Jesus is life
Seek everlasting life

Find hope for the lost

Jesus is all you need

May your faith grow

Time is short

(October 31, 2000 6:02 AM CST)

"In very truth,
the hairs of your head are counted!
Fear nothing, then.
You are worth more than a flock of sparrows."
Luke 12:7

God knows all about you.
He knows the finest details.
He is concerned about you.
You have nothing to fear.
Stay close to the Lord.
Walk in his ways.
Take his paths.
Fly his way.
Enjoy his blue sky.
He lifts you up.
He is joy.

(October 30, 2000 5:58 AM CST)

"Lord, when did we see you hungry
or thirsty or away from home
or naked or ill or in prison
and not attend you in your needs?"
Matthew 25:44

Jesus shows up in strange places.
He is that starving child you see sometimes on TV.
He is that refugee that is fleeing their country.
He is living in a cardboard box at night in your city.
He is in the hospital sick.
He is locked up in prison.
Will you think about these people in need?
Will you help them?
Will you do something?
Will you do anything?
Jesus is there.

(October 29, 2000 7:18 AM CST)

"I will instruct you and show you
the way you should walk;
I will counsel you,
keeping my eye on you."
Psalms 32:8

The Lord will instruct you.
He leads you, if you let him.
He guides you to eternal life.
He is your counsel.
He is your guard.
Walk with the Lord.
Stay by his side.
Keep close.
He helps you through life.
He is all that you need.
He is your instructor.
Be willing to learn.

(October 28, 2000 6:20 AM CDT)

"God has not called us to immorality but to holiness;
hence, whoever rejects these instructions
rejects not man, but God
who sends his Holy Spirit upon you."
1 Thessalonians 4:7-8

God calls you.
He calls you away from immorality.
He calls you to holiness.
Will you come to him?
Will you draw near?
Please, don't reject God.
Accept the Lord.
Welcome the Holy Spirit.
The Spirit is sent to you.
You need the Spirit to lead a holy life.
Come, Holy Spirit.
Come and change us.

(October 27, 2000 6:04 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"As the lightning from the east flashes to the west,
so will the coming of the Son of Man be."
Matthew 24:27

One day Jesus will come again.
It will be sudden.
You will be surprised.
Prepare for him.
Be ready to welcome him.
You do not know the day or the time.
He will come in his glory with the angels.
He will show his power.
He will show he is the king.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Come in all your glory.

(October 26, 2000 6:11 AM CDT)

"Give to the Lord, you families of nations,
give to the Lord glory and praise;
give to the Lord the glory due his name!
Bring gifts and enter his courts;
worship the Lord in holy attire."
Psalms 96:7-8

What do you give the Lord today?
What do you have to give him?
Is there anything you can give him?
Give him your praise.
With your full attention praise him.
Give him a compliment.
Talk with him.
Ask him for direction.
Ask how you are doing.
Do you need to work on something?
Wear his name.
Be clothed in holiness.
He calls you to be like him.
Be part of his family.
Give to him.

(October 25, 2000 6:01 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Blest are the sorrowing;
they shall be consoled."
Matthew 5:4

Maybe you have lost someone close to you.
Come to Jesus.
He will console you in your grief.
He will bring peace to your spirit.
He is life.
He gives life.
Life continues in Jesus.
Reach out to others in sorrow.
Give them a hug.
Listen to them.
Send them a card.
Tell them you are thinking about them.
Be with them.

(October 24, 2000 6:06 AM CDT)

"Mend your ways.
Encourage one another.
Live in harmony and peace,
and the God of love and peace
will be with you."
2 Corinthians 13:11

Take your pick.
Either change your ways or
encourage others or live in harmony or
all of the above.
Take them on.
Challenge yourself to be a holy person.
Call on the help of God.
Lord of love and peace be with us.
Make us like you.
Change our selfishness.
Renew our ways of thinking.
Replace our thoughts.
Be with us Lord Jesus.
We need you, Lord.

(October 23, 2000 6:04 AM CDT)

"We bring every thought into captivity
to make it obedient to Christ."
2 Corinthians 10:5

What were you just thinking?
Your thoughts give you away.
Control your thoughts.
Bring them in line with Christ.
That is something to think about.
Our minds are very powerful.
Our imaginations are very active.
What you think is what you are.
Do you think about pleasing God?
Do you think about being holy?
Are your thoughts full of sin?
The battle is in your head.
Change your mind.
Focus your mind on Christ.
Be a Christian in body, soul and mind.
Think.

(October 22, 2000 8:22 AM CDT)

It is raining this morning...
a rare phenomenon.

"Now is the acceptable time!
Now is the day of salvation!"
2 Corinthians 6:2

This is the day.
Today is the day.
Do not wait.
Don't say that you will do it next year.
You need help now.
Ask Jesus into your heart today.
Ask while it is raining.
Let the love of God pour down on you.
Ask him to forgive your sins.
Make today a special day.
Pray to him.
Jesus, I give you my heart today.
I ask you to forgive my sins.
Change me, Lord.
Make me a new creation.
Fill me with joy.
Give me peace.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Come now.

(October 21, 2000 7:56 AM CDT)

"Many Samaritans from that town believed in him
on the strength of the woman's word of testimony:
'He told me everything I ever did.'"
John 4:39

Your words are important.
Say things carefully.
You are giving a testimony.
You are a witness to the truth.
Share what you know about Jesus Christ.
Tell of his love.
Share his strength.
He knows all that you have done and forgives you.
He is everything you want and need.
Give your testimony.

(October 20, 2000 6:01 AM CDT)

"If only my people would hear me..."
Psalms 81:14

Listening is so important.
The Lord has much to say to us.
The Lord speaks words of peace.
He speaks words of encouragement.
He warns us of evil.
He protects us.
He blesses us.
He forgives us.
Hear what Christ has to say.
Let it change you.
Let it heal you.

(October 19, 2000 6:02 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"You know that in two days' time
it will be Passover,
and that the Son of Man
is to be handed over to be crucified."
Matthew 26:2

Jesus knew he would suffer.
He knew he would die,
but he did not run away.
He did the will of the Father.
He loved us that much!
He saved us from death.
He opened the gates of heaven.
He provided us with eternal life.
He is wonderful.
That is why we praise him.
He is God and yet he came to earth.
He became one of us.
He saved us.
Thank you, Jesus.

(October 18, 2000 6:05 AM CDT)

Please pray for Janene that is in the hospital.
Thanks.

We thank the Lord for the peace talks in Egypt.
That is an answer to prayer!

"Dismiss all anxiety from your minds.
Present your needs to God is every form of prayer
and in petitions full of gratitude.
Then God's own peace,
which is beyond all understanding,
will stand guard over your hearts and minds,
in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7

Maybe you are in the hospital with cancer.
Dismiss your anxiety.
Present this need to God.
Pray to the Lord.
God is bigger than cancer.
He can heal you.
There is physical healing and spiritual healing.
He will help you carry this burden.
You may not understand.
Christ will see you through this problem.
Draw near to him.
Seek his comforting words.
Receive people that come to visit you.
Pray with them.
They need healing too.
May your heart and mind be blessed.

(October 17, 2000 6:06 AM CDT)

I keep dialing in to my ISP and the line is busy this morning.
I will write this offline and upload it later.
Sorry for the delay.

Pray for Tom that broke his hip and
Paul that died Sunday.
For the Lord to be with them and their families.

"Give thanks to God the Father always and for everything
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Defer to one another out of reverence for Christ."
Ephesians 5:20-21

Be thankful today for all that God has done for you.
Have a heart full of gratitude.
Change your attitude to gratefulness.
Realize your many blessings from above.
Bless the name of our Lord Jesus.
He is over all things.
He is to be praised.
Have reverence for Christ.
Hold him high.
Be inspired by him.
Look up to him.
Give thanks for everything.
Praise the name of the Lord.

(October 16, 2000 5:52 AM CDT)

"The angel of the Lord suddenly appeared
in a dream to Joseph with the command:
'Get up, take the child and his mother,
and flee to Egypt.
Stay there until I tell you otherwise.'"
Matthew 2:13

Joseph, Mary and Jesus went to Egypt.
They left everything behind.
Their lives were in danger.
They left that night.
We should do the same.
If you are in danger, flee.
Maybe the people around you want to do something bad.
Flee.
Maybe your friends want you to steal something.
Flee.
There are times when the Lord commands you to run away.
Keep far from evil.
Stay near the Lord.
He is your true friend.

(October 15, 2000 7:27 AM CDT)

"All you who are thirsty,
come to the water!
You who have no money,
come, receive grain and eat;
Come, without paying and without cost,
drink wine and milk!
Why spend your money for what is not bread;
your wages for what fails to satisfy?"
Isaiah 55:1-2

Isn't it obvious?
If you are thirsty, go to the water.
If you are hungry, you go find food.
Why bother with things that do not satisfy you?
You buy all kinds of things and they leave you empty.
Jesus says to come to him.
He will satisfy you.
He is water for the journey.
He is food to give you strength.
He is more than you could ever ask for.

(October 14, 2000 7:50 AM CDT)

Yesterday I was reading about Medical School .
When I was young I wanted to be a doctor,
but it never happened.
There is a lot to learn.
My nephew wants to be a doctor,
so I did some research for him.
God bless all the medical students.

"Truly you have formed my inmost being;
you knit me in my mother's womb.
I give you thanks that I am fearfully, wonderfully made;
wonderful are your works."
Psalms 139:13-14

If you read what some of the medical students have written,
they are amazed at what God has made.
One person used the word "reverence."
The human body is a wonderful thing.
It is a beautiful and very complicated creation.
There are things that they still can't explain.
It is something to be studied.
Life is something to be treasured.
God has given you life.
It is a gift.
Give thanks.

(October 13, 2000 5:58 AM CDT)

"In Christ and through faith in him
we can speak freely to God,
drawing near him with confidence."
Ephesians 3:12

Pray to God.
Speak to him.
Draw near to him.
He is there for you.
Be positive.
Be confident.
God is in control.
It may look like all hope is lost,
but God is there.
You will make it.
You will make it home one day.
You will accomplish great things.
Speak to God.

(October 12, 2000 6:01 AM CDT)

"We walk by faith,
not by sight."
2 Corinthians 5:7

Song - We Walk By Faith

We can't see heaven.
We can't see God at the moment.
We know he is there.
We know that heaven awaits us.
It is faith that keeps us going.
It is faith in Christ that gives us hope.
We know the Lord.
We know he is awesome.
He gives us the sight we need.
We see what is truly important.
We see that we can change.
We see holiness.
It is faith.
We keep walking.

(October 11, 2000 5:58 AM CDT)

"When the perfect comes,
the imperfect will pass away."
1 Corinthians 13:10

We live in an imperfect world.
Many sad things happen each day.
One day it will all change.
The perfection of God will enter in.
We live with imperfect people.
We fail.
We make mistakes.
One day the grace of God will appear.
It will change us.
Call on the grace of God.
Lord, come and change us.
Make us more like you.
Change our world.
Bring your peace.
We pray for peace in Israel .

(October 10, 2000 6:02 AM CDT)

"Pray perseveringly,
be attentive to prayer,
and pray in a spirit of thanksgiving."
Colossians 4:2

Prayer.
Do you ever pray?
Thank the Lord for your life.
Thank him for your food and a place to stay.
Talk to the Lord.
He is a friend.
Tell him your hopes and fears.
He cares about you.
Think about the Lord Jesus often.
Make little prayers during the day.
Jesus, help me figure this out.
Give me strength to get through this.
He is there.
He is always present to help you.
Be aware of him.
Pray to him.
Jesus, bless all the people that read this today.
Bless their families.

(October 9, 2000 6:02 AM CDT)

"Let them alone.
If their purpose or activity is human in its origins,
it will destroy itself.
If, on the other hand, it comes from God,
you will not be able to destroy them
without fighting God himself."
Acts 5:38-39

God has a plan.
God has a purpose.
Are you fighting God?
Are you fighting his plan?
You will fail.
God is bigger than you.
Join God's plan.
Come over to his side.
Support him.
Follow him.
Be part of his plan.

(October 8, 2000 7:54 AM CDT)

"At this they tried to seize Jesus,
but no one laid a finger on him
because his hour had not yet come.
Many in the crowd came to believe in him.
They kept saying,
'When the Messiah comes,
can he be expected
to perform more signs than this man?'"
John 7:30-31

There is timing to God's plan.
You need to be patient.
You pray for things to change,
but God's timing is perfect.
You need to believe in Jesus.
You need to trust him.
Yes, he will perform signs and wonders.
You will see awesome things.
He is master of the universe.
His timing is everything.
Trust him.
Things will fall into place.
What more can you ask?
Jesus is in control of time.
The hour will come.

(October 7, 2000 7:48 AM CDT)

Someone wrote to me and asked for prayer,
so pray for them and their partner.
Thanks.

Jesus said,
"You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart,
with all your soul,
with all your mind,
and with all your strength.
You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Mark 12:30-31

These are very important words.
This is Jesus teaching us.
This is what he asks of us.
Do you read the words?
Do you take them to heart?
Do you apply them to your life?
They are words to live by.
Love God.
Love your neighbor.
If you do...
"You are not far from the reign of God." (Verse 34)

(October 6, 2000 6:01 AM CDT)

"More powerful than the roar of many waters,
more powerful than the breakers of the sea ---
powerful on high is the Lord."
Psalms 93:4

The Lord is all power.
He spans the universe.
He is bigger than all we can see in telescopes.
He is God.
And yet he loves us.
He cares about us.
He is a personal God.
He loves us as individuals.
We thank the Lord today for his love.
He is amazing.

(October 5, 2000 6:02 AM CDT)

Kevin sent me a list of Christian links
that he has compiled.

"Therefore submit to God;
resist the devil and he will take flight.
Draw close to God,
and he will draw close to you."
James 4:7-8

These are words of life.
This is how to live.
Push the devil away.
Get the evil out of your life.
Ask God to forgive your sins.
This brings you close to him.
He surrounds you with his love.
The Lord comes to live with you.
He is close to you.

(October 4, 2000 5:59 AM CDT)

I watched the beginning of the presidential debate last night.
I videotaped it and will watch more tonight.
Pray for our next president.
Pray for our country.
God bless our next president.
God bless our country.

"The Lord is the Spirit,
and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is freedom.
All of us,
gazing on the Lord's glory with unveiled faces,
are being transformed from glory to glory
into his very image by the Lord who is the Spirit."
2 Corinthians 3:17-18

Are you being changed?
Are you different?
Is your face unveiled (very bright like Moses)?
Is unspeakable joy part of your life?
Seek the Lord.
Seek the Holy Spirit.
Be moved.
Be changed.
Be transformed.
Jesus, come and fill our hearts.
Make us like you.
You are pure love.
You are all glory.
Come and change us, Lord.

(October 3, 2000 5:56 AM CDT)

"To the weak I became a weak person
with a view to winning the weak.
I have made myself all things to all people
in order to save at least some of them.
In fact,
I do all that I do for the sake of the gospel
in the hope of having a share in its blessings."
1 Corinthians 9:22-23

Be a friend.
Share your life with a friend.
Share the good news (the gospel).
Share yourself.
Walk in their shoes for a few moments.
Listen to their story.
Win them over to the side of good.
Share your knowledge of God.
Pull them away from evil.
Bless them in the name of Christ.
Be a friend.

(October 2, 2000 5:58 AM CDT)

You can see the dust flying in the fields.
It is harvest time.
The farmers are very busy.
It is time to bring in the crops.

Jesus said to them:
"The harvest is rich
but the workers are few;
therefore ask the harvest-master
to send workers to his harvest.
Be on your way..."
Luke 10:2-3

Move.
Go.
Be on your way.
The Lord sends you forth today.
The Lord needs workers.
He needs you.
Yes, you.
Share the riches of Christ with others.
Be thoughtful and caring.
Comfort the hurting.
Listen to those who are lost.
Point them to the Lord.
Be a friend.
It is harvest time.
Watch the dust fly.

(October 1, 2000 8:04 AM CDT)

Jesus then said to them:
"Your faith in me shall be shaken,
for Scripture has it,
'I will strike the shepherd
and the sheep will be dispersed.'
But after I am raised up,
I will go to Galilee ahead of you."
Mark 14:27-28

The Christian life is not easy.
You will have problems.
There will be difficulties.
Your faith will be tested.
Will you stay with Jesus
or will you leave him?
He is all that you have.
Where can you go?
He even goes before you.
He is there.
Do not leave him.
Do not desert him.
He is your leader.
Follow him.
Pray to him.
Pray with him.
Jesus, help us.
Help us to be faithful.
Give us strength in time of need.
Secure our faith.
We follow you.
We love you.
