God is your Father
Love God with your whole heart

Seek the truth

Know you are loved by Jesus

He makes all things new

Pray for more faith

(May 31, 2002 5:55 AM CDT)

"In him who is the source of my strength
I have strength for everything."
Philippians 4:13

Who is your source?
Is it you?
That is why you are so tired.
You need the Lord's strength.
He will provide the strength that you need.
He is your source.
Don't be so independent.
Ask for the Lord's help.
It is there for the asking.

(May 30, 2002 5:56 AM CDT)

"He who sows sparingly will reap sparingly,
and he who sows bountifully will reap bountifully.
Everyone must give according to what he has inwardly decided;
not sadly, not grudgingly,
for God loves a cheerful giver.
God can multiply his favors among you
so that you may always have enough of everything and
even a surplus for good works..."
2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Be generous.
God has blessed you.
Share your blessings.
Share your money and your time.
He will multiply your gift.
Work with the Lord.
God will reward you with joy.
Know that you are doing God's will.
He will watch over you and your family.
God is good.
Be glad.

"Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemani .
He said to his disciples,
'Stay here while I go over there and pray.'
He took along Peter and Zebedee's two sons,
and began to experience sorrow and distress.
Then he said to them,
'My heart is nearly broken with sorrow.
Remain here and stay awake with me.'"
Matthew 26:36-38

Jesus said prayers.
He experienced sorrow and pain.
He was one of us.
He needed his friends.
He asks you to pray with him.
Come and share his broken heart for the lost.
Stay with him.
Stay awake.
Pray with Jesus in the garden.

(May 28, 2002 5:55 AM CDT)

It sounded like we got rain all night long.
Thank the Lord.
We need it.

"Sing joyfully to the Lord, all you lands;
serve the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful song.
Know that the Lord is God;
he made us, his we are;
his people, the flock he tends.
Enter is gates with thanksgiving,
his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him;
bless his name, for he is good:
the Lord,
whose kindness endures forever,
and his faithfulness, to all generations."
Psalms 100:1-5

We belong to him.
We are his.
Be joyful knowing that you are God's child.
You are inside the gates.
Bless the Lord.
Praise the Lord with song.
Listen to Christian music.
Be thankful for his goodness.
The Lord is kind.
He is faithful for all generations.

(May 27, 2002 6:12 AM CDT)

"We pray for you always that our God
may make you worthy of his call,
and fulfill by his power
every honest intention and work of faith."
2 Thessalonians 1:11

God is with you.
You don't work alone.
Every good intention comes from God.
He is your inspiration.
Do these good works often.
God blesses your efforts.
Don't be lazy and just sit around.
Put your faith to work.

(May 26, 2002 6:31 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"I solemnly assure you,
the man (or woman) who hears my word
and has faith in him who sent me
possesses eternal life."
John 5:24

Do you believe what Jesus said?
He has the words of truth.
He has the words of life.
You need him.
Yes, you do.
You will not make it without him.
Give your life to Jesus.
You need eternal life.

(May 25, 2002 6:15 AM CDT)

Yesterday I went to the Omaha Zoo .
The film on Lewis and Clark was great.
The Desert Dome was very interesting.
The penguins were cool.
The tigers are something else.
It was a fun time.

"The light shines on in darkness,
a darkness that did not overcome it."
John 1:5

Jesus is light.
He lights up the darkness.
He is joy to the world.
He is hope to the lost.
He is what the world needs.
You need Jesus in your life.

(May 24, 2002 6:06 AM CDT)

Jesus told a story,
"The man who had received the 5,000 came forward
bringing the additional 5.
'My lord,' he said, 'you let me have 5,000.
See I have made 5,000 more.'
His master said to him,
'Well done!
You are an industrious and reliable servant.
Since you were dependable in a small matter
I will put you in charge of larger affairs.
Come, share your master's joy!'"
Matthew 25:20-21

We all have talents from the Lord.
Are we using them?
Are we just watching TV?
We want the Lord to say to us, "Well done!"
Let us be of service to the Lord.
Let us grow in our talents.
Each year we should learn more.
The result will be joy.
It is joy from the Lord Jesus.
Share in it.

(May 23, 2002 6:05 AM CDT)

This reading is from the graduation
of my nephew Jacob last night.
God bless all the graduates of 2002.

"You have no idea what kind of life will be yours tomorrow.
You are a vapor that appears briefly and vanishes."
James 4:14

We are only here for a short time...
then we are gone.
Let us make the most of our time.
Let us be of service.
We should use our minds to learn new things and grow.
We can make a difference in the world.
We can make the world a better place.
Call on the Lord to guide you.

(May 22, 2002 6:02 AM CDT)

"Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done wondrous deeds;
His right hand has won victory for him,
his holy arm."
Psalms 98:1

The Lord is joy.
There is happiness in knowing Jesus.
He does wonderful things for us.
We are truly blessed with gifts from above.
In the end we will win with the Lord.
He is the ticket to success.
Our victory is in Jesus.

(May 21, 2002 6:02 AM CDT)

"Beloved, grow strong in your holy faith
through prayer in the Holy Spirit.
Persevere in God's love, and
welcome the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ
which leads to life eternal.
Correct those who are confused;
the others you must rescue,
snatching them from the fire."
Jude 1:20-22

Many are confused.
They are living a life of lies.
They need to know the truth.
God's mercy is there.
It is available to save them.
It can rescue them from the fire.
Call on the mercy of Jesus Christ.
Pray to the Holy Spirit.
Bow to the Father of heaven and earth.
Give praise to God.

(May 20, 2002 6:04 AM CDT)

"Pray perseveringly, be attentive to prayer,
and pray in a spirit of thanksgiving."
Colossians 4:2

Do you pray?
Is prayer a part of your life?
You need that communication with God.
You need that contact with the infinite.
Thank the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
Sing to the Lord.
Ask the Lord for what you need.
Listen to the Lord for wisdom.
Be comforted by the presence of Jesus.
Give it your full attention.
Lord Jesus, teach me how to pray.

(May 19, 2002 6:24 AM CDT)

Happy Pentecost!
We remember the coming of the Holy Spirit to the early church.

Yesterday, I planted flowers in front of my house.
They look wonderful in the morning sunshine ---
lots of different colors.

Yesterday, I downloaded every update there was
for Windows XP to my new HP PC.
It was about 15 MB and took around 2 hours on my slow 56K modem.
I updated my virus checker and scanned my hard drive,
which takes around 20 minutes.
No viruses were found.

This morning I received a fraud email talking about $126M.
They say,
"We want to transfer to overseas account
($ 126,000.000.00 USD) One hundred and six two million
United States Dollars) from a Prime Bank in Africa..."
Yeah, right!
The words on the amount do not agree ($162M).
Only a few weeks ago they were talking about $16M.
It is funny.
Do you get these too?

"When the day of Pentecost came
it found them gathered in one place.
Suddenly from up in the sky
there came a noise like a strong, driving wind
which was heard all through the house where they were seated.
Tongues as of fire appeared,
which parted and came to rest on each of them.
All were filled with the Holy Spirit.
They began to express themselves in foreign tongues
and make bold proclamation as the Spirit prompted them."
Acts 2:1-4

The Spirit is priceless.
It is easily worth more than $126M.
It is life for all that life is.
It is joy that is out of this world.
It is peace to let you sleep at night.
It is hope for a better world.
It is a very bright future for you.
Come Holy Spirit today.
Change us.
Renew the face of the earth.

(May 18, 2002 6:15 AM CDT)

"What we are aiming at in this warning
is the love that springs from a pure heart,
a good conscience, and sincere faith."
1 Timothy 1:5

There are warnings in the Bible.
There are sign posts that point to the truth.
Aim higher.
May your heart be pure.
May you be true to your conscience.
May you have a faith that is sincere.

(May 17, 2002 6:06 AM CDT)

"Those who listened to his words were stung to the heart;
they ground their teeth in anger at him.
Stephen meanwhile, filled with the Holy Spirit,
looked to the sky above and saw the glory of God,
and Jesus standing at God's right hand."
Acts 7:54-55

Stephen saw heaven.
He saw the glory of God.
The Holy Spirit revealed the open door to him.
Ask the Spirit to open new doors to you.
The Spirit will show you new insights.
Look up.
The sky is not the limit.
Open your heart and mind to the Spirit.

(May 16, 2002 6:02 AM CDT)

"They took the 30 pieces of silver,
the value of a man with a price on his head,
a price set by the Israelites,
and they paid it out for the potter's field
just as the Lord had commanded me."
Matthew 27:9-10

There are many prophesies about Jesus.
This one talks about the 30 pieces of silver
and the potter's field.
The Holy Spirit inspired the prophets.
They told that one day a Messiah would come to save them.
He has come and his name is Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit continues today to lead Christians.
The Spirit is there to guide us to the truth.
Call on the Spirit for inspiration.

(May 15, 2002 6:01 AM CDT)

"That is why we thank God constantly
that in receiving his message from us you took it,
not as the word of men, but as it truly is,
the word of God at work within you who believe."
1 Thessalonians 2:13

Receive the word.
Let it change you.
Let it teach you.
Thank the Lord for this word.
Thank him for this blessing.
Let him guide you to the truth.
It is a word from God.

(May 14, 2002 6:10 AM CDT)

"Confident as I am about this,
I wanted to visit you first
so that a double grace might be yours."
2 Corinthians 1:15

Go visit the sick.
Visit those in prison.
They get blessed and you get blessed.
The Lord will pour out his grace on both of you.
He is a very generous God.
If you take one step, he multiplies it.
Be a blessing to others today.

(May 13, 2002 6:08 AM CDT)

"The tax collectors and sinners were
all gathering around to hear him,
at which the Pharisees and the scribes murmured,
'This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.'"
Luke 15:1-2

Jesus was a little different.
He talked to sinners.
He sought them out.
He brought them good news.
He wanted to change their lives.
Jesus is interested in you.
He wants to talk to you.
He wants to change your life.
Listen to Jesus.

(May 12, 2002 6:31 AM CDT)

Happy Mother's Day!
God bless all of them.
God be with them.

Jesus said,
"Those sown on good soil
are the ones who listen to the word,
take it to heart,
and yield at 30- and 60- and a 100-fold."
Mark 4:20

The word of God changes things.
It changes you.
Read the words.
Get them into your head and heart.
Think about them.
You and God can do amazing things.
Work with the Lord.
Work for the Lord.
Then watch the yield.

(May 11, 2002 6:09 AM CDT)

"But I, like a green olive tree in the house of God,
Trust in the kindness of God forever and ever.
I will thank you always for what you have done,
and proclaim the goodness of your name
before your faithful ones."
Psalms 52:10-11

Be green.
Be a plant that is alive.
Be connected to the house of God.
Be planted in his garden.
Speak about his goodness.
Share the story of love.
Open your hands in praise to God like the leaves.
Bless the Lord with your beauty and faithfulness.

(May 10, 2002 5:59 AM CDT)

"Simon Peter went aboard and hauled ashore
the net loaded with sizable fish --- 153 of them!
In spite of the great number,
the net was not torn."
John 21:11

There is room for all in the kingdom of God.
Even that bomber Lucas Helder who was arrested a few days ago.
God can forgive anyone.
He can change anyone.
The net will hold you.
You want to be caught.
You want to be aboard the ship.
You want to be safe in God's hands.
Christ invites all to be with him.
Pray for the lost and confused.

(May 9, 2002 6:04 AM CDT)

"The Spirit we have received is not the world's spirit
but God's Spirit,
helping us to recognize the gifts he has given us."
1 Corinthians 2:12

Come, Holy Spirit.
Come Spirit of wisdom and light.
Fill us with your knowledge.
Lead us to the truth.
Make us bold witnesses.
Make us holy.
Teach us to love.
Thank you for your gifts.
We are most grateful.

(May 8, 2002 5:54 AM CDT)

"Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet.
Loud voices in heaven cried out,
'The kingdom of the world now belongs
to our Lord and to his Anointed One,
and he shall reign forever and ever.'"
Revelation 11:15

One day the Lord will return.
The trumpet will be heard.
Jesus Christ will return in glory and power.
Will you welcome him?
Will you run and hide?
Prepare for his return.
Pray for his return.
He will return.

(May 7, 2002 5:54 AM CDT)

Yesterday when I got home
all the mailboxes in the neighborhood were open.
What a sight!
Someone has been placing bombs in mailboxes around Nebraska,
so by keeping them open this will keep the mail safe.
Pray for these mixed up people.
They need help.

"Once you were no people,
but now you are God's people;
once there was no mercy for you,
but now you have found mercy."
1 Peter 2:10

You are somebody.
You are important.
You belong to Jesus.
You are a follower of Christ.
You belong to the family of God.
God has poured out his mercy on all people.
Receive his mercy and love.
Bow before Christ the Lord.
Ask for mercy and mercy is yours.

(May 6, 2002 5:59 AM CDT)

"Therefore he is always able to save those
who approach God through him,
since he forever lives to make intercession for them."
Hebrews 7:25

Jesus is on your side.
He cares about you.
He intercedes for you.
He is praying for you to excel.
You should be great.
He will save you and he will change you.
Expect new things.
He will challenge you to greatness.
With Jesus at your side you will do amazing things.

(May 5, 2002 7:10 AM CDT)

"A door has been opened wide for my work,
but at the same time there are many opposed."
1 Corinthians 16:9

Some doors are wide open now.
The gospel is being proclaimed all over the world.
People are hearing about Jesus.
Pray for all missionaries.
God be with them.
Help spread the gospel.
Don't be a closed door.
Open up and share what you know.
The world needs Jesus.

(May 4, 2002 8:33 AM CDT)

"For I am certain that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor principalities,
neither the present nor the future, nor powers,
neither height nor depth nor any other creature,
will be able to separate us from the love of God
that comes to us in Christ Jesus, our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39

What can keep you from God?
What can keep you from his love?
Come to the Lord.
He loves you so much.
Don't let anyone or anything stand between you and the Lord.
He wants to be number one.
Make faith your first priority
than all will fall into place.
Your future is in his hands.

(May 3, 2002 6:06 AM CDT)

"A man named Jairus, who was chief of the synagogue,
came up and fell at Jesus' feet,
begging that he come to his home
because his only daughter,
a girl of about twelve, was dying."
Luke 8:41-42

Fall at the feet of Jesus today.
Beg him to come to your house.
Ask him to bring your family back to life.
Lord, heal our families.
Bless our loved ones.
We ask you to help us.
We are in great need.
Bless our homes, Lord.
Make them a place of love.
Help us to grow closer to each other.
Come to our home today.

(May 2, 2002 6:07 AM CDT)

"I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with all my heart;
I will declare all your wondrous deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, Most High..."
Psalms 9:1-3

On this national day of prayer let us pray.
Lord, we praise you today.
We thank you for your many gifts to us.
We thank you for life.
You are most wonderful.
Your creation is beautiful beyond words.
We are truly amazed at all that you have made.
Bless us, Lord.
Bless our nation.
Make us a holy nation under you.
We thank you for all the gifts you give our country.
Help us to use them correctly to benefit the world.
Bless our leaders.
Lead them and guide them.
May there be peace in our troubled world.
We ask this in the name of Jesus.

(May 1, 2002 6:13 AM CDT)

Yesterday I received a letter from a church in Lima, Peru.
It was written in Spanish and I couldn't even read it.
The date said, "FECHA: 23 de Abril del 2002".
I understand that.
Pray for the pastor there and all the people.

"The fruit of the spirit is love,
joy, peace, patient endurance,
kindness, generosity, faith,
mildness and chastity."
Galatians 5:22-23

If your life is led by the Holy Spirit, it will be wonderful.
There will be love and joy.
You will experience peace.
You will be a kind person.
God will fill your heart with faith.
Give to the poor.
Be generous.
