Live for the Lord
Praise God

Pray often

Read the Bible

Love one another

Love God

(March 31, 2003 6:13 AM CST)

"All of us stand before God at this moment
to hear whatever directives the Lord has given you."
Acts 10:33

Pray for your pastor.
Pray for all preachers.
They have a message to give.
The message is clear and important.
Pray for the people to receive the message from God.
God bless all the pastors and preachers.

(March 30, 2003 8:12 AM CST)

The soldiers said to Jesus as he hung on the cross,
"If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself."
Luke 23:37

Jesus had the power to come down off the cross,
but he did not.
He stayed there for you and me.
He offered up his life for all of us.
He shed his blood because of his great love.
Thank the Lord today.
He loves you very much.

(March 29, 2003 8:25 AM CST)

Jesus told a parable,
"When those hired late in the afternoon came up
they received a full day's pay,
and when the first group appeared
they supposed they would get more;
yet they received the same daily wage.
Thereupon they complained to the owner..."
Matthew 20:9-11

God does not think like us.
He is most generous with his blessings.
He loves us to an extreme.
He is full of surprises.
He gives and gives and gives.
He is amazing.

You have to wonder what God thinks of this war in Iraq.
Here we are in 2003 and still killing each other.
We still have not learned to live with each other in peace.
It is a very sad thing...very disappointing.

(March 28, 2003 6:07 AM CST)

We continue to pray for a quick end to the war in Iraq.
We pray for the safety of our troops.
We pray that the killing may stop.
We pray for the injured to recover quickly.
We pray for the families of the service men and women.
Lord Jesus, bring peace to this situation.
We need your help.

Jesus said,
"I solemnly assure you,
if a man is true to my word
he shall never see death."
John 8:51

Jesus promises life.
He is life.
He is life that never ends.
Give your heart to Jesus.
Trust him.
Be true to Jesus.

(March 27, 2003 6:14 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"If you bring your gift to the altar
and there recall that your brother
has anything against you,
leave your gift at the altar,
go first to be reconciled with your brother,
and then come and offer your gift."
Matthew 5:23-24

Forgive, forgive, forgive.
It is a way of life.
We are not perfect.
Offer forgiveness and ask for forgiveness.
It makes life so much easier.
Jesus, help us to forgive, as you have forgiven us.

(March 26, 2003 6:09 AM CST)

"Praised be the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
he who in his great mercy
gave us new birth;
a birth unto hope
which draws its life from the resurrection
of Jesus Christ from the dead."
1 Peter 1:3

You need to be born again.
You need new life.
You are always buying new clothes
or a new car or a new house,
which never satisfies you.
You want something new.
You need the new birth in Jesus.
He is new life every morning.
He is life to the max.

(March 25, 2003 6:12 AM CST)

"Whatever you do, whether in speech or in action,
do it in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Give thanks to God the Father through him."
Colossians 3:17

Lord, let all that we do today be for you.
May all our actions be kind and loving.
May we bring peace to our homes and neighborhoods.
We thank you, Father in heaven, for all your blessings.
We ask this all in the name of Jesus.

(March 24, 2003 6:12 AM CST)

What does it look like at
the top of the world ?
This is a very interesting picture from Mount Everest.

"Though he was in the form of God,
he did not deem equality with God
something to be grasped at.
Rather, he emptied himself
and took the form of a slave,
being born in the likeness of men."
Philippians 2:6-7

Jesus is at the top
and yet he became one of us.
He emptied himself.
He gave up very much.
He suffered and died for us.
In doing so, we have eternal life.
Thank you, Jesus.

(March 23, 2003 8:26 AM CST)

"I remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I remember your wonders of old.
And I meditate on your works;
your exploits I ponder."
Psalms 77:12-13

What wonderful things the Lord has done!
He is highly to be praised.
He is awesome.
He is the mighty one.
Praise the Lord.
Think about all that he has done.

(March 22, 2003 9:07 AM CST)

"Cast all your cares on him
because he cares for you."
1 Peter 5:7

We live in times of great trials.
Give your troubles to the Lord.
Trust in him.
He is all powerful.
Leave it in his hands.

(March 21, 2003 6:16 AM CST)

"God has not called us to immorality but to holiness;
hence, whoever rejects these instructions
rejects not man, but God
who sends his Holy Spirit upon you."
1 Thessalonians 4:7-8

Live a life of holiness.
Do the will of God.
If you do what God wants you to do,
you don't have time to do the evil things.
Call on the Holy Spirit to help you.

(March 20, 2003 6:15 AM CST)

The war with Iraq has begun.
We pray that it will be short
and few people are killed.

Denver, Colorado was hit with about 2 feet of snow in the last 2 days.
Pray for them as they dig out.

"If we have sown for you in the spirit,
is it too much to expect a material harvest from you?"
1 Corinthians 9:11

The Lord has invested in you.
The seeds have been planted.
Will you grow in the Spirit?
Create a rich harvest.
Let the love of God show.

(March 19, 2003 6:15 AM CST)

Overnight we received some much needed rain.
Thank the Lord.
I'm starting to sneeze from the tree pollen in the air.
It must be springtime.

"The community of believers
was of one heart and one mind."
Acts 4:32

The Holy Spirit brings us together.
We are able to work as one.
We praise the Lord with one voice.
We help those in need.
We are the Body of Christ.

(March 18, 2003 6:14 AM CST)

Let us pray today for President Bush to do the right thing.
God bless him and all world leaders.

"God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him may not die
but may have eternal life."
John 3:16

God loves you.
He loves you very much.
He wants you to live forever with him.
Come to him now.
Give your heart to Jesus.
Believe in him.

(March 17, 2003 6:16 AM CST)

"Pilate, who wished to satisfy the crowd,
released Barabbas to them;
and after he had Jesus scourged,
he handed him over to be crucified."
Mark 15:15

Pilate used popular opinion to make a decision.
The crowd can be wrong.
They can release the guilty and
put innocent people to death.
Taking a survey isn't too reliable to find the truth.
Listen to Jesus to know the truth.
Study the Bible to learn the way that leads to life.

(March 16, 2003 8:22 AM CST)

I just wrote 3 letters for the
Military Care Packages that will be sent overseas
to our men and women in the service.
I included some snacks and candy for them.
Pray for all of these people serving our country.
God bless them and keep them safe.
Girls and Boys Town is collecting the packages
and sending them to an other church and then to ???.
Somehow they will get overseas.

Jesus told the man who had unclean spirits cast out,
"Go home to your family
and make it clear to them
how much the Lord in his mercy has done for you."
Mark 5:19

Tell your family.
Tell your friends.
Tell them what the Lord has done for you.
He has saved you from evil.
He has cast out your sins and made you whole.
He has given you a peaceful soul.
He has made you clean.

(March 15, 2003 9:00 AM CST)

"We praise you, the Lord God Almighty,
who is and who was.
You have assumed your great power,
you have begun your reign."
Revelation 11:17

Praise the Lord.
He is Almighty.
He is great power.
He was and will always be.
He is the mighty one.
Praise the Lord of heaven and earth.

(March 14, 2003 6:07 AM CST)

"Did not God
choose those who are poor in the eyes of the world
to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom
he promised to those who love him?"
James 2:5

Respect the poor.
Help the poor.
We have much to learn from them.
Listen to the poor.
May we all be blessed with more faith.

(March 13, 2003 6:14 AM CST)

"The word of the Lord
continued to spread and increase."
Acts 12:24

The word of the Lord is powerful.
It changes people.
It will change you.
Read the Bible.
Take it into your heart.
Think about it.
It will change your life.
It will change the world.

(March 12, 2003 6:11 AM CST)

The last few days I have been looking at
www.blogger.com .
I'm trying to figure it out
and if it is useful or not.
I made a new weblog/blog out there called
s2l.blogspot.com .
I thought I would give it a try
and see what it does.
You can make your own weblog/blog.
Give it a try.

"A man named Jairus,
who was chief of the synagogue,
came up and fell at Jesus' feet,
begging that he come to his home
because his only daughter,
a girl of about 12, was dying."
Luke 8:41-42

Where do you go when you need help?
Do you try to fix things yourself?
Do you call on a relative or neighbor?
Go to the source of life.
Go to Jesus.
Fall at his feet and ask him.

(March 11, 2003 6:12 AM CST)

"Let all who take refuge in you
be glad and exult forever;
Protect them, that you may be
the joy of those who love your name."
Psalms 5:12

Jesus is joy.
He is your happiness.
He is your hope.
Take refuge in him.
He is your protection.

(March 10, 2003 6:20 AM CST)

"He called you through our preaching of the good news
so that you might achieve
the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."
2 Thessalonians 2:14

It is "March Madness" time.
One point can make all the difference.
Who gets the glory?
Is it the star player on the winning basketball team?
Seek the glory of God.
It never fades after everyone goes home.
Believe the good news of Jesus.
Jesus is your MVP.

(March 9, 2003 8:05 AM CST)

"Whoever possesses the Son
possesses life;
whoever does not possess the Son of God
does not possess life."
1 John 5:12

You need Jesus in your life.
It is that simple.
He is the way, the truth and the life.
Give your heart and soul to Jesus,
then you will find life.

(March 8, 2003 8:07 AM CST)

This morning I was looking at
pictures of Mount Kilimanjaro .
It is a very beautiful place that God has made.

"May the God of peace
make you perfect in holiness.
May he preserve you whole and entire,
spirit, soul and body,
irreproachable at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He who calls us is trustworthy,
therefore he will do it."
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

God calls you daily.
He calls you to holiness.
He wants to change you body and soul.
If you let him, he will do it.
You will be a new creation.
Trust the Lord.

(March 7, 2003 6:23 AM CST)

Philip asked the Ethiopian,
"Do you really grasp what you are reading?"
Acts 8:30

The Ethiopian was reading from Isaiah in the Bible,
but he did not understand what it was saying.
If you know much about the Bible,
explain it to others.
Point out things that you know.
Help them to see what God has done
and continues to do for us.

(March 6, 2003 6:19 AM CST)

"When noon came,
darkness fell on the whole countryside
and lasted until mid afternoon."
Mark 15:33

It was a dark day when Jesus died.
It seemed like the end of Jesus and his disciples.
He called out to God the Father,
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (verse 34)
It was a very sad day.
All that he talked about was lost.
And yet we know that 3 days later Jesus rose from the dead.
It was a miracle of miracles.
It was Resurrection Day.
On your darkest days there is still hope.
Call out to God.
Trust in Jesus.
The darkness will pass.

(March 5, 2003 6:20 AM CST)

"Beloved,
grow strong in your holy faith
through prayer in the Holy Spirit."
Jude 1:20

Today is Ash Wednesday.
We begin the season of Lent.
It is a time to focus our faith.
It is a time to renew our faith.
Take time for prayer and
think about all that the Holy Spirit
has done for you.
Put a cross on your desk at work or school
to remind you to pray.
I have this cross from Josephine that I will use.
It's only 2 or 3 inches tall.
It's just a little reminder.
You can say short prayers like,
"Jesus, I love you."
"Jesus, increase my faith."
"Jesus, lead me in the ways of truth."
"Thank you, Jesus, for my faith."
"Change me, Lord Jesus."

(March 4, 2003 6:23 AM CST)

"We pray for you always
that our God may make you worthy of his call,
and fulfill by his power
every honest intention and work of faith."
2 Thessalonians 1:11

I pray...
that you will do God's will.
that you will be led by the Holy Spirit.
that you will set a wonderful example of love.
that God will give you power.
that you will have unspeakable joy in your heart.

(March 3, 2003 6:22 AM CST)

"I solemnly assure you,
the man (or woman) who has faith in me
will do the works I do,
and greater far than these.
Why?
Because I go to the Father,
and whatever you ask in my name I will do,
so as to glorify the Father in the Son."
John 14:12-13

Jesus has told us to ask.
Ask him for what you need.
Ask for peace in the world.
Pray over people to be healed.
Give it all to Jesus.
Pray in the name of Jesus.

(March 2, 2003 7:36 AM CST)

My ear?
It's doing fine.
It is healing well.
The skin over my left clavicle is a little tight.
This is where the skin graft came from.
It hurts a little, but not too much.
I hold my left arm across my chest
to make it feel better.
Then the skin is not so tight over the clavicle.

Jesus told Peter and John,
"Just as you enter the city,
you will come upon a man carrying a water jar."
Luke 22:10

If you listen, Jesus will give you instructions.
He will guide you.
He will tell you things to watch for.
When you pray take time to listen.
He has much to say to you.

(March 1, 2003 8:40 AM CST)

Honor him.

Bless the name of the Lord.
He is worthy of all our praise.
