Love the Lord

Love your neighbor

Thank the Lord

Think of others

(December 31, 2003 6:17 AM CST)

Pray for someone in the hospital.
They are running tests on them today.
Thanks.

"Conduct yourselves in a way
worthy of the gospel of Christ."
Philippians 1:27

(Note: If you click on this link and
then click on "New International Version" and
then click on "Listen to this",
it will read this chapter of the Bible to you.
It is a wonderful chapter to listen to completely.)

Live right.
Follow Christ closely.
Keep under control.
When others look at you
they should see Christ.
Read the gospels.
Live the gospels.

(December 30, 2003 6:18 AM CST)

"Rising early the next morning,
Jesus went off to a lonely place in the desert;
there he was absorbed in prayer."
Mark 1:35

Find time to get away and pray.
Make time to pray.
Go away so you can be alone.
Find a quiet place.
Pray to Jesus.
Talk to him.
Pour out your heart to him.
Be absorbed in prayer.

(December 29, 2003 6:16 AM CST)

"Shall he who shaped the ear not hear
or he who formed the eye not see?"
Psalms 94:9

God sees all that is happening.
He is watching over us.
He is concerned.
Jesus will hear our prayers and respond.
He is faithful and true.

(December 28, 2003 7:22 AM CST)

"Alleluia!
Salvation, glory and might belong to our God,
for his judgments are true and just!"
Revelation 19:1-2

Look to the Lord.
He has the best perspective.
Go to him for guidance.
He will tell you the way things really are.
He is the source of truth and justice.
He is the King of kings and Lord of lords (verse 16).

(December 27, 2003 7:57 AM CST)

It is a warm morning for winter.
It is 50 F (10 C) degrees already.

"I pray that he will bestow on you
gifts in keeping with the riches of his glory.
May he strengthen you inwardly
through the working of his Spirit.
May Christ dwell in your hearts through faith,
and may charity be the root
and foundation of your life."
Ephesians 3:16-17

Maybe you feel you did not get the gifts
you were expecting for Christmas.
You are disappointed.
Well, God has a surprise for you.
You did get some gifts.
They are wonderful gifts.
Be open to the ways of God.
Many blessings happen at Christmas.
Open your eyes in faith and see.

(December 26, 2003 6:25 AM CST)

Here are some pictures from Christmas Day.
They are taken along Hwy L34 north of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Notice the traffic light in the second picture.
It usually is working.
At one point we had to take a detour
because they were rebuilding a bridge.
It is a very scenic drive through the Loess Hills
not far from Omaha.

Here on the morning after Christmas
you have the feeling that it is all over.
The thing is that it is just beginning.

"When the people saw him moving
and giving praise to God,
they recognized him as that beggar
who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate
of the temple.
They were struck with astonishment ---
utterly stupefied at what had happened to him."
Acts 3:9-10

God is amazing.
He is doing awesome things.
Recognize it is God.
Give him the glory.
Praise him for his greatness.
Be astonished.

(December 25, 2003 7:58 AM CST)

The sun is up.
It is Christmas Day here in Omaha.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

"This day in David's city
a savior has been born to you,
the Messiah and Lord.
Let this be a sign to you:
in a manger you will find an infant
wrapped in swaddling clothes."
Luke 2:11-12

He came to bring you joy, peace and happiness.
Jesus Christ has been born.
Wish Jesus a Happy Birthday today.
Merry Christmas!

(December 24, 2003 6:20 AM CST)

Here's a new Christmas song
from Sara Groves named
"Breath of Heaven" (6.8 MB).
It's a beautiful song.

Yesterday I was continuing to study about
Music Theory .
This link is a very good reference on music.
I read about Triads and Sevenths.
7 half-steps is a perfect fifth.

"I am Gabriel,
who stand in attendance before God.
I was sent to speak to you
and bring you this good news."
Luke 1:19

Are you ready for Christmas?
Have you forgotten anything?
Receive the good news about Jesus.
Take this first step.
Let him fill your heart.
Ask him in.
Then you will be ready.
Joy unspeakable will be yours.
Can you hear the music?
It will be perfect.

(December 23, 2003 6:21 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"Let the little children come to me.
Do not shut them off.
The reign of God belongs to such as these.
Trust me when I tell you that
whoever does not accept the kingdom of God
as a child will not enter into it."
Luke 18:16-17

Be a child.
See the wonder of Christmas.
Look at Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus.
He was born in a stable.
See the animals gathered around.
Hear the angels singing.
It is a strange setting.
He comes to the children.
Show your children baby Jesus.
Teach them all about him.

(December 22, 2003 6:20 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"Blest are your eyes because they see
and blest are your ears because they hear."
Matthew 13:16

We live in a blessed time.
Bibles are everywhere.
Christian churches are abundant.
The gospel is heard around the world
on the Internet and satellites.
Receive this good news.
See the Lord in those around you.
Hear the Word of God.
Live a blessed life.

(December 21, 2003 7:16 AM CST)

Here's some Christmas songs for you
starting with "Silent Night" .

The angel said to Joseph,
"Joseph, son of David,
have no fear about taking Mary as your wife.
It is by the Holy Spirit
that she conceived this child.
She is to have a son
and you are to name him Jesus
because he will save his people from their sins."
Matthew 1:20-21

Joseph did not know what to do.
Mary was pregnant.
He was going to divorce her quietly,
but that was not God's plan.
God sent an angel to Joseph with a message.
Joseph did what the Lord told him.
He accepted Mary as his wife.
He named the child Jesus some months later.
He pushed fear aside.
He trusted in God's words.
He was part of the plan to save us.

(December 20, 2003 7:59 AM CST)

Pray for someone who is very sick and near death.
This must be very hard for their family.
Pray for them.
God be with them.

"The plan of the Lord stands forever;
the design of his heart,
through all generations."
Psalms 33:11

God has a plan.
It is a wonderful plan.
You are part of the plan.
Will you participate?
Will you join in the celebration?
Come and see what the Lord has for you.
He made your heart.
He knows what is best for you.
Ask him.
He will surprise you.

(December 19, 2003 6:18 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"My heavenly Father
will treat you in exactly the same way
unless each of you forgives his brother
from his heart."
Matthew 18:35

Forgive, forgive, forgive.
Do it.
Forgive those who have hurt you.
It is good for your mind.
It is good for your heart.
It is good for your soul.
Forgive as Jesus forgives.
He is most loving and kind.
Follow his wonderful example on the cross.
He forgave those who were hurting him.

(December 18, 2003 6:24 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"I am the light of the world.
No follower of mine shall ever walk in darkness;
no, they shall possess the light of life."
John 8:12

Come to the light this Christmas.
See the bright star.
Don't stay in the darkness.
Follow Jesus.
Read what he said.
Walk with him.
He will light up your life.

(December 17, 2003 6:17 AM CST)

"The only stipulation was that
we should be mindful of the poor ---
the one thing that I was making
every effort to do."
Galatians 2:10

Do you ever think of the poor?
Do you help them in any way?
Do something for them.
Pray for them.
Ask God to bless them.
Help them in any way that you can.

(December 16, 2003 6:15 AM CST)

"May the God of peace
make you perfect in holiness.
May he preserve you whole and entire,
spirit, soul, and body,
irreproachable at the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He who calls us is trustworthy,
therefore he will do it."
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

You can't change yourself.
You need help.
You need the Lord.
He has called you.
He will do it.
He will hold you in his arms.
He will carry you.
Trust Jesus.

(December 15, 2003 6:20 AM CST)

"Day by day
the Lord added to their number
those who were being saved."
Acts 2:47

We pray for the faith to spread.
We pray for many people
to come to know Jesus.
The increase only comes from the Lord.
He is the great farmer.
He expects an abundant harvest.
Be planted.
Get some roots.
Grow in the Lord.

(December 14, 2003 7:43 AM CST)

It is amazing to watch the TV coverage this morning.
Saddam Hussein has been captured.
He has been on the run for 8 months.
May peace now come to the people of Iraq.

"You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart,
with all your soul,
with all your mind,
and with all your strength."
Mark 12:30

Love the Lord.
Give him your heart and soul.
Think about him often.
He is so wonderful.
He loves you very much.
Don't run from the Lord.
Run to him.

(December 13, 2003 8:07 AM CST)

"He let you be afflicted with hunger,
and then fed you with manna,
a food unknown to you and your fathers,
in order to show you
that not by bread alone does man live,
but by every word that comes forth
from the mouth of the Lord."
Deuteronomy 8:3

Read the word of God.
Read the Bible.
These are eternal words.
Taste them and see.
They give life.
They reveal the mystery of the ages.
Don't stay hungry.
Come and be fed.

(December 12, 2003 6:23 AM CST)

"Praise the name of the Lord..."
Psalms 135:1

Give praise to God.
Lift up your hands and voices.
Sing your praises to the Lord.
Sing a joyful song.
Bless the holy name of Jesus.
He is worthy of all your praise.

(December 11, 2003 6:22 AM CST)

"In the Lord's eyes,
one day is as a thousand years
and a thousand years are as a day."
2 Peter 3:8

God is beyond time.
He is eternal.
He always was and will always be.
Your soul will live forever.
Do you want to be with God forever
or separated from him?
You can choose.
This is called free will.
Choose to live with God.
Follow his ways that lead to eternal life.
Don't turn away from the Lord.
You will be very sad for a very long time.

(December 10, 2003 6:19 AM CST)

Good morning.
We had our first snow in Omaha.
It is about 5 inches deep.
It is windy and cold outside.
Most of the schools are closed.

"...when the designated time had come,
God sent forth his Son born of a woman..."
Galatians 4:4

God has a plan.
He is in control.
He sent his Son (Jesus) 2,000 years ago.
His timing is perfect.
Today you still have access to this gift.
Jesus will come into your heart today.
All you have to do is ask.
Today is your designated time.
Jesus, come into my heart today.
Change me.
Make me a new creation.
Heal my body and soul.
Forgive my sins.
I need you.
Come, Lord Jesus.

(December 9, 2003 6:17 AM CST)

"I am a voice in the desert, crying out:
Make straight the way of the Lord!"
John 1:23

John the Baptist announced someone was coming.
He would prepare the way.
He would inform the people.
Are you ready?
Is your heart in the right state?
Be open to the Lord.
He wants to come straight into your heart.
Listen to what John says.
Be ready to receive a great gift this Christmas.

(December 8, 2003 6:18 AM CST)

"Jesus asked his disciples this question:
'Who do people say that I am?'"
Mark 8:27

How do you look at Jesus?
Was he a good person?
Was he a great teacher?
He definitely changed the world.
What do you think?
Jesus was God.
He came to earth.
He became a man.
He became one of us.
He offered his life for us on the cross.
We owe a lot to him.
He is the Son of God.
He is Lord of all.
Let us praise him.

(December 7, 2003 7:15 AM CST)

Lately I hear a lot of people singing
"O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" .

"The Lord himself will give you this sign:
the virgin shall be with child,
and bear a son,
and shall name him Immanuel."
Isaiah 7:14

The prophet Isaiah told us about this wonderful sign.
A woman (Mary) would have a child.
She would be a virgin.
This is the virgin birth.
A boy (Jesus) would be born.
He would save his people.
Many would come to worship him.
There is so much to think about.
Come, Immanuel.
Come and change us.
Come and save us from our sins.

(December 6, 2003 7:54 AM CST)

"Jesus poured water into a basin
and began to wash his disciples' feet
and dry them with the towel
he had around him."
John 13:5

It is a strange scene.
Jesus is Lord of all the universe
and here he is washing some people's feet.
It is something to think about.
Why would he do such a thing?
He is setting an example.
We should serve others.
We need to be of service.
We should humble ourselves.
Could you do that?

(December 5, 2003 6:18 AM CST)

The second program of Billy Graham's TV special
is based on this scripture passage.

"God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him may not die
but may have eternal life."
John 3:16

It is about life ---
life with God or life without God.
Do you want to be with Jesus forever?
Believe in him.
Trust in him.
You do not have to fear death.
He has overcome death.
He offers you life without end.
Give your heart to Jesus.

(December 4, 2003 6:22 AM CST)

The first program of Billy Graham's TV special
is based on this scripture passage.

"May I never boast of anything,
but the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ!"
Galatians 6:14

Many people wear crosses around their necks.
It is a very common sight.
You wonder if they know what it means.
Jesus died on the cross.
It was a horrible death.
He suffered greatly.
He was showing his great love for us.
He did not have to die on the cross,
but he loved us that much.
He saved us from death because of our sins.
Ask Jesus to forgive your sins today.
Give the cross meaning.
He rose from the dead.
He gives you new life for all eternity.
Stare at the cross and
see the great love that God has for you.

(December 3, 2003 6:20 AM CST)

"Herod was extremely pleased to see Jesus.
From the reports about him he had wanted
for a long time to see him,
and he was hoping to see him work some miracle.
He questioned Jesus at considerable length,
but Jesus made no answer."
Luke 23:8-9

Here was Jesus in person.
Herod had all these questions for him.
He was so close and yet so far away.
Jesus is that close to you today.
He is everywhere.
You can ask him your questions.
He will respond to you, if you ask sincerely.
Herod was curious,
but had no intention of changing his life.
Be open to what Jesus has to say to you.
Be sincere.

(December 2, 2003 6:14 AM CST)

"I lift up my eyes toward the mountains;
whence shall help come to me?
My help is from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth."
Psalms 121:1-2

Look up.
We are so depressed in our culture.
Look to the mountains.
Gaze on the heavens.
Your help comes from the Lord.
He will lift you up.
He is hope for all generations.

(December 1, 2003 6:13 AM CST)

"To the victor I will give the hidden manna;
I will also give him a white stone
upon which is inscribed a new name,
to be known only by him who receives it."
Revelation 2:17

There is victory in Christ.
Believe in him.
Place your trust in him.
He is the pure white stone rejected by many.
He is the bread of life to feed you in the desert.
He gives you a new name and calls you to new life.
Receive this great gift.

Stacie Orrico says,
"There's gotta be more to life" .
Take a listen.
