Trust the Lord

Find eternal life

Live for Jesus

Love the Lord

God is love

(February 29, 2004 7:20 AM CST)

Yesterday I downloaded Web Matrix Project .
It helps you develop ASP.NET applications.
I'm going through the guided tour.
It looks like a very useful tool.

Happy Leap Day!
Go to church today and praise the Lord!

"Peter said to the cripple:
'I have neither silver nor gold,
but what I have I give you!
In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, walk!'
Then Peter took him by the right hand
and pulled him up.
Immediately the beggar's feet
and ankles became strong;
he jumped up, stood for a moment,
then began to walk around.
He went into the temple with them ---
walking, jumping about and praising God."
Acts 3:6-8

Get up.
Leap for joy.
The Lord has given you a great gift.
It is not something you can buy.
It is priceless.
He has given you the gift of faith.
Take this faith and run with it.
Praise the Lord.

(February 28, 2004 8:09 AM CST)

"This is the day the Lord has made;
let us be glad and rejoice in it."
Psalms 118:24

Be joyful.
Be glad.
Rejoice in knowing that Jesus loves you.
You are loved.
He is watching over you and your family.
He cares about you.
He will take care of you.
He has provided for your future with him forever.
Rejoice today.
God is good.

(February 27, 2004 6:19 AM CST)

Lately I have been studying ASP.NET for work.
It looks very interesting.

Today is trash pickup day in my neighborhood.
God bless all those people who
pickup the trash and recyclables.

"Dismiss all anxiety from your minds."
Philippians 4:6

Do you live in fear?
Are you worried about many things?
Trust in the Lord and his power.
He is in control.
He will take care of you and your family.

(February 26, 2004 6:16 AM CST)

Yesterday I saw many people around
downtown Omaha with ashes on their foreheads.
There is a church at 19th and Dodge Streets.
It is a reminder that someday
we will return to the dust of the earth.

"By the sweat of your brow
shall you get bread to eat,
Until you return to the ground,
from which you were taken;
For you are dust,
and to dust you shall return."
Genesis 3:19

We are only here a short time.
Make each day count.
Offer your work up to the Lord.
Be honest and ethical.
Do a good job for the glory of God.

(February 25, 2004 6:18 AM CST)

This is one of the most anticipated
Ash Wednesdays I can ever remember in my life
due to Mel Gibson's film.
May this be a time of prayer and reflection.
May we come closer to knowing Jesus Christ.

"God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him
may not die
but many have eternal life."
John 3:16

Jesus, teach us more about you.
Teach us about true love.
Show us what is truly important in this life.
Change us.
Make us more like you.

(February 24, 2004 6:19 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"Say to them,
'The reign of God is at hand.'"
Luke 10:9

Now is the time.
God is here.
He is here in all his power.
Listen to him.
Follow him.

(February 23, 2004 6:12 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"A man was giving a large dinner
and he invited many.
At dinnertime he sent his servant
to say to those invited,
'Come along, everything is ready now.'
But they began to excuse themselves,
one and all."
Luke 14:16-18

God sends you an invitation.
He invites you to the dinner.
Will you respond?
Will you join him?
Don't make up excuses.
Come and see.

(February 22, 2004 7:16 AM CST)

Yesterday I called 888-567-8688 Option 2 .
This will stop some of the junk mail you get
for credit card offers.
I get a few each week.

"Jesus was teaching his disciples in this vein:
'The Son of Man is going to be delivered
into the hands of men who will put him to death;
three days after his death he will rise.'
Though they failed to understand his words,
they were afraid to question him."
Mark 9:31-32

It is hard to understand.
Why did Jesus have to die?
Couldn't he save us a different way?
It was so violent.
He wanted to show his love for us.
He loves us that much.
It is an amazing love.
Jesus, thank you for loving us that much!

(February 21, 2004 7:52 AM CST)

"I love you, O Lord, my strength,
O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
My God, my rock of refuge,
my shield, the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold!"
Psalms 18:2-3

Praise the Lord.
Tell him that you love him.
He is a fortress of strength.
Stand tall.
Be strong in Christ Jesus.
He will deliver you.

(February 20, 2004 6:18 AM CST)

It is a windy morning,
so hold on.
I can hear the roar outside
from time to time.

"We pray for you always
that our God may
make you worthy of his call,
and fulfill by his power
every honest intention
and work of faith."
2 Thessalonians 1:11

Be positive.
Write down a list of spiritual goals.
Look up.
God will help you with your intentions.
Spread the faith.
You are called.

(February 19, 2004 6:19 AM CST)

"I have been crucified with Christ,
and the life I live now
is not my own;
Christ is living in me."
Galatians 2:19-20

When you are born again
it is like you have died.
The old "you" is gone.
New life springs up.
Jesus comes to dwell in your heart.
You become a new creation.
Find new life in Jesus.

(February 18, 2004 6:18 AM CST)

"A man named Jairus,
who was chief of the synagogue,
came up and fell at Jesus' feet,
begging that he come to his home
because his only daughter,
a girl of about twelve, was dying."
Luke 8:41-42

Beg Jesus to come to your house.
Welcome him in.
You need him.
Your family needs him.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Visit us.
Miracles will happen.

(February 17, 2004 6:15 AM CST)

"We are not among those who draw back and perish,
but among those who have faith and live."
Hebrews 10:39

Press on.
Continue on the journey.
Yes, it is hard at times.
Jesus is with you.
He is by your side.
You will make it.
Jesus, increase our faith today.
Give us the strength that we need.

(February 16, 2004 6:21 AM CST)

"You form a building
which rises on the foundation
of the apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.
Through him the whole structure
is fitted together and takes shape
as a holy temple in the Lord;
in him you are being built into this temple,
to become a dwelling place for God in the Spirit."
Ephesians 2:20-22

God is an architect.
He is busy building.
Will you be part of the structure?
Will you take your place?
We need you.
God needs you.
Be part of this holy building.

(February 15, 2004 8:02 AM CST)

It's cold out there.
The radio guy said it is -6 F degrees.
The Internet says -8 F degrees.
The Weather Channel on cable says -7 F degrees.

There is a lot of talk today about:
Who killed Jesus?
Was it the Jews?
Was it the Romans?

Jesus said,
"The Father loves me for this:
that I lay down my life
to take it up again.
No one takes it from me;
I lay it down freely.
I have power to lay it down,
and I have power to take it up again.
This command I received from my Father."
John 10:17-18

Jesus could have stopped the people from killing him.
He has the power.
He submitted his life to the will of the Father.
He was a sacrifice for our sins.
In a sense we killed Jesus.
We are guilty.
The blood of Jesus sets you free.
Ask Jesus to forgive your sins.
That is why he came to earth to set you free.

In the end Jesus said,
"Father, forgive them;
they do not know what they are doing."
Luke 23:34

He even forgave those who killed him.

(February 14, 2004 8:12 AM CST)

Happy Valentine's Day!
Know that God loves you very much.

"God is love,
and he who abides in love
abides in God,
and God in him."
1 John 4:16

There it is.
That is the way to find love.
Seek God.
Seek the Lord.
People search high and low for love.
Turn to the Lord Jesus.
He loves you very much.
He is the lover of your soul.
You can listen to this song on this link:
"3. Darlene Zschech - Jesus Lover of My soul" .

(February 13, 2004 6:20 AM CST)

"At every opportunity pray in the Spirit,
using prayers and petitions of every sort.
Pray constantly and attentively
for all in the holy company."
Ephesians 6:18

Pray.
Do you ever pray?
Talk to God.
Tell him how you feel.
Tell him about your concerns.
Ask him to bless you and your family.
Listen for the Spirit's response.
Receive his consolation.
God be with you always.

(February 12, 2004 6:22 AM CST)

"Let no one look down on you
because of your youth,
but be a continuing example
of love, faith and purity to believers."
1 Timothy 4:12

You may be young in age,
but you are important.
You have much to contribute.
The Lord is with you.
You can do amazing things.
Be an example.

(February 11, 2004 6:15 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"I assure you,
there is no man born of woman
greater than John.
Yet the least born into the kingdom of God
is greater than he."
Luke 7:28

John the Baptist was great.
He was a tremendous prophet of God.
He pointed to Jesus in person.
He baptized Jesus.
How great can you get?
And yet by being born again we are greater.
Ask Jesus to come into your heart.
Ask him to forgive your sins.
Be born again.
Be great in the kingdom of God.

(February 10, 2004 6:21 AM CST)

"...for many days thereafter
Jesus appeared to those
who had come up with him
from Galilee to Jerusalem.
These are his witnesses
now before the people."
Acts 13:31

Be a witness.
You have seen Jesus.
You have met him.
You have walked with him.
Tell someone about your best friend.
Be before the people.

(February 9, 2004 6:24 AM CST)

"Test yourselves to see
whether you are living in faith;
examine yourselves."
2 Corinthians 13:5

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you.
We all need correction.
We need guidance.
Keep on the path that leads to Jesus.
He is the holy one.
Be like him.

(February 8, 2004 6:30 AM CST)

Jesus stood up and cried out:
"If anyone thirsts, let him come to me;
let him drink who believes in me.
Scripture has it:
'From within him
rivers of living water shall flow.'"
John 7:37-38

Are you thirsty?
Are you searching?
Come to the living water.
Jesus is the fullness of life.
New doors will open.
There will be new joy.
Find living water in Jesus.

Note: Click on the link above
then "New International Version"
then "Listen to this."
The person doing the reading is very good.
Then follow along with the words in the text.

(February 7, 2004 6:58 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"By patient endurance
you will save your lives."
Luke 21:19

Live for Jesus daily.
It is a daily walk.
Be patient.
Ask Jesus to change you.
Jesus, make me a new creation.
Change my heart and soul.
I give my life to you.

(February 6, 2004 6:16 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"Some seed, finally, landed on good soil
and yielded grain that sprang up to produce
at a rate of thirty and sixty and a hundredfold."
Mark 4:8

Growth.
Grow spiritually.
Become tall in the faith.
Flower and bloom into something beautiful.
Be planted in Jesus.

(February 5, 2004 6:25 AM CST)

Omaha has so much snow now
that the streets are getting
narrower in places.
There are "mountains" of snow lining most streets.
Pedestrians have to walk in the street
because of the buried sidewalks.
People are having problems seeing
around the mountains to pull out into traffic safely.
And we are getting more snow today.

"I will bless you while I live;
lifting up my hands,
I will call upon your name."
Psalms 63:5

Now is the time to praise the Lord.
Lift up your hands in worship.
Attend church each week.
Call on the Lord for your daily needs.
You will be blessed.

(February 4, 2004 6:17 AM CST)

"When the Lamb broke open the seventh seal,
there was silence in heaven
for about half an hour.
Then, as I watched,
the seven angels who minister
in God's presence
were given seven trumpets."
Revelation 8:1-2

Be still.
Listen to the Lamb of God.
Go into his presence.
Join the angels in worship.
The Lord will reveal great revelations.
Listen.

(February 3, 2004 6:16 AM CST)

God bless Chad and his friend.
They came by yesterday and
snowblowed my driveway for me.
They were an answer to prayer.
My back was hurting so bad from shoveling,
I couldn't do it myself.
It would have taken me days to finish.
Thank the Lord for answering my prayer.

Jesus said to Nathanael,
"You will see much greater things than that."
John 1:50

God is a God of wonders.
Expect great things.
Expect him to surprise you.
He hears your prayers and will answer them.
Praise the Lord.

(February 2, 2004 6:16 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"A kingdom torn by strife
is headed for its downfall."
Matthew 12:25

Jesus is more powerful than demons.
It is no match.
It is not even close.
God created all things.
He is Lord of all.
Go to Jesus to put evil in its place.
He is almighty.
Jesus, help me to lead a holy life.

(February 1, 2004 6:44 AM CST)

"I, the Lord, am your God
who lead you forth from the land of Egypt;
open wide your mouth,
and I will fill it."
Psalms 81:11

Let the Lord lead you.
He will lead you to safety.
There is a new land ahead.
Follow him.
He will feed you.
He will sustain you.
He is your hope for the future.
