Yesterday at 4:30 PM all the lights went out at work.
We have no windows in our area.
It was very dark.
It was scary.
I was trying to figure out how to grab my things
and get out of the building.
It was panic time for a few seconds.
After about 30 seconds the lights came back on.
I grabbed my things and walked down the stairs.
Outside in the alley you could hear the generators running.
Afterwards I wanted to tell someone about the experience.
I wanted to tell the people at the bus stop or on the bus.

"Peter and John answered,
'Judge for yourselves
whether it is right in God's sight
to us to obey you rather than God.
Surely we cannot help speaking
of what we have heard and seen.'"
Acts 4:19-20

How can you keep silent
about all that you know about the Lord?
You just have to tell someone.
Speak up.

Forgive others.
It is hard, but you must do it.
Jesus has forgiven you.
You in turn forgive other people.
This is important.

My brother found the missing flash drive
last night in his front yard
when he was mowing the lawn.
Good thing it was silver and he saw it.

"Then one of the Twelve whose name was Judas Iscariot
went off to the chief priests and said,
'What are you willing to give me
if I hand him over to you?'
They paid him 30 pieces of silver,
and from that time on he kept looking
for an opportunity to hand him over."
Matthew 26:14-16

It is sad that someone so close to Jesus betrayed him.
How could that happen?
What went wrong?
Judas saw the miracles and healings.
He heard Jesus speak to the crowds.
It is hard to understand.
All for some silver.

Yesterday I lost my old 128 MB flash drive.
I might have lost it at the Mall of the Bluffs .
I will have to call them today and see if it was turned in.
Maybe it is around my house somewhere or in my car.
I was trying to think if anything important was on it.
There are pictures of my trip to Wyoming and Colorado in July.
There are old versions of my Sudoku program source code.

This was the reading last evening at Cathedral .

"As for me and my household,
we will serve the Lord."
Joshua 24:15

Yes, may your house be dedicated to the Lord.
Give Jesus first place in your home.
Pray together as a family.
Serve the Lord with joy and gladness.

It looks like a very useful tool.

We have one constant.
We have Jesus to look up to.
He has been here a long time.
He is right here with us now.
He is not going away.

Yesterday I parked at 94th and Dodge
and after work I got off the bus at
90th and Dodge and crossed the street there.
That helped a lot.
It is much safer to cross there than at 93rd.
I did get a little warm walking to the car.

I mowed the yard last night with a dust mask on.
I looked like a dork.
But what can you do?
It is allergy season.
I can't be outside too long this time of the year
or I start sneezing uncontrollably.
I bought a new filter for my air purifier
over the Internet a week ago.
That helps with the pollen that gets inside the house.

"We know that God makes all things work together
for the good of those who love God
and are called according to his decree."
Romans 8:28

Somehow things will work out for you.
You have faith in the Lord.
You love God.
He is watching over you.
He is taking care of you.
Things will come together.

Yesterday morning I was in shock.
I received an email telling me about
someone I used to work for had died.
I was praying for them every morning.
God be with them and their family today.

I did an "experiment" yesterday.
I parked my car near 93rd and Dodge in Omaha
and took the bus to work.
There were no problems in the morning,
but after work trying to cross Dodge Street
was very scary.
It was like crossing a 4-lane interstate highway.
People eastbound on Dodge drive very fast.
I won't do that again.

Jesus said,
"Be on your guard.
Let no one mislead you."
Mark 13:5

Be careful what you listen to and read.
Many people will take you away from the Lord.
Guard your faith.
Be watchful.

Pray together.
Pray in your church.
Pray in your house or apartment or dorm.
Jesus is there in your midst.
He is with you.

yesterday.
You would think that Pastor Les
is going to change jobs.
This is from one of the sermons.

Jesus said,
"Come to me, all you who are weary
and find life burdensome,
and I will refresh you.
Take my yoke upon your shoulders
and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble of heart.
Your souls will find rest,
for my yoke is easy and my burden light."
Matthew 11:28-30

Learn from Jesus.
He is there.
He will help you.
He will lift the burden from your shoulders.
Go to him.
Give him your burden.
You will find rest for your soul.

It was very interesting to program it.

Yesterday I bought a SanDisk 2 GB flash drive at
Best Buy at 75th and Dodge after work.
It was only $45.
I ran a test last night.
It takes about 20 minutes to copy 1 GB
to the flash drive.

Grow in faith.
Progress in holiness.
Advance in grace.
Increase in knowledge of God.
Be progressive.

to come to know Jesus.

I "fried" one of the new light bulbs yesterday.
You can't connect them to a dimmer switch.
That destroys the light bulb.

The Lord does not give up.
He is looking for you.
He will not rest until he finds you.
Why be lost?
Be found.

Yesterday I went to Menards in Omaha.
I bought 3 Sylvania fluorescent light bulbs.
I put one here in the computer room.
The light is tinted a little blue.
They use less electricity.
They cost about $4 each, but they last 7 years.
There is a warning message that they contain mercury .

"But God, who gives heart to those who are low in spirit,
gave me strength with the arrival of Titus."
2 Corinthians 7:6

If you are low in spirit, turn to the Lord.
He will lift you up.
He will send you strength.
He will send someone to help you.

It is different.
We are not used to it raining.

Open your heart to the Lord.
Ask him to show you some ways to improve.
The Lord calls you to holiness.
Will you follow in his steps?
Be serious.
