October, 2006

Be holy as the Lord is holy
Think of others

God is love

Think of heaven

God's grace is enough for you

Thank the Lord

(October 31, 2006 Tue 6:14 AM CST)

I just started up Vista RC1 on my PC and
the clock is off by an hour,
so I had to manually adjust it
for Daylight Savings Time.

"On the Lord's day
I was caught up in ecstasy,
and I heard behind me
a piercing voice like
the sound of a trumpet..."
Revelation 1:10

Open your eyes and see the glory of the Lord.
He is here in your midst.
He speaks to you.
Look around and see.

(October 30, 2006 Mon 6:19 AM CST)

"May God our Father
give you grace and peace."
Colossians 1:2

Sounds so simple.
Grace and peace.
Do you have them?
Do you have a life of grace?
Is there peace in your life?
Invite Jesus in.
He will give you grace and peace
and so much more.

(October 29, 2006 Sun 7:26 AM CST)

"See, I write to you
in my own large handwriting!"
Galatians 6:11

Paul usually dictated his letters to others
and they wrote it down for him.
In Galatians he wrote the words himself.
Do you ever write to people?
Do you ever send an email to anyone?
Use your own words and tell them about Jesus.
See your own words in writing.

(October 28, 2006 Sat 9:54 AM CDT)

"Do not neglect good deeds and generosity;
God is pleased by sacrifices of that kind."
Hebrews 13:16

A very good idea.
Be generous.
Be thoughtful.
Do a good deed for someone today.

(October 27, 2006 Fri 7:53 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"If anyone should ask you,
'Why are you untying the beast?'
say, 'The Master has need of it.'"
Luke 19:31

Will you be of service to the Lord?
He needs you.
Will you do your part?
Be open to what the Lord asks of you.

(October 26, 2006 Thu 6:17 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Get hold of yourselves!
It is I.
Do not be afraid!"
Mark 6:50

Do not be afraid.
Jesus is here.
He will protect you.
He is watching over you and your family.

(October 25, 2006 Wed 6:11 AM CDT)

"Therefore Jesus is always able to save those
who approach God through him,
since he forever lives to make intercession for them."
Hebrews 7:25

Jesus is there for you.
He will save you.
You can live forever with him.
What more could you ask for?
It is a wonderful gift just for you.

(October 24, 2006 Tue 6:15 AM CDT)

"Listen, dear brothers and sisters.
Did not God choose those
who are poor in the eyes of the world
to be rich in faith and
heirs of the kingdom
he promised to those who love him?"
James 2:5

Look to the poor.
Help them.
Treat them with respect.
They are rich in faith.
Learn from them.

(October 23, 2006 Mon 6:11 AM CDT)

Jesus said to them,
"To other towns I must announce
the good news of the reign of God,
because that is why I was sent."
Luke 4:43

Jesus has come into the world.
He announces good news to you.
He is joy for you each morning.
Welcome him into your life.

(October 22, 2006 Sun 8:12 AM CDT)

Yesterday I listened to this sermon (10/15/06) from TC .
He talked about Martin Wolk .
Martin was in the World Trade Center on 9/11/01.
He went home to his family in Seattle.
He changed priorities.

This is from the sermon.

"If anyone does not provide for his own relatives
and especially for members of his immediate family,
he has denied the faith;
he is worse than an unbeliever."
1 Timothy 5:8

Take care of your family.
Be of service to them.
Focus on them and their needs.
Listen to them.
Comfort them.

(October 21, 2006 Sat 7:58 AM CDT)

If you do a google.com search for "free sudoku program",
I am on page 3 of the results.
Hey, cool.

"The crowds asked John,
'What ought we to do?'
In reply he said,
'Let the person with 2 coats
give to those who have none.
The person who has food
should do the same.'"
Luke 3:10-11

Remember the poor.
Give clothes to them.
Give them food.
Help them in the name of Jesus.

(October 20, 2006 Fri 7:27 AM CDT)

"Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done wondrous deeds..."
Psalms 98:1

It is a new day.
It will be full of surprises.
Invite the Lord to be with you.
Keep your eyes open.
He is at work in people's lives.
It is a wonderful thing to witness.

(October 19, 2006 Thu 6:12 AM CDT)

"God has willed to make known to them
the glory beyond price
which this mystery brings to the Gentiles ---
the mystery of Christ in you,
your hope of glory."
Colossians 1:27

The mystery is given to you.
Christ comes into your heart.
He dwells with you.
Will you invite him in?
It is a glory beyond price.

(October 18, 2006 Wed 6:16 AM CDT)

"Those things I used to consider gain
I have now reappraised as loss
in the light of Christ."
Philippians 3:7

How important are material things to you?
How tightly do you hold onto them?
Let go.
Free up your hands to receive
all that God has to give to you.
He has many blessings for you.
See the light.

(October 17, 2006 Tue 6:10 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"When you stand to pray,
forgive anyone against whom
you have a grievance,
so that your heavenly Father
may in turn forgive you your faults."
Mark 11:25

Forgive others.
We all make mistakes.
Be a forgiving person.
Have an understanding heart.
Forgive with the help of Jesus.

(October 16, 2006 Mon 6:09 AM CDT)

"Make it a point of honor
to remain at peace and
attend to your own affairs.
Work with your hands
as we directed you to do,
so that you will give good example to outsiders
and want for nothing."
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

People are watching you.
Give a good example.
You are a Christian.
What does a Christian do?
What are you telling them by your actions?
Do good work at home, school and business.
The Lord will bless you.
Give glory to God.

(October 15, 2006 Sun 8:35 AM CDT)

I drove east on the new bridge at 120th and West Dodge Road
on Friday the first day it was open.
You are up in the air bypassing everything below.
I wonder how the businesses will do at 114th Street?

Right now I'm copying all the pictures of spring2life.com
to my new hard drive to back them up.
There are 1257 pictures.
It takes awhile to do it.

Peter said,
"God has brought to fulfillment by this means
what he announced long ago though all the prophets:
that his Messiah would suffer.
Therefore, reform your lives!
Turn to God,
that your sins may be wiped away!
Thus may a season of refreshment be granted you
by the Lord when he sends you Jesus,
already designated as your Messiah."
Acts 3:18-20

Jesus, forgive my sins.
Thank you for giving your life for mine.
You are wonderful.
Thank you for a new season in my life.
I turn to you for help.
I need you.

(October 14, 2006 Sat 8:24 AM CDT)

This morning I'm testing out the new
Vista RC1 .
I loaded it yesterday on my new PC.
So far I'm not too impressed,
but I will give it a chance.
It does look nice.
The graphics are neat.
The cursor disappears over the Putty window.
It becomes nearly invisible.
It is very hard to see.

I took in my old computer yesterday to
DIT Computers .
It is $50 just to look at it.
I'm not sure if they can fix it or not.
Well, they probably can.
It will take about a week to get to it they said.

I updated my Sudoku program yesterday.
It will now guess every number that is left.
This is fun.
It now tells you guesses that are right and
guesses that are wrong and can be eliminated.

"Jesus turned to them and said:
'Daughters of Jerusalem,
do not weep for me.
Weep for yourselves
and for your children.'"
Luke 23:28

It is interesting what Jesus says.
They are worried about him and
he is instead all worried about them.
He cares about you.
He thinks about you.
Do you think about him?

(October 13, 2006 Fri 7:22 AM CDT)

"Mary treasured all these things
and reflected on them in her heart."
Luke 2:19

Do you think about the Lord?
Do you wonder about Jesus?
He has done many great things.
He saved you and me.
He gave his life for us.
He is amazing.

(October 12, 2006 Thu 6:08 AM CDT)

"If one of you is wise and understanding,
let them show this in practice
through a humility
filled with good sense."
James 3:13

Does it make sense?
Does what you are doing make any sense?
Ask the Lord to confirm your action.
Does it pass the test?
Ask the Lord for wisdom and understanding.
Do what is right.

(October 11, 2006 Wed 6:20 AM CDT)

"Owe no debt to anyone
except the debt that binds us
to love one another.
Those who love their neighbor
have fulfilled the law."
Romans 13:8

It is hard.
You have to think of someone besides yourself.
You have to be thoughtful.
The Lord asks you to love your neighbor.
It will make the world a better place.

(October 10, 2006 Tue 6:10 AM CDT)

I got one hard drive copied last night.
Now I need to copy another one.

"The Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us,
and we have seen his glory:
The glory of an only Son coming
from the Father,
filled with enduring love."
John 1:14

Praise the Holy Trinity.
There are 3 persons in one God.
It is very hard to understand,
but that is what Jesus taught us.
It takes faith to believe this.
Jesus, help us to understand who you are.

(October 9, 2006 Mon 6:18 AM CDT)

Well, my brother gave me a PCI card ,
so I can read my old hard drive
to copy it to my new hard drive.
That helps.

Jesus said,
"Blessed are you poor;
the reign of God is yours.
Blessed are you who hunger;
you shall be filled.
Blessed are you who are weeping;
you shall laugh."
Luke 6:20-21

The Lord does not think like us.
The poor have the reign of God.
What do the rich have?
It is a scary thought.
It is blessed to be hungry.

(October 8, 2006 Sun 6:55 AM CDT)

It took about 12 hours yesterday to download
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 to my new PC.
I burned a DVD of the information.
I reinstalled it this morning.
I use this to write my Sudoku program .
I just loaded the code9 project from a flash drive.
It is not the most current version of code9.
The most current version is on this old hard drive.
The project compiles faster.
The testing is faster.
Now I need to figure out how to copy the files on
my old hard drive to my new hard drive.
I opened up the computer to look at the wires
and find the hard drive.
It was overwhelming.
I closed it back up.
I should take a picture of it.
Please, stand by.
OK, here is what it looks like.

See what I mean?
The picture is a little out of focus,
but you see all the wires here and there.
To get to anything you would have to
start taking it apart
starting with that green piece.
Speaking of Sudoku --- I bought this game.
It has 81 pieces of 9 colors.

It is very colorful, just like my flying fish.
Does it help solve Sudoku puzzles?
Well, sometimes and sometimes not.
You just guess where the colors go.

"You know well enough that such trials
are our common lot.
When we were still with you,
we used to warn you
that we would undergo trial;
now it has happened,
and you know what we meant."
1 Thessalonians 3:3-4

The Christian life is a challenge.
It is not easy.
It will be difficult.
But the Lord is there every step of the way.
Hang in there.

(October 7, 2006 Sat 8:04 AM CDT)

"Coming within sight of Jerusalem,
Jesus wept over it and said:
'If only you had known
the path to peace this day;
but you have completely lost it from view!'"
Luke 19:41-42

Even in the time of Jesus
Jerusalem was having problems.
It continues to this day.
It is a troubled place.
We pray for peace in that part of the world.
Jesus, bring peace to Jerusalem.

(October 6, 2006 Fri 7:39 AM CDT)

"The grace of the Lord has appeared,
offering salvation to all people."
Titus 2:11

The gift is offered to all people.
It is a free gift.
You have only to open your heart and receive it.
Pray for Jesus to come into your life.
Jesus, come into my life.

(October 5, 2006 Thu 6:17 AM CDT)

"All Scripture is inspired of God
and is useful for teaching ---
for reproof, correction, and
training in holiness
so that the man/woman of God
may be fully competent and
equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17

Read the Bible.
Know what it says.
It will equip you.
It will give you wisdom.
It will lead you to the truth.
It is inspired by God.
Go to school.

(October 4, 2006 Wed 6:20 AM CDT)

"God granted Joseph favor and wisdom
in the court of the Pharaoh,
king of Egypt, and made him
governor of Egypt and of the
Pharaoh's entire household."
Acts 7:10

May God grant you favor today.
May God bless you.
May he lead your life.
May he give you wisdom.
Be open to the Lord and his ways.

(October 3, 2006 Tue 6:16 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"My Father is at work until now,
and I am at work as well."
John 5:17

Jesus is looking over you.
He is concerned about you.
You have nothing to fear.
Pray to Jesus.

(October 2, 2006 Mon 6:09 AM CDT)

I am sad.
My computer is sick again.
It is running very very slow.
I guess I will have to buy a new PC
or get it fixed.

Jesus said,
"I assure you,
there is something greater than
the temple here."
Matthew 12:6

Jesus had come.
Some recognized him and some did not.
He was God.
He is most important.
Worship him.

(October 1, 2006 Sun 7:57 AM CDT)

Well, I reloaded the OS on my PC and
it is working again.
It only took 2 or 3 hours yesterday.
There must be an easier way to fix the problem.
You load the OS from a CD and
then run all these Microsoft updates.

"Help us, O God our Savior,
because of the glory of your name;
Deliver us and pardon our sins
for your name's sake."
Psalms 79:9

Jesus, please forgive our sins.
We call on your name.
Help us, Lord.
We need you.
Deliver us.
Forgive us.
