March, 2007

God is great
Praise the Lord

Seek the Lord for answers

Ask and you shall receive

Know Jesus and know love

Pray for a miracle

(March 31, 2007 Sat 9:02 AM CDT)

I just read this from a few years ago.
Attitude is Everything .
We make choices.
Choose Jesus.

"One who is a teacher
should use their gift for teaching;
one with the power of exhortation
should exhort.
One who gives alms
should do so generously;
one who rules
should exercise their authority with care;
one who performs works of mercy
should do so cheerfully."
Romans 12:7-8

God has blessed you with talents.
You are a unique creation.
No one is like you.
I often think of this as I am
walking at the mall and see
all the different people.
Do what the Lord made you to do.
Do it cheerfully.

(March 30, 2007 Fri 6:31 AM CDT)

Jesus asked,
"Why look at the speck in your brother's eye
when you miss the plank in your own?"
Luke 6:41

Don't look at others.
Look at Jesus.
He is the one to keep an eye on.
He is the one to look at.
He is your inspiration.
Try to be like him.

(March 29, 2007 Thu 6:20 AM CDT)

When I booted Windows XP last night
the clock was one hour ahead
and then it corrected itself
in a few seconds.
Very strange.
I can't explain it.
The clock is fine this morning.

"Even the archangel Michael,
when his case with the devil
was being judged..."
Jude 1:9

There are archangels.
They have power.
Ask the Lord to protect you with his angels.
Lord, send Michael to fight evil in the world.

(March 28, 2007 Wed 6:23 AM CDT)

I'm running Vista this morning
and the clock is off by 1 hour.
I needed to test something for work.
I don't use Vista very often.
It missed the 1 hour DST change apparently.
I've heard of other people having problems with Vista,
but not with Daylight Savings Time.
Or maybe Windows XP did (or did not do) something
with the clock on my PC.

"As regards specific times and moments,
brothers and sisters,
we do not need to write you;
you know very well
that the day of the Lord is coming
like a thief in the night."
1 Thessalonians 5:1-2

What time is it?
It does not make any difference.
Always be ready to welcome the Lord.
Look forward to see the return of Jesus.
He will come when you don't expect him.
Come, Lord Jesus.

(March 27, 2007 Tue 6:20 AM CDT)

Cornelius said to Peter,
"All of us stand before God
at this moment to hear
whatever directives the Lord has given you."
Acts 10:33

Be ready to listen.
The Lord has much to tell you.
Stop what you are doing.
Stand before God.
Receive the directives from Jesus.

(March 26, 2007 Mon 6:25 AM CDT)

I got a roll of the new $1 coins
on Friday from a bank downtown.
I was looking for missing words ,
but they were all there.

"Our preaching of the gospel
proved not a mere matter of words for you
but one of power."
1 Thessalonians 1:5

Words are important.
Words are powerful.
You hear the word of God
and it changes things.
It is good news to your ears.

(March 25, 2007 Sun 8:56 AM CDT)

Yesterday I downloaded Eclipse on my home PC.
I use it at work for Java program development.

Lawns are turning green in Omaha.
We got a lot of rain yesterday.

Jesus said to them,
"Come by yourselves
to an out-of-the-way place
and rest a little."
Mark 6:31

Rest.
Take some time to rest.
Take a break.
Slow down.
Find a quiet place and
listen to the Lord.
You will find rest in Jesus.

(March 24, 2007 Sat 10:17 AM CDT)

I keep a text file of all the
Sudoku puzzles that I work on.
I have been doing Sudoku
since around May 27, 2006 everyday.

Jesus said,
"What I tell you is:
do not swear at all.
...
Say 'Yes' when you mean 'Yes' and
'No' when you mean 'No.'
Anything beyond that is from the evil one."
Matthew 5:34,37

Watch what you say.
Be careful with your words.
Say what you mean.
Tell the truth.
You don't have to say anything.

(March 23, 2007 Fri 6:28 AM CDT)

"You can depend on this to be true."
Titus 3:8

It is something to base your life on.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
Listen to him.
You can depend on him.

(March 22, 2007 Thu 6:24 AM CDT)

"I beg you, brothers and sisters,
for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ
and the love of the Spirit,
join me in the struggle
by your prayers to God on my behalf."
Romans 15:30

Pray for one another.
Prayer is important.
Prayer is powerful.
Call on the name of Jesus.
Join in the struggle.

(March 21, 2007 Wed 6:25 AM CDT)

"Forty years later an angel appeared to Moses
in the desert near Mount Sinai
in the flame of a burning bush.
When Moses saw it, he marveled at the sight.
As he drew near to observe it carefully,
the voice of the Lord was heard:
'I am the God of your fathers,
the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob.'
Moses began to tremble and dared look no more.
The Lord said to him:
'Remove the sandals from your feet,
for the place where you stand is holy ground.
I have witnessed the affliction of my people in Egypt
and have heard their groaning,
and I have come down to rescue them.
Come now, I will send you into Egypt.'"
Acts 7:30-34

This is holy ground.
The Lord has blessed it.
Stop what you are doing.
Listen to the Lord.

(March 20, 2007 Tue 6:16 AM CDT)

"John gave this testimony also:
'I saw the Spirit descend
like a dove from the sky
and it came to rest on Jesus.'"
John 1:32

John was a witness.
He saw the Spirit of God descend upon Jesus.
It is true.
Jesus is the Son of God sent to us.
Believe in him.

(March 19, 2007 Mon 6:27 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"The seed sown on good soil
are the ones who listen to the word,
take it to heart,
and yield 30- and 60- and 100-fold."
Mark 4:20

Is there a change in your life?
Is there a difference?
You listen and read the words in the Bible.
What is the yield?
What is the return?

(March 18, 2007 Sun 8:32 AM CDT)

Jesus asked,
"What was the origin of John's baptism?
Was it divine or merely human?"
Matthew 21:25

Sometimes Jesus asks you questions.
Do you respond?
Do you know the answer?
If you don't know the answer,
study the Bible.
The answers are there.

(March 17, 2007 Sat 10:29 AM CDT)

"Sing to the Lord a new song of praise
in the assembly of the faithful."
Psalms 149:1

Music is there.
It can be used to praise the Lord.
Sing songs about the Lord.
Lift up your voice in song.
Sing at church with your brothers and sisters.

(March 16, 2007 Fri 6:23 AM CDT)

"Cast all your cares on him
because he cares for you."
1 Peter 5:7

Turn to the Lord.
Trust in him.
Take your problems to him.
Jesus cares for you.

(March 15, 2007 Thu 6:21 AM CDT)

"Three times I begged the Lord
that this might leave me.
He said to me,
'My grace is enough for you,
for in weakness power reaches perfection.'"
2 Corinthians 12:8-9

The Lord will give you what you need.
He has blessed you with his grace.
Use this grace.
It is power that is given to you.

(March 14, 2007 Wed 6:22 AM CDT)

From what I see
we set a record high of 80 F degrees yesterday in Omaha.
It felt warm after work walking to my car.

Jesus said,
"I am the gate.
Whoever enters through me will be safe.
They will go in and out, and find pasture."
John 10:9

Jesus is the key.
He provides the entry.
Go to him.
Get to know all about him.
Be safe.

(March 13, 2007 Tue 6:15 AM CDT)

We hit 70 F degrees yesterday in Omaha.
Very nice.

"Jesus said to them:
'You justify yourselves in the eyes of men,
but God reads your hearts.
What man thinks important,
God holds in contempt.'"
Luke 16:15

What is truly important?
What is in your heart?
Be open to the Lord.
Let Jesus make a new heart for you this spring.

(March 12, 2007 Mon 6:18 AM CDT)

"Jesus hastened to reassure them:
'Get hold of yourselves!
It is I.
Do not be afraid!'
He got into the boat with them
and the wind died down."
Mark 6:50-51

Do not worry.
Don't be afraid.
Jesus is right there.
It is him.
He is right there with you.

(March 11, 2007 Sun 8:59 AM CDT)

My PC here at home changed to DST by itself.
I tested the 3 web pages at work
and they are doing fine.
All is well.
So far so good.

"We pray for you always
that our God may make
you worthy of his call,
and fulfill by his power
every honest intention and work of faith.
In this way
the name of the Lord Jesus
may be glorified in you
and you in him,
in accord with the gracious gift
of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ."
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

I'm praying for you.
I'm praying that you learn more and more about Jesus.
He is the power to help you achieve great things.
He is joy for your soul.
He has given you the gift of faith.
It is worth more that all the lotteries in the world.
Thank the Lord for this gracious gift.

(March 10, 2007 Sat 8:52 AM CST)

I bought a new monitor for my PC last night.
I'm still learning how to adjust it.
The letters as I type this are not very sharp.
I turned down the brightness and adjusted the contrast.
That helps a little.
The middle of the screen looks farther away.
It is like a curved Cinerama movie screen.
We had one of these screens in Omaha at 86th and Dodge,
but they knocked it down in 2000.

"At Lystra there was a man who was lame from birth;
he used to sit crippled,
never having walked in his life.
On one occasion he was listening to Paul preaching,
and Paul looked directly at him and
saw that he had the faith to be saved.
He called out to him in a loud voice,
'Stand up! On your feet!'
The man jumped up and began to walk around."
Acts 14:8-10

You need that.
You need to respond when God calls you.
Don't just sit there.
Stand up.
Be healed.
Walk around.

(March 9, 2007 Fri 6:38 AM CST)

Jesus said to them,
"When you pray, say:
'Father,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
for we too forgive all who do us wrong;
and subject us not to the trial.'"
Luke 11:2-4

Jesus told us to pray.
Talk to him daily.
Ask him for your needs.
Forgive others.
Welcome the kingdom of God.
It is here in our midst.

(March 8, 2007 Thu 6:19 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"Be constantly on your guard."
Mark 13:9

Look out.
Guard your faith.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you.
Protect your soul.
Be holy.
D - fence.

(March 7, 2007 Wed 6:23 AM CST)

"Your name, O Lord, endures forever;
Lord is your title through all generations..."
Psalms 135:13

Praise the name of the Lord.
Lift up the name of Jesus.
He endures for all time.
Give honor and glory to him.

(March 6, 2007 Tue 6:18 AM CST)

"I saw no temple in the city.
The Lord, God Almighty, is its temple ---
he and the Lamb.
The city had no need of sun or moon,
for the glory of God gave it light,
and its lamp was the Lamb."
Revelation 21:22-23

The Lamb of God is Jesus.
He gives light to the world.
He brightens up life.
He is the temple.
Worship him.
Honor him.

(March 5, 2007 Mon 6:19 AM CST)

Here is something I found the other day.
It is traffic reports for Omaha and other cities .

"This explains why we work
and struggle as we do;
our hopes are fixed on the living God
who is the Savior of all people,
but especially of those who believe."
1 Timothy 4:10

It is a struggle.
It is work.
It takes effort.
Follow Jesus.
He is our Savior.
Our hope is in him.

(March 4, 2007 Sun 8:18 AM CST)

Here is a picture I took of the lunar eclipse last evening.

"I consider the sufferings of the present
to be as nothing compared with the glory
to be revealed in us.
Indeed, the whole created world eagerly awaits
the revelation of the children of God."
Romans 8:18-19

Yes, the Christian life is tough.
It is not easy.
There will be suffering.
But one day all the world will see the revelation.
Jesus is the answer.

(March 3, 2007 Sat 9:40 AM CST)

I rode the bus to downtown yesterday
from near 72nd and Dodge in Omaha.
They only problem was finding the sidewalks.
They are buried with lots of snow piled high.
Where do you stand to catch the bus?
My socks got wet from stepping in the deep snow.

"By faith Moses' parents
hid him for 3 months after his birth,
thereby disregarding the king's edict,
because they saw that he was a beautiful child."
Hebrews 11:23

What is right and what is wrong?
Sometimes the edicts of kings are wrong.
You must obey God in those instances.
Seek the Lord for answers to tough questions.
The will of God was for Moses to live.

(March 2, 2007 Fri 6:26 AM CST)

We got about 10 inches of snow yesterday,
so I spent much of the day shoveling it.

"Yet God has revealed this wisdom
to us through the Spirit.
The Spirit scrutinizes all matters,
even the deep things of God.
Who, for example, knows a man's innermost self
but the man's own spirit within him?
Similarly, no one knows what lies
at the depths of God but the Spirit of God."
1 Corinthians 2:10-11

Seek the wisdom of God.
Ask the Holy Spirit for this wisdom.
This will help you to learn more about yourself.
It will teach you about the depths of God.

(March 1, 2007 Thu 6:25 AM CST)

We are getting serious snow this morning in Omaha.
People are driving 10 MPH they said on the radio.

"Then, taking the bread and giving thanks,
Jesus broke it and gave it to them, saying:
'This is my body to be given for you.
Do this as a remembrance of me.'"
Luke 22:19

Jesus gave his life for us.
Do not forget that.
Remember his sacrifice.
He is most generous.
He cares for you.
