God is great
Praise the Lord

Seek the Lord for answers

Ask and you shall receive

Know Jesus and know love

Pray for a miracle

(April 30, 2007 Mon 6:16 AM CDT)

"Jesus began to instruct them at great length,
by the use of parables,
and in the course of his teaching said:
'Listen carefully to this.
A farmer went out sowing.
Some of what he sowed landed on the footpath,
where the birds came along and ate it.
Some of the seed landed on rocky ground
where it had little soil;
it sprouted immediately
because the soil had no depth.
Then when the sun rose and scorched it,
it began to wither for lack of roots.
Again, some landed among thorns,
which grew up and choked it off,
and there was no yield of grain.
Some seed, finally,
landed on good soil and yielded grain
that sprang up to produce
at a rate of 30- and 60- and 100-fold.'"
Mark 4:2-8

Where are you?
Are you on the footpath or
rocky ground or
in the thorns or
good soil?
Grow in the Lord.
Produce a return of 100-fold.

"I will give thanks to you,
O Lord, with all my heart;
I will declare all your wondrous deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, Most High,
because my enemies are turned back,
overthrown and destroyed before you."
Psalms 9:1-4

The victory is with the Lord.
Go to him.
Be on his side.
You will win.
There is no question about it.
He is all-powerful.
He is the most high.
Victory is yours in Jesus.

(April 28, 2007 Sat 9:34 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"To you who hear me, I say:
love your enemies,
do good to those who hate you;
bless those who curse you
and pray for those who maltreat you."
Luke 6:27-28

It is not easy.
Be kind to your enemies.
You need the love of God.
Love is more powerful than hate.
Jesus, help us to love those
who want to hurt us in some way.

(April 27, 2007 Fri 6:18 AM CDT)

"Our desire is that each of you
shows the same zeal to the end,
fully assured of that
for which you hope."
Hebrews 6:11

Hang in there.
Hold on to your faith.
Preserve your hope in the Lord.
Have a zeal for life.

(April 26, 2007 Thu 6:18 AM CDT)

"Jesus began to address them
once more in parables:
'A man planted a vineyard,
put a hedge around it,
dug out a vat,
and erected a tower.
Then he leased it to tenant farmers
and went on a journey.'"
Mark 12:1

Jesus told stories.
They were created to make a point.
He has given us many gifts and talents.
He trusts us to use these gifts for good.
Plant some seeds today.
Work in the vineyard of God.

(April 25, 2007 Wed 6:21 AM CDT)

The town clerk said to the mob in Ephesus,
"We have no valid excuse for this wild demonstration."
These words of his broke up the meeting.
Acts 19:40-41

It was a near riot.
The people in Ephesus were upset.
Paul wanted to speak to this mob,
but many people advised him not to.
In the end God used the town clerk
to calm the explosive situation.
Be that peacemaker today with the help of God.

(April 24, 2007 Tue 6:15 AM CDT)

"The message of the cross
is complete absurdity
to those who are headed for ruin,
but to us who are experiencing salvation
it is the power of God."
1 Corinthians 1:18

Look to the cross.
What do you see?
You see the love that God has for you.
See the power of God.

(April 23, 2007 Mon 6:27 AM CDT)

"I find myself thinking
of your sincere faith ---
faith which first belonged
to your grandmother Lois
and to your mother Eunice,
and which I am confident
you also have."
2 Timothy 1:4-5

Pass on the faith.
Pass it to your children and grandchildren.
Make it sincere.
Have confidence in them.
God bless all your family today.

(April 22, 2007 Sun 8:50 AM CDT)

We have a thunderstorm going through Omaha this morning.
I can hear it.

"Nothing delights me more
than to hear that my children
are walking in this path."
3 John 1:4

What direction are you going?
Are you going toward the Lord or away from him?
Take a good look.
Walk in the direction of Jesus.
Go his way.

(April 21, 2007 Sat 9:05 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Look for a worthy person
in every town or village you come to
and stay with him until you leave.
As you enter his home bless it."
Matthew 10:11-12

Go and visit people.
Pray for God's blessings on their house.
Share the love of God with them.
Go in the name of the Lord.

(April 20, 2007 Fri 6:31 AM CDT)

In reply Jesus told them:
"Put your trust in God.
I solemnly assure you,
whoever says to this mountain,
'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,'
and has no inner doubts but believes
that what he says will happen,
shall have it done for him."
Mark 11:22-23

Have no doubts.
Jesus has assured you.
Ask with expectant faith.
Trust in him.

(April 19, 2007 Thu 6:19 AM CDT)

"When they heard this,
they were baptized
in the name of the Lord Jesus.
As Paul laid his hands on them,
the Holy Spirit came down on them
and they began to speak in tongues
and to utter prophecies."
Acts 19:5-6

Lay your hands on people.
Pray for the Holy Spirit
to come down on them.
Give praise to God in his words.
Be open to the Spirit.
Speak inspired words.

(April 18, 2007 Wed 6:19 AM CDT)

"But God, who gives heart
to those who are low in spirit,
gave me strength
with the arrival of Titus."
2 Corinthians 7:6

Are you down?
Are you low in spirit?
Go to the Lord.
He will give you strength.
He will lift you up.
He will give you heart.

(April 17, 2007 Tue 6:17 AM CDT)

Would you do something nice
for someone today?
Overcome evil with good.

"Praise be the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
he who in his great mercy
gave us new birth;
a birth unto hope
which draws its life
from the resurrection
of Jesus Christ from the dead..."
1 Peter 1:3

Death and life.
Jesus died and came back to life.
We have a new birth in him.
Look to him.

(April 16, 2007 Mon 6:22 AM CDT)

I bought the book I was studying.
It is titled
Electronics Fundamentals by Thomas Floyd.
I have the 5th edition.
It cost $8.07 with shipping.
I am in Chapter 13 - RLC Circuits and Resonance.
It takes a long time to go through
all the text and answer the questions.
I use a Texas Instruments TI-34 calculator
to get the answers.
Well, I try to get the answers.
I have had that calculator for many years.

"Their unbelieving minds have been blinded
by the god of the present age
so that they do not see
the splendor of the gospel
showing forth the glory of Christ."
2 Corinthians 4:4

Don't miss it.
The splendor is there.
Read the Gospels -
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
It is there.
Christ is the answer.
See his glory.

(April 15, 2007 Sun 8:34 AM CDT)

Yesterday I was reading about the
Clean Slate Design at Stanford.
They want to redesign the Internet
and do it right this time.
One major problem is security.

"God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him
may not die
but may have eternal life."
John 3:16

You can start with a clean slate.
Jesus died for you.
Ask him to forgive your sins
and start again.
Jesus, forgive me.
Help me to be what you want me to be.
My security is with you.

(April 14, 2007 Sat 11:26 AM CDT)

Jesus came forward and addressed them in these words:
"Full authority has been given to me
both in heaven and on earth;
go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations.
Baptize them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Teach them to carry out everything
I have commanded you.
And know that I am with you always,
until the end of the world!"
Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus has made a promise.
He will be with us.
He is right here.
He will help you.
Call on him.

(April 13, 2007 Fri 6:28 AM CDT)

"Finally, as they were at table,
Jesus was revealed to the Eleven.
He took them to task for their disbelief
and their stubbornness,
since they had put no faith
in those who had seen him
after he had been raised."
Mark 16:14

They did not believe.
It is an amazing thing.
How can someone come back to life that was dead?
It is true.
It happened.
Jesus rose from the dead.
He was dead.
He came back to life.
It takes faith to believe.
I pray that your faith will increase today.

(April 12, 2007 Thu 6:16 AM CDT)

"While they were still speaking all this,
Jesus himself stood in their midst
and said to them,
'Peace to you.'
In their panic and fright
they thought they were seeing a ghost.
He said to them,
'Why are you disturbed?
Why do such ideas cross your mind?
Look at my hands and my feet;
it is really I.
Touch me and see
that a ghost does not have
flesh and bones as I do.'"
Luke 24:36-39

It was hard to believe.
They did not get it.
They saw Jesus after he rose from the dead.
It was him.
Seeing is believing.
Don't be disturbed.

(April 11, 2007 Wed 6:24 AM CDT)

"When they had eaten their meal,
Jesus said to Simon Peter,
'Simon, son of John,
do you love me more than these?'
'Yes, Lord,' he said,
'you know that I love you.'
At which Jesus said,
'Feed my lambs.'"
John 21:15

Peter was a leader.
Jesus wanted to make him a strong leader.
Peter needed that close relationship with Jesus.
Do you love Jesus?
Many people are hungry.

(April 10, 2007 Tue 6:18 AM CDT)

"Then Jesus said to them,
'What little sense you have!
How slow you are to believe
all that the prophets have announced!
Did not the Messiah have to undergo all this
so as to enter into his glory?'"
Luke 24:25-26

Believe in Jesus.
Don't wait.
Do not be slow.
He is the one.
There is no other.

(April 9, 2007 Mon 6:20 AM CDT)

I went to church yesterday at
Holy Cross Church at 48th and Woolworth in Omaha.
The pastor was in the hospital with heart problems.
Pray for him.
God be with him and his family.
God bless all the people in his church.

"They hurried away from the tomb
half-overjoyed, half-fearful, and ran
to carry the good news to his disciples.
Suddenly, without warning,
Jesus stood before them and said,
'Peace!'
The women came up and embraced his feet
and did him homage.
At this Jesus said to them,
'Do not be afraid!
Go and carry the news to my brothers
that they are to go to Galilee,
where they will see me.'"
Matthew 28:8-10

Don't be afraid.
Do not fear.
It is Jesus.
He brings you peace.
He wants to meet with you.

(April 8, 2007 Sun 8:37 AM CDT)

Happy Easter to you and your family.

The angel spoke, addressing the women:
"Do not be frightened.
I know you are looking
for Jesus the crucified,
but he is not here.
He has been raised,
exactly as he promised.
Come and see the place
where he was laid.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples:
'He has been raised from the dead
and now goes ahead of you to Galilee,
where you will see him.'
That is the message I have for you."
Matthew 28:5-7

Jesus overcame death.
He is greater than death.
He is life.
He is eternal life.
Go quickly to him and see him.

(April 7, 2007 Sat 9:07 AM CDT)

Here is a prophecy about Jesus from Isaiah.

"Yet it was our infirmities that he bore,
our sufferings that he endured,
While we thought of him as stricken,
as one smitten by God and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our offenses,
crushed for our sins,
Upon him was the chastisement
that makes us whole,
by his stripes we were healed.
We had all gone astray like sheep,
each following his own way;
But the Lord laid upon him
the guilt of us all."
Isaiah 53:4-6

Jesus took our place.
He took the weight of our sins.
He accepted our guilt placed upon him.
He did it for love.
Jesus, we thank you.

(April 6, 2007 Fri 8:31 AM CDT)

"When they had crucified Jesus,
they divided his clothes
among them by casting lots;
then they sat down there
and kept watch over him."
Matthew 27:35-36

Jesus died on the cross for us.
Why did he allow it to happen to him?
Why did he go through all that suffering?
It is a wondrous love.
It is an amazing love story.
Thank you, Jesus, for your great love for us.

(April 5, 2007 Thu 6:23 AM CDT)

"Yet in bestowing his benefits,
God has not hidden himself completely,
without a clue.
From the heavens he sends down
rain and rich harvests;
your spirits he fills with
food and delight."
Acts 14:17

God sends blessings to you today.
This is a special week.
Open the Bible and read about him.
Read about his great love for you.
Watch the rain.

(April 4, 2007 Wed 6:14 AM CDT)

I paid the IRS yesterday.
That is the first time in a long time
that I can remember paying them.
I usually get a refund.

Jesus said,
"Yet time will prove where wisdom lies."
Matthew 11:19

True wisdom comes from the Lord.
Do you admit that you need guidance?
Do you seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit?
Time will tell.

(April 3, 2007 Tue 6:17 AM CDT)

"Help carry one another's burdens;
in that way you will fulfill
the law of Christ."
Galatians 6:2

Some people have heavy burdens.
Help them in any way that you can.
Be a friend to them.
Pray for them and their family.
Jesus, be with them today.
Bless them.

(April 2, 2007 Mon 6:12 AM CDT)

Last night at church they sang
one of my favorite hymns:
What Wondrous Love Is This?
Very nice.

"Therefore Jesus is always able
to save those who approach God through him,
since he forever lives
to make intercession for them."
Hebrews 7:25

He is there for you.
He speaks on your behalf.
He is on your side.
Go to him.
Believe in him.
Walk with him.

(April 1, 2007 Sun 8:49 AM CDT)

This is Holy Week.
Walk with Jesus each day this week.

"Many people spread their cloaks on the road,
while others spread reeds
which they had cut in the fields.
Those preceding Jesus as well as
those who followed cried out:
'Hosanna!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Blessed is the reign of our father David to come!
Hosanna in the highest!'
He entered Jerusalem and went into the temple precincts."
Mark 11:8-11

Welcome Jesus.
Sing praises to him.
Let him enter your city.
Hosanna.
