Give glory to God
Praise the Lord

Thank the Lord

Be thankful

Be positive

Honor the Lord

(November 30, 2009 Mon 6:34 AM CST)

Yesterday morning at work I was changing the
channel on the DirecTV receiver in the break room.
It was changing the music they were listening to
all over the building.
I heard people yelling but I could not hear what they said.
I tried to put it back on the Sirius XM Radio station
that they were listening to.
Sorry about that.
Alls I did was... hit the up/down channel button.
No one taught me how to run the thing.
Earlier the supervisor said to change the channel
or turn the thing off.
I heard that over the two-way radio.
I got up at 3:30 AM yesterday.
Hopefully I don't have to do that again.

"Of his fullness we have all had a share ---
love following upon love."
John 1:16

God loves you.
He shares his love with you.
Receive this free gift.
Love the one that made you.

(November 28, 2009 Sat 11:01 AM CST)

This morning I'm reading about OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostic system).
Most cars starting in 1996 have this feature.

I watched the sunset like usual last evening.
Very nice with many shades of colors from horizon to horizon.
I met someone that just got back from near Fairbanks, Alaska.
He said some days were -50 F degrees and
the roads are not very good.
It is a very beautiful place
but very dangerous if you get stuck.

"Later on, Jesus found him
in the temple precincts and said to him:
'Remember, now, you have been cured.
Give up you sins so that something worse
may not overtake you.'"
John 5:14

Give up your sins.
Surrender them.
They will cause death.
Jesus, forgive my sins.
I want to change my life.
I want to start over.
Heal me, Lord.

(November 27, 2009 Fri 8:20 AM CST)

I think I had enough turkey yesterday.

"Jesus went on to address a parable to the guests,
noticing how they were trying to get
the places of honor at the table:
'When you are invited by someone
to a wedding party,
do not sit in the place of honor
in case some greater dignitary has been invited.'"
Luke 14:7-8

How important are you?
How great are you?
You are a child of God.
You are great in the eyes of the Lord.
Your honor comes from knowing Jesus.

(November 26, 2009 Thu 7:48 AM CST)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

I finished chapter 10 of the SCJP book yesterday.

"I will give thanks to you, O Lord,
with all my heart;
I will declare all your wondrous deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you,
I will sing praise to your name, Most High..."
Psalms 9:1-3

Jesus, we thank you for all that you have done.
You have given us many gifts.
We have been blessed.
Thank you very much.

(November 25, 2009 Wed 8:55 AM CST)

Last night I met someone
that I went to college with.
They recognized me and I did not recognize them.
We were at a .NET meeting at Farm Credit Services.
It has been a very long time since we have seen each other.
For two of the companies we worked for in the past
we were there at different times.
We just missed each other over the years.
God bless him and his family.

"I am sure of this much:
that he who has begun the good work in you
will carry it through to completion,
right up to the day of Christ Jesus."
Philippians 1:6

We all take different paths and turns.
We meet many different people.
The Lord is with us every step of the way.
When our journey is done we will come home to Jesus.
That is the day.
That will be the day.

(November 24, 2009 Tue 8:45 AM CST)

"It is not ourselves we preach
but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves
as your servants for Jesus' sake."
2 Corinthians 4:5

The message is from Christ.
It is not man-made/person-made.
It is the word of truth.
Read the inspired words of the Bible.
They were written for you.

(November 23, 2009 Mon 9:13 AM CST)

My nephew is sick.
Please pray for him.
God be with him and heal him.

I had to work the last 3 days.
I am tired this morning.
I got up at 3:41 AM yesterday.
We did not have any customers for the first 2 hours.
There was no reason to open so early (6 AM) on Sunday.
The sunrise was pretty cool.
I did like that.
It reminded me of sunrises in Colorado on I-70
up in the mountains.
I'm told I missed the head guy of our company
that came to visit last Monday
and was shaking hands with employees.
I did not work that day.

This is a week to be thankful.
A friend of mine has a new grandson
who was born on Friday.
God bless them and their family.

Jesus said,
"I solemnly assure you,
if a man is true to my word
he shall never see death."
John 8:51

It is a promise.
It is a solemn promise to you.
Trust in Jesus.
Believe in him.
Don't miss out when he comes to visit.
Find eternal life with him.
See a new dawn.

(November 21, 2009 Sat 10:13 AM CST)

I am told that one of my former neighbors
passed away a few days ago.
Pray for him and his family.
God be with them in this difficult time.

Last night I watched the crescent moon go across the sky
until about 8 PM when it went below the horizon.
Very beautiful.
I also talked to someone that just got back
from Wayne, Nebraska .
He went to visit his daughter.
He had a hard time recalling the name of the town.

"Jesus said to his disciples:
'In those days after that tribulation
the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light,
and the stars will be falling from the sky,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.'"
Mark 13:24-25

Some day the moon will be gone.
There will be an end of time.
The earth will be no more.
There is nothing to fear, if you are prepared.
Trust in Jesus.
He has created all that you see.
Your future is with him.

(November 20, 2009 Fri 8:23 AM CST)

Yesterday I watched the Keynote address from PDC09 .
(If needed, move the start to 10 minutes into the video.)
They talk a lot about "the cloud."

There was an interesting crossword puzzle on 10-29-2009 .
(Yes, I'm a little behind.)
They have the same word in all four corners.
See the clue at 40 ACROSS.
Very clever.

"Jesus said,
'You will receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes down on you;
then you are to be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
throughout Judea and Samaria,
yes, even to the ends of the earth.'
No sooner had he said this
then he was lifted up before their eyes in a cloud
which took him from their sight."
Acts 1:8-9

Your power comes from the Lord.
Ask Jesus for the power of the Holy Spirit.
You need it.
Open your eyes and see.
Live in the clouds of glory.

(November 19, 2009 Thu 8:17 AM CST)

Yesterday I was studying about Flex .
They mentioned it in the job interview yesterday.
One of the guys in the interview
participated by phone from Germany.
That was different.
When I arrived the door was wide open.
It was about 45 F degrees outside at the time.
They wanted to air out the place for some reason.
It was a little cold waiting for the interview to start
then someone in the office came and closed the door.

Internet Explorer is acting strange sometimes the last few days.
It went into an infinite loop yesterday opening
tab after tab after tab.
It might be a problem with email at that I use.
This morning I could not use the keyboard at all.
The mouse did work.
It might be a problem with the KVM switch again
so I disconnected it.

"Here I stand, knocking at the door.
If anyone hears me calling and opens the door,
I will enter their house and have supper with them,
and they with me."
Revelation 3:20

Open the door.
Welcome the Lord in.
He wants to share his gifts with you.
He will warm your life.

(November 18, 2009 Wed 6:28 AM CST)

Yesterday I was watching tutorials on ActionScript 3.0 .
I have an interview today with a company that uses it.
Nathaniel has done a very good job
of presenting the information.
God bless him and his family.

"Zechariah signaled for a writing tablet
and wrote the words,
'His name is John.'
This astonished them all.
At that moment his mouth was opened
and his tongue was loosed,
and he began to speak in praise of God."
Luke 1:63-64

Open your mouth.
Speak praises to God.
He has done amazing things.
He calls you by your name.

(November 17, 2009 Tue 8:34 AM CST)

I went to Gretna again yesterday
to drop something off for a part-time job.

"We should not absent ourselves from the assembly,
as some do, but encourage one another;
and this all the more
because you see that the Day draws near."
Hebrews 10:25

Attend church.
Worship God with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
You need the encouragement of others.
Time is short.
Draw near to the Lord.

(November 16, 2009 Mon 6:24 AM CST)

We changed the location of our
networking meeting for today at 1 PM.
I wonder if some people will go to the old location.

Yesterday I had to get a confidentiality agreement notarized
for a job application so I went to Kinkos/FedEx.
It cost $5.00.
That is for a part-time job in Gretna
on a web site that needs to be changed.
I wonder how many part-time jobs I can handle.

"There is no condemnation now
for those who are in Christ Jesus."
Romans 8:1

You have a friend in Jesus.
Believe in his words.
He promised to save your life.
Trust in him.

(November 15, 2009 Sun 9:35 AM CST)

Yesterday at work a lot of people
were wearing red for the Nebraska football game.
That was the first Saturday I have worked in many months.
I did not know about wearing red.
Someone even had a red hat
with the company name on it by coincidence.
I got updates from people as the game was progressing.
We even won.
I brought in some brownies for the break room.
They were popular items.
I'm starting to get used to the cold.
It is too hot to be inside with all the clothes I wear.
I tell people that they pay me to watch the sunsets.
What a job.

"Simon Peter went aboard and hauled ashore
the net loaded with sizable fish --- 153 of them!
In spite of the great number, the net was not torn."
John 21:11

There is room for everyone.
All are invited to dinner with the Lord.
Come and enjoy your many friends in Christ.
Come sit at the table.
See many beautiful sunsets that never end.

(November 14, 2009 Sat 10:45 AM CST)

Yesterday I tested out some hand warmers .
That helped a lot to keep my hands warm last night.
A wonderful invention.
I'm not sure what to do with the leftover hand warmers.
Some people told me that there are electric hand warmers.
It's all new to me.

A person I know from church downtown
had a brother that was killed in a traffic accident
in Toronto a few weeks ago.
Pray for him and his family.

(November 13, 2009 Fri 8:20 AM CST)

Yesterday at work a man was wandering around
where you usually don't see anyone.
He looked lost.
He was looking for his wife.
I asked him to call his wife on her cell phone a few times
and he did not respond to that.
When I talked to his wife later
it turns out that he has Alzheimer's disease.
Pray for him and his wife and family.
It is tough.

Yesterday I was studying ActionScript 3.0 .
I had a phone interview yesterday with a company that uses it.
I need to learn about it.

Jesus told a parable,
"What woman, if she has ten silver pieces and loses one,
does not light a lamp and sweep the house in a diligent search
until she has retrieved what she lost?
And when she finds it, she calls in her friends and neighbors to say,
'Rejoice with me! I have found the silver piece I lost.'
I tell you, there will be the same kind of joy
before the angels of God over one repentant sinner."
Luke 15:8-10

Are you wandering around?
Are you lost?
Turn on the light of Christ.
Find joy in him.
Ask him to forgive your sins.
Be found.

(November 12, 2009 Thu 8:45 AM CST)

"My little children,
be on your guard against idols."
1 John 5:21

Watch out.
Keep the Lord first in your life.
Do not let the things of the world distract you.
Jesus, help us to focus on you.

(November 11, 2009 Wed 6:50 AM CST)

I saw a picture last night of a baby girl
that was born on Monday.
God bless the baby, mother and family.

I did make it to the job fair yesterday in Council Bluffs.
I met some people that I had sent resumes to
over the Internet months ago.
It is great to meet people in person.
They had an advertisement in the newspaper that said
the job fair was May 14 instead of November 10.
Where was quality control?
At the Siena/Francis House we always do quality control
as we send out letters in the mail.
I proofread what I write for Spring To Life
over and over 3 or 4 times to correct words.
I always do spell checking.

The electricity was out for about 4 hours yesterday.
They are still replacing telephone poles in the neighborhood
on the next street west of me.

"My God in turn will supply your needs fully,
in a way worthy of his magnificent riches in Christ Jesus.
All glory to our God and Father for unending ages!
Philippians 4:19-20

The Lord will bless you.
Turn to him for help.
Trust in him.
Give glory to him.

(November 10, 2009 Tue 8:49 AM CST)

There is a job fair in Council Bluffs, Iowa
today from 9 AM to 3 PM.

"So may God, the source of hope,
fill you with all joy and peace in believing
so that through the power of the Holy Spirit
you may have hope in abundance."
Romans 15:13

Is there any hope?
Do you see brighter days ahead?
Seek the power of the Holy Spirit.
It will open a whole new world of possibilities.
Believe it.

(November 9, 2009 Mon 6:14 AM CST)

Jesus prayed,
"To them I have revealed your name,
and I will continue to reveal it
so that your love for me may live in them,
and I may live in them."
John 17:26

Pray to the Father.
Speak about the name of Jesus.
Tell others about his wonderful love.
Share your life with him.

(November 8, 2009 Sun 8:39 AM CST)

This morning I was reading Cake Wrecks .
Sometimes they write funny things on cakes
that people have ordered or make interesting designs.
I wonder if I will ever be a baker one day.

"Then the angel spoke, addressing the women:
'Do not be frightened.
I know you are looking for Jesus the crucified,
but he is not here.
He has been raised, exactly as he promised.
Come and see the place where he was laid.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples:
He has been raised from the dead and
now goes ahead of you to Galilee,
where you will see him.
That is the message I have for you.'"
Matthew 28:5-7

The Lord prepares the way.
He goes ahead of you.
He has made a promise.
Trust him.
Go to meet him.

(November 7, 2009 Sat 10:15 AM CST)

I went to a job interview this morning in Gretna, Nebraska.
It is 18 miles from my house.
They said I could work from home.
It is a part-time programmer job.
God bless all the people that work there.

I just took these pictures
of the new telephone pole in my backyard.

They installed it yesterday.
They cut the old pole at the bottom and moved it a few inches
to one side and anchored it with cables.
Then they installed the new pole in the original spot.
They moved the wires starting at the top to the new pole
and sawed the old pole in pieces
as they worked their way down the pole.
It took about 2 hours.

A former neighbor across the street had a stroke this week.
Pray for him.
Jesus, be with him and heal him.

"Like a sure and firm anchor,
that hope extends beyond the veil
through which Jesus, our forerunner,
has entered on our behalf,
being made high priest forever
according to the order of Melchizedek."
Hebrews 6:19-20

Jesus is the anchor.
Be secure with him.
Stand tall and straight in the blue sky.
He runs for us and we will win.

(November 6, 2009 Fri 8:16 AM CST)

Yesterday was a very nice day.
Today is also going to be
a nice day around 70 F degrees.
I was talking to someone last night
who used to live in southern India.
She said it was too cold in Omaha.
It was about 50 F degrees at that time.
She likes 18 or 19 C (64 or 66 F) degrees.
I also talked to someone from Hawaii.
He said the price of things were higher there.
God bless them and their families.

The leaves are all done for the year.
I can forget about that.
I did a little raking this morning
and I am sneezing a lot.
I am allergic to leaf dust.

OPPD is coming to my backyard finally today.
They are going to replace the telephone pole.
I will lose electricity for a few hours.

"My brothers and sisters,
count it pure joy
when you are involved
in every sort of trial.
Realize that when your faith is tested
this makes for endurance.
Let endurance come to its perfection
so that you may be fully mature
and lacking in nothing."
James 1:2-4

There will be hard times.
You will suffer.
Where will you turn for help?
It takes faith.
It takes faith in Jesus.
Learn all about him.

(November 5, 2009 Thu 8:35 AM CST)

I met someone yesterday that has a child
that attends Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, PA.
They said it is the #2 technical school behind MIT .
God bless them and their family.

I finished chapter 9 of the SCJP book yesterday.

"Remain at peace with one another.
We exhort you to admonish the unruly;
cheer the fainthearted; support the weak;
be patient toward all.
See that no one returns evil to any other;
always seek one another's good
and for that matter, the good of all."
1 Thessalonians 5:13-15

Talk to others.
See what is happening.
Help those that you can.
Pray for all of them.
God bless all those that you meet today.

(November 4, 2009 Wed 6:44 AM CST)

I took a Java test at yesterday.
It is for a Java Developer job in Omaha.

The Italian Cream Cakes are back
at the store that sells them in Omaha.
It is a seasonal item.
I bought one yesterday.

I'm still waking up an hour early
and then go back to sleep.
My body is still on Daylight Savings Time.

The leaves are just about all down now
from my 3 silver maple trees.
I need to go attack them later today with the lawn mower.

"All people are now undeservedly justified
by the gift of God,
through the redemption wrought in Christ Jesus.
Through his blood, God made him the means
of expiation for all who believe."
Romans 3:24-25

We don't deserve it.
It is a free gift.
Jesus gave his life for us.
He loves you and me very much.
Jesus, thank you for dying for me.
Forgive my sins.
I have made mistakes.
I accept this wonderful gift of new life.
Come into my life.

(November 3, 2009 Tue 8:29 AM CST)

In our networking group yesterday
another person landed a job in Omaha.
The group keeps getting smaller.
God bless him and his family.

I watched the full moon go across the sky last evening
on my part-time job.
You can tell what time it is by the location of the moon.

"God then gave witness to it by signs, miracles,
varied acts of power, and distribution of gifts
of the Holy Spirit as he willed."
Hebrews 2:4

Open your eyes.
See the wonders of God.
See his acts of power.
Receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
It is a sign of the times.

(November 2, 2009 Mon 6:42 AM CST)

"Mary treasured all these things and
reflected on them in her heart."
Luke 2:19

Read the Bible.
Think about what the Lord has done.
It is amazing.
He is the Lord.
Learn all about him.

(November 1, 2009 Sun 8:34 AM CST)

Yesterday I lost the gas cap on my lawn mower
as I was running over all the leaves in my front yard.
I must not have put it on tight enough.
I kept praying to find it.
I did not want to go somewhere and buy another one.
It took me about 30 minutes to find it
with the leaf blower.

"See what love the Father has bestowed on us
in letting us be called children of God!
Yet that is what we are."
1 John 3:1

You don't have to be lost.
You are a child of God.
He is looking for you.
Feel safe in his love.
That is what you are meant to be.
