God is love
Put your trust in Jesus

The time is now

Be born again

God is great

Love is all you need

(August 31, 2010 Tue 6:19 AM CDT)

There are many really cool things
happening in my life now.
Way too many things to write about.

Yesterday at work I was in the breakroom.
We get two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch.
Someone punched in the wrong code
on a vending machine and
that code had an empty slot.
They got nothing for their money.
They were walking away and
I asked them if they wanted some money.
They said Yes or Sure.
I gave them a dollar.
They punched in the right code
and got the item and gave me the 55 cents in change.
I do not know their name.
There are about 200 people where I work
in that building.

The Lord is trying to teach me about humility lately.
For one thing I only make $10 per hour.
Nothing to brag about.
The last two Sundays I went to two churches
that I rarely if ever go to.
Both had sermons on humility.

I talked to someone named Timothy on the phone yesterday.
It is a rare name on calls.

"Tell those who are rich in this world's goods
not to be proud, and not to rely
on so uncertain a thing as wealth.
Let them trust in the God who provides us richly
with all things for our use.
Charge them to do good, to be rich in good works
and generous, sharing what they have.
Thus will they build a secure foundation for the future,
for receiving that life which is life indeed."
1 Timothy 6:17-19

I have much to learn.
You have much to learn.
Lord, teach us what is important in this life.
Help us to see the value of things.
Show us how to use the things we have
to build the kingdom of God.

(August 29, 2010 Sun 7:39 AM CDT)

Yesterday I was talking to someone on the
island of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.
He said it takes about 2.5 hours
to get there from Miami.
I asked him about Haiti.
It will take a long time to recover
from the earthquake of January 12, 2010.
I pray for them every morning still.

"I plead with you, then,
as a prisoner for the Lord,
to live a life worthy
of the calling you have received,
with perfect humility, meekness, and
patience, bearing with one another lovingly."
Ephesians 4:1-2

Serve the Lord with gladness.
Live with humility.
Be patient.
Pray to be a loving person of faith.

(August 27, 2010 Fri 7:17 AM CDT)

"I beg you, brothers, for the sake
of our Lord Jesus Christ and
the love of the Spirit,
join me in the struggle
by your prayers to God on my behalf."
Romans 15:30

It is a struggle.
It is not easy to be Christian.
Pray for all believers.
Pray for all your brothers and sisters in Christ.

(August 26, 2010 Thu 7:35 AM CDT)

"Whoever believes in the Son
has life eternal.
Whoever disobeys the Son
will not see life,
but must endure the wrath of God."
John 3:36

It sounds harsh.
God asks all of us to follow in his ways.
If you walk the opposite direction,
you walk away from him and eternal life.
Walk toward the light.

(August 25, 2010 Wed 7:50 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men ---
the Son of Man will acknowledge him
before the angels of God.
But the man who has disowned me
in the presence of men
will be disowned in the presence
of the angels of God."
Luke 12:8-9

Speak up.
Tell what you know about the Lord.
You have to say something.

(August 24, 2010 Tue 6:17 AM CDT)

Pray for someone that I work with.
They have a dear friend that died.
God be with them and comfort them today.

"But you, beloved, grow strong in your holy faith
through prayer in the Holy Spirit."
Jude 1:20

Daily prayer is so important.
You need that contact with the infinite.
You need to be refreshed.
Be strong.

(August 23, 2010 Mon 6:19 AM CDT)

Yesterday I went to a church in LaVista, Nebraska.
I posted pictures of it on Facebook.

This is one of the Bible readings from the service.
"He was known to be of human estate,
and it was thus that he humbled himself,
obediently accepting even death,
death on a cross!"
Philippians 2:7-8

Jesus became one of us.
He became a man.
He suffered and died for us.
He did not have to do this.
He lowered himself to raise us up.
We don't understand such awesome love.

(August 20, 2010 Fri 7:32 AM CDT)

"Some, indeed, were convinced by what he said;
others would not believe."
Acts 28:24

Some will believe in Jesus and some will not.
Let us pray for all to see the truth.
Jesus is the Lord.
Pray for all pastors to proclaim the truth.

(August 18, 2010 Wed 7:31 AM CDT)

Please pray for my aunt in Ohio that is sick.
God bless and heal her.

"Paul, for his part, chose Silas
to accompany him on his journey,
and in this he was commended by the brothers
to the favor of the Lord.
He traveled throughout Syria and Cilicia,
giving the churches there renewed assurance."
Acts 15:40-41

You need teamwork.
You need partners.
Be open to working with your
brothers and sisters in the Lord.
You can and will accomplish great things.

(August 17, 2010 Tue 9:01 AM CDT)

It is a rainy day in Omaha.
Something different for sure.

"May mercy, peace, and love be yours
in ever greater measure."
Jude 1:2

There are many blessings in this life.
There are many more to come.
Live with expectant faith.
The best is yet to come.

(August 15, 2010 Sun 7:23 AM CDT)

I'm watering the grass this morning in the front yard.
It is very dry.

Yesterday I had to work.
Saturday is much quieter than Monday through Friday.
I could actually think and relax a little.
I reviewed my many pages of notes from training.
I had time to talk to the people around me
and see what they were up to.
I'm meeting new people all the time.
God bless all the people I work with and their families.

One of my friends on Facebook requested prayers
for her brother.
Please pray for him and all the family.

"You must never grow weary
of doing what is right, brothers."
2 Thessalonians 3:13

Hang in there.
It is tough.
Be strong.
Call on the Lord for help.

(August 14, 2010 Sat 8:13 AM CDT)

Several people who call me on the phone
at work are named Daniel.
As time has gone on,
I introduce myself as Daniel instead of Dan.

Last night I went to see the hot air balloons
south of 204 and Q Streets in Omaha.
I posted the pictures to my Facebook page .
The batteries in my camera died after 26 pictures.
I got very close to the balloons
to see what it took to launch them.
You go wherever the wind takes you.

"We know that God makes all things work together
for the good of those who love God
and are called according to his decree."
Romans 8:28

Go with the Spirit.
Launch yourself with the Lord.
Be lifted up to the heavens.
Feel the wind in your face.

(August 12, 2010 Thu 6:45 AM CDT)

I'm starting to adjust to my new work schedule.
For example I tried to work on a Sudoku puzzle on
Monday before work as I walked at the Westroads Mall.
After 18 minutes I had to quit because of mistakes.
I entered a wrong number (9 instead of 6)
in the lower right corner.
Yesterday I finished two puzzles before work
without any mistakes.
The job gets easier each day.
The stress is still there but not as much.
I try to have a little fun on the calls
and joke around with people.
There was this person in Phoenix yesterday.
I could hear them eating something,
so I said, "It must be lunchtime in Phoenix."
The only problem is...
it is not what I want to do.
I want to do software development.

Jesus told a story,
"The reign of God is like the case
of the owner of an estate
who went out at dawn
to hire workmen for his vineyard.
After reaching an agreement with them
for the usual daily wage,
he sent them out to his vineyard."
Matthew 20:1-2

There is a lot to be done.
It will not be easy.
There are seeds to be planted.
God bless you in your work today.

(August 11, 2010 Wed 6:11 AM CDT)

A friend of mine last night said that
250 more people lost their jobs
at the company where I work.
It is scary to lose your job in 2010.
God be with them and their families.

I went to the zoo yesterday afternoon.
It has been 5 years since I was last there.
I got to see the butterfly building
for the first time.
I posted pictures on my Facebook page.
Someone posted a laughing response
to my comment yesterday on Facebook
about reading Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
People will laugh in your face
if you stand up for the truth.

Jesus taught,
"They will persecute you
as they persecuted me.
They will respect your words
as much as they respected mine."
John 15:20

Be strong in your faith.
Stand up for what is right.
Be a bright light in a dark world.
God bless you today.
Be a faithful witness.

(August 10, 2010 Tue 8:00 AM CDT)

I get the day off today with my new work schedule.
I think I'm going to the zoo.
I have not been there since 2005.

A friend of mine is trying to read the Bible.
They started with Genesis and said it was boring.
I suggested starting with Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
It is interesting that they are interested.
Pray for all those who are seeking the truth.

"Day and night, without pause, they sing:
'Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,
He who was, and who is, and who is to come!'"
Revelation 4:8

Give praise to God.
Sing to him.
In the morning pray to start the day.
Finish the day with a prayer.
Offer up all that you do to the Lord.

(August 9, 2010 Mon 7:08 AM CDT)

"Man of God that you are,
flee from all this.
Instead, seek after integrity,
piety, faith, love, steadfastness,
and a gentle spirit.
Fight for the good fight of faith."
1 Timothy 6:11-12

Be that person of integrity.
Have steadfastness in your beliefs.
Fight for what is right.
God will bless you in your efforts.

(August 8, 2010 Sun 8:04 AM CDT)

I did not bake the brownies on Thursday night long enough.
I took them to work on Friday and the middle was
like chocolate pudding.
The outside edges were cooked but not the inside area.
Oops...
Sorry about that...

"Since you have been raised up in company with Christ,
set you heart on what pertains to higher realms
where Christ is seated at God's right hand.
Be intent on things above
rather than on things of earth."
Colossians 3:1-2

I tell people to look up.
Look to heaven.
See the bright shining Son of God.
He is the light of the world.

(August 7, 2010 Sat 8:57 AM CDT)

I graduated yesterday.
We had a party after work at the Pipeline
on 72nd Street in Omaha.
We said bye bye to the training room
where we were for 8 weeks.
I'm working on my next step
to get back to software development.
I'm finding out contacts inside the company
in the Information Technologies department.
There was a rumor that 6 people lost
their jobs in our department this week.
I don't know if that is true or not.
I am so new to the company
I don't know how to verify that.
At Qwest Communications I knew
just who to call or send an email
to find out what was happening.
Sometimes you would find out from
people outside of Qwest what was happening.
They still had ties inside the company.

"After that he was seen by 500 brothers at once,
most of whom are still alive,
although some have fallen asleep."
1 Corinthians 15:6

Many people saw Jesus after the resurrection.
He died and rose from the dead.
It was the miracle of miracles.
He is the creator of life
and the author of life.
Go to him.
Make connections to him.
He is the source.

(August 6, 2010 Fri 8:05 AM CDT)

The roof on the house west of me is done.
I posted pictures on Facebook of course.
(I'm not sure if this link works or not.)

Today is graduation day for me.
I have been through 8 weeks of training at work.
I made brownies last night and will take them to work
for the celebration.
It is a step to get to the next stage.

Pray for the mother-in-law of one of my cousins.
They need healing.
God bless them and make them well
and comfort them.

Jesus taught,
"Blest are you who hunger;
you shall be filled."
Luke 6:20-21 or 21

Have a hunger for the Lord.
He is the bread for your journey.
He provides for your strength.
He will fill you with his grace.

(August 5, 2010 Thu 8:03 AM CDT)

They are pounding away this morning putting
on a new roof on the house west of me.
God bless all the workers and their families.

Last night I went to the Happy Hollow Country Club in Omaha.
They had some presentations on plans for a new church
on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
They said it was very crowded in the current church
and they needed more space.
The current church will be torn down
and a new one built in 18 months to replace it.
This will cost around $25M.
The dean of students from UNL was there and
talked for about 10 minutes.
God bless their efforts to help the college students
there in Lincoln.
I posted pictures of this on my Facebook page .
I opened the permissions to everyone,
so if you have a Facebook account
you should be able to see them.

"Faith is confident assurance concerning what we hope for,
and conviction about things we do not see."
Hebrews 11:1

We walk by faith.
We don't see everything.
We are part of the plan and we must do our part.
Lord, guide and teach us what you want us to do.
Show us the way.

(August 4, 2010 Wed 6:26 AM CDT)

I helped serve dinner last night at SFH.
I have not done that in many months.
I met a lot of new people
and some people I already knew.
I took many pictures and posted them on Facebook.
I'm not sure if you can get to my Facebook page or not.
When I was leaving at 7 PM it was cultural shock.
Here you have all these people that have nothing
and I get to get in my car and drive home to my house.
It is a crazy feeling.

"How deep are the riches and the wisdom
and the knowledge of God!
How inscrutable his judgments,
how unsearchable his ways!
For 'who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?
Who has given him anything
so as to deserve return?'
For from him and through him
and for him all things are.
To him be glory forever.
Amen."
Romans 11:33-36

Learn about the Lord.
There is much to study.
He is amazing.
He has all the knowledge.
Go to him for all that you need.

(August 3, 2010 Tue 7:35 AM CDT)

This morning I'm testing my extra Dell computer.
Looks good.
It is slow.
It is very slow.
It only has 512MB of memory.
My neighbor needs a computer.
Her computer is at DIT computer being fixed.
It has viruses on it.

I made 5% on the CELG stock in one day.
I sold it and got out.
It is still going up.
I don't have much patience with the Stock Market lately.

"John gave this testimony also:
'I saw the Spirit descend
like a dove from the sky,
and it came to rest on him.'"
John 1:32

The Holy Spirit was there.
It came down from heaven.
I pray the Spirit will be part of your life.
We need wisdom that comes from above.
God bless you today.

(August 2, 2010 Mon 7:02 AM CDT)

If you notice closely when you are at the Westroads Mall
you will see little black boxes on the walls in various places.
These are a Hypercom T8 .
They are very colorful.
It is for mall gift cards.
You can check your balance with the machines.
Hypercom is going to announce it's earnings on August 4.
HYC

Jesus said,
"And yet the hand of my betrayer
is with me at this table.
The Son of Man is following out his appointed course,
but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed."
Luke 22:21-22

Sometimes people will turn against you.
It happened to Jesus.
It will happen to you.
Pray for your enemies.
Pray that they see the light of Christ.
Don't give up on anyone.
The grace of God is available for all.

(August 1, 2010 Sun 6:35 AM CDT)

I found this in the Westroad Mall parking lot
yesterday around 5:30 PM.

If you look up the flight information
for Continental Express 2916 ,
it goes from OMA (Omaha) to EWR (Newark).
I have been thinking about flying to New Jersey
to see Nicholas in Scotch Plains.
It is an amazing coincidence.
"Bernie Siegel, describes coincidences as
'God's way of remaining anonymous.'"
So... is God telling me to fly to New Jersey?
It takes discernment.

"Beloved,
do not trust every spirit,
but put the spirits to a test
to see if they belong to God,
because many false prophets
have appeared in the world."
1 John 4:1

You need to pray.
Seek the Lord for the truth.
He will lead you to the light.
There will be peace in your soul
when you find where God is leading you.
