Yesterday I had a thought about
Jesus said,
Where is power to be found?
getting dressed up for work in a suit and tie.
I would wear the suit I bought when I turned 50.
It was very expensive.
They will probably bury me in that suit.
I changed my mind and did not do it.
When I got to work around 9:30 AM
there was crowd of people at one door inside.
Someone important was talking.
It turned out to be the
head guy
of the company.
He was in town to give some talks.
I signed up to hear him in a lottery but was not picked.
I went in a different door.
That is what happens
when you are "nobody" in a company like me.
He is at the top and I'm at the bottom.
It would have been cool to shake his hand and say
"Welcome to Omaha."
I will just have to send him an email.
Many of the people I talk to on the phones are at the top.
They own the business.
They have great job security.
They can't lose their job.
Today is my friend Patrick's birthday at work.
I would like to take him
to the UNL football game in Lincoln on Saturday.
I want him to see the 86,000 people all dressed in red.
It is something to see.
But... I have to work... it is very frustrating...
I applied for a day of vacation and it was not approved.
It is very tough being at the bottom.
I still need to learn more about humility apparently.

The world thinks it is at the top.
Jesus says you must be a servant at the bottom.
Things are flipped.

was a story on Haiti.
It talked about Marjorie Saint Hilaire.
She has 3 sons.
She is hurting.
She and her family are in great need.
I wonder what I can do to help her.
I try to remember to pray for Haiti
each morning so they can rebuild their country.

At church yesterday the pastor asked the question:

It is very expensive.
Maybe $169K for a full-page Sunday nationwide advertisement.
would we sell everything and give it to the poor?
It would be very hard to do.
I have a lot of things.

Go and sell what you have and give to the poor;
you will then have treasure in heaven.

You wonder if he returned years later.
It will be interesting to find out what happened to him
when we get to heaven.

Seek the Lord.
Ask him for wisdom.

We need to work on humility.
The glory goes to the Lord.
He is THE one.

This is from my Facebook page this morning:
The "movie" continues... Yesterday afternoon I went to Plattsmouth, Nebraska. It is about 30 minutes south of Omaha. I went to see where a church was that my Facebook friend Marc attends. I did not have my camera with me. I did not go in. I just wanted to see it for myself. Then at about 6:30 PM I was at 39 and Burt in Omaha.
I was right in front of where I went to high school. Several of my Facebook friends also went to school there. It is not a school anymore. Someone was yelling to me. They had a red gas can. They had run out of gas. They said something about Plattsmouth. Interesting I was just there a few hours ago.
They had been begging for money and no one would give them a dime. I usually do not help people on the street that ask me for money but he said Plattsmouth. It was unreal. I pointed to the buildings and I told him I went to grade school there and went to high school there.
My car was parked on Adam Herold Street. You can see a picture of the street

His name was Jerry/Gerry. He works at Pizza Hut near 50 and L. He needed a shower. He got in my car. This is very unusual for me. I never pick up hitchhikers or anything like that.
He joked that he used to own a car like mine. I told him that my car is 14 years old. The cassette tape started to play and I turned it off. I was listening to a copy of Briege McKenna's talk from 12-12-1981 at Creighton University. I gave him the tape. I asked him if he had a cassette tape player. He had one somewhere to listen to it. Maybe he will listen to it. Maybe not. I told him that Briege was given the gift of healing by God. She did not want the gift. You laugh as you hear what she says. She was given a tremendous gift and wanted nothing to do with it.
Anyway I took him to the BP gas station at 40 and Dodge and he filled up his gas can. I'm looking at the receipt here. It says: 2.026 gallons at 6:42 PM. He said it was his 4-year old son's birthday and he had no money to buy him a present. I took him to his car near 41 and Hamilton. I told him I used to ride chartered bus #72 to grade school on this very street. I told him to come back to the BP station and I would fill up the tank on his car. I went back to the BP station and waited for about 15 minutes. He never came. I wonder if he will listen to the tape.
(Note: I went to school with 16% of my Facebook friends. They are well represented.)
(Note: there is a Pizza Hut at 4925 L St, Omaha, NE (402) 731-6131. I told him that I liked Valentinos or Godfathers pizza better.)
This is like prophecy but not quite.

He is the author.
