April, 2011

Now is the time
Think about eternal life

God is wonderful

Seek the Lord with all your heart

God loves you

You are special

(April 30, 2011 Sat 10:53 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who lives in me and I in him,
will produce abundantly,
for apart from me you can do nothing."
John 15:5

Be connected.
Stay connected to the Lord.
You need his grace.
You need his power each day.

(April 29, 2011 Fri 6:53 AM CDT)

God bless all those in England this morning
celebrating the wedding.

Jesus said,
"Teach them to carry out everything
I have commanded you.
And know that I am with you always,
until the end of the world!"
Matthew 28:20

The Lord is with you.
He is there for all time.
Call on him.
He is all that you need.

(April 27, 2011 Wed 6:53 AM CDT)

"Jesus came forward and
addressed them in these words:
'Full authority has been given to me
both in heaven and on earth;
go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.'"
Matthew 28:18-19

Follow Jesus.
Lead others to him.
He will bring us to salvation.

(April 26, 2011 Tue 6:26 AM CDT)

"The eleven disciples made their way to Galilee,
to the mountain to which Jesus had summoned them.
At the sight of him,
those who entertained doubts fell down in homage."
Matthew 28:16-17

Jesus was alive.
He arose from the dead.
It was hard for the disciples to believe it.
Jesus, increase our faith to believe in you.

(April 25, 2011 Mon 6:28 AM CDT)

"They hurried away from the tomb
half-overjoyed, half-fearful,
and ran to carry the good news
to his disciples.
Suddenly, without warning,
Jesus stood before them and said,
The women came up and embraced his feet
and did him homage.
At this Jesus said to them,
'Do not be afraid!
Go and carry the news to my brothers
that they are to go to Galilee,
where they will see me.'"
Matthew 28:8-10

We need peace.
We need good news.
Jesus comes to comfort us.
Embrace him and his message of hope.

(April 24, 2011 Sun 8:51 AM CDT)

Happy Easter to you and all your family!
Here is my favorite Easter Hymn.
Jesus Christ is Risen Today

"After the sabbath,
as the first day of the week was dawning,
Mary Magdalene came with the other Mary
to inspect the tomb.
Suddenly there was a mighty earthquake,
as the angel of the Lord descended from heaven.
He came to the stone, rolled it back,
and sat on it.
In appearance he resembled a flash of lightning
while his garments were as dazzling as snow.
The guards grew paralyzed with fear of him
and fell down like dead men.
Then the angel spoke, addressing the women:
'Do not be frightened.
I know you are looking for Jesus the crucified,
but he is not here.
He has been raised, exactly as he promised.
Come and see the place where he was laid.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples:
He has been raised from the dead
and now goes ahead of you to Galilee,
where you will see him.
That is the message I have for you.'"
Matthew 28:1-7

It is a happy day.
It is a joyous day.
Jesus is risen from the dead.

(April 23, 2011 Sat 10:32 AM CDT)

Death is not the end.

"Eye has not seen, ear has not heard,
nor has it so much as dawned on man
what God has prepared for those who love him."
1 Corinthians 2:9

There is more to come.
Open your eyes to see a new dawn.
Heaven is there for those who believe.
Trust in Jesus to bring you safely home.

(April 22, 2011 Fri 8:24 AM CDT)

It is Good Friday.
They just read this on radio KGBI in Omaha.

"Then Jesus, uttering a loud cry,
breathed his last.
At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary
was torn in two from top to bottom.
The centurion who stood guard over him,
on seeing the manner of his death, declared,
'Clearly this man was the Son of God!'"
Mark 15:37-39

There is power in the death and resurrection of Jesus.
He took the weight of our sins.
He stood in our place.
Jesus, thank you for dying for us.

(April 20, 2011 Wed 6:34 AM CDT)

"In Damascus the ethnarch of King Aretas
was keeping a close watch on the city
in order to arrest me,
but I was lowered in a basket
through a window in the wall
and escaped his hands."
2 Corinthians 11:32-33

The Lord will save you.
He will rescue you.
You are safe with him.
Trust in the Lord.

(April 18, 2011 Mon 6:26 AM CDT)

"In the beginning was the Word;
the Word was in God's presence,
and the Word was God."
John 1:1

God has always been.
He is eternal.
We are his creation.
He spoke and the world was created.
Start a new beginning today.
Jesus, renew my life.

(April 17, 2011 Sun 8:35 AM CDT)

It is Palm Sunday.
We begin Holy Week.
May God bless you this week.

"The huge crowd spread their cloaks on the road,
while some began to cut branches
from the trees and lay them along his path.
The groups preceding Jesus as well as
those following kept crying out:
'Hosanna to the son of David!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest!'
As he entered Jerusalem
the whole city was stirred to its depths,
demanding, 'Who is this?'
And the whole crowd kept answering,
'This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee.'"
Matthew 21:8-11

Welcome Jesus to your town.
It is a joyful time.
It is a glorious time.
It is a stirring time.
Jesus, come into my life.
I want to learn all about you.

(April 16, 2011 Sat 9:57 AM CDT)

It rained the entire day yesterday in Omaha.
The yards look beautiful now.

"...I charge you to preach the word,
to stay with this task
whether convenient or inconvenient ---
correcting, reproving, appealing ---
constantly teaching and never losing patience."
2 Timothy 4:2

The word must go out.
There is a story to tell.
There is information to be made known.
Proclaim the wonders of our God.
Stay with the task.

(April 15, 2011 Fri 6:31 AM CDT)

"Test yourselves to see
whether you are living in faith;
examine yourselves.
Perhaps you yourselves do not realize
that Christ Jesus is in you ---
unless, of course,
you have failed the challenge."
2 Corinthians 13:5

Are you living the faith?
Are you following the ways of Christ?
It is a challenge.
It takes focus and effort.
Call on him for help.
Follow him closely.

(April 13, 2011 Wed 6:38 AM CDT)

Peter said,
"You put to death the Author of life.
But God raised him from the dead,
and we are his witnesses."
Acts 3:15

Jesus is life.
He suffered death for us.
We see his power daily.
We are his witnesses.

(April 11, 2011 Mon 6:32 AM CDT)

I heard this at two different churches yesterday.

"Jesus told Martha:
'I am the resurrection and the life;
whoever believes in me,
though he should die, will come to life;
and whoever is alive and
believes in me will never die.
Do you believe this?'
'Yes, Lord,' she replied."
John 11:25-27

And what is your reply?
Do you believe in Jesus?
He is the resurrection and the life.
Believe and live.
Read chapter 11 of John.
Lazarus was dead and Jesus brought him back to life.

(April 10, 2011 Sun 8:29 AM CDT)

"Just as in Adam all die,
so in Christ all will come to life again,
but each one in proper order:
Christ the first fruits and then,
at his coming,
all those who belong to him."
1 Corinthians 15:22-23

Long to belong.
Belong to Christ.
Look forward to his coming in glory.
Come to life again.

(April 9, 2011 Sat 10:33 AM CDT)

"As soon as it was night,
the brothers sent Paul and Silas off to Beroea.
On their arrival, they went to the Jewish synagogue.
Its members were better disposed
than those in Thessalonica,
and welcomed the message with great enthusiasm.
Each day they studied the Scriptures
to see whether these things were so."
Acts 17:10-11

Study the Bible.
Read it each day.
Receive the message with enthusiasm.
The Lord will bless you with wisdom.

(April 8, 2011 Fri 6:28 AM CDT)

"When the day of Pentecost came
it found them gathered in one place.
Suddenly from up in the sky
there came a noise like a strong, driving wind
which was heard all through the house
where they were seated.
Tongues as of fire appeared,
which parted and came to rest on each of them.
All were filled with the Holy Spirit.
They began to express themselves in foreign tongues
and make bold proclamation
as the Spirit prompted them."
Acts 2:1-4

Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Pray to receive this fire from above.
It will change you.
You will proclaim the glory of the Lord.

(April 6, 2011 Wed 6:52 AM CDT)

"Jesus explained to them:
'I myself am the bread of life.
No one who comes to me shall ever be hungry;
no one who believes in me shall ever thirst.'"
John 6:35

Jesus is food for your soul.
He will provide for you.
You will find all that you need.
Go to him.

(April 4, 2011 Mon 6:27 AM CDT)

"Then Jesus told them:
'Go into the whole world and
proclaim the good news to all creation.
The man who believes in it and
accepts baptism will be saved;
the man who refuses to believe in it
will be condemned.'"
Mark 16:15-16

Believe in Jesus.
Believe the good news.
Call out to him and he will save you.
Jesus, I need you.
Save me, Lord.

(April 3, 2011 Sun 9:29 AM CDT)

My aunt in Ohio passed away last night.
Pray for her and all her family and friends.
God bless all of them today.

Jesus said,
"Blest too are the sorrowing;
they shall be consoled."
Matthew 5:4

In times of sorrow turn to the Lord.
He will comfort you with his peace.
Jesus, be with my family today.
We need you.

(April 2, 2011 Sat 9:41 AM CDT)

"To this, Peter and the apostles replied:
'Better for us to obey God than men!'"
Acts 5:29

Who will you obey?
Who will you follow?
Be a disciple of Jesus.
Tell others about him.
It is the better path
that leads to eternal life.

(April 1, 2011 Fri 6:35 AM CDT)

"As Jesus said this he exclaimed:
'Let everyone who has ears
attend to what he has heard.'"
Luke 8:8

Read what Jesus has said.
Open your mind to his saving grace.
He will bring you joy and peace.
Listen to him.
