Believe in Jesus
Jesus is the way, truth and life

You need hope

God is good

Seek the truth

Believe and live

(July 31, 2011 Sun 8:26 AM CDT)

"In times past,
God spoke in fragmentary and varied ways
to our fathers through the prophets;
in this, the final age,
he has spoken to us through his Son,
whom he has made heir of all things and
through whom he first created the universe."
Hebrews 1:1-2

Jesus was and is God.
He came to earth.
He became one of us.
He spoke to us.
He is the one that created the universe.
Listen to him.

(July 30, 2011 Sat 10:34 AM CDT)

"There is One who can protect you from a fall
and make you stand unblemished and
exultant in the presence of his glory.
Glory be to this only God our Savior,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Majesty, too, be his,
might and power from ages past,
now and for ages to come.
Amen."
Jude 1:24-25

He is the One and there is no other.
Jesus is our Savior.
He is all power and might.
He is King for all ages.
Give praise to him.

(July 29, 2011 Fri 6:29 AM CDT)

"On the seventh day the king
came to mourn for Daniel.
As he came to the den and looked in,
there was Daniel, sitting there!
The king cried aloud, 'You are great,
O Lord, the God of Daniel,
and there is no other besides you!'
Daniel he took out..."
Daniel 14:40-42

Daniel was there with the lions.
He should have perished,
but God was with him and saved him.
Have hope.
The Lord is great!
He will rescue you from destruction.
He will set you free.

(July 28, 2011 Thu 6:28 AM CDT)

"This is the word of the Lord
that came to Jonah, son of Amittai:
'Set out for the great city of Nineveh,
and preach against it;
their wickedness has come up before me.'
But Jonah made ready to flee to Tarshish
away from the Lord."
Jonah 1:1-3

God had a plan for Jonah.
He ran away.
God has a plan for your life.
Are you listening to his calling?
Are you doing the will of God?
Stand up against evil.
Proclaim the greatness of the Lord.

(July 27, 2011 Wed 6:35 AM CDT)

Overnight we had rain.
I don't know whether to pray for rain or not
because of all the flooding in Nebraska and Iowa.
We do need rain for the crops to grow.
Lord, send the rain just where it is needed
if that is possible.

"Joseph got up and took the child
and his mother and
left that night for Egypt."
Matthew 2:14

It was not easy for Joseph, Mary and Jesus.
They had to leave their own country.
Later they returned after Herod was dead (see verse 20).
Life is a struggle.
Take the Lord with you on the journey.

(July 26, 2011 Tue 6:24 AM CDT)

"Immediately afterward, while dismissing the crowds,
Jesus insisted that his disciples get into the boat
and precede him to the other side.
When he had sent them away,
he went up the mountain by himself to pray,
remaining there alone as evening drew on."
Matthew 14:22-23

You need to pray.
You need to get away and pray.
If Jesus needed it, you need it.
Make time each day to talk to God.

(July 25, 2011 Mon 6:30 AM CDT)

"The angel said to him:
'Do not be frightened, Zechariah;
your prayer has been heard.
Your wife Elizabeth shall bear a son
whom you shall name John.
Joy and gladness will be yours,
and many will rejoice at his birth
for he will be great
in the eyes of the Lord.'"
Luke 1:13-15

Have no fear.
Your prayers are heard.
The Lord will respond.
Rejoice at the works of the Lord.
He will open your eyes to see awesome insights.

(July 24, 2011 Sun 8:30 AM CDT)

Lately I have been studying SharePoint 2010 .

"The members of the church who had dispersed
went about preaching the word.
Philip, for example, went down
to the town of Samaria
and there proclaimed the Messiah.
Without exception, the crowds that heard Philip
and saw the miracles he performed
attended closely to what he had to say."
Acts 8:4-6

The early Christians were being persecuted in Jerusalem.
They fled to other towns.
They brought the message of Jesus with them.
Good things can come from difficult circumstances.
Attend closely to what the Bible has to say.
Go where the Lord sends you.
Share what you know.

(July 23, 2011 Sat 10:40 AM CDT)

"You need to recall the words
of the Lord Jesus himself, who said,
'There is more happiness
in giving than receiving.'"
Acts 20:35

Give.
Serve.
Be thoughtful.
Be happy.

(July 22, 2011 Fri 7:25 AM CDT)

"For if you confess with your lips
that Jesus is Lord,
and believe in your heart
that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved.
Faith in the heart leads to justification,
confession on the lips to salvation."
Romans 10:9-10

You must say it.
You must confess that you believe in Jesus.
Have faith and trust in him.
You will be saved.
Jesus, I believe in you.

(July 21, 2011 Thu 6:29 AM CDT)

Paul wrote,
"And this recompense of mine?
It is simply this, that when preaching
I offer the gospel free of charge
and do not make full use
of the authority the gospel gives me."
1 Corinthians 9:18

It is offered to you for free.
God gives you the gift of salvation.
Read about God's saving grace.
Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and receive new life.
Attend church each week.

(July 20, 2011 Wed 6:22 AM CDT)

"Let us hold unswervingly to our profession
which gives us hope,
for he who made the promise deserves our trust.
We must consider how to rouse each other
to love and good deeds."
Hebrews 10:23-24

Hold on.
Hold on to your faith in Christ.
Cherish it.
Act on it.
Encourage one another.
Cheer them on to greatness.

(July 19, 2011 Tue 6:23 AM CDT)

Jesus taught,
"Seek first his kingship over you,
his way of holiness,
and all these things
will be given you besides.
Enough, then, of worrying about tomorrow.
Let tomorrow take care of itself.
Today has troubles enough of its own."
Matthew 6:33-34

Concentrate on today.
Focus on tasks at the moment.
Be present to those near you.
Minister to them in the name of Christ.

(July 18, 2011 Mon 6:40 AM CDT)

"The Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us,
and we have seen his glory:
The glory of an only Son
coming from the Father,
filled with enduring love."
John 1:14

Jesus is God.
He became one of us.
He was fully human and fully God.
We don't understand this kind of love.
It is an enduring love.

(July 17, 2011 Sun 9:00 AM CDT)

"About midnight, while Paul and Silas
were praying and singing hymns to God
as their fellow prisoners listened,
a severe earthquake suddenly shook the place,
rocking the prison to its foundations.
Immediately all the doors flew open
and everyone's chains were pulled loose."
Acts 16:25-26

Pray to the Lord.
He will set you free.
He hears your prayers and reacts.
He likes to shake things up.
Your solid foundation is in him.

(July 16, 2011 Sat 10:15 AM CDT)

"In the vicinity of that place
was the estate of Publius,
the chief figure on the island.
He took us in and gave us
kind hospitality for three days."
Acts 28:7

Be kind.
Offer hospitality.
Share what you have.
God has blessed you and will bless you.

(July 15, 2011 Fri 6:44 AM CDT)

"We even rejoice when we are weak
and you are strong.
Our prayer is that you
may be built up to completion."
2 Corinthians 13:9

Meet the challenge before you.
Be strong in the Lord.
Set goals.
Complete your work with his help.

(July 14, 2011 Thu 6:32 AM CDT)

"But when the kindness and love
of God our Savior appeared, he saved us;
not because of any righteous deeds we had done,
but because of his mercy."
Titus 3:4-5

We cannot earn heaven.
It is a free gift.
Thank the Lord for his mercy and love.
He is most wonderful and thoughtful.

(July 13, 2011 Wed 6:23 AM CDT)

Jesus taught,
"... you shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart,
with all your soul,
with all your mind,
and with all your strength."
...
"You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
There is no other commandment greater than these."
Mark 12:30-31

With all that you are love the Lord.
Think often of him.
Give praise to him each morning.
Help those near you.
Be strong with the Lord.

(July 12, 2011 Tue 6:18 AM CDT)

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' instruction
and communal life, to the breaking of bread
and the prayers.
A reverent fear overtook them all,
for many wonders and signs
were performed by the apostles."
Acts 2:42-43

There is much to learn.
Study the Bible.
Live the faith.
See the signs and wonders of the Lord.

(July 11, 2011 Mon 6:21 AM CDT)

"May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ
grant the brothers peace and love and faith.
Grace be with all who love
our Lord Jesus Christ with unfailing love."
Ephesians 6:23-24

God bless you and your family today.
May he grant you peace.
He is our hope for the future.
He is all that we need.
His love never fails.

(July 10, 2011 Sun 8:31 AM CDT)

"The grace of God has appeared,
offering salvation to all men."
Titus 2:11

It is there for everyone.
Open your eyes to see God's abundant blessings.
Open your heart to his healing love.
The grace of God is yours.

(July 9, 2011 Sat 11:09 AM CDT)

"The apostles on their return
related to Jesus
all they had accomplished."
Luke 9:10

Do you have anything to report?
Have you accomplished anything?
Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.
Live for the Lord.
Accomplish great things.

(July 8, 2011 Fri 6:26 AM CDT)

Someone that I was talking to
a few days ago is in labor.
God bless her and her new child today.

"Pilate interrogated him again:
'Surely you have some answer?
See how many accusations
they are leveling against you.'
But greatly to Pilate's surprise,
Jesus made no further response."
Mark 15:4-5

Sometimes there is nothing you can say.
Then it is time to pray.
Pray for your enemies.
Pray for those who don't understand.
Lift up their souls to the Lord.

(July 7, 2011 Thu 6:32 AM CDT)

"Some men's sins are flagrant and
cry out for judgment now,
while other men's sins
will appear only later.
Similarly, some good deeds
stand out clearly as such;
even inconspicuous ones
cannot be hidden forever."
1 Timothy 5:24-25

We fail.
We sin.
Ask the Lord for forgiveness.
Be positive.
Do good.
Make the world a better place today.
Bring a smile to someone's face.
I talked to someone from Joplin, Missouri recently.
They are trying to put
their life together after the tornado.
Keep praying for them.

(July 6, 2011 Wed 6:40 AM CDT)

Paul said,
"I appeal to the emperor!"
Therefore Festus declared:
"You have appealed to the emperor.
To the emperor you shall go."
Acts 25:11-12

Paul was a Roman citizen.
He had a right to appeal his case to the emperor.
He took a trip to Rome.
He was a witness to Christ.
Go where the Lord sends you.

(July 5, 2011 Tue 6:25 AM CDT)

"Forty years later an angel appeared to him
in the desert near Mount Sinai
in the flame of a burning thornbush.
When Moses saw it, he marveled at the sight.
As he drew near to observe it carefully,
the voice of the Lord was heard:
'I am the God of your fathers,
the God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob.'"
Acts 7:30-32

Come and see.
Take a close look at the marvels.
The Lord is near.
Listen to the voice of God.

(July 4, 2011 Mon 9:22 AM CDT)

I did not have to work today.
Happy 4th of July!

Jesus asked,
"Why look at the speck in your brother's eye
when you miss the plank in your own?"
Luke 6:41

It depends on your point of view.
Don't point a finger
because many fingers point back to you.
Let the Lord judge others.
Ask the Lord for mercy for your faults.
Jesus, forgive my sins.
I have done wrong.

(July 3, 2011 Sun 8:44 AM CDT)

"They will fight against the Lamb
but he Lamb will conquer them,
for he is the Lord of lords
and the King of kings;
victorious, too, will be his followers ---
the ones who were called:
the chosen and the faithful."
Revelation 17:14

Be on the winning team.
Be with the Lord of lords.
He will win.
Follow him and be faithful.

(July 2, 2011 Sat 10:02 AM CDT)

"Through him the whole body grows,
and with the proper functioning
of the members joined firmly together
by each supporting ligament,
builds itself up in love."
Ephesians 4:16

We are the Body of Christ.
We support each other.
We grow together.
Pray for your brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Encourage them.

(July 1, 2011 Fri 6:36 AM CDT)

"On the evening of the first day of the week,
even though the disciples had locked the doors
of the place where they were for fear of the Jews,
Jesus came and stood before them.
'Peace be with you,' he said.
When he said this,
he showed them his hands and his side.
At the sight of the Lord the disciples rejoiced."
John 20:19-20

There is much chaos in this life.
We have many troubles.
We need the peace that comes from knowing Jesus.
He will comfort your soul.
He is pure joy.
