Love is God and God is love
Seek and you will find the truth

Love the Lord with all your heart

Trust in Jesus

God bless you my friend

Forgive and forgive and forgive (*70)

(October 31, 2011 Mon 6:30 AM CDT)

They read this at church yesterday.

Jesus said,
"The greatest among you will be the one
who serves the rest.
Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled,
but whoever humbles himself shall be exalted."
Matthew 23:11-12

Think of others.
Put them first.
Be of service to them.
God will bless you for your thoughtfulness.

(October 30, 2011 Sun 8:54 AM CDT)

"Many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the events
which have been fulfilled in our midst,
precisely as those events were transmitted to us
by the original eyewitnesses and ministers of the word."
Luke 1:1-2

Many people wrote about Jesus.
He was an amazing person.
He did amazing things.
They wanted to put it into writing.
Read the gospels ( Matthew , Mark , Luke and John )
one chapter per day.
See in great detail what the eyewitnesses had to say.

(October 29, 2011 Sat 9:37 AM CDT)

Jesus told this story of the prodigal son:
"Coming to his senses at last, he said:
'How many hired hands at my father's place
have more than enough to eat,
while here I am starving!
I will break away and return to my father,
and say to him, Father,
I have sinned against God and against you;
I no longer deserve to be called your son.
Treat me like one of your hired hands.'
With that he set off for his father's house.
While he was still a long way off,
his father caught sight of him
and was deeply moved.
He ran out to meet him,
threw his arms around his neck,
and kissed him."
Luke 15:17-20

It is an amazing story that Jesus told.
The Father in heaven is constantly watching
for his children to come home.
You are not a "hired hand" but a child of God.
He is overjoyed if you change your life
and give up your sinful ways.
Welcome home.

(October 28, 2011 Fri 6:35 AM CDT)

"Men of Israel, listen to me!
Jesus the Nazorean was a man
whom God sent to you
with miracles, wonders, and signs
as his credentials.
These God worked through him
in your midst, as you well know."
Acts 2:22

Jesus is God.
He was sent to us.
He worked many miracles.
They saw what he did.
He is the Messiah.
You know it.

(October 27, 2011 Thu 6:43 AM CDT)

"There is no condemnation now
for those who are in Christ Jesus."
Romans 8:1

Believe in Jesus.
Give your life to him.
Ask him to forgive your sins.
Each day is a new day.
Live for the Lord.

(October 26, 2011 Wed 6:25 AM CDT)

Yesterday I lost my keys for a few minutes.
I could not find them no matter how hard I tried.
I had to use an extra key to start my car.
I found them later in one of the many pockets
of my briefcase when I got to work.
It was crazy.

"Jesus has obtained a more excellent ministry now,
just as he is mediator of a better covenant,
founded on better promises."
Hebrews 8:6

There are promises.
Jesus has promised to never leave you.
He is always there for you.
He has promised you eternal life if you believe in him.
Look forward to spending eternity with him.

(October 25, 2011 Tue 6:24 AM CDT)

"Then Zechariah his father,
filled with the Holy Spirit,
uttered this prophecy:
'Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel
because he has visited and ransomed his people.'"
Luke 1:67-68

God sent his son Jesus to earth.
He became one of us.
He suffered and died for our sins.
He saved his people from death.
Give praise to the Lord.

(October 24, 2011 Mon 6:31 AM CDT)

"In the beginning was the Word;
the Word was in God's presence,
and the Word was God."
John 1:1

God has always existed.
God will always be.
He is beyond time and space.
Give praise to the Lord today.

(October 23, 2011 Sun 9:13 AM CDT)

I was just listening to this song by Toby Mac .
I heard it on radio KGBI 100.7 FM
the other day in Omaha.
I like the part at 0:45...
"Then I saw your face".

"Seeing him, Peter was prompted to ask Jesus,
'But Lord, what about him?'
'Suppose I want him to stay until I come,'
Jesus replied, 'how does that concern you?
Your business is to follow me.'"
John 21:21-22

There you have it.
Your business is to follow Jesus.
Focus on him alone.
Other people have a different calling.
Be ready for when Jesus returns.
See his face.

(October 22, 2011 Sat 11:02 AM CDT)

Yesterday I had a plumber come
and fix a few things in the house.
God bless him and his family.

"When it was day, the magistrates dispatched officers
with orders to let these men go.
The jailer conveyed this information to Paul:
'The magistrates have sent orders
that you are to be released.
Get started, now. On your way!'"
Acts 16:35-36

It is time to get started.
It is time to make goals.
Seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.
Be on your way.

(October 21, 2011 Fri 8:38 AM CDT)

"We pray for you always
that our God may make you
worthy of his call,
and fulfill by his power
every honest intention
and work of faith."
2 Thessalonians 1:11

Prayer is important.
Pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ.
May God bless their work.
God has called us all to great works of faith.

(October 20, 2011 Thu 6:37 AM CDT)

"At that the whole assembly fell silent.
They listened to Barnabas and Paul
as the two described all the signs and wonders
God had worked among the Gentiles through them."
Acts 15:12

It is amazing what God has done.
It is amazing what God is doing now.
Look and see the wonders of our God.
Be in awe of his wonderful power.

(October 19, 2011 Wed 6:43 AM CDT)

I was reading about Alotta Brownies
in Fremont, Nebraska this morning.
They are not open on Sundays.
The newspaper said their white cake was awesome.
It was a 75 year old family recipe.
I wanted to try some.

"The general rule is that
each one should lead the life
the Lord has assigned him,
continuing as he was
when the Lord called him."
1 Corinthians 7:17

The Lord can use you right where you are.
You don't have to go off to far away countries.
Be a light of encouragement to those near you.
Be sunshine in a dark world.

(October 18, 2011 Tue 6:35 AM CDT)

"Love is patient;
love is kind.
Love is not jealous,
it does not put on airs,
it is not snobbish."
1 Corinthians 13:4

Read Chapter 13 of 1 Corinthians.
Love is many things.
Love never fails (see verse 8).
Ask the Lord to teach you to love.
We have much to learn.

(October 17, 2011 Mon 6:28 AM CDT)

"Whatever you do,
work at it with your whole being.
Do it for the Lord rather than for men,
since you know full well
you will receive an inheritance
from him as your reward."
Colossians 3:23-24

Work for the Lord.
Offer up your day to him.
Serve the Lord.
He will bless you abundantly.

(October 16, 2011 Sun 9:08 AM CDT)

"Worthy is the Lamb that was slain
to receive power and riches,
wisdom and strength,
honor and glory and praise!"
Revelation 5:12

Jesus is the Lamb of God.
He gave his life for us.
Give praise to him today.
Thank him for his great sacrifice.

(October 15, 2011 Sat 9:55 AM CDT)

"He went on to say:
'These words are already fulfilled!
I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End.
To anyone who thirsts
I will give to drink without cost
from the spring of life-giving water.
He who wins the victory shall inherit these gifts;
I will be his God and he shall be my son.'"
Revelation 21:6-7

God is beyond time.
He always was and will always be.
Give praise and honor to him.
Give him all the glory.
Praise the Lord.

(October 14, 2011 Fri 6:31 AM CDT)

"Their amazement went beyond all bounds:
'He has done everything well!
He makes the deaf hear and the mute speak!'"
Mark 7:37

Jesus is amazing.
He healed the sick.
He raised the dead.
Learn all about him.
Pray to him daily.

(October 13, 2011 Thu 6:43 AM CDT)

The son of someone I work with is in the hospital.
Pray for him and all his family.
God bless him and heal him.

"It is this same disciple
who is the witness to these things;
it is he who wrote them down
and his testimony, we know, is true."
John 21:24

John was with Jesus.
He saw what he did and said.
He was a witness to the truth.
Share what you know about the Lord.
The Lord is good.

(October 12, 2011 Wed 6:41 AM CDT)

Today would have been my dad's 90th birthday.
He died a few years ago.

Yesterday someone asked me to pray for them.
Please lift them up in prayer today.
God bless them and be with them.
I keep their business card on my kitchen table
to remember to pray for them.

"What happens is that
I do not the good I will to do,
but the evil I do not intend."
Romans 7:19

It is a struggle.
You have choices each day.
Will you do the right thing?
Will you do God's will?
Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance.
Do what is holy and pleasing to God.

(October 11, 2011 Tue 6:31 AM CDT)

A neighbor down the street died a few weeks ago.
I would wave to him as I drove by.
I did not know his name or ever talk to him
or anyone in his family.
He worked for Millard Electric.
He would leave for work sometimes
when I would be going to work in the morning.
He drove a Millard Electric truck.
Then I would see him sometimes during the day
and think he must be retired
but he was not that old to be retired.
He must have been sick and off work on those days.
I do pray for everyone in my neighborhood often.
Pray for him and his family.
God bless them today.

"My God in turn will supply your needs fully,
in a way worthy of his magnificent riches in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:19

You have nothing to worry about.
God knows what you need.
He loves you very much.
He wants the best for you.
Trust in him for all that you need.

(October 10, 2011 Mon 6:38 AM CDT)

It was one year ago that I was in NYC .
God bless all the people that live there.

"In view of this,
we must attend all the more
to what we have heard,
lest we drift away."
Hebrews 2:1

You know the truth.
Jesus is the Lord.
Pray and study the Bible each day.
Don't drift away.
Stay near Jesus all the days of your life.

(October 9, 2011 Sun 9:24 AM CDT)

"Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve,
went off to the chief priests
to hand Jesus over to them.
Hearing what he had to say,
they were jubilant and promised
to give him money.
He for his part kept looking
for an opportune way to hand him over."
Mark 14:10-11

There is evil in the world.
People will betray you and hurt you.
Pray for your enemies.
Stay near to Jesus.
Forgive those who do you harm.

(October 8, 2011 Sat 10:40 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"I give you a new commandment:
Love one another.
Such as my love has been for you,
so must your love be for each other.
This is how all will know you for my disciples:
your love for one another."
John 13:34-35

Be kind.
Be thoughtful.
Think of the needs of others.
Help them.
God will bless your efforts.

(October 7, 2011 Fri 8:39 AM CDT)

"God, who reads the hearts of men,
showed his approval by granting the Holy Spirit
to them just as he did to us.
He made no distinction between them and us,
but purified their hearts by means of faith, also."
Acts 15:8-9

The Holy Spirit is available to all people everywhere.
Come, Holy Spirit.
Come into my life.
Change me.
Renew my soul.
Increase my faith.

(October 6, 2011 Thu 6:31 AM CDT)

I found out yesterday on Facebook
that someone I work with had passed away.
I just talked to her a few days ago.
She always said, "Good morning" to me.
Pray for her and all her family and friends.
God bless all of them.

"Praise be God, the Father of mercies,
and the God of all consolation!
He comforts us in all our afflictions
and thus enables us to comfort
those who are in trouble,
with the same consolation
we have received from him."
2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Be with those who are hurting today.
Share the peace of the Lord with them.
Pray for them.
Listen to them.

(October 5, 2011 Wed 6:32 AM CDT)

"This treasure we possess in earthen vessels,
to make it clear:
that its surpassing power comes from God
and not from us."
2 Corinthians 4:7

Your strength for each day comes from the Lord.
He is your source of power to achieve great things.
Call on him.
He is all that you need.

(October 4, 2011 Tue 6:35 AM CDT)

"It is in Christ and through his blood
that we have been redeemed
and our sins forgiven,
so immeasurably generous is God's favor to us.
God has given us the wisdom
to understand fully the mystery,
the plan he was pleased to decree in Christ,
to be carried out in the fullness of time:
namely, to bring all things in the heavens
and on earth into one under Christ's headship."
Ephesians 1:7-10

The Lord is very generous.
It is amazing what he has done for us.
He is our Savior.
We follow his plan of salvation.
We can lead a full life.

(October 3, 2011 Mon 6:31 AM CDT)

"Beloved,
if God has loved us so,
we must have the same love for one another.
No one has ever seen God.
Yet if we love one another
God dwells in us,
and his love is brought to perfection in us."
1 John 4:11-12

God loves you very much.
He cares for you always.
He is thinking about you.
Reach out to your brothers and sisters and family.
Love your neighbors.
Be kind to those at work and school.

(October 2, 2011 Sun 9:24 AM CDT)

"May God the Father and Lord Jesus Christ
grant the brothers peace and love and faith.
Grace be with all who love
our Lord Jesus Christ with unfailing love."
Ephesians 6:23-24

Peace is important.
You want peace in your life.
Turn to the king of peace --- Jesus.
He loves you with unfailing love.

(October 1, 2011 Sat 10:59 AM CDT)

"I will forgive their evildoing,
and their sins I will remember no more."
Hebrews 8:12

Ask the Lord to forgive your sins.
He forgives and forgets.
Your life is restored.
Start a new day.
Jesus, I have done wrong.
Forgive my sins.
