A relative of mine was telling me that they were

The gate assignment for the plane had changed during the day.
They went to the wrong gate and
then had to get a ride
from one end of the airport to the other.
When he got to the gate the people said
that they were not sure if they would let him get on board.
The plane was still sitting there.
They did finally let him on the plane.

I found that there is a version of Unix/Linux

I am writing this today on the iMac using
Launchpad -> Utilities -> Terminal and then ssh.
It is different --- that is for sure.
The keyboard is different for one thing.
I keep hitting the wrong keys.
It is cultural shock.
I downloaded a 4 GB file yesterday twice (not too smart).
I tried to install the
SDK
for Apple iPhone development.
I did not succeed.
The different versions of the software
with names like Lion (new) and Snow Leopard (old)
are driving me crazy.
I can't find Xcode.app after I install the SDK,
but I will figure it out someday.

I did buy a new
iMac
yesterday.

I tried to use Control-C to copy some text
and that does not work on Apple PCs.
I just bing-ed the answer.
You use Command-C and Command-V to copy and paste.
Command-X is to cut text.
I will have to try that out.
I am still using my Windows PC to type this.
I can remember reading MacWorld in the 1980's.
I never bought an Apple
Lisa
or
Macintosh
PC
because they cost *way* too much ($10K or $2.6K).
Even now they cost too much compared to other PCs.
There is much to learn.

I had to change to a different cube yesterday at work.

The PC there was not working correctly so I had to move.
They put a sign on the computer that said
it needed to be repaired.
I had been sitting there for about a year.
It was stressful to have to move to a new location.
The desktop of the PC did not look the same.
I face 180 degrees in the opposite direction now.
I see many things happening during the day
that I was not aware of before.
I can see a clock on the west wall of the room.
It will take some time to adjust to the new setting.
