Hey, Good Morning! It's 2:16 AM CDT (Central Daylight Time) here in Omaha and the "Thunder Rolls" as Garth would sing.
The "S2L 1996 Tour" continues today in Omaha. It should be an exciting day. And you ask "Where have I been?" Well...
Here's a brief outline:
On September 16, 1996, I visited
Holton, Kansas
(in the good old USA, of course)
Population of about 3,000, 135 miles south of
Omaha
on Hwy 75 or
30 miles north of
Topeka, Kansas
on Hwy 75 also
.
(BTW (By The Way) I don't live too far from this picture of the
Old Mill Area
in Omaha.)
On September 18, 1996, I drove to Loveland, Colorado . That is about 540 miles west of Omaha on I-80 and I-76 and Hwy 34. It takes 8 or 9 hours to get there. Loveland is really popular on Valentine's Day for some reason. This town has the most beautiful setting! Wow! I stayed at the Hampton Inn at the intersection of I-25 and Hwy 34 for free. (It is a very long story. Just ask Rochelle.) It is a very nice place to stay and just watch the clouds roll over the Rocky Mountains out the window. Loveland has Lake Loveland in the center of town along Hwy 34. It should be against the law to drive by there without stopping. Stop there and take a walk along that lake!
On September 19, 1996, I was in downtown Denver, Colorado . I had lunch with one of my best friends in this world. We are "Friends Forever", as they say (or is it "Forever Friends"?). It was nice to see her and tell her about all the exciting things happening in my life. I think I overwelmed her with it all! I should call her today and see if she is OK. She likes the TV program Friends . I watched the Season Premiere from Silverthone, Colorado . (Check out Summit Net for info on Summit County in Colorado. The snow should be great this year!) It is definitely something for me to write about in a future article.
Sometime on my tour I started to listen to a song each morning to start the day. It is "Faithful Friend" by Twila Paris and Steven Curtis Chapman. It is song number 4 on the "Where I Stand" CD of Twila Paris. (I'm listening to it now at 4:05 AM, as I write this.) It is a wonderful way to start the day. I also read 1 Corinthians 13 every morning and give copies away to many people. (This passage was read around the world in many Catholic churches on September 18, 1996.)
(NOTE: I will add more to this as I get time this week.)
