January 1 to 31, 1998

Praise the Lord
Love each other

Sing for joy

Love the Lord your God

Stand for the truth

Be fully alive

(January 31, 1998 6:32 AM CST)

"He was known to be of human estate,
and it was thus that he humbled himself,
obediently accepting even death,
death on a cross!
Because of this, God highly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
above every other name,
so that at Jesus' name
every knee must bend
in the heavens, on the earth,
and under the earth,
and every tongue proclaim
to the glory of God the Father:
Jesus Christ is Lord!"
Philippians 2:7-11

Jesus gave everything.
He is very generous.
He loves you very much.
He is the Lord.
His name is to be praised.
Let us kneel.
Let us bow before him.
Let us proclaim his glory.

(January 30, 1998 6:32 AM CST)

Pray for Ben today.
He is having problems. Thanks.

"Though he was in the form of God,
he did not deem equality with God
something to be grasped at.
Rather, he emptied himself
and took the form of a slave,
being born in the likeness of men."
Philippians 2:6-7

Jesus came to earth.
He became one of us.
He gave up everything to save us.
He was humble.
Let us be thankful.
Let us praise the Lord.

(January 29, 1998 6:24 AM CST)

Happy Birthday, Dola!
God bless you today.

"Conduct yourselves, then, in a way
worthy of the gospel of Christ.
If you do, whether I come and see
you myself of hear about your
behavior from a distance,
it will be clear that you are standing
firm in unity of spirit and exerting
yourselves with one accord
for the faith of the gospel."
Philippians 1:27

Is your community one?
Do you have peace?
Is the Holy Spirit there?
Be firm.
May your behavior give glory to God.
Do you share the Good News?

(January 28, 1998 6:28 AM CST)

"I give thanks to my God
every time I think of you ---
which is constantly,
in every prayer I utter ---
rejoicing, as I plead on your behalf,
at the way you have all continually
helped promote the gospel
from the very first day."
Philippians 1:3-5

Would the Lord say this to you?
Do you spread the "Good News"?
Are you joyful?
Do you pray constantly?
Be a witness.
What is the "state of the union"
for you this year?
Are you closer to Jesus?

(January 26, 1998 6:29 AM CST)

"I have waited, waited for the Lord,
and he stooped toward me and
heard my cry.
He drew me out of the pit of destruction,
out of the mud of the swamp;
He set my feet upon a crag;
he made firm my steps.
And he put a new song into my mouth,
a hymn to our God.
Many shall look on in awe
and trust in the Lord."
Psalms 40:1-4

The Lord is awesome.
Have you looked at the
Astronomy Pictures lately?
He is big, big, big.
We are nothing.
Trust in the Lord Jesus.
He became one of us.
He lowered himself.
He showed how much he loves us.
Sing a new song today.
Call on the name of the Lord
and you will have a friend forever.

(January 25, 1998 6:43 AM CST)

The week of January 25 Billy Graham
will be on TV in the USA and Canada.
So check your local listings for the day and the time.
(Pick your state and city and do a
search for "Billy Graham" and
it will give you the times.
In Omaha, Nebraska it will be
broadcast at
7PM on Thursday, January 29th
on KXVO channel 15.)

"For just as from the heavens
the rain and snow come down
and do not return there
until they have watered the earth,
making it fertile and fruitful,
giving seed to him who sows
and bread to him who eats,
so shall my word be
that goes forth from my mouth;
it shall not return to me void,
but shall do my will,
achieving the end for which I sent it."
Isaiah 55:10-11

If you read God's words in the Bible,
it will change your life.
It will be fruitful.
You will grow.
You will be different.
If you tell others about Jesus,
it will change them.
Plant some seeds.
Watch them grow.
It will achieve God's objective
to renew the face of the earth.
He makes all things new.
Faith comes by hearing.
Say something today.
Share the gift.

(January 24, 1998 6:32 AM CST)

We pray today for the people of Cuba.
God bless the Pope's visit there.
May many people come to know
the Lord Jesus Christ.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord.
As high as the heavens are above the earth,
so high are my ways above your ways
and my thoughts above your thoughts."
Isaiah 55:8-9

We don't always understand.
The Lord does not think like us.
He knows what is best for us.
He knows that marriage is for two people ---
a man and a woman.
Sex is just for those who are married.
Abortion is not right.
Tell the truth.
Don't take something that
does not belong to you.
He set up the 10 Commandments
because He knows what will work.
He is very intelligent.
Do you trust the Lord?
He cares about you.
He wants you to be happy.
To follow the Lord creates order
in the midst of chaos.
Just look at the scandal in
the White House.

(January 23, 1998 6:25 AM CST)

Happy Birthday, Rachel!
God bless you today.

"Elijah said to Elisha,
'Please stay here;
the Lord has sent me on to the
Jordan.' 'As the Lord lives, and
as you yourself live,' Elisha replied,
'I will not leave you.' And so the
two went on together. Fifty of the
guild prophets followed, and when the
two stopped at the Jordan, stood facing
them at a distance. Elijah took his
mantle, rolled it up and struck the water,
which divided, and both crossed
over on dry ground."
2 Kings 2:6-8

The Lord will never leave you.
He will protect you.
He will make a safe path for you.
He will lead you to heaven.
Jesus is the way.
Follow him.
All will be lost without Him.

(January 22, 1998 6:28 AM CST)

"On one occasion when Jesus met with
them, he told them not to leave Jerusalem:
'Wait, rather, for the fulfillment of my
Father's promise, of which you have heard
me speak. John baptized with water, but
within a few days you will be baptized
with the Holy Spirit.'"
Acts 1:4-5

Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Ask and you will receive this gift.
I pray that all who visit here
will receive the Holy Spirit.
It is a promise.
Be blessed.
Be baptized in the name of Jesus.

(January 21, 1998 6:28 AM CST)

Offer up praise today.
Give glory to the Lord.
Give thanks to His holy name.
Praise the name of Jesus.
Holy is the Lord.
Thank you, Lord, for your gifts.
We praise you for the snow today.
It makes things look so bright.
May your glory shine.
Bless us this day, Lord.
Pour out new life for us.
Forgive us.

(January 20, 1998 6:21 AM CST)

"Jesus poured water into a basin
and began to wash his disciples'
feet and dry them with the towel
he had around him. Thus he came
to Simon Peter, who said to him,
'Lord, are you going to wash my feet?'
Jesus answered, 'You may not realize
now what I am doing, but later you
will understand.' Peter replied,
'You shall never wash my feet!'
'If I do not wash you,' Jesus answered,
'you will have no share in my heritage.'"
John 13:5-8

Why argue with the Lord?
Why fight the Lord?
He knows what is best for you.
He pours out His life for you.
Receive his blessings.
He offers you forgiveness of your sins.
Do you let Him wash you clean?
Ask Jesus to forgive your sins today.
Only later will you realize the
great blessing you have been given.
Receive the waters of life.

Pray for my Mom today.
Her back is hurting. Thanks.

(January 19, 1998 6:30 AM CST)

God loves you.
He does.
He cares about you.
He made you.
You are his.
You are a child of God.
Come and believe.

Some people dream of winning the lottery.
They want millions and millions of dollars.
God offers you a gift.
It is free.
It is worth more that all the money in the world.
It is eternal life.
You can't buy this gift.
God gives it to you for free.
You can live forever with Him.
He is all goodness.
He is the treasure of all treasures.
Sell everything and follow Him.
Jesus is the way.
Have faith.

(January 18, 1998 6:56 AM CST)

It is the Lord's day today.
Attend church today.
Worship God with others.
This will lift your spirit.
You need prayer in your life.
This will give you strength.
You need others.

"Ask, and you will receive.
Seek, and you will find.
Knock, and it will be opened to you.
For the one who asks, receives.
The one who seeks, finds.
The one who knocks, enters."
Matthew 7:7-8

Ask Jesus to help you.
Ask him to bless you.
Seek to know more about Him.
He is truth.
Open the door.
Enter in.

(January 17, 1998 6:40 AM CST)

Please, pray for Debbie to find a job.

"All hands had gone without food
for a long time when Paul
stood up among them and said:
'Men, you should have taken my
advice and not set sail from Crete .
Then you would not have incurred this
disastrous loss.
I urge you now to keep up your courage.
None among you will be lost ---
only the ship.'"
Acts 27:21-22
(Read all of chapter 27 on the shipwreck.
There were 276 persons on the ship.
They all survived.)

Many people are caught in a storm.
You wonder if you will survive.
God says to have courage.
Be of strong faith.
You will not perish.
Call on the name of the Lord.
He will hear you and rescue you.
The Lord also warns you
not to go some places.
Do you listen?
Read God's words every day.

(January 16, 1998 6:32 AM CST)

Happy Birthday, Paul!
Have a great day.

Pray for Jim.
He was hit by a car a few days ago.

"Rejoice always,
never cease praying,
render constant thanks;
such is God's will for you
in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Are you rejoicing?
Are you happy?
The Lord says to rejoice.
Be glad.
We have hope.
The Lord Jesus has saved us.
We are happy.
Pray always.
Think about the Lord.
He has done great things for us.
Be thankful.

(January 15, 1998 6:36 AM CST)

"God is our refuge and our strength,
an ever-present help in distress.
Therefore we fear not,
though the earth be shaken and
mountains plunge into the
depths of the sea;
Though it waters rage and foam
and the mountains quake at its surging.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
our stronghold is the
God of Jacob.
Be still, and know that I am God."
Psalms 46:1-4,10

If you are having problems,
God will help you.
He will give you strength.
Call on the name of Jesus.
He will come and rescue you.

(January 14, 1998 6:31 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"I am the vine,
you are the branches.
He who lives in me
and I in him,
will produce abundantly,
for apart from me
you can do nothing."
John 15:5

Are you trying to make it on your own?
Can you live without God in your life?
Why make life so difficult?
You are made by God.
How can you survive without Him?
Come and see.
Read what God has to say in the Bible .
Read a chapter a day.
Start with Mark .
Come and find life ---
abundant life.

(January 13, 1998 6:20 AM CST)

"Each one of you is a son of God
because of your faith in Christ Jesus.
All of you who have been baptized
in Christ have clothed
yourselves with him."
Galatians 3:26-27

Keep searching.
One day you will find the truth.
Please pray for all that visit here.
May they see the truth.
You are a son or daughter of the living God.
He is all goodness.
Come and see.
Have faith in Jesus.
He will save you.
Is it hard to believe?
I think it is harder to not believe.
Have faith.
You are made by God.
You will not be at peace
until you come home to Him.

(January 12, 1998 9:12 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"There is nothing to fear.
I am the First and the Last
and the One who lives.
Once I was dead but now I live ---
forever and ever.
I hold the keys of death
and the nether world."
Revelation 1:17-18

Do not fear.
Be at peace.
Jesus died for you.
You can live forever.
He holds the keys.
Go to Him today.
Ask Him to forgive your sins.
Forgive all those around you.
Trust in the Lord Jesus.
Give your life to Him.

I am home sick today.
Please, say a prayer for me. Thanks.

(January 11, 1998 7:24 PM CST)

Jesus said,
"The reign of God may be likened to
a king who gave a wedding banquet for
his son. He dispatched his servants to
summon the invited guests to the wedding,
but they refused to come. A second time
he sent other servants, saying:
'Tell those who were invited. See, I have
my dinner prepared! My bullocks and corn-fed
cattle are killed; everything is ready.
Come to the feast. Some ignored the invitation
and went their way, one to his farm, another
to his business.'"
Matthew 22:2-5

The Lord invites you.
Do you go your way?
Do you come and receive?
It is a free gift.
Come to the feast.
Everything is ready.
What are you waiting for?
Come to Jesus.
Open up your heart.

(January 10, 1998 6:34 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"You are the light of the world.
A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Men do not light a lamp and then
put it under a bushel basket.
They set it on a stand where
it gives light to all in the house.
In the same way, your light must
shine before men so that they may
see goodness in your acts and give
praise to your heavenly Father."
Matthew 5:14-16

If the world seems dark,
it is because you are not letting
your light shine.
Do you live as Jesus would live?
Give praise to God the Father today.

(January 9, 1998 6:28 AM CST)

"We exhort you to admonish the unruly;
cheer the fainthearted;
support the weak;
be patient toward all.
See that no one returns evil
to any other; always seek one
another's good and,
for that matter, the good of all."
1 Thessalonians 5:14-15

Be aware of those around you.
Help them.
Be a servant to them.
Encourage them.
Help those that are lost.
Be patient.
Do not return evil for evil.
Be at peace with all.
Seek after good.

I encourage you to read something
from the Bible every day.
Maybe read one chapter a day
of the New Testament.
Start with Matthew .
You need the Word of God in your life.

(January 8, 1998 6:27 AM CST)

"The grace of God has appeared,
offering salvation to all men.
It trains us to reject godless ways
and worldly desires, and live temperately,
justly, and devoutly in this age
as we await our blessed hope,
the appearing of the glory of the great
God and of our Savior Christ Jesus.
It was he who sacrificed himself for us,
to redeem us from all unrighteousness and
to cleanse for himself a people of his own,
eager to do what is right."
Titus 2:11-14

Receive this grace from God above.
It is yours.
It is free.
Reject the ways of the world.
Be blessed.
Thank Jesus for redeeming us.
Be cleansed.
Do what is right.
Watch for the glory of God.

(January 7, 1998 6:32 AM CST)

"Bless the Lord, O my soul;
and all my being,
bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits;
He pardons all your iniquities,
he heals all your ills.
He redeems your life from destruction,
he crowns you with kindness and compassion,
He fills your lifetime with good;
your youth is renewed like the eagle's."
Psalms 103:1-5

Give praise to God today.
Bless his name.
Praised be the holy name of Jesus.
He has saved you from destruction and death.
Receive the goodness of the Lord.
Be renewed.
Soar like the eagle .

(January 6, 1998 6:28 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"What do you think of this case?
There was a man who had two sons.
He approached the elder and said,
'Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.'
The son replied, 'I am on my way, sir';
but he never went. Then the man came
to his second son and said the same thing.
This son said in reply, 'No, I will not';
but afterward he regretted it and went.
Which of the two did what the father wanted?"
Matthew 21:28-31

Do you say 'Yes' or 'No' to the Lord?
Do you live for the Lord?
The Lord asks many things of you.
What will you do?
You are called.
You are sent.
Are you on your way?

(January 5, 1998 6:25 AM CST)

Happy Birthday Joe!
God bless you.

"May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of glory,
grant you a spirit of wisdom and
insight to know him clearly.
May he enlighten your innermost vision
that you may know the great hope
to which he has called you,
the wealth of his glorious heritage
to be distributed among the members
of the church, and the immeasurable
scope of his power in us who believe."
Ephesians 1:17-19

Receive power from the Lord.
Receive wisdom and hope.
May the Lord enlighten you.
May you know Jesus more clearly today.
Be transformed.
Be a new creation.
Be a witness.
Live with this power from God.
Take time today to dwell on
who Jesus is.
He is wonderful.

(January 4, 1998 6:49 AM CST)

"In the days when Jesus was in the flesh,
he offered prayers and supplications
with loud cries and tears to God,
who was able to save him from death,
and he was heard because of his reverence.
Son though he was, he learned obedience
from what he suffered; and when perfected,
he became the source of eternal salvation
for all who obey him, designated by God
as high priest according to the
order of Melchizedek."
Hebrews 5:7-10

We cry out to the Lord today.
Lord, save us!
Help us.
Comfort us.
Deliver us.
Jesus suffered for us.
He set us an example.
He prayed.
He obeyed the will of God.
He is our source of eternal life.
Call on him today.

Please, pray for Katie.
She is in the hospital. Thanks.

"In Christ and through faith in him
we can speak freely to God,
drawing near him with confidence."
Ephesians 3:12

(January 3, 1998 8:29 AM CST)

"Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done wondrous deeds;
His right hand has won victory for him,
his holy arm.
The Lord has made his salvation known;
in the sight of the nations
he has revealed his justice.
He has remembered his kindness and his
faithfulness toward the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation by our God."
Psalms 98:1-3

Yes, it is time to sing a new song.
We need to be constantly changing.
We should move closer and closer to
Jesus every day.
Be renewed.
Open your eyes and see the
wonders that the Lord has done.
The Lord is kind.
The Lord is faithful.

(January 2, 1998 6:27 AM CST)

"God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him may not die
but may have eternal life.
God did not send the Son into the world
to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved
through him."
John 3:16-17

God loves you.
God loves you very much.
He sent is Son to die for you.
You can have eternal life.
It is a free gift.
Yes, God loves you very much!
Receive this gift.
It is yours for the asking.

(January 1, 1998 6:33 AM CST)

Happy New Year!
Happy Birthday, Patty!
God bless you today.

"' Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts!'
they cried one to the other.
'All the earth is filled with his glory!'
At the sound of that cry,
the frame of the door shook
and the house was filled with smoke."
Isaiah 6:3-4

God alone is holy.
He is perfect.
Let us try to be holy.
Let us give glory to Jesus today.
Let us praise him.
Let us pray.
Start the new year right.
Ask Jesus to forgive all your sins.
He is kind and merciful.
