July 1 to 31, 1998

Feel God's love
Move mountains

Pray

Know your goal

Share love

See the light

(July 31, 1998 5:57 AM CDT)

"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord,
who has strengthened me,
that he has made me his servant
and judged me faithful.
I was once a blasphemer, a persecutor,
a man filled with arrogance;
but because I did not know
what I was doing in my unbelief,
I have been treated mercifully,
and the grace of our Lord has been
granted me in overflowing measure,
along with the faith and love
which are in Christ Jesus."
1 Timothy 1:12-14

It is Jesus who gives you strength.
He is the source.
Do away with your arrogance.
He is the one who helps you.
Be faithful.
Receive grace.
It is overflowing.
Love.
Receive mercy.
Give.

(July 30, 1998 5:45 PM CDT)

I made it back home today.
Thanks for the prayers.

(July 26, 1998 6:29 AM CDT)

It has been raining overnight here.
The sunrise looks awesome.
It is another beautiful day with
the Lord Jesus at my side.
Today I am driving to Denver, Colorado .
It is about 550 miles (887K) away.
I love to see the Rocky Mountains .
Pray that I have a safe trip.
I don't know if I will be able to
continue writing this.
I don't have a laptop computer.
Maybe the Holiday Inn will have one.
So if you don't see anything change...

"Jesus told her:
'I am the resurrection and the life:
whoever believes in me,
though he should die,
will come to life;
and whoever is alive and believes in me
will never die.'"
John 11:25-26

Someday we will all take a trip.
Our life will end.
We will go to meet Jesus.
Will he say to you:
"Well done good and faithful servant"
or
"Who are you?
I don't know you."
Come.
Prepare yourself.
Be ready.

(July 25, 1998 6:12 AM CDT)

Promise Keepers is on the radio today
from Indianapolis, IN .
In Omaha it is on 100.7 KGBI .
It might also be on WMBI Radio .
I'm not sure.
Yes, they are!
I just tried it at 8:35 AM CDT.

Jesus quoted Isaiah the prophet:
"A people living in darkness has
seen a great light.
On those who inhabit a land
overshadowed by death,
light has arisen."
From that time on Jesus began
to proclaim this theme:
"Reform your lives!
The kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Matthew 4:16-17

Jesus wants you to change your life.
The time is at hand.
Are you going to do it?
We live in a culture of death.
We are surrounded by violence,
but there is hope.
There is light.
Jesus is that hope.
Change.
Be renewed.
Receive light.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Bring us all home.

(July 24, 1998 6:13 AM CDT)

"They found Jesus too much for them.
His response to all this was:
'No prophet is without honor except
in his native place, among his own
kindred, and in his own house.'
He could work no miracle there,
apart from curing a few who were sick
by laying hands on them, so much did
their lack of faith distress him.
He made the rounds of the neighboring
villages instead, and spent his
time teaching."
Mark 6:3b-6

Do you have faith in Jesus?
Do you believe he can work miracles?
If not,
he will leave you.
You will be left behind.
Faith is very important.
Trust is very important.
If you doubt the Lord can help you,
you will not be helped.
He will visit your neighbors.
He will pass you by.
I pray that your faith may increase today.
I pray that Jesus will
work a miracle in your life.
May your trust grow.
Your faith is like a little seed,
that will grow to a huge tree.
Plant the seeds of faith.
Trust Jesus.

(July 23, 1998 6:16 AM CDT)

"But as for me,
I will look to the Lord,
I will put my trust in God my savior;
my God will hear me!"
Micah 7:7

Who do you trust?
Anyone?
Do you even trust yourself?
Trust in the Lord Jesus.
He is the only one.
He is living.
He is true.
He is holy.
He is all that you will ever need.

(July 22, 1998 6:16 AM CDT)

"At this, the dispute grew worse and
the commander feared they would tear
Paul to pieces. He therefore ordered
his troops to go down and rescue Paul
from their midst and take him back to
headquarters. That night the Lord
appeared at Paul's side and said:
'Keep up your courage!
Just as you have given testimony to me
here in Jerusalem, so must you
do in Rome.'"
Acts 23:10-11

Have courage.
Be strong.
The Lord will be at your side.
Be a witness.
Lord has big plans for you.
Stand up against the crowd.
Yes, it is risky.
You could get hurt,
but the Lord will rescue you.
He will send his angels.
You will not be given a bigger task
than you can handle.
The Lord be with you, my friend.
Call on his name.
Jesus, be with me today.

(July 21, 1998 6:08 AM CDT)

"God is our refuge and our strength,
an ever-present help in distress.
Therefore we fear not,
though the earth be shaken
and mountains plunge into the
depths of the sea;
Though its waters rage and foam
and the mountains quake at its surging.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
our stronghold is the God of Jacob."
Psalms 46:1-4

Lord, we call out to you today.
Help us.
We are lost.
We are confused.
You are our refuge from the chaos.
You are our shelter in this storm.
Save us, Lord.

(July 20, 1998 6:15 AM CDT)

"Be imitators of God as his dear children.
Follow the way of love,
even as Christ loved you.
He gave himself for us
as an offering to God,
a gift of pleasing fragrance.
As for lewd conduct or promiscuousness
or lust of any sort, let them not even
be mentioned among you;
your holiness forbids this."
Ephesians 5:1-3

Be a person of love.
Imitate Jesus.
Be like him.
Seek out the lost.
Heal the sick.
Help the poor.
Jesus gave all that he had
for you.
Be holy.
Do you watch the TV programs
that constantly refer to sex?
This is the way of the world.
You are not to live this way.
Seek to do what God wants.
Pray for Monica Lewinsky .
Pray for our country.
Lord have mercy on us.
We are lost.
We are confused.
We need help.
Sin will destroy you.
If your life is filled with chaos,
you are not following the Lord.
There is a path that seems right...

(July 19, 1998 6:42 AM CDT)

This morning I'm listening to WMBI Radio
in Chicago .
It is a Christian radio station.

Jesus said to him,
"You know the commandments:
'You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not kill.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear dishonest witness.
Honor your father and your mother.'"
Luke 18:20

Do you follow the commandments?
Do you know the 10 Commandments ?
Jesus said you should know them.
You should follow them.
Check it out.

(July 18, 1998 6:17 AM CDT)

The 17-inch monitor arrived in
LOUISVILLE, KY US at 5:28 AM today.
Are you tracking it?

Yesterday I watched a baseball game at
60th and Center at 6 PM. My nephew
Jacob who is 10 years old was playing.
It was very hot (93 F Degrees, 35 C Degrees)
with lots of humidity.
It was the finals for the league.
It was a very close game and the
teams kept trading the lead.
In the end...
their team lost.
It was sad.
You wanted to cry.
The other team was jumping for joy
and Jacob's team was instantly depressed.
It was quiet on our side of the field.
Too quiet.
Just devastating.
It broke your heart.
The kids were looking down at the dirt.
What could you say?
Well, smile?
What?
It was an interesting moment.

The thing is...
if you believe in Jesus ---
you are on the winning team.
We win!
You can jump for joy!
Rejoice!

"We know that God
makes all things work together
for the good of those who love God
and are called according to his decree."
Romans 8:28

It may look like we are down,
but we get right back up.
We may look defeated,
but we will triumph.
We look beat,
but we will win.
The Lord Jesus is your strength.
He is your victory.
You win.

(July 17, 1998 5:42 AM CDT)

Yesterday I shipped my old 17-inch monitor
back to Gateway 2000 .
You can track it in UPS
with number "1Z 92W 397 06 5427 066 5".
At last report it was in "KIRKSVILLE, MO US".
as of 4:18 AM this morning.
It is going to Louisville, Kentucky
to be repaired.

The last two days I have lost money in
the Stock Market. It is not that easy
to figure it out, but it is interesting
to watch. I did buy
Apple Computer (AAPL)
yesterday,
but I got in too late at 37 13/16.
I knew it was going to go up, but
I did not buy it at the right moment.

"Trust in the Lord and do good,
that you may dwell in the land and
enjoy security.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will grant you your heart's requests.
Commit to the Lord your way;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will make justice dawn for you like
the light;
bright as the noonday shall be
your vindication.
Leave it to the Lord,
and wait for him;
Be not vexed at the successful path
of the man who does malicious deeds."
Psalms 37:3-7

If you are with the Lord,
he will guide your desires.
He will plant ideas in your mind.
He will lead you.
If you want to help the poor,
it is because the Lord is prompting you.
Listen to him.
Pray to him.
Trust in him.
Leave it to the Lord.
See the sun ---
how bright it is!
May the Lord Jesus light your way
today and every day.
Hey, I'm praying for you.
Cool.
Your life should be changing.
Yes.
Receive the blessings from the Lord.
Yes, you.
What is your request?
Is it what the Lord wants?
Is it what you want?
If they agree,
you are walking with the Lord.

(July 16, 1998 6:08 AM CDT)

"This means that you are strangers
and aliens no longer. No, you are
fellow citizens of the saints and
members of the household of God.
You form a building which rises on
the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, with Christ Jesus himself
as the capstone. Through him the
whole structure is fitted together
and takes shape as a holy temple in
the Lord; in him you are being built
into this temple, to become a dwelling
place for God in the Spirit."
Ephesians 2:19-22

Jesus is our rock.
The church is built on him.
We are part of the structure.
Do you make it beautiful?
Are you a stained glass window?
Are you a bright shining light?
Are you a step to build others up?
Without Jesus there is no building.
It is hopeless.
With Jesus there are spires
that reach to the heavens.
Does Jesus dwell in you?
Are you one with him?
Open the door.
Be the door.
Let him in.
Do you feel the vibrations
of a large truck going by?
Yes, it shakes the whole structure,
but Jesus is holding it together.
Get in.
Be a part of the scene.
Don't watch from outside.
Be the Welcome mat.
Step in.

(July 15, 1998 5:53 AM CDT)

Good morning!
It is raining this morning in Omaha .
Yesterday I received a new 19-inch
monitor for my PC. I was having
problems with it going blank after
using it for 30 minutes. Then shut
it off for an hour and then use it
again. So thanks for the prayers.
I had a 17-inch monitor, so I will
check with them to see if I
owe them any money for the larger
monitor.
And I made a few more dollars in
the Stock Market yesterday.
I did a buy/sell 54/56 on
Double Click (DCLK)
.
I'm looking into sending the money to
the Sudan to help the starving people
there.

Jesus said:
"The king will say to those on
his right:
'Come.
You have my Father's blessing!
Inherit the kingdom prepared for you
from the creation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me food.
I was thirsty and you gave me drink.
I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
naked and you clothed me. I was ill
and you comforted me, in prison and
you came to visit me.'"
Matthew 25:34-36

Come.
Be a servant.
Humble yourself.
Help others.
Be of service.
Expect nothing in return.
Do it for the Lord Jesus.
Love your neighbor.
Share.
Just do it.

(July 14, 1998 5:56 AM CDT)

This one of my favorite Psalms:

"The plan of the Lord stands forever;
the design of his heart,
through all generations.
Happy the nation whose
God is the Lord,
the people he has chosen
for his own inheritance."
Psalms 33:11-12

The Lord has a plan.
He has a plan for you.
You are part of the plan.
Will you participate?
Will you join in?
He is the Lord of the universe
and he is inviting you.
You are a child.
You can inherit many things.
He reaches out to you.
He says, 'I love you.'
Will you respond?
Will you turn away?
Jesus offers you eternal life.
It is worth more than all
the money in the world.
Will you accept this gift?
Don't turn it down.
Please.
How can I say this?
He loves you
inside out and
upside down and
around and around.
How about that?
He is awesome.
Be a part of the plan.

(July 13, 1998 5:52 AM CDT)

"For this command which I enjoin on you
today is not too mysterious and remote
for you. It is not up in the sky, that
you should say, 'Who will go up in the
sky to get it for us and tell us of it,
that we may carry it out?' Nor is it
across the sea, that you should say,
'Who will cross the sea to get it for
us and tell us of it, that we may carry
it out?' No, it is something very near
to you, already in your mouths and in
your hearts; you have only to
carry it out."
Deuteronomy 30:11-14

Jesus is very close to you.
He is with you today.
He is alive.
Welcome him into your heart today.
Make him a part of your day.
He will walk with you.
He is down to earth.
He will meet you at ground level.
He is right where you are at.
Take one step today.
Carry it out.
Jesus, come into my heart.
I welcome you in today.
Be part of everything I do.
Be my guide.
I trust in you.
Forgive me, Lord, for I have sinned.
Give me a new heart.

(July 12, 1998 5:59 AM CDT)

"It is this same disciple who is the
witness to these things; it is
he who wrote them down and his
testimony, we know, is true. There
are still many other things that
Jesus did, yet if they were written
about in detail, I doubt there would
be room enough in the entire world
to hold the books to record them."
John 21:24-25

Jesus touched many lives.
He walked the earth for 33 years.
He healed the sick.
He forgave sins.
He preached good news.
He was concerned for the poor.
He is still alive today touching people.
The "books" continue to be written.
Jesus still heals the sick.
He has many witnesses.
Their lives have been changed.
They are renewed.
They receive new life.
Every day they call on his name.
He is their friend.
He is has saved them.
He is their Lord.
He is God eternal.
It is time for you to
turn the page.
Write something new.

(July 11, 1998 6:22 AM CDT)

This morning I received an email from
someone that the Unofficial site for KCRO
was gone.
So I deleted it.
Thanks!

Yesterday I made a few dollars with
buying/selling (35/38) an Omaha company
named Ameritrade ( Symbol AMTD ).
It went up 8%.
God is so good to me.
That is more money to help others.
All good gifts come from
heaven above.
The gift you have been given
give as a gift.

Lately I've been thinking about
putting a full page advertisement
in our local newspaper.
So pray for me to do
what God wants.
Thanks!

I could say something like:

THE END IS NEAR!

(Would be the big headline.)
Sometime in the next hundred years
the world as you know it will end.
You will die.
Your world will end.
The end is near.
So what are you going to do about it?
Are you going to have a party and
live it up for the rest of your life?
Are you going to prepare to die?
Do you even think about it?
What DO you thing?

(July 10, 1998 6:12 AM CDT)

"Happy they who dwell in your house!
continually they praise you.
Happy the men whose strength you are!
their hearts are set upon the pilgrimage:
When they pass through the valley of the
mastic trees, they make a spring of it;
the early rain clothes it with generous
growth.
They go from strength to strength;
they shall see the God of gods in Zion."
Psalms 84:5-8

Be with the Lord.
Dwell with him.
Be at peace.
He is strength upon strength.
Trust in him.
Be prepared for the journey.
You need the Lord Jesus.
He will be with you.
Do you see the trees?
Can you feel the rain?
Grow with the Lord.
He will guide you.
It is springtime.
Time to spring.

(July 9, 1998 6:04 AM CDT)

Jesus said:
"Lose no time;
settle with your opponent while on
your way to court with him.
Otherwise your opponent
may hand you over to the judge,
who will hand you over to the guard,
who will throw you into prison.
I warn you,
you will not be released
until you have paid the last penny."
Matthew 5:25-26

You may think you have all the
time in the world,
but you don't.
Your days on earth are very few.
Lose no time.
Jesus says he is giving you a warning.
Will you listen?
Will you do something?
Forgive everyone.
Yes, everyone.
You cannot live without forgiveness.
If you do not forgive,
you end up in prison.
The key is thrown away.
What do you think of that?

(July 8, 1998 6:15 AM CDT)

Jesus said:
"How blest are the poor in spirit:
the reign of God is theirs.
Blest too are the sorrowing;
they shall be consoled.
Blest are the lowly;
they shall inherit the land.
Blest are they who hunger and thirst
for holiness;
they shall have their fill.
Blest are they who show mercy;
mercy shall be theirs.
Blest are the single-hearted
for they shall see God."
Matthew 5:3-8

These are amazing words.
Jesus says you are blest ---
all you that are in sorrow.
Be consoled today with the
these comforting words.
Are you quick to forgive?
Be merciful.
Are you hungry for the
bread of life?
Share communion.
Is your mind dwelling on thoughts
about God?
Pray.
Dwell on his mysteries.
Keep it simple.
Be blest.

(July 7, 1998 6:04 AM CDT)

If you knew that a stock
was going to go up 10 or 15%
today, what would you do?
Would you sell all that you
have to buy it?
Would you "sell out"?
Most Internet stocks have been
really going up lately.
Lycos was up 25.93% yesterday.
Interesting...

"Love never fails.
Prophecies will cease,
tongues will be silent,
knowledge will pass away.
Our knowledge is imperfect and
our prophesying is imperfect.
When the perfect comes,
the imperfect will pass away.
When I was a child I used to
talk like a child,
think like a child,
reason like a child.
When I became a man
I put childish ways aside.
Now we see indistinctly,
as in a (darkened) mirror;
then we shall see
face to face.
My knowledge is imperfect now;
then I shall know
even as I am known.
There are in the end
three things that last:
faith,
hope,
and love,
and the greatest of these is love."
1 Corinthians 13:8-13

The Stock Market will fail one day.
All money will be lost,
but the love of God will never fail.
It will last for all eternity.
Yes, you may make thousands of dollars
with your stocks today,
but in the end it will not last.
It will fail you.
You will lose.
The Lord is telling you to seek
the things from above
and not of this earth.
If you do make a lot of money,
give it away.
Help those people in Florida
that lost their homes to the fires.
Seek to be perfect in the eyes
of the Lord.
One day you will see Jesus
face to face.
What will you say to him?
Put these childish ways aside.
Look in the mirror.
Share what you have.
Love God.
Love those around you.
Love is the greatest thing!
Love.

(July 6, 1998 6:07 AM CDT)

We have had lots of rain the past
few days. Pray that God sends
the rain to Florida to put out
the fires there. We are having
flash floods around Omaha .

"Love is patient;
love is kind.
Love is not jealous,
it does not put on airs,
it is not snobbish.
Love is never rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not prone to anger;
neither does it brood over injuries.
Love does not rejoice in what is wrong
but rejoices with the truth.
There is no limit to love's forbearance,
to its trust,
its hope,
its power to endure."
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Jesus, help us to live these words.
Be our guide.
Be our source of inspiration.
May we love as you did.
May we truly rejoice in the truth.
May we seek to help others.
May receive/give hope.
You endure for all ages.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Show us your way.
We trust in you.

(July 5, 1998 6:26 AM CDT)

Every morning before I write the
words here at Spring To Life
I read the following verses:

"Now I will show you the way which
surpasses all the others. If I
speak with human tongues and angelic
as well, but do not have love,
I am a noisy gong, a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and,
with full knowledge, comprehend all
mysteries, if I have faith great
enough to move mountains, but have
not love, I am nothing. If I give
everything I have to feed the poor
and hand over my body to be burned,
but have not love, I gain nothing."
1 Corinthians 13:1-3

Seek for things above.
Achieve greatness.
Do it all for the love of God.
Why are you doing what you are doing?
Move the mountains around.
Change your world.
Love as Jesus would love.
Do the will of God the Father.
Be led by the Holy Spirit.
Renew the face of the earth.
Be holy.
Be a person of prayer.
Keep your focus.
Love.

(July 4, 1998 6:20 AM CDT)

"Why should I fear in evil days when my
wicked ensnarers ring me round?
They trust in their wealth; the
abundance of their riches is their boast.
Yet in no way can a man redeem himself,
or pay his own ransom to God;
Too high is the price to redeem one's life;
he would never have enough to remain
alive always and not see destruction.
For he can see that wise men die, and
likewise the senseless and the stupid
pass away, leaving to others their wealth.
Tombs are their homes forever, their dwellings
through all generations, though they have
called lands by their names."
Psalms 49:6-12

We in the United States are very
well off.
We are rich.
What are you going to do about it?
Do you try to get as many things
as you can?
Do you boast?
Riches will trap you.
You cannot serve God and money.
Let go.
Live a simple life.
You do not need a new car or computer
every year.
Remember the poor.
They are with us always.
Remember the hurting.
Then it will be a truly
Happy 4th of July.

Back on June 23, 1998 I wrote about
a field at Boys Town that had
nothing planted. Well, I was
wrong. There is something planted
there. I can see new plants growing
now. It is like that way with
God. We are so impatient or quick
to judge, but God is very patient
and sees your potential for
greatness and goodness.
Do not judge.
It is a lesson for all of us.

(July 3, 1998 6:12 AM CDT)

"Jesus proclaimed aloud:
'Whoever puts faith in me
believes not so much in me
as in him who sent me;
and whoever looks on me
is seeing him who sent me.
I have come to the world as its light,
to keep anyone who believes in me from
remaining in the dark.
If anyone hears my words and does not
keep them, I am not the one
to condemn him, for I did not
come to condemn the world but
to save it. Whoever rejects me and
does not accept my words already
has his judge, namely, the word
I have spoken --- it is that which
will condemn him on the last day.'"
John 12:44-48

Jesus and the Father are one.
God is three persons:
Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit.
It is hard to explain.
Jesus told us this.
You must take it on faith.
Jesus was sent to us by
God the Father.
He had a mission.
He brought words of life.
He restored the sick.
He overcame sin and death.
He offers his words to you.
Do you accept them?
Take him at his word.
Do not turn away.
These are words of life.

(July 2, 1998 6:05 AM CDT)

"Timothy is our brother and God's fellow
worker in preaching the gospel of
Christ, and so we sent him to
strengthen and encourage you in regard
to your faith lest any of you be
shaken by these trials. You know well
enough that such trials are our common
lot. When we were still with you, we
used to warn you that we would undergo
trial; now it has happened, and you
know what we meant. That is why I sent
to find out about your faith when I
could stand the suspense no longer,
fearing that the tempter had put you
to the test and all our labor might
have gone for nothing."
1 Thessalonians 3:2-5

I pray for you today to be
strengthened and encouraged.
Yes, you will endure many trials
and hardships.
It will be difficult.
Know that Jesus is with you.
Know that he is the author of your faith.
You will be tested.
Will you fail?
Will you make it?
The Lord is with you.
May your faith increase today.
May it be a rally on the
street of faith.
Have no fear.
May God bless you over and over.

(July 1, 1998 6:11 AM CDT)

Yesterday I turned in my computer to
have it fixed.
It's a good thing I kept my old computer
as a backup. Pray for those working on it.

"Pilate then called together the chief priests,
the ruling class, and the people, and said
to them: 'You have brought this man before
me as one who subverts the people. I have
examined him in your presence and have
no charge against him arising from your
allegations. Neither has Herod, who
therefore has sent him back to us; obviously
this man has done nothing that calls for
death. Therefore I mean to release
him, once I have taught him a lesson.'"
Luke 23:13-16

Jesus was innocent.
He did not deserve to die.
He was not guilty.
He was God.
He died at the hands of man.
It is hard to understand.
Why would he do this?
The only thing I can come up with
is that he loves you.
He loves you very much!
I hope that you can say
'Thank you' to him.
His thoughts are not your thoughts.
He is out of this world.
He is beyond time.
Say a prayer today.
Jesus, thank you for dying for me.
I don't understand why you love me.
Help me to understand somehow.
Help me to see.
