November 1 to 30, 1998

Praise the Lord
Seek his face

Worship Jesus

Get up

You are sent

Move

(November 30, 1998 6:02 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"I have come to the world as its light,
to keep anyone who believes in me from
remaining in the dark.
If anyone hears my words
and does not keep them,
I am not the one to condemn him,
for I did not come to condemn the
world but to save it.
Whoever rejects me and does not
accept my words already has his judge,
namely, the word I have spoken ---
it is that which will condemn
him on the last day."
John 12:46-48

Jesus is the light of the world.
We are all in darkness.
We need a lighthouse to
save us from the rough waves.
As we begin Advent season,
let us keep our eyes focused
on the lighthouse.
Jesus is our beacon of hope.
He will save us from destruction.
Read his words in the Bible.
Seek him.
In fact, Jesus is the only light.
The world has grown so dark.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Come save us.

(November 29, 1998 7:27 AM CST)

"The fool says in his heart,
'There is no God.'
Such are corrupt;
they do abominable deeds;
there is not one who does good.
The Lord looks down from heaven
upon the children of men,
to see if there be one who is wise
and seeks God.
All alike have gone astray;
they have become perverse;
there is not one who does good,
not even one."
Psalms 14:1-3

Lord, have mercy on our souls.
We have all sinned.
We have all gone astray.
Forgive us, Lord.
Forgive our many sins.
Grant us peace.
Give us new hope.
Show us the correct path.
Lead us.
Guide us.
We look to you, Lord Jesus.
Save us from our sins.

(November 28, 1998 7:23 AM CST)

It is a foggy morning today.
We did set a record high yesterday
of 67F degrees (19C).
It is beautiful weather for Nebraska
in late November.

"How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts!
My soul yearns and pines
for the courts of the Lord.
My heart and my flesh
cry out for the living God.
Even the sparrow finds a home,
and the swallow a nest
in which she puts her young ---
Your altars, O Lord of hosts,
my king and my God!"
Psalms 84:1-4

We long to live in your house, O Lord.
We wish to be with you forever in heaven.
Shelter us, O Lord, from the storm.
Help my soul find rest.
Bring us home.
Give us comfort.
Give us protection.
You are our shield.
You are our safety.
We praise you, Lord.
Give us peace.
Increase our faith.
Increase our hope.
We trust in you.

(November 27, 1998 7:41 AM CST)

Today they say we will set a record high
of 70F degrees (21C) here in Omaha .
A lot of people are on vacation today,
so take a few minutes and pray.
Remember the Lord with this extra time.
Praise the Lord as you are waiting
in the long shopping lines.

"Because you have the Lord for your refuge;
you have made the Most High your stronghold.
No evil shall befall you, nor shall
affliction come near your tent.
For to his angels he has given command
about you, that they guard you
in all your ways.
Upon their hands they shall bear you up,
lest you dash your foot against a stone."
Psalms 91:9-12

The Lord will protect you.
You will not be tempted without
the Lord providing a way out.
He will guard you.
His angels are watching over you.
You are special.
You are chosen.
He wants you to be perfect.
He wants you to be like him.
Live in him.
Follow his ways.

(November 26, 1998 6:35 AM CST)

Happy Thanksgiving!
Do your homework.
Write down the things
you are thankful for.

"But the gift is not like the offense.
For if by the offense of the one
man all died, much more did the
grace of God and the gracious gift
of the one man, Jesus Christ,
abound for all."
Romans 5:15

Adam sinned.
He fell.
Sin entered the world.
He was one man.
Things were broke.
Something needed to be done.
Jesus was sent.
He came down from heaven.
Love entered the world.
Things were set right.
He overcame evil.
The gift was sent.
Jesus is the gift.
Receive him today.
He is for all.
Thank you, Jesus,
for coming to this earth
to save us.

(November 25, 1998 6:05 AM CST)

Yes, I set my alarm clock.
That does help to get up on time.

Pray for Sara today and her family.
Her son, Daniel, died a few days ago.
I went to the wake last night.

"See to it, then,
that you put an end to lying;
let everyone speak the
truth to his neighbor,
for we are members of one another."
Ephesians 4:25

The truth is very important.
Speak the truth.
Do not tell a lie.
Don't say anything,
if you have to lie about it.
There is a time to speak and
a time to keep your mouth shut.
Hopefully when you speak it is
something positive.
Give compliments.
Speak encouragement.
Use your mouth to speak of
God's blessings in your life.
Say prayers of thanks.
Give praise to God.

(November 24, 1998 8:01 AM CST)

Sorry,
I forgot to set my alarm clock last night.
You better pray for me.
Thanks.

(November 23, 1998 6:08 AM CST)

"As my vision continued,
I heard the voices of many angels
who surrounded the throne and
and the living creatures and the
elders. They were countless in
number, thousands and tens of thousands,
and they all cried out:
'Worthy is the Lamb that was slain
to receive power and riches,
wisdom and strength, honor
and glory and praise!'"
Revelation 5:11-12

Jesus is the Lamb.
He is the Lamb of God.
He died.
He suffered for us.
He took our place.
All sins were cast upon him
and he died in our place.
Is this fair?
Is this justice?
One person saved us all?
He is the one.
There is no other.
Thank you, Jesus.
You are the Lamb of God.
All glory and praise to you!
All honor to you.

(November 22, 1998 7:08 AM CST)

Happy Birthday, Nick!
God bless you.

"We always give thanks to God,
the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
in our prayers for you, because we have
heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and
the love you bear toward all the saints ---
moved as you are by the hope held in store
for you in heaven."
Colossians 1:3-4

Let this be a week of thanksgiving.
In the USA we celebrate Thanksgiving
on Thursday, November 26th, this year.
I'm giving you homework this week.
(How many web sites give you homework?)
Get out a piece of paper and list the
things you are thankful for.
The first line should say:
"Thank you Lord for:".
You fill in the rest.
Keep adding to it all week long.
You can thank the Lord for your family,
friends, neighbors, teachers, pastors,
leaders, etc.
Thank the Lord for where you live
and food to eat.
For a car, subway or bus to get around.
For where you go to school and all
your friends there.
For your Mom and Dad that watch over you.
For your grandparents, aunts, uncles.
For your husband or wife and children.
For your job and people you work with.
For the beautiful sunrise this morning.
There's some ideas to get you started.
Now do your homework.
It is due one week from today.

(November 21, 1998 7:43 AM CST)

"Continue, therefore, to live in Christ
Jesus the Lord, in the spirit in
which you received him.
Be rooted in him and built up in him,
growing ever stronger in faith,
as you were taught, and overflowing
with gratitude. See to it that no one
deceives you through any empty,
seductive philosophy that follows
mere human traditions, a philosophy
based on cosmic powers rather
than on Christ."
Colossians 2:6-8

You are not to read horoscopes.
Did you know that?
People will ask me
what sign I am.
What?
Sounds like "cosmic powers" to me.
Do you get direction for your life
from the horoscopes in the newspaper
or the Bible?
Danger, Danger (Will Robinson) .
Get your direction from Christ.
Be part of him.
Grow with him.
Be taught by him.
Flow with him.
See the truth.
Do not be deceived.

(November 20, 1998 6:10 AM CST)

God loves you!

"This is the word of the Lord
that came to Jonah, son of Amittai:
'Set out for the great city of Nineveh,
and preach against it; their wickedness
has come up before me.' But Jonah made
ready to flee to Tarshish away from the
Lord. He went down to Joppa, found a
ship going to Tarshish, paid the fare,
and went aboard to journey with them to
Tarshish, away from the Lord."
Jonah 1:1-3

It's right there.
That is our problem.
The Lord asks us to do something
and we run the other way.
I ask you to be faithful.
The Lord is calling you.
He wants you to talk to others.
Tell them today:
God loves you!
Don't run the other way.
Disaster will fall upon you.
Turn around.
Return to the Lord with all your heart.
Go where you are sent.

(November 19, 1998 6:11 AM CST)

"May he enlighten your innermost vision
that you may know the great hope to
which he has called you, the wealth
of his glorious heritage to be distributed
among the members of the church,
and the immeasurable scope of his power
in us who believe."
Ephesians 1:18-19

Do you have the vision?
Do you know the plan?
Where are you going?
What are you trying to accomplish?
Jesus gives the vision.
He gives the insights.
He knows the plan.
He has the power to make
it all happen.
Go to him in prayer.
Ask him:
Jesus, what is your plan for my life?
What do you ask of me today?
He will lead you.
He is the head of the church.
I'm not talking about a building ---
I'm talking about you and me.
We are the members.
Jesus is our leader.
Let us follow him.

(November 18, 1998 6:02 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"Full authority has been given to me
both in heaven and on earth;
go therefore, and make disciples of
all the nations.
Baptize them in the name
of the Father;
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Teach them to carry out everything
I have commanded you.
And know that I am with you always,
until the end of the world!"
Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus is the author.
He wrote the book.
He has all authority.
He is in charge of everything.
He said to baptize.
Do you do this?
Do you follow his commands?
Do you carry out everything?
Do you believe in the Trinity:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit?
Jesus is with you always.
He will never leave you.
He has promised.
He is with you.
Trust him.
Yes, the world will end one day,
but Jesus is with you today.
He will help you through this day.
Live today.
Call on the Holy Trinity.
These are his commands.
These are your commands.

(November 17, 1998 6:07 AM CST)

"The women hurried away from the tomb
half-overjoyed, half-fearful, and
ran to carry the good news to his
disciples.
Suddenly, without warning,
Jesus stood before them and said,
'Peace!'
The women came up and embraced his
feet and did him homage.
At this Jesus said to them,
'Do not be afraid!
Go and carry the news to my brothers
that they are to go to Galilee,
where they will see me.'"
Matthew 28:8-10

Are you fearful?
Are you joyful?
Do you have any feelings?
Jesus suddenly has appeared in your life.
What are you going to do?
You can't run and hide.
He is right there.
You must face him.
Do you bow down and embrace him?
Do you admit he is God?
He is the one.
He says: do not be afraid.
He will embrace you.
Then go and tell someone else the news.
Jesus is alive.
He is real.
He has touched your life.
You have been changed.
You have been moved.

On Sunday, November 15, I was at
DeSoto Bend National Wildlife Refuge .
It is about 25 miles north of Omaha.
There were thousands of snow geese in
this field by the lake. There were few
if any geese on the lake. At about
5:30 PM all the geese took off. It was
like a snowstorm. The geese flew
around in huge groups and headed for
the lake about a quarter mile away.
They made a loud squawking sound as
they all took off and flew around.
It was something to see and hear.
It was getting dark, so you could not
see that well. The geese flew back and
forth over the lake and gradually landed
on the water.

(November 16, 1998 6:08 AM CST)

"After the sabbath, as the first day
of the week was dawning.
Mary Magdalene came with the other
Mary to inspect the tomb.
Suddenly there was a mighty earthquake,
as the angel of the Lord descended from
heaven. He came to the stone, rolled
it back, and sat on it. In appearance
he resembled a flash of lightning
while his garments were as dazzling
as snow."
Matthew 28:1-3

Sometimes the earth moves.
The ground shakes and houses fall
and buildings crumble.
The dirt on which you walk
can move.
An angel came down to earth.
The stone in front of the tomb
was rolled away.
It was Jesus' tomb.
The women were shaken.
They were sad.
They had lost a friend.
They were lost.
The ground had moved from under them.
Their life was turned upside down.
The lightning flashes and
things change even more.
Sadness changes to wonder.
There is confusion.
What is going on?
Few of us have ever seen an angel.
It must be a magnificent sight.
Angels are messengers.
This angel brought good news.
Jesus was not in the tomb.
He had risen from the dead.
He was alive.
Can you believe what you hear?
No one witnessed the resurrection.
It takes faith.
Do you believe the angel?
Do you believe in earthquakes?
Do you believe the good news?

(November 15, 1998 8:19 AM CST)

"O God, with your judgment endow the king,
and with your justice, the king's son;
He shall govern your people with justice
and your afflicted ones with judgment.
The mountains shall yield peace for the
people, and the hills justice.
He shall defend the afflicted among the
people, save the children of the poor,
and crush the oppressor."
Psalms 72:1-4

Jesus is King.
He governs his people.
He is ruler.
He will bring peace and justice
to you and your family.
Let heaven and earth rejoice.
He will save the children.
He will crush the evil one.
He is king.
He is all power.
We praise and thank him today.
He is Lord.
He is our Savior.
Thank you, Jesus.
All honor to you!

(November 14, 1998 7:41 AM CST)

"When they had crucified Jesus,
they divided his clothes
among them by casting lots;
then they sat down there and kept
watch over him.
Above his head they had put the
charge against him in writing:
'This is Jesus,
King of the Jews.'
Two insurgents were crucified along
with him, one at his right and
one at his left. People going by
kept insulting him, tossing their heads
and saying: 'So you are the one
who was going to destroy the temple
and rebuild it in three days!
Save yourself, why don't you?
Come down off that cross,
if you are God's Son!'"
Matthew 27:35-40

They took his clothes and gambled
to see who would get them.
They were his only possessions.
Strange, isn't it?
Here he was dying and
they kept insulting him.
Why?
Why would they do this?
Isn't a death sentence enough?
Two others died with him that day.
They deserved it and
he was innocent.
It was a very sad day
for the world.
Here was the King of Kings
and they were mocking him.
He made the universe and his creatures
were putting him to death.
How ironic.
I mean, are we that evil?
Are we that stupid?
We need help.
We need lots of help.
Love comes into the world
and we kill it.
It is scary.
It is sad.
What is this world coming to?
Is there any hope for us?
Yes.
Yes, as hopeless as we seem
there is hope.
His name is Jesus.
Jesus is our hope.
He is our only hope.

(November 13, 1998 6:08 AM CST)

"While Pilate was still presiding on the bench,
his wife sent him a message:
'Do not interfere in the case of that
holy man. I had a dream about him today
which has greatly upset me.'"
Matthew 27:19

Sometimes the Lord uses other people
to warn us not to do something evil.
People will tell us:
Don't do that!
They sing to you:
You'll be sorry!
Maybe you are on your way to
rob a bank and your car will
not start.
God is telling you not to do this.
The Lord will give you a way out.
He does not want you to fall.
He gives you extra time to think
about what you are planning.
Will you take God's extra time
and decide not to do it?
I hear people say:
count to 10 slowly before you say
anything when you are really upset.
Give yourself a chance to do
what is right.
Do not ignore God and
his ways.
He has warned you.
He has given you a "second chance"
before you even need it.
Use that extra time.

(November 12, 1998 6:08 AM CST)

"Then Judas, who had handed him over,
seeing that Jesus had been condemned,
began to regret his action deeply.
He took the thirty pieces of silver
back to the chief priests and elders
and said, "I did wrong to deliver up
an innocent man!' they retorted,
'What is that to us? It is your affair!'
So Judas flung the money into the temple
and left. He went off and hanged himself."
Matthew 27:3-5

Did it have to end this way?
Judas betrayed Jesus.
Judas was paid for this evil deed.
And yet...
he could have been forgiven.
He knew what he did was wrong.
He had only to ask Jesus for forgiveness.
It could have happened.
Maybe you are like Judas.
You think that you have done such evil
things that the Lord will never forgive you.
Wrong.
Ask.
Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive you.
The Lord is kind and merciful.
He will give you peace.
He will give you hope.
He will give you something to live for.
Each day he will be your strength.
Just ask.

(November 11, 1998 6:08 AM CST)

Yes, a tree did blow down at the
south end of my street yesterday.
It was a windy day.

Last night I was asked to do some of
the readings from the Scriptures.
I read from Wisdom, Psalms 103
and Romans.

"The souls of the just are in
the hand of God,
and no torment shall touch them."
Wisdom 3:1

"For he knows how we are formed;
he remembers that we are dust.
Man's days are like those of grass;
like a flower of the field he blooms;
The wind sweeps over him and he is gone,
and his place knows him no more."
Psalms 103:14-16

"Through baptism into his death
we were buried with him, so that,
just as Christ was raised from the dead
by the glory of the Father,
we too might live a new life.
...
We know that Christ,
once raised from the dead,
will never die again;
death has no more power over him."
Romans 6:4,9

Death is not to be feared.
Christ has overcome death.
He is the resurrection.
He is life.
Life is not ended ---
it is changed.
It is transformed.

(November 10, 1998 6:05 AM CST)

It is a windy morning.
You wonder if the trees will
blow over.
It is just above freezing.

Tonight there will be a Memorial
Mass for my sister, Joan Cantwell,
at 7 PM in Omaha
at 17 and Center.
Come and pray with us.

Jesus said,
"Put back your sword where it belongs.
Those who use the sword are sooner
or later destroyed by it.
Do you not suppose I can call
on my Father to provide at a moment's
notice more than twelve legions of angels?
But then how would the Scriptures
be fulfilled which say
it must happen this way?"
Matthew 26:52-54

Jesus understood his purpose.
He knew why he was here.
He was here to save us
from our sins.
The sword would just get in the way.
Thousands of angels could have
rescued him.
He knew the Scriptures.
He was the promised one.
They waited for hundreds of years.
The time had come.
The Scriptures would be fulfilled.
The promise would become reality.
He is the one...
there is no other.
No one else can save you.
Only Jesus can save you.

"The grace of God has appeared,
offering salvation to all men."
Titus 2:11

(November 9, 1998 6:06 AM CST)

"Then Jesus went with them
to a place called Gethsemani .
He said to his disciples,
'Stay here while I go
over there and pray.'
He took along Peter and Zebedee's
two sons, and began to experience
sorrow and distress.
Then he said to them,
'My heart is nearly broken with sorrow.
Remain here and stay awake with me.'"
Matthew 26:36-38

Jesus suffered.
He was in pain.
He took upon himself
all the sins of the world.
He prayed.
He asked his disciples to pray.
He asked them to stay with him
and stay awake.
It was dark.
It seemed that the end was near.
Jesus asks you to stay.
Remain with him.
He asks you to pray.
Are you too busy?
Spend time with Jesus each day.
Stop what you are doing
and reflect on what Jesus
has done for you.
Maybe you are distressed.
Jesus will comfort you today.
Take that time to be with him.
Stay.
Pray.

(November 8, 1998 7:15 AM CST)

"It is in Christ and through his blood
that we have been redeemed and
our sins forgiven,
so immeasurably generous
is God's favor to us.
God has given us the wisdom
to understand fully the mystery,
the plan he was pleased to decree in Christ,
to be carried out in the fullness of time:
namely, to bring all things
in the heavens and on earth into one
under Christ's headship."
Ephesians 1:7-10

We worship you, Jesus Christ.
You have redeemed us from death.
You are so generous and forgiving.
We give praise and thanks today.
You have saved us.
You have given your blood.
We are grateful.
We thank you, Lord.
We do not know what to say.
You love us.
We love you.
We give you all the glory.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ!
You are king of all creation.

(November 7, 1998 7:18 AM CST)

"During the meal Jesus took bread,
blessed it,
broke it,
and gave it to his disciples.
'Take this and eat it,' he said,
'This is my body.'
Then he took a cup,
gave thanks,
and gave it to them.
'All of you must drink from it,'
he said,
'for this is my blood,
the blood of the covenant,
to be poured out in behalf of many
for the forgiveness of sins.
I tell you,
I will not drink this fruit of the vine
from now until the day
when I drink it new
with you in my Father's reign.'"
Matthew 26:26-29

The bread is broken.
Jesus was broken and beaten.
The grapes are crushed to make wine.
Jesus was crushed and died.
The body and blood of Jesus
was offered up as a sacrifice
for the forgiveness of sins.
Holy Communion is very special.
Think about it.
Why would Jesus pick such common things?
It is because it takes faith
to see what it really is.
It is out of this world.
Can you see the infinite?
The next time you have communion at
your church pray for your
faith to increase.
Jesus, help me to see.
Help me to believe.
Thank you, for the gift of Holy Communion.

It is cold (34 F, 1 C) this morning and raining.
They say snow is coming our way later today.
I just brought in the newspaper
and it was a little wet in one spot.
The plastic must of had a hole in it.
Yes, I just checked it. There was one
hole that was about an inch (2 cm) across.
The leaves are still falling
off my 3 maple trees.
I keep raking up the leaves
and then in 2 or 3 days the yard
is covered again.
That is Autumn in Nebraska .

(November 6, 1998 6:08 AM CST)

"Now when Jesus had finished all these
discourses, he declared to his disciples,
'You know that in two days' time
it will be Passover, and
that the Son of Man is to be
handed over to be crucified.'"
Matthew 26:1-2

Jesus knew the future.
He knew he would die in Jerusalem.
He would be crucified.
And he continued.
He went there for you and me.
Why suffer?
Why die?
Why face that?
He loved you.
He loved you that much.
He knew what waited for him.
He went anyway.
He went for you and me.
He warned his disciples
of what was to happen.
He tried to prepare them.
He tried to tell them,
but they did not understand
why he had to do this.
It is hard to understand
the love of Jesus for us.
Does it make sense?
He loves us too much!
He went way beyond the limits.
He is amazing.
Thank you, Jesus, for your great love.
We don't understand.

(November 5, 1998 6:09 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory,
escorted by all the angels of heaven,
he will sit upon his royal throne,
and all the nations will be assembled
before him. Then he will separate them into
two groups, as a shepherd separates sheep
from goats. The sheep he will place on his
right hand, the goats on his left."
Matthew 25:31-33

Yes, one day Jesus will come again.
There will be angels everywhere.
It is called Judgment Day.
You will be judged.
You can't escape it.
So will you be on the right side
or the left side?
Jesus will separate the
people into two groups.
What side do you want to be on?
You better read the rest of this chapter.
You hear people say there is no hell,
and God is a God of love and
would not send anyone to hell,
but that is not what Jesus said.
"These will go off to eternal punishment
and the just to eternal life."
Matthew 25:46
You need to know the truth.
The words are right there
for you to read.
The truth is plain to see.
Trust Jesus.
He will save you.

(November 4, 1998 6:07 AM CST)

This morning I'm fasting for 14 hours.
The doctor wants to do a blood test.
My stomach is wondering what's going on.
Say a prayer for me.
Sometimes I get faint and turn white
when I see that needle.
Thanks.

Jesus said,
"The heavens and the earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.
As for the exact day or hour,
no one knows it,
neither the angels in heaven
nor the Son,
but the Father only."
Matthew 24:35-36

The world will be gone one day.
Take a look around you.
It will all be taken away.
What will remain?
What will become of you?
Big questions for our little minds.
The words of Jesus will endure.
He is the way,
the truth and
the life.
Will you trust him?
Will you trust him with your life?
Do you trust anyone?
Who can you trust?
Yes, there will be an end of the world.
It will happen.
Yes, there will be an end of your life.
My sister is gone.
I don't want to think about it.
She is gone.
I miss her.
I can't call her on the phone.
I won't see her this Christmas.
Time is short.
Life passes very quickly.
Be prepared.
The Lord could call you home today.
Are you ready?
Who wants to talk about death?
I sure don't.
Who wants to think about it?
It hurts way too much.
I've cried enough tears.
I don't know what to say.
The only thing that comes to mind is:
Trust Jesus.

Happy Birthday, Jacob.
God bless you.

Jesus said,
"Indeed, you will be hated by all
nations on my account. Many will falter
then, betraying and hating one another.
False prophets will rise in great
numbers to mislead many.
Because of the increase of evil,
the love of most will grow cold.
The man who holds out to the end,
however, is the one who will see salvation."
Matthew 24:10-13

If you follow Jesus,
you will not be liked.
You will not be popular.
You could fall away.
You could get lost.
Jesus says to hold on.
Hold on to him.
Do not listen to the many
evil voices.
Listen to Jesus.
Has your love gone cold?
Turn to Jesus.
He is love.
Seek him daily.
Jesus, be with me.
Help me to hold on to you.
Help me to listen to you.
Save me.
Be with me.
Guide me.
Give me the strength I need today.
Help me to hold on tight
and not let go.

And what did the doctor say yesterday?
He wants me to take some aspirin
(81 mg) once each day.
I need a blood test taken after
fasting for 14 hours someday soon.
He did not say I had any medical problems
that he discovered in his examination.

Jesus said,
"Avoid being called teachers.
Only one is your teacher,
the Messiah.
The greatest among you will be
the one who serves the rest.
Whoever exalts himself
shall be humbled,
but whoever humbles himself
shall be exalted."
Matthew 23:10-12

Who is your teacher?
Do you have a teacher?
Do you teach yourself?
Do you call people 'teacher'?
Maybe you are a teacher in school.
Jesus is your teacher.
Listen to him.
Study what he has said.
Study his life.
He is the one.
There is no other.
Are you the best at something?
Are you the greatest?
Are you proud of your achievements?
Who gave you your talents?
Who has blessed you with many gifts?
The glory should go to God.
Do you boast?
Give the glory to the one
who made you.
Don't think of yourself.
Think of others.
Serve others.
Jesus said it.
Now get up and do it.
I see so many people who are down.
Get up.
Move on.
You are in your permanent camp
(house, apartment, state of mind).
Time to move.
Time to change.
Break camp.
Pack up a few things.
Set out on a new adventure.
Move out of your comfort zone.
If not...
if you don't change...
if you don't move on...
I could be wrong, but...
I think you are dead.
Such a scary thought.
Are you alive?
Take your pulse.
I am going to the doctor today
for an examine.
They will check my pulse and
blood pressure first thing.
It tells them a lot.
You need an examine also.
Go to the divine "doctor".
You need to know the truth
about yourself.

"We give you thanks, O God,
and we invoke your name;
we declare your wondrous deeds."
Psalms 75:1-2

We give you praise and thanks
today, O Lord.
You are deserving of all our love.
We are moved by your generosity.
We are touched by your love.
We bow down before you.
We adore you.
Jesus, you are the one.
We lift you up on high.
You are mighty.
You are worthy of all our praise.
Today is All Saint's Day.
May we all be saints.
Inspire us, O Lord.
Keep us near you.
Help us to stay away from evil.
Forgive us, Lord.
We fall down,
but you pick us up.
Give us strength for our journey.
Help us to see the truth.
You are all that we need.
We praise you, Lord.
We bless you
and give you all the glory.
Amen.

Last night I walked my nephew, Jacob,
around his neighborhood for
Trick or Treat candy.
We went to about 50 houses.
We are on Pine, Woolworth, Williams,
Poppleton east of 48 Street in Omaha .
It was around 47 degrees F (8 C),
so you had to keep moving to stay warm.
It is a nice old neighborhood.
We walked around for about 90 minutes.
