May 1 to 31, 1999

Love is the answer
Joy comes from the Lord

Find new life

Jesus is the way

Eternal life is yours

Be at peace

Now Is The Time

(May 31, 1999 6:05 AM CDT)

"This gate is the Lord's;
the just shall enter it.
I will give thanks to you,
for you have answered me
and have been my savior.
The stone which the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
By the Lord has this been done;
it is wonderful in our eyes."
Psalms 118:20-23

Behold God.
In all his glory.
In all his splendor.
He is the rock to build upon.
He is the foundation.
Do not reject him.
Enter the gate.
Answer his call.
See with your own eyes.
The Lord has done it.
He is the savior of the world.

It is Memorial Day in the USA.
Let us remember.
Let us change our ways.
Let us forgive.
Let us prevent the next war.
Let us learn from our mistakes.
Let us never forget.
God bless America .

(May 30, 1999 7:06 AM CDT)

"Shout for joy, O daughter Zion!
sing joyfully, O Israel!
Be glad and exult with all your heart,
O daughter Jerusalem!
The Lord has removed the judgment against you,
he has turned away your enemies;
The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst,
you have no further misfortune to fear."
Zephaniah 3:14-15

Do not fear.
Jesus has come.
He has rescued you.
Your enemies will turn away.
You will win the fight.
You will exult.
You will find fortune.
Praise the Lord.
Jesus is in your midst.
Be glad.

Would you believe that Bill Cosby
gave the commencement address at
California State University - Stanislaus yesterday?
What a joke.
I watched it on C-SPAN .

(May 29, 1999 9:38 AM CDT)

"To the King of ages,
the immortal,
the invisible,
the only God,
be honor and glory forever and ever!
1 Timothy 1:17

He always was.
He will always be.
He is almighty God.
He is King.
Give him all honor and glory.
Praise the name of Jesus.
He came to earth to save us.
Blessed be his holy name.
Though we do not see him,
we love him.
We adore him.
Praise the Lord.
Holy, holy, holy is our God.
Take time to praise him.
Tell him how you feel.
Lay your burdens on him.

Could you pray for the people that
work on my floor?
Many are under stress.
Some are getting sick because of it.
One has shingles .
I have heard of shingles before,
but I did not know it was like chickenpox.

(May 28, 1999 6:06 AM CDT)

"That is why we thank God constantly
that in receiving his message from us
you took it,
not as the word of men,
but as it truly is,
the word of God at work
within you who believe."
1 Thessalonians 2:13

You need to hear the word of God.
You need to read the word of God.
The Bible is the word of God.
It is the message.
It is from God.
It is for you.
It is for your benefit.
The word is alive.
It is active.
It moves.
It changes hearts.
It is at work.
Read it.
It is the message.

(May 27, 1999 6:04 AM CDT)

It was Graduation Day yesterday for Rachel.
This was written on the cover of the program.

"Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts .
And we are never, ever the same."

(May 26, 1999 6:11 AM CDT)

Good Morning.
The computer is being upgraded today,
so I'm typing this locally on Wordpad again.
Hopefully we'll be back up and running shortly.

"Peter had not finished these words
when the Holy Spirit descended upon all
who were listening to Peter's message."
Acts 10:44

Sometimes I'm listening to a sermon and
know it is inspired by God.
God confirms the truth of the message.
Hearing the word of God proclaimed is very important.
It strengthens your faith.
It brings the Spirit alive in your life.
We need good preachers.
Pray for your church leaders.
Pray that they are lead by the Spirit.
Pray that they bring the Spirit.
Attend church each week.
Be inspired.

(May 25, 1999 6:06 AM CDT)

"For I know well the plans
I have in mind for you,
says the Lord,
plans for your welfare, not for woe!
plans to give you a future full of hope.
When you call me,
when you go to pray to me,
I will listen to you.
When you look for me,
you will find me.
Yes, when you seek me
with all your heart,
you will find me with you,
says the Lord..."
Jeremiah 29:11-14

God has plans for you.
Great plans.
Wonderful plans.
Are you listening to him?
Do you seek to know his will for your life?
He gives you hope.
He gives you a future.
He gives your life meaning.
Pray to Jesus.
Ask him what he wants of you.
Give your heart away.
Find the plan.
Know the plan.

(May 24, 1999 6:06 AM CDT)

"Jesus said to the man,
'Stretch out your hand.'
The man did so
and his hand was perfectly restored."
Mark 3:5

It is a miracle.
It is yours today.
Jesus says to stretch out your hands.
Receive blessings.
God wants to bless you today.
He wants you to have life.
He wants to restore you.
He brings you joy and peace.
Reach out.
Receive the gift.
It is a miracle.

(May 23, 1999 7:16 AM CDT)

Happy Pentecost Sunday.

"When the day of Pentecost came
it found them gathered in one place.
Suddenly from up in the sky
there came a noise like a strong, driving wind
which was heard all through the house
where they were seated.
Tongues as of fire appeared,
which parted and came to rest on each of them.
All were filled with the Holy Spirit.
They began to express themselves
in foreign tongues and make bold proclamation
as the Spirit prompted them."
Acts 2:1-4

All were filled with the Holy Spirit.
This is part of your Christian life.
Live with the Spirit.
Be led by the Spirit.
Be changed by the Spirit.
Come Holy Spirit.

(May 22, 1999 6:51 AM CDT)

The computer is working again this morning.
Praise the Lord!
Thanks for the prayers.
It makes it so much easier.
And I'm sorry for all the misspelled words.
I'm not awake this early in the morning.

Jesus said,
"In the same way,
you are sad for a time,
but I shall see you again;
then your hearts will rejoice
with a joy no one can take from you.
On that day you will have
no questions to ask me."
John 16:22-23

You have lots of questions.
You don't understand.
What is going on?
Jesus has sent the Holy Spirit
to answer your questions.
Ask for the Spirit to come into your life.
Don't be sad anymore.
Let your heart rejoice.
The Spirit will show you the truth.
Be renewed.

(May 21, 1999 6:19 AM CDT)

Hi, I'm having computer problems this morning.
I can't login to the system,
so I'm just typing this locally with Wordpad
and I will upload it later.
Be patient.
We are having technical difficulties.
Please, stand by.

"Praise the Lord from the heavens,
praise him in the heights;
Praise him, all you his angels,
praise him, all you his hosts.
Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, all you shining stars.
Praise him, you highest heavens,
and you waters above the heavens.
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for he commanded and they were created;
He established them forever and ever;
he gave them a duty which shall not pass away."
Psalms 148:1-6

This is different today.
We are to give praise to God in all things.
Praise him when the computer works and
when it does not.
How to you react when things go wrong?
Do you curse and swear?
Do you complain?
Do you make the best of it?
That is part of life.
Difficulties are part of life.
You can't get away from them.
It is better to have the Lord help you
than to try it on your own.
Jesus, help us through this day.
Praise the Lord in all things.

(May 20, 1999 6:03 AM CDT)

Happy Birthday to my Mom today!
God bless you.

"Whatever you do,
work at it with your whole being.
Do it for the Lord
rather than for men,
since you know full well
you will receive an inheritance
from him as your reward."
Colossians 3:23-24

Offer up your work to the Lord.
Make it the best you can do.
Offer up your school studies.
Do it for the Lord.
Don't brag about it.
Give the glory to God.
He gave you the talents to excel.
Praise God.
God will bless you.
You are the child.
Reflect the Father who made you.

(May 19, 1999 6:05 AM CDT)

"Everyone is busy
seeking his own interests
rather than those of Christ Jesus."
Philippians 2:21

What are you doing?
What are your interests?
Are you interested in Jesus?
Are you interested in other things?
Seek the Lord.
Find out more about him.
Grow and grow in wisdom.
Are you busy?
Make time for Jesus.
Make time to pray.
Thank him.
Give praise to him.
What are you interested in?

(May 18, 1999 5:59 AM CDT)

"Those who were regarded as important,
however (and it makes no difference to me
how prominent they were ---
God plays no favorites),
made me add nothing."
Galatians 2:6

God loves everyone.
He loves the rich and poor,
those with homes and the homeless,
men and women, boys and girls,
Christians and non-Christians,
students and drop-outs,
the old and young,
those that know a lot and
those that know little,
those who walk and the lame,
the saint and sinner,
the bomber and the bombed,
He loves us all.
If you think you are important,
think again.
You are a child of God,
made in the image of God.
God loves you.
The question is:
What is your response to God?

(May 17, 1999 5:59 AM CDT)

"It is in Christ and through his blood
that we have been redeemed and
our sins forgiven, so immeasurably
generous is God's favor to us.
God has given us the wisdom
to understand fully the mystery,
the plan he was pleased to decree in Christ,
to be carried out in the fullness of time:
namely, to bring all things in the heavens
and on earth into one
under Christ's headship."
Ephesians 1:7-10

Who is in charge?
Who has control?
Who is the leader?
Christ is the head.
He is the leader.
Do you follow him?
Is he the Lord in your life?
Do you do whatever you want?
The plan is that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Do you know who he is?
Is he important to you?
Do you worship him?
Do you believe in Jesus?
He is the one.
He is generous.
He forgives.
Do you understand "the plan"?

(May 16, 1999 6:16 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Yet I tell you the sober truth:
It is much better for you that I go.
If I fail to go,
the Paraclete will never come to you,
whereas if I go,
I will send him to you.
When he comes,
he will prove the world wrong
about sin,
about justice,
about condemnation."
John 16:7-8

Jesus said he had to return to heaven.
He is physically gone.
Then he sent the Holy Spirit.
He says that is much better.
The Spirit is all over.
The Spirit is within you.
It is a mystery.
Welcome the Spirit.
if you have not received the Holy Spirit.
You need the Spirit in your life.
The Spirit will teach you to avoid sin
and how to live ---
without fear.
No condemnation.
Come Holy Spirit.

(May 15, 1999 6:15 AM CDT)

"The fervent petition of a holy man
is powerful indeed.
Elijah was only a man like us,
yet he prayed earnestly that it
would not rain and no rain fell on the land
for 3 years and 6 months.
When he prayed again,
the sky burst forth with rain
and the land produced its crop."
James 5:16-18

Have confidence when you pray.
Expect great things.
The Lord Jesus hears you.
He showers his blessings on you.
Pray for an end to the war.
Pray that the bombing will stop.
Pray that people can live in peace.
The Lord hears you.
Ask with faith.
Let it rain down.

(May 14, 1999 6:05 AM CDT)

"In view of this,
we must attend all the more
to what we have heard,
lest we drift away.
For if the word spoken through angels
stood unchanged, and all transgression
and disobedience received its due punishment,
how shall we escape
if we ignore a salvation
as great as ours?"
Hebrews 2:1-3

You have met Jesus.
You have read his words.
You have seen miracles.
How can you now turn away?
How can you ignore him?
Turn around.
Return to the Lord.
Come back home.
Return to where you belong.
You can't be happy away from the Lord.
Return with all your heart.
Find peace once more.
Ask for forgiveness of your sins.
Jesus welcomes you back with open arms.
Be healed once again.
It is a miracle.
It is yours.

(May 13, 1999 6:06 AM CDT)

Pray for Mary Ann.
She is very sick.

"Grace to you and peace
from God our Father
and from the Lord Jesus Christ."
Philemon 1:3

What is grace?
It is a free gift from God.
It is a blessing.
It is something that you need.
It makes life easier.
It is something you can't feel or touch.
It helps you in times of trouble.
It is protection for your soul.
It helps your faith to be stronger.
It makes you feel happy.
It brings peace in the midst of the storm.
It is food for your soul.
It is from Jesus.
It is wonderful.
It is a wonder.
Thank the Lord for this gift today.

(May 12, 1999 6:07 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Simon, Simon!
Remember that Satan has asked for you,
to sift you all like wheat.
But I have prayed for you
that your faith may never fail.
You in turn must strengthen your brothers."
Luke 22:31-32

You are under attack.
Will you stand?
Will you survive?
Will you make it?
Evil is all around you.
It is trying to destroy you.
What will you do?
Jesus is praying for you.
He is on your side.
He is praying that you are strong.
Stand up.
Be strong.
Then help your brothers and sisters.
Yes, you can do it.
One person plus the Lord is a winning team.
In a sense...
you have it made.
It is easy.
No problem.

(May 11, 1999 6:06 AM CDT)

Congratulations to Katie.
Today is Confirmation Day for her.
God bless you.

"My son, to my words be attentive,
to my sayings incline your ear;
Let them not slip out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
For they are life to those who find them,
to man's whole being they are health."
Proverbs 4:20-22

You eat food each day
to keep you alive.
You do some exercise to keep in shape.
How much more do you need the
word of God to sustain you.
His words are life.
They are meant for your heart.
Read them.
Say them out loud.
Hear them.
Experience them.
They are for your health ---
spiritually and physically.
Pay attention.

(May 10, 1999 6:06 AM CDT)

"The Lord sets captives free;
the Lord gives sight to the blind.
The Lord raises up those that were bowed down;
the Lord loves the just.
The Lord protects strangers;
the fatherless and the widow he sustains,
but the way of the wicked he thwarts."
Psalms 146:7-9

If you follow the Lord,
he will protect you.
He will watch over you and your family.
He will rescue you.
He will raise you up.
If you go your own way (away from God),
you are on your own.
Heaven help you.

(May 9, 1999 6:31 AM CDT)

Happy Mother's Day.
God bless you and your family.

Jesus said,
"My command to you is:
love your enemies,
pray for your persecutors.
This will prove that you are sons
of your heavenly Father,
for his sun rises on the bad and the good,
he rains on the just and the unjust.
If you love those who love you,
what merit is there in that?"
Matthew 5:44-46

Who do you love?
Is it those in your family?
Is it those who are nice to you?
Jesus says to continue.
Love the people you don't like.
Love those you don't get along with.
Love those who would even hurt you.
You have to be kidding.
No one does that.
But Jesus said to do it.
Will you?
He said it was a command.
Love your enemies.

(May 8, 1999 6:14 AM CDT)

"I will give thanks to you, O Lord,
with all my heart;
I will declare all your wondrous deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, Most High,
Because my enemies are turned back,
overthrown and destroyed before you."
Psalms 9:1-4

If you find that sin has no hold
on you any more, thank God.
That is grace.
If you can overcome temptations,
that is the power of God.
The Lord will help you overthrow evil.
Evil can destroy you.
Push it aside.
Push it out.
Surrender your heart to Jesus.
Call on his name.
This one person called on Jesus
that was in the tornado in Oklahoma.
God will protect you.
I read it in our newspaper
at least twice.
He can send his angels to be with you.
He is all power.
We are weak.
He is strong.
Jesus, help us.

(May 7, 1999 6:04 AM CDT)

"Whatever you do,
whether in speech or in action,
do it in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Give thanks to God the Father
through him."
Colossians 3:17

Give praise to God.
Praise him with words.
Praise him with what you do today.
Do it in his name.
If you can't do it in the name of Jesus,
then don't do it.
Think of others.
Sin is thinking about only yourself.
There are so many hurting people.
Help at least one person today.

(May 6, 1999 6:10 AM CDT)

It is the
National Day of Prayer
Pray today and everyday.

"Over all these virtues put on love,
which binds the rest together
and makes them perfect.
Christ's peace must reign in your hearts,
since as members of the one body
you have been called to that peace.
Dedicate yourselves to thankfulness.
Let the word of Christ, rich as it is,
dwell in you."
Colossians 3:14-16

It is found in Christ.
Read his words.
Dwell on them.
Be thankful.
Be a member.
You are called.
Then you will be rich.
Be perfect.
Love as Christ loved.
Be dedicated.

(May 5, 1999 6:10 AM CDT)

"Pray perseveringly,
be attentive to prayer,
and pray in a spirit of thanksgiving."
Colossians 4:2

Pray often.
Be wide-awake when you pray.
Give God your full attention.
Say thanks.
Then listen.
God has many things to tell you.
He will say that he loves you.
He is watching over you.
He has great plans for your life.
He has called you.

(May 4, 1999 6:07 AM CDT)

"Because you are God's chosen ones,
holy and beloved,
clothe yourselves with heartfelt mercy,
with kindness, humility, meekness and patience.
Bear with one another;
forgive whatever grievances you
have against one another.
Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you."
Colossians 3:12-13

God chose you.
You are special.
You are loved.
He is mercy.
He is forgiveness.
Give your heart to him.
Be merciful.
Be kind.
Be humble.
All these things...
Be a child of God.
Follow Jesus.

(May 3, 1999 6:09 AM CDT)

"I wish their hearts to be strengthened
and themselves to be closely united in love,
enriched with full assurance
by their knowledge of the mystery of God
--- namely Christ ---
in whom every treasure of wisdom
and knowledge is hidden."
Colossians 2:2-3

Are you looking for something?
Are you missing something?
Do you feel emptiness?
Is your heart hurting?
The treasure is hidden.
You need to search.
When you find Jesus
he is the treasure.
He is all wisdom and knowledge.
He is love and strength.
He is all that you need and long for.
It is a mystery.
It is so simple.
It is Christ.

(May 2, 1999 7:20 AM CDT)

"Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
for wisdom and power are his.
He causes the changes of the times and seasons,
makes kings and unmakes them.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those who understand.
He reveals deep and hidden things
and knows what is in the darkness,
for the light dwells with him."
Daniel 2:20-22

This was written about 2,500 years ago.
The name of God is still blessed.
Lives are still being changed.
The story goes on and on.
You can be part of the story.
God will reveal his wisdom to you.
He will bring you out of the darkness.
You will be filled with light.
You will enter a new season in life.
You will be changed.
You don't have to hide anymore.
Bless the Lord.
Praise his name.
Be part of the story.

(May 1, 1999 7:32 AM CDT)

"Only in God is my soul at rest;
from him comes my salvation.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my stronghold;
I shall not be disturbed at all."
Psalms 62:1-3

Find rest.
Find salvation.
Jesus will save you.
You have nothing to fear.
He is on your side.
He comforts you.
He holds you.
Don't be disturbed.
Jesus is the rock.
He is strength.
Ask Jesus to be part of your life.
He will make you strong.
