Love Is The Answer
Time Is Limited

Think of Others

Give Thanks To God

Love As Jesus Did

Take Time To Pray

(June 30, 1999 6:02 AM CDT)

"Peter said:
'I have neither silver nor gold ,
but what I have I give you!
In the name of Jesus Christ
the Nazorean, walk!'
Then Peter took him by the right hand
and pulled him up.
Immediately the beggar's feet
and ankles became strong;
he jumped up,
stood for a moment,
then began to walk around.
He went into the temple with them ---
walking, jumping about, and praising God.""
Acts 3:6-8

What do you have?
What can you share?
Do you have lots of money?
What can you give to others?
You have Jesus.
He is the treasure of treasures.
Share your faith.
Live your faith.
Reach out your hand and pull them up.
Rejoice with them.
Jump for joy.
Praise God.
Don't sit there inactive.
Walk around.
Get moving.
You are rich in Christ.
Share the wealth.

(June 29, 1999 6:02 AM CDT)

Someone wrote to me with a prayer request.
Pray for him and his family.
Thanks.

"Jesus got into one of the boats,
the one belonging to Simon,
and asked him to pull out
a short distance from the shore;
then, remaining seated,
he continued to teach
the crowds from the boat."
Luke 5:3

How can God use you?
What does he ask of you?
First you need a "boat".
You need a way to bring Jesus to others.
What is your boat?
It is unique to you.
We are all different.
It could be that you work
at the auto parts store .
(I stopped at one yesterday.)
Be of service to all those
who come your way.
Wherever you are.
Teach people by example.
Teach them with words.
Four days ago I was at lunch with
with some people and they needed money.
They were joking that they could burn
their house and collect the insurance.
I asked them how could they even
say such a thing.
Fire is not a joke.
I was in a fire once.
I was about 18 years old and worked
as a night janitor at 19th and Farnam
in the Service Life Building.
A bag of trash sitting in the hallway
on 6th floor by the elevators
was burning.
I saw the reflection of the flames
on the marble walls.
It was probably a cigarette in the
trash that caused it.
My mind went blank.
I panicked.
I pushed the button to summon the elevator
and others came to help me.
The fire was put out fairly quickly
by me using a fire extinguisher.
I choked on the thick black smoke
and had to get away from it by
standing in the near by stairway.
Others poured buckets of water
on the bag.
It was very scary.

(June 28, 1999 6:00 AM CDT)

"That is why every one of you
who judges another is inexcusable.
By your judgment you convict yourself,
since you do the very same things."
Romans 2:1

Are you perfect?
Do you have no faults?
Do you look down at others?
Are you that great?
We all struggle.
We all seek to please God,
but we fail sometimes.
Help your brother or sister when they fall.
Help them get back up.
Comfort them.
Be with them.
Encourage them.
Be a friend.
Restore their faith.
Give them your hand.
They need someone.
They need you.

(June 27, 1999 6:25 AM CDT)

"Jesus said,
'Who are my mother and my brothers?'
And gazing around him at those seated
in the circle he continued,
'These are my mother and my brothers.
Whoever does the will of God
is brother and sister and mother to me.'"
Mark 3:33-35

Are you a brother?
Are you a sister?
Are you in the circle?
Listen to Jesus.
Catch his every word.
Treasure them.
He is gazing at you.
He is looking.
Do the will of God.
Follow him.
Give up your heart.
Surrender.
Let the Lord lead you.
Find relationship.
Belong to the family.
It is the circle of life.

(June 26, 1999 8:08 AM CDT)

"My God in turn will supply
your needs fully,
in a way worthy of his magnificent
riches in Christ Jesus.
All glory to our God and Father
for unending ages!
Amen."
Philippians 4:19-20

It's trust again.
Do you believe that God will provide?
He will give you all that you need.
Do you believe it?
It is the glory of God.
Unending glory.
Accept it.
Believe it.
Treasure it.
Jesus loves you.
Why wouldn't he care all about you?
He is magnificent.
I pray that you know him.
I pray that you have met him.
I pray that you grow in knowledge of him.
He is it.
Forever.
Amen.

(June 25, 1999 5:56 AM CDT)

It's Friday and it's payday.
Thank God.

"He spread a cloud to cover them
and fire to give them light by night.
They asked and he brought them quail,
and with bread from heaven he satisfied them.
He cleft the rock, and the water gushed forth;
it flowed through the dry lands like a stream.
For he remembered his holy word
to his servant Abraham.
And he led forth his people with joy;
with shouts of joy, his chosen ones."
Psalms 105:39-43

By night he will lead you.
It is fire.
It is the Holy Spirit.
He will lead you.
The cloud is there.
The glory of God is there.
Bow down in worship.
Be in awe.
Are you satisfied?
Come into the desert.
Come away from the world.
Get away from the distractions.
Come experience the fire of God.
You need the stream.
You need water.
The water will gush forth.
You need to be renewed.
God remembers his word.
He will never leave you.
He is always at your side.
Ask him to forgive your sins.
He is waiting.
Ask and be renewed by fire.

(June 24, 1999 6:00 AM CDT)

"Have no love for the world,
nor the things that the world affords.
If anyone loves the world,
the Father's love has no place in him,
for nothing that the world affords
comes from the Father.
Carnal allurements,
enticements for the eye,
the life of empty show ---
all these are from the world.
And the world with its seductions
is passing away
but the man who does God's will
endures forever."
1 John 2:15-17

The world is there
with all its temptations.
It is exciting.
It is enticing.
But what is important?
What lasts a long time?
What endures?
It is the things not of the world.
It is God and his kingdom.
It is things you have never seen.
Everything you see is passing away.
Only the things of God endure.
Go for distance.
Go for the long timeline.
Go for forever.

(June 23, 1999 6:03 AM CDT)

"To the centurion Jesus said,
'Go home.
It shall be done because you trusted.'
That very moment the boy got better."
Matthew 8:13

Do you trust Jesus?
Do you believe what he said?
Believe.
Trust.
Miracles can happen.
Pray right now:
Jesus, help me to trust you.
Help me to grow in faith.
I am weak and you are strong.
Increase my faith.
Heal me.
Heal my family and friends.
We pray for a miracle.
Make us better this very moment.
Bring us all closer to you.
Watch our every step today.
Protect us from evil.
Send your angels.
Keep us safe.
Bring us home to you.
We pray this in the name of Jesus.
Amen.

(June 22, 1999 6:02 AM CDT)

"The just man shall flourish like the palm tree,
like a cedar of Lebanon shall he grow.
They that are planted in the house of the Lord
shall flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall bear fruit even in old age;
vigorous and sturdy shall they be,
Declaring how just is the Lord,
my Rock, in whom there is no wrong."
Psalms 92:13-16

Just because you are old
does not mean you can retire.
A Christian never retires.
You are to spread the faith
until you die.
Don't move away and hide.
You are to continue to flourish and grow.
You have wisdom to share.
You know the Rock (Jesus) from many
trials and struggles.
You are the tall tree.
You are an example of greatness.
Continue God's work.
Be sturdy.

(June 21, 1999 6:04 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"I am the true vine
and my Father is the vinegrower.
He prunes away every barren branch,
but the fruitful ones he trims clean
to increase their yield."
John 15:1-2

Do you need some trimming?
Do you need some cleaning?
We all need course corrections.
We go off on tangents.
We wander.
What keeps us on course?
It is Jesus.
Keep your eyes on Jesus.
Many times we look at others
or we look at ourselves.
What are "they" doing?
Compare yourself to the true vine.
He is the one true way.
He is the one that provides growth.
If you are not growing,
you need help.
You need cleaning.
Be attached to Jesus.
Grow.

(June 20, 1999 6:14 AM CDT)

Happy Father's Day.
God bless all the fathers.

"Let your speech be always gracious
and in good taste,
and strive to respond properly
to all who address you."
Colossians 4:6

Do you ignore some people?
They say 'hello' to you and
you pretend they don't exist.
This is not right.
If a homeless person talks to you,
do you stop and listen?
Are you too busy?
You don't want to be seen with them.
You are afraid of them.
Stop.
Make time.
Listen.
Everyone is made by God.
Everyone is special.
How can you treat them so bad?
How do you respond?
What if it was you?
How would you feel?
Hello.

(June 19, 1999 6:19 AM CDT)

Pray for a friend who is having
problems with her neck.
Thanks.

"Because you are God's chosen ones,
holy and beloved,
clothe yourselves with heartfelt mercy,
with kindness,
humility,
meekness,
and patience."
Colossians 3:12

You are the one.
You are chosen.
Do you feel special?
Do you feel loved?
Feel it.
Do it.
Be kind as the Lord is kind.
Be merciful as the Lord is merciful.
Be patient as the Lord is very patient with you.
It will not be easy.
Call on Jesus to help you.
You are loved.
Live it.

(June 18, 1999 6:06 AM CDT)

So how did we (Dan, Sue, Cousin Ron, Trudi)
do at golf? 78 which is 6 over par.
It was a team effort. It was fun,
but I got tired at the end.
You could not have asked for a nicer day.

"You form a building
which rises on the foundation
of the apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone."
Ephesians 2:20

It takes teamwork.
You are not alone.
You have many brothers and sisters.
You are on the team.
You have a great and awesome leader.
You are followers of Jesus.
If I played golf on my own,
I would have been at least 25 over par,
but since I was part of the team
we achieved something I could not do.
Pray together.
Attend church together.
Be part of the team.
See what great things happen.

(June 17, 1999 6:07 AM CDT)

It's 46 F (7 C) degrees to start the day.
It's a little cool, but it is sunny.
I'm going to play some golf at
Dodge Park in Council Bluffs, Iowa
this morning.
It should be fun.

"Our hope being such,
we act with full confidence.
We are not like Moses,
who used to hide his face with a veil
so that the Israelites could not see
the final fading of that glory."
2 Corinthians 3:12-13

Don't hide.
Let your light shine.
The world needs you.
It needs new life.
Let your love for Jesus show.
He is your hope.
He is your confidence.
He is everything.
Stand up for what is right and holy.
If Jesus would not do it,
don't do it.
Do what is right.
There was a traffic accident
two days ago and no one stopped who witnessed it.
This was at 87 Avenue and Pacific at 5:15 PM
during rush hour traffic.
Help those in need.
Comfort them.

(June 16, 1999 6:13 AM CDT)

"Sing joyfully to the Lord, all you lands;
serve the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful song.
Know that the Lord is God;
he made us, his we are;
his people, the flock he tends.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him; bless his name,
for he is good:
the Lord, whose kindness endures forever,
and his faithfulness, to all generations."
Psalms 100:1-5

Are you happy?
Are you glad to be alive?
Do you sing Christian songs?
Do you listen to Christian music?
Are you a positive person?
Do you see goodness in others?
Are you thankful?
Give praise to God.
Be faithful.
Be a joy.
Be what God wants you to be.
It's your world...
It's your life...
go change it.

(June 15, 1999 6:01 AM CDT)

"You are my letter,
known and read by all men,
written on your hearts.
Clearly you are a letter of Christ
which I have delivered,
a letter written not with ink
but by the Spirit of the living God,
not on tablets of stone
but on tablets of flesh in the heart."
2 Corinthians 3:2-3

People are looking at you.
They are watching you.
Do they see goodness and kindness?
Do they see the heart of Jesus?
Do they see the Spirit?
Change your heart.
Find new life.
Find holiness.
Find the letter.
Be the letter.
Display a life worth reading.

(June 14, 1999 6:00 AM CDT)

"They were still gazing up into the heavens
when two men dressed in white
stood beside them.
'Men of Galilee,' they said,
'why do you stand here looking up
at the skies? This Jesus
who has been take from you will return,
just as you saw him go up into the heavens.'"
Acts 1:10-11

Are you standing around?
Are you looking up?
Yes, it is important to look toward heaven,
but life goes on.
You are called to do something.
You are here for a reason.
Yes, Jesus will return one day.
He is coming again,
but don't just stand around.
You need to prepare.
You need to pray.
You need to work.
Do your task.
Pray your part.
Then...
look to the heavens.

(June 13, 1999 7:08 AM CDT)

"Jesus put his fingers into the man's ears
and, spitting, touched his tongue;
then he looked up to heaven
and emitted a groan.
Jesus said to him,
'Ephphatha!' (that is, 'Be opened!')
At once the man's ears were opened;
he was freed from the impediment,
and began to speak plainly."
Mark 7:33-35

Can you hear?
Can you speak?
Jesus comes to heal you.
You need help.
You need healing.
Your ears need healing.
Your mouth needs healing.
Open your ears to the truth.
Speak the truth.
Jesus is the truth.
He touches you.
You are changed.
Be healed.

(June 12, 1999 8:22 AM CDT)

I got my car back yesterday.
God bless the people that fixed it.

The College World Series
is in town (Omaha) .

"For you are a people sacred
to the Lord, your God;
he has chosen you from all the nations
on the face of the earth
to be a people peculiarly his own."
Deuteronomy 7:6

You are special.
You are chosen.
God is calling you.
Come and see what he has for you.
Turn away from your life of sin.
Come to the light.
Come and see goodness.
Find joy that is from above.
He is calling.
Are you listening?
I like this song
"The Kirby Man"
.
Have you heard it?
Read the lyrics.
You can listen to a little of the music.

(June 11, 1999 5:58 AM CDT)

"God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him may not die
but may have eternal life."
John 3:16

He loves you.
Yes, God loves you.
He made you and
wants the best for you.
He invites you to new life.
Will you join him?
Do you even think about him?
Come and see.
See the invitation.
See life that never ends.
See hope that does not die.
See waterfalls that are very beautiful.
It is life.
It is yours.

(June 10, 1999 6:01 AM CDT)

"You are among those called.
Consider your situation.
Not many of you are wise,
as men account wisdom;
not many are influential;
and surely not many are well-born.
God chose those
whom the world considers absurd
to shame the wise;
he singled out the weak of this world
to shame the strong."
1 Corinthians 1:26-27

You are called by God.
He is calling you.
Do you listen?
Do you ignore him?
How do you respond?
Grace will lead you.
Grace is there.
God gives you the talents.
He gives you grace.
You may not have a college education,
but God can use you.
You have a job to do
that no one else can do.
Who else will reach out to your
family and friends?
Show them your special love.
Reach out to them.
Hug them.
Share the love of Jesus.
Fulfill your calling.

(June 9, 1999 5:59 AM CDT)

My car (1991 Camry) is being fixed,
so I'm driving my sister's car around.
Hopefully by Friday I will get it back.

"From heaven the Lord looks down;
he sees all mankind.
From his fixed throne he beholds
all who dwell on the earth.
He who fashioned the heart of each,
he who knows all their works."
Psalms 33:13-15

God didn't just create the world
and forget about us.
He watches over us.
He is concerned about us.
He has created your heart.
He wants you to grow and to be happy.
He wants the best for you.
You must respond.
Don't ignore God.
Pray to him.
Worship Jesus.
Praise him.
He will listen to you.
He is watching over you.
He will change you.
Creation continues.

(June 8, 1999 5:58 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"I tell you,
unless your holiness surpasses
that of the scribes and Pharisees
you shall not enter the kingdom of God."
Matthew 5:20

Is holiness important to you?
Do you ever think about it?
Or do you just try to get by
with as little as possible?
Being a Christian takes effort.
It takes concentration.
You need to be focused.
You strive to be perfect.
You want to live for Jesus.
By yourself it is impossible,
but with God all things are possible.
Yes, you could be a saint.
Call on the Holy Spirit today.
You need all the help you can get.
Pray for holiness.
Seek the way.
Live for God.
Jesus, make me a saint
in spite of myself.

(June 7, 1999 5:58 AM CDT)

(June 6, 1999 6:33 AM CDT)

"O Lord, you have probed me and you know me;
you know when I sit and when I stand;
you understand my thoughts from afar.
My journeys and my rest you scrutinize,
with all my ways you are familiar.
Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know the whole of it.
Behind me and before, you hem me in
and rest your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
too lofty for me to attain."
Psalms 139:1-6

Think about God.
Think about who he is
and how wonderful he is.
He surrounds us with his love.
He watches over us.
He knows us inside and out.
He sees our sins and
calls us to change.
He sees our fears and
comforts us.
He sees our dreams and
gives us his vision.
He sees our joy and
rejoices with us.
It is wonderful knowledge.
He is there.

(June 5, 1999 6:17 AM CDT)

It's 77 F (25 C) degrees to start the day.
It's going to be hot and humid
here in Omaha .

"There is One who can protect you
from a fall and
make you stand unblemished and
exultant in the presence of his glory.
Glory be to this only God our savior,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Majesty, too, be his,
might and power from ages past,
now and for ages to come.
Amen."
Jude 1:24-25

Yesterday I went to see the
Western Heritage Museum
with my niece and nephew.
It has information on Omaha for about the
last 150 years.
Not a very long time in history.
God goes back for ages and ages.
He is standing.
He is solid.
He is unchanging.
He is might and power.
Put your faith in him.
Trust him.
He is majesty.
Now and forever.
You need to see the big picture
not just a few years.

(June 4, 1999 6:08 AM CDT)

"But you, beloved,
grow strong in your holy faith
through prayer in the Holy Spirit.
Persevere in God's love,
and welcome the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ
which leads to life eternal.
Correct those who are confused;
the others you must rescue,
snatching them from the fire."
Jude 1:20-22

Are you confused?
Do you know what to do?
You need a correction.
You need new life.
You need life eternal.
Jesus is life.
Are you willing to change?
There is fire (hell).
It will burn you.
This is life without God.
You need rescue.
You need to be snatched.
Don't be confused.
Find life.
Find hope.
Find Jesus.
Don't you feel better already?

(June 3, 1999 6:01 AM CDT)

"Indeed, our purpose in writing you this
is that our joy may be complete.
Here, then, is the message
we have heard from him
and announce to you:
that God is light;
in him there is no darkness."
1 John 1:4-5

Completion.
Wholeness.
Attaining the goal.
The finish line.
Set your sights on Jesus.
Don't be distracted.
Don't be taken off course.
Keep focused.
Joy will then be yours.
You will find light.
Darkness will not be a problem.
Don't ever give up hope.
Never.
You will make it with the grace of God.
God be with you.

(June 2, 1999 6:17 AM CDT)

Paul said,
"I have had God's help to this very day,
and so I stand here to testify
to great and small alike.
Nothing that I say differs from
what the prophets and Moses foretold:
namely, that the Messiah must suffer,
and that, as the first to rise from the dead,
he will proclaim light to our people
and to the Gentiles."
Acts 26:22-23

Paul was sent by God.
He was called.
He had God's help each day.
He says the same thing to you today.
Jesus is the one.
He has come to save you.
God will help you today.
He suffered for you.
He cares about you.
Jesus is light.
God is calling you.
Proclaim the news.
Talk to the great and small.
Light up the world.

(June 1, 1999 6:04 AM CDT)

Jesus said to them,
"The healthy do not need a doctor;
sick people do.
I have not come
to invite the self-righteous
to a change of heart, but sinners."
Luke 5:31-32

Are you sick?
Do you need a doctor?
Be honest.
How well are you?
You need help.
You need Jesus.
You need to be healed.
You need to be restored.
Jesus will help you today.
He will change you.
Your heart will be made new.
Don't be independent.
Be dependent.
You need help.
