Since then we have a great high priest
who has passed through the heavens,
Jesus, the Son of God,
let us hold fast our confession.
For we have not a high priest
who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are,
yet without sin.
Let us then with confidence
draw near to the throne of grace,
that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help in time of need.
Yes, Jesus, you are our high priest.
You stand between us and God the Father.
You plead for us.
You pray for us.
You have showed us the way by not falling into temptation.
You were like us, but did not sin.
We pray for that same strength.
We pray for that oneness with the Father.
May we be in right relationship with God.
May we pray as you prayed.
May we teach others with authority as you did.
May we perform miracles as you did.
We have fallen, Lord, and can't get up.
We need your help. We call out to you.
Pull us up. Rescue us. Save us.
We are blind in our sins.
Show us the path that leads to the truth.
Forgive our sins. Have mercy on our souls.
We have gone astray.
Bring us back home.
