I call heaven and earth today to witness against you:
I have set before you life and death,
the blessing and the curse.
Choose life, then,
that you and your descendants may live,
by loving the Lord, your God,
heeding his voice, and holding fast to him.
For that will mean life for you,
a long life for you to live on the land
which the Lord swore he would give to your fathers
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Yes, Lord, help us to choose life.
Help us to live for you.
Help us to love you with our whole heart.
You first loved us.
You reached out to us.
Help us to turn our lives around toward you.
Have mercy on our souls.
We are so caught up in the things of this world.
We love power, money and material things.
We cling to these things.
Help us to let go.
Help us to drop these things that get in the way.
Help us to empty our lives to receive your blessings.
Bless us, O Lord.
Shower us with your abundant life.
Thank you, Lord.
We love you, Lord Jesus.
