November, 2000

This is the day
Find peace

Jesus is all you need

The sky is not the limit

The Lord is holy

Be watchful

(November 30, 2000 6:09 AM CST)

"Your obedience is known to all,
and so I am delighted with you.
I want you to be wise in regard to what is good
and innocent of all evil.
Then the God of peace will quickly
crush Satan under you feet."
Romans 16:19-20

Do you obey God?
Is obedience part of your life?
Do you do whatever you want?
The Bible says to be wise.
It says to be good.
Stay far from evil.
Call on the power of God to crush evil.
The Lord is on your side.
The Lord Jesus is your shield of protection.
Call on the name of the Lord.
Follow the ways of God.
Obey God.

(November 29, 2000 6:11 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"I tell you truly:
you will weep and mourn
while the world rejoices;
you will grieve for a time,
but your grief will be turned into joy."
John 16:20

The Christian life is not easy.
You will weep.
There will be mourning.
It will be difficult,
but God is there.
Your grief will be turned into joy.
You will rejoice.
Be strong.
Trust in the Lord Jesus.
He will see you through.
We will be glad.

(November 28, 2000 6:06 AM CST)

"John the Baptizer appeared in the desert,
proclaiming a baptism of repentance
which led to the forgiveness of sins."
Mark 1:4

John appears in the desert.
Strange place to be, isn't it?
It is dry and dead and lifeless.
Maybe it says something about your life.
Are you alive?
Do you have the fullness of life?
God's message comes to you in the desert.
Will you respond?
He wants to give you water (baptism).
God wants to give you new life (forgiveness).
He gives you a new joyful spirit.
God is there in the desert with you.

(November 27, 2000 6:03 AM CST)

"Only goodness and kindness follow me
all the days of my life;
And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
for years to come."
Psalms 23:6

It is a promise.
It is a promise from the Lord.
He will bless you over and over all your days.
He blesses you with goodness and kindness.
He has prepared a house for you in heaven.
It is a beautiful house.
Stay near the Lord Jesus.
Hold his hand in the tough times.
He is with you all your days.

(November 26, 2000 7:39 AM CST)

"We know that God makes all things work together
for the good of those who love God
and are called according to his decree."
Romans 8:28

Yes, all things will work together.
We look at the election and think it is hopeless.
Who will be the next president?
We look at the crime on the streets and are sad.
Will it ever end?
Somehow someway it will all work out.
God is in control.
He can bring good from bad situations.
He lifts up those who are down.
He raises up leaders in the chaos.
He gives hope to the hopeless.
He is God.
He is there.

(November 25, 2000 8:04 AM CST)

Lately I've been studying Java.
It took me two days to download JDK 1.2.2 .
I don't have a fast connection.
I downloaded JDK in 14 pieces 1.4 M diskette size.
It took about 10 minutes per piece on my 56K modem.
Now I just need to study it and write some test programs.
I took a Java class way back on May 9, 1998 .
I think I forgot most of it.

One of my favorite songs lately is
"My Father's Heart" by Rachael Lampa .
She will be on TV tonight and tomorrow according to this link
from the Crystal Cathedral.

Jesus said to them,
"A man had two sons.
The younger of them said to his father,
'Father, give me the share of the estate
that is coming to me.'
So the father divided up the property.
Some days later this younger son
collected all his belongings and
went off to a distant land,
where he squandered his money on dissolute living."
Luke 15:11-13

This is the Prodigal Son.
Read the entire story at this link above.
It is an important story.
It is the story of your life.
You have run away from your Father.
You have taken all that you own and left town.
Your Father waits for the day you will return.
He watches on the horizon for you.
He wants to see you again.
Come home.
Come back to your Father.
The heart of the Father is broken.
He longs for your return.
Return home.

(November 24, 2000 6:13 AM CST)

I think I had too many deserts yesterday.
My tummy was hurting last night.

My sister-in-law had her picture in the newspaper
yesterday on page 59.

Jesus said,
"I assure you,
if you had faith the size of a mustard seed,
you would be able to say to this mountain,
'Move from here to there,' and it would move.
Nothing would be impossible for you."
Matthew 17:20

God can do it.
Have faith.
You can do it with God's help.
Say it.
Live it.
May your faith be strong.
May it move mountains.
May it change your life.
May it change other people's lives.
May the world be moved.
Start moving.

(November 23, 2000 7:42 AM CST)

Hey, Happy Thanksgiving!
Don't eat too much today.
Take it easy.
Take a few minutes and list the things
you are thankful for.

"I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with all my heart;
I will declare all your wondrous deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, Most High."
Psalms 9:2-3

We thank you, Lord, today.
We thank you for our food and a place to stay.
We thank you for the gift of life and our family.
We are grateful that you have blessed us.
We are amazed at how good you are to us.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for all you have done for us.
We are glad.
We are blessed.

(November 22, 2000 6:07 AM CST)

"If one takes part in an athletic contest,
he cannot receive the winner's crown
unless he has kept the rules."
2 Timothy 2:5

Follow the rules of the Lord.
Live the way of love.
Aim for a crown of glory.
Seek to please the Lord.
Let the Lord rule over you.
Submit your life to him.
Be open to correction.
Be a servant of the Lord.
Win.

(November 21, 2000 6:03 AM CST)

"We know that affliction makes for endurance,
and endurance for tested virtue,
and tested virtue for hope.
And this hope will not leave us disappointed,
because the love of God has been poured out
in our hearts through the Holy Spirit
who has been given to us."
Romans 5:3-5

Hope.
Hope in the Lord.
Endure.
Endure to the end.
Love.
Love with the love of God.

(November 20, 2000 6:04 AM CST)

"The high priest interrogated Jesus:
'Are you the Messiah,
the Son of the Blessed One?'
Jesus answered:
'I am;
and you will see the Son of Man
seated at the right hand of the Power
and coming with the clouds of heaven.'"
Mark 14:61-62

Jesus was God.
He was Almighty God.
It takes faith to believe this.
Some believed in him and some did not.
Today is the same.
You must decide.
Do you believe in Jesus?
Do you trust your life to him?
Yes, you will know when you see him
coming with the clouds of heaven,
but then it is too late.
Choose him today.
Believe in him.
Today is the day to believe.

(November 19, 2000 7:43 AM CST)

"I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears."
Psalms 34:5

What are you worried about?
What do you have to fear?
Trust in the Lord.
Trust in his power.
Believe in him.
Put your life in his hands.
You have nothing to fear.
The Lord is with you.

(November 18, 2000 6:13 AM CST)

"The next morning Jesus left the town
and set out into the open country.
The crowds went in search of him,
and when they found him
they tried to keep him from leaving them."
Luke 4:42

It is another day.
It is a day filled with possibilities.
Seek out Jesus.
Search for him.
When you find him hold on tight.
Don't ever let him go.
Be open to what he says.
Listen carefully.
Stay close to him.

(November 17, 2000 6:08 AM CST)

We welcome Austin to the world.
He was born 2 days ago.
He has a year 2000 birth certificate.
God bless him and his family.

Zermatt really got some serious snow today.

"The testimony is this:
God gave us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son.
Whoever possesses the Son
possesses life;
whoever does not possess the Son of God
does not possess life."
1 John 5:11-12

The Son of God came to earth.
He came to bring us peace and hope.
Few welcomed him.
The family had to run for their lives to another country.
He was the giver of life.
He came to share this gift.
Receive this life.
Possess this life.
It is eternal life that can start in year 2000 for you.

(November 16, 2000 6:06 AM CST)

"Near the cross of Jesus there stood his mother,
his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas,
and Mary Magdalene."
John 19:25

There is the cross.
Are you near to it?
Are you far away?
That is part of Jesus.
It is part of who he is.
He gave his life for us.
He gave all that he had.
Will you stand near Jesus?
Will you be close to him?
Yes, there is suffering.
Sometimes you are in pain.
Stand close to Jesus.
Be near him.

(November 15, 2000 6:05 AM CST)

"Venerate the Lord, that is, Christ, in your hearts.
Should anyone ask you the reason for this hope of yours,
be ever ready to reply,
but speak gently and respectfully."
1 Peter 3:15-16

Praise the Lord each day.
Bless the Lord.
Give your heart to him.
Share this love of the Lord.
Be ready to give the truth to others.
Talk gently.
Listen to them.
Respect the people you talk with.
Many need good news.
They are open to the truth.
How will they know unless someone tells them?

(November 14, 2000 6:06 AM CST)

"Remember this:
the person who brings a sinner back
from their way will save their soul from death
and cancel a multitude of sins."
James 5:20

Many times we forget.
We ignore the lost.
We don't think about them.
Let us remember them.
Let us bring them hope.
Christ is that hope.
He will save their soul.
The blood of Christ cancels sin.
He forgives all who ask.
We praise the Lord for his forgiveness and love.
We thank the Lord for not forgetting us.
He remembers.

(November 13, 2000 6:10 AM CST)

I'm writing offline this morning, so you know what that means.
Please, pray that this technical problem can be resolved.
Thanks.

"First of all,
I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions,
and thanksgiving be offered for all people,
especially for kings and those in authority,
that we may be able to lead undisturbed and tranquil lives
in perfect piety and dignity."
1 Timothy 2:1-2

We pray today for the leaders of countries all over the world.
We pray that they will be guided by God.
That they will protect their people.
That all can live in freedom and peace.
That we may be people of God.
That we will submit to God's authority.
That we will be lead by the Holy Spirit.
That our lives will be holy.
Petition the Lord.
Offer prayers to Almighty God.
Intercede for others.
Thank the Lord Jesus for all he has done.
Do it with dignity.

(November 12, 2000 7:00 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"Come to me,
all you who are weary
and find life burdensome,
and I will refresh you."
Matthew 11:28

Are you burned out?
Are you at the end of your rope?
Jesus says to come to him.
Come away for a time.
Spend time with him.
It is the Lord's day today (Sunday).
Go to church today.
Yes, that is just what you need.
You need prayer.
You need refreshment.
Give your burdens to the Lord.
Be changed.
Be lifted up.

(November 11, 2000 9:46 AM CST)

"The Lord God will wipe away
the tears from all faces."
Isaiah 25:8

You may be sad.
You may be lonely.
The Lord says he will wipe your tears away.
He will comfort you.
He is there in your sorrow and pain.
He reaches out in love to you.
You are his child.
He is concerned about you.
Know that he loves you.
He takes your hand.

(November 10, 2000 6:06 AM CST)

"The angel then showed me the river of life-giving water,
clear as crystal,
which issued from the throne of God and of the Lamb
and flowed down the middle of the streets."
Revelation 22:1-2

Is it crystal clear?
Is it obvious?
Jesus is the Lamb.
He gives life-giving water to all.
He is seated on the throne.
He pours out abundant blessings on all people.
He walks the streets with us.
He is part of the flow of life.
He moves.
He issues you good news.
See the river.
Make him the center of your heart.

(November 9, 2000 6:02 AM CST)

And the winner is...
as we wait for the winner of the election
let us pray for God to bless America.

The problem was my ISP.
It was not my phone lines.
I was dialing in to an old number.
Now I have the new number and it is working much better.

"All of you who have been baptized in Christ
have clothed yourselves with him."
Galatians 3:27

Christ has given you something new.
Put on your new clothes.
You are different.
You are covered with his love.
His protection is over you.
Receive this covering.
Receive this blessing.
It is love.
You can't buy these clothes.
They are given with love to you.
It is like being given a new phone number.
It makes all the difference in the world.

(November 8, 2000 6:00 AM CST)

"The centurion, upon seeing what had happened,
gave glory to God by saying,
'Surely this was an innocent man.'"
Luke 23:47

Christ was innocent.
He was blameless.
He was the lamb.
He was spotless.
He died for us.
We thank the Lord.
Thank you for loving us.

(November 7, 2000 6:01 AM CST)

It snowed overnight here in Omaha .
It is our turn for the cold and wind.

"O Lord, you have been our refuge
through all generations.
Before the mountains were begotten
and the earth and the world were brought forth,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God."
Psalms 90:1-2

He is your refuge.
He is your shelter.
You can run to him for peace.
Give praise to the Lord when everything is falling apart.
He is there to help.
He will hold you together.
He will keep you safe.
Rely on him.
Trust him for everything.
Give praise to God our provider and protector.
Praise the Lord.

(November 6, 2000 5:57 AM CST)

It snowed in Zermatt .

Jesus said,
"I am the light of the world."
John 9:5

Snow makes things so bright.
It can blind you if the sun comes out.
You need sunglasses then.
That is Jesus.
He is light for the world.
He brightens up our days.
He brings joy.
He lifts our burdens.
He shows us right from wrong.
Welcome the light.

(November 5, 2000 6:06 AM CST)

Pray and fast today for the election on Tuesday .

"The Spirit too helps us in our weakness,
for we do not know how to pray as we ought;
but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us
with groanings that cannot be expressed in speech.
He who searches hearts knows what the Spirit means,
for the Spirit intercedes for the saints
as God himself wills."
Romans 8:26-27

It is Sunday.
It is the Lord's day.
We call on the Holy Spirit.
Intercede for us.
Speak for us.
We lack the words.
Search our hearts.
Examine our hearts.
Change our hearts.
Come Spirit of life.
Inspire us.
Give us your wisdom.
Help us to do your will, Lord.
Thank you, Holy Spirit.

(November 4, 2000 6:17 AM CST)

I wonder if my problem is with my phone line.
I have 2 lines in my house and
last evening one worked and one did not.
The problem was not the ISP.
Well, it is gone for now whatever it is...

"Those who trust in him shall understand truth,
and the faithful shall abide with him in love;
Because grace and mercy are with his holy ones,
and his care is with his elect."
Wisdom 3:9

God be with you.
He is on your side.
He blesses you.
He blesses your faithfulness.
He loves you.
You are the elect.
You are special.
Feel the warmth of grace and mercy.
You are his.
Return his love.

(November 3, 2000 6:07 AM CST)

(I'm writing this offline this morning,
because of problems with connecting to my ISP.
Sorry for the delay.)

"The fruit of the spirit is love,
joy, peace, patient endurance,
kindness, generosity, faith,
mildness and chastity."
Galatians 5:22-23

Love one another as Jesus did.
Be a joyful person.
Live in peace with all around you.
Be patient with those who upset you.
Be kind to the impatient.
Give generously to the poor.
Have strong faith.
Be calm in the storms of life.
Live a chaste life.
Call on the Lord to help you.
Call on the Holy Spirit.

(November 2, 2000 5:56 AM CST)

Billy Graham is in Jacksonville, Florida this week.
Pray for him and his team.

"I handed on to you first of all what I myself received,
that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures;
that he was buried and, in accordance with the Scriptures,
rose on the third day, that he was seen by Cephas,
then by the Twelve.
After that he was seen by 500 brothers at once,
most of whom are still alive, although some have fallen asleep."
1 Corinthians 15:3-6

You have over 500 witnesses.
That is a lot of people.
They saw the risen Lord Jesus.
That is something.
If there is a car accident,
there might be one or two witnesses.
Just two witnesses is a lot,
but with the Lord we have hundreds.
And many gave their lives for him.
They died for what they believed.
Our faith is strong because of the many witnesses.
They are saints.

(November 1, 2000 6:05 AM CST)

Paul said,
"The message I proclaim is the sober truth."
Acts 26:25

It is the truth.
Jesus is the way.
He is the truth.
He is eternal life.
Who else promises you life?
What else promises you life?
It is God's promise to you.
Receive this message sober.
Act on it.
It is proclaimed to you.
It is truth.
