May 1 to 31, 1998

Love with the love of God
Listen to the Lord

See visions

Change the world

Pray with all your heart

Be at peace

(May 31, 1998 6:15 AM CDT)

This week Billy Graham will
be on TV. Check this schedule
for when it is on.
In Omaha the program will shown on
Thursday, June 4th, 7 PM
KXVO Channel 15.
Pray that many people will
come to know Jesus.

"When the day of Pentecost came it
found them gathered in one place.
Suddenly from up in the sky there
came a noise like a strong, driving
wind which was heard all through the
house where they were seated. Tongues
as of fire appeared, which parted and
came to rest on each of them. All were
filled with the Holy Spirit. They began
to express themselves in foreign
tongues and make bold proclamation
as the Spirit prompted them."
Acts 2:1-4

Today is Pentecost.
It is 50 days after Easter.
We pray for the Holy Spirit
to come again today.
Fill us and use us.
Be our guide.
Give us joy, peace and love.
Help us to say, 'Jesus is Lord'.
Give us wisdom and understanding.
Come Spirit of life.
Give us the fire of your love.
May the good news be proclaimed
today in all languages.
May it make a bold statement
to the world.

(May 30, 1998 6:21 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"For these I pray ---
not for the world
but for these you have given me,
for they are really yours.
(Just as all that belongs to me
is yours, so all that belongs to
you is mine.) It is in them that
I have been glorified. I am in
the world no more, but these are
in the world as I come to you.
O Father most holy, protect them
with your name which you have
given me that they may be one,
even as we are one."
John 17:9-11

Jesus is praying for you.
He is interceding for you
to the Father.
You belong to him.
Give glory to God.
Do not be in the world.
Give it up for the kingdom of God.
Jesus will protect you.
He watches over you.
Be one with Jesus.
He is the one.
There is no other.
What is keeping you from God?
Give it up.
Be one with God.

(May 29, 1998 6:14 AM CDT)

"My brothers, count it pure joy when
you are involved in every sort of
trial. Realize that when your faith
is tested this makes for endurance.
Let endurance come to its perfection
so that you may be fully mature
and lacking in nothing."
James 1:2-4

Lord, we thank you for the rain
last night and this morning.
Pour out your blessings on your people.
We are suffering.
Help us to endure our trials.
Give us grace to make it through.
Make us more mature in the faith.
We are so weak, you are so strong.
Fill us with your grace.
We are a part of the world.
We need to be a part of you.
Change us, Lord.
Make us like you.

This morning I was watching
Life Is For Living .
They are on VH1
on Fridays at:
Eastern (6am)
Central (5am)
Mountain (4am)
Pacific (6am).
I like their music
with Darlene Zschech .
You might want to set your
VCR and record it.

(May 28, 1998 6:13 AM CDT)

"Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to my voice in supplication;
If you, O Lord, mark iniquities,
Lord, who can stand?
But with you is forgiveness,
that you may be revered.
I trust in the Lord;
my soul trusts in his word.
My soul waits for the Lord
more than sentinels wait for the dawn."
Psalms 130:1-6

We cry out to you, Lord Jesus.
Help us.
We are suffering.
We are in pain.
Hear our cry for help.
Save us from our sins.
Forgive us, Lord.
We trust in you.
Come and save us.
We wait only for you.
We long to see your face.
We thank you for hearing our prayer.
We pray for peace in our hearts.

(May 27, 1998 6:19 AM CDT)

"This was the passage of Scripture he
was reading:
'Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter,
like a lamb before its shearer he was
silent and opened not his mouth.
In his humiliation he was deprived of justice.
Who will ever speak of his posterity,
for he is deprived of his life on earth?'
(Isaiah 53:7)
The eunuch said to Philip, 'Tell me,
if you will, of whom the prophet says this ---
himself or someone else?' Philip launched out
with this Scripture passage as his starting
point, telling him the good news of Jesus."
Acts 8:32-35

Jesus is the Lamb of God.
He was innocent.
He did no wrong.
He died for you and me.
He was beaten and mocked.
He suffered a terrible death.
All this he did for you.
Launch out today.
Seek to know more about Jesus.
He cares about you.
He loves you.
Read the Bible daily.
Read a chapter a day.
Start with the Gospel of Matthew .

(May 26, 1998 6:19 AM CDT)

"The Ethiopian was sitting in his carriage
reading the prophet Isaiah. The Spirit
said to Philip, 'Go and catch up with
that carriage.' Philip ran ahead and
heard the man reading the prophet
Isaiah. He said to him, 'Do you really
grasp what you are reading?' 'How can
I,' the man replied, 'unless someone
explains it to me?' With that, he invited
Philip to get in and sit down beside
him."
Acts 8:28-31

The Lord will send you to people.
They have read about Jesus,
or heard about Jesus,
but don't understand.
You can answer their questions.
Share what you know.
You have this treasure in your heart.
Be open to the Holy Spirit.
Speak the truth.
It is the good news.
It will change the world.

(May 25, 1998 6:25 AM CDT)

"Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice;
let the sea and what fills it resound;
let the plains be joyful and
all that is in them!
Then shall all the trees of the forest exult
before the Lord, for he comes;
for he comes to rule the earth.
He shall rule the world with justice
and the peoples with his constancy."
Psalms 96:11-13

The Lord is coming.
All creation is waiting.
Be glad.
Give God glory and praise.
He is constant.
He does not change.
He is eternal.
He is just.
He is merciful.
Call on his name.
Jesus, come and save me.
Be there.

(May 24, 1998 6:32 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Listen carefully to this.
A farmer went out sowing. Some of
what he sowed landed on the footpath,
where the birds came along and ate it.
Some of the seed landed on rocky ground
where it had little soil; it sprouted
immediately because the soil had no
depth. Then, when the sun rose and
scorched it, it began to wither for lack
of roots. Again, some landed among thorns,
which grew up and choked it off, and
there was no yield of grain. Some seed,
finally, landed on good soil and yielded
grain that sprang up to produce at a rate
of thirty- and sixty- and a hundredfold."
Mark 4:3-8

If you could invest in the Stock Market
and get back 30 or 60 or 100 times
what you put in,
that would be amazing.
That is what it is like when you read
the Bible or tell others about Jesus.
They receive the words of God
and grow and grow and grow.
That is new life.
They are different.
They are never the same again.
Their lives are filled with joy and peace.
Their chart keeps going up and up and up.
It is a sure thing.
You can't lose.
Check it out.
And then they tell others and...
the story goes on and on and on.
Is it too good to be true?
It is the truth.
Come and see.

(May 23, 1998 6:26 AM CDT)

Pray for Joe. His back is hurting.
Thanks.

"Then Jesus said to them,
'What little sense you have!
How slow you are to believe all
that the prophets have announced!
Did not the Messiah have to undergo
all this so as to enter into his glory?'
Beginning, then, with Moses and all
the prophets, he interpreted for them
every passage of Scripture which referred
to him. By now they were near the village
to which they were going, and he acted as
if he were going farther. But they pressed
him: 'Stay with us. It is nearly evening ---
the day is practically over.' So he
went in to stay with them."
Luke 24:25-29

Come, Lord Jesus.
Stay with us.
Be with us.
Teach us about yourself.
We are fascinated by what
you have to say.
Do not pass us by.
Our day is almost over.
Talk to us.
Comfort us.
Take us with you.
Give us faith to believe.
Give us common sense.
Open our eyes.
May we see the truth.

(May 22, 1998 6:19 AM CDT)

"Tell those who are rich in this world's
goods not to be proud, and not to
rely on so uncertain a thing as wealth.
Let them trust in the God who provides
us richly with all things for our use.
Charge them to do good, to be rich in
good works and generous, sharing what
they have. Thus will they build a
secure foundation for the future, for
receiving that life which is life indeed."
1 Timothy 6:17-19

Yes, Lord, we want life.
Give us new life.
We are dead in our sins.
Forgive us.
Make us whole.
Restore us.
Change us, Lord.
We are rich with many things.
Make us rich with heavenly things.
Help us to share our wealth.
Jesus, you died for us.
We say thank you.
You are so kind and merciful.
You want all of us to live.
Forgive our sins.

Forgive those who kill others.
They do not know what they are doing.
Change our nation, Lord.
Bring us all closer to you
and each other.
May the killings stop.
Hear our prayers.

(May 21, 1998 6:15 AM CDT)

"I lift up my eyes toward the mountains;
whence shall help come to me?
My help is from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
May he not suffer your foot to slip;
may he slumber not who guards you;
Indeed he neither slumbers nor sleeps,
the guardian of Israel.
The Lord is your guardian;
the Lord is your shade;
he is beside you at your right hand.
The sun shall not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will guard you from all evil;
he will guard your life.
The Lord will guard your coming and
your going, both now and forever."
Psalms 121:1-8

The Lord is your safety.
You have nothing to fear.
He is your defense.
He is your protection.
You will not slip.
He will catch you.
He will save you from all harm.
Jesus is your right hand man.
He is right there.
He will hold your hand.
Call on the name of Jesus.
He will not fail you.
He will save you.

(May 20, 1998 6:21 AM CDT)

Happy Birthday to my Mom today!
God bless you.

Jesus said,
"God so loved the world that he gave
his only Son, that whoever believes
in him may not die but may have
eternal life. God did not send the
Son into the world to condemn the
world, but that the world might be
saved through him."
John 3:16-17

Jesus loves you.
He died for you.
He gave up everything.
He became one of us.
He walked among us.
Come to him.
Follow him.
He knows the way.
He came to save you.
Do not be afraid.
He is peace and joy.
Give your heart to him.
Do you have peace in your life?
A bumper sticker saw recently said:
"No Jesus, no peace
Know Jesus, know peace"

(May 19, 1998 6:57 AM CDT)

"I charge you to keep God's command without
blame or reproach until our Lord Jesus
Christ shall appear. This appearance God
will bring to pass at his chosen time.
He is the blessed and only ruler, the
King of kings and Lord of lords who
alone has immortality and who dwells in
unapproachable light, whom no human
being has ever seen or can see. To him
be honor and everlasting rule! Amen."
1 Timothy 6:14-16

Lord Jesus, you are our King.
You are the only one.
We give praise to you today.
We pray for you to return soon.
We need you.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Come and change us.
You are the only one that can save us.
Make us to be your children.
Fill us with your love.
Thank you for giving your life for us.
We are eternally grateful.
Show us what is truly important.

(May 18, 1998 6:12 AM CDT)

Pray for Nicholas who broke his
arm a few days ago. Thanks.

"Man of God that you are, flee from
all this. Instead, seek after integrity,
piety, faith, love, steadfastness, and a
gentle spirit. Fight for the good fight of
faith. Take firm hold on everlasting life
to which you were called when, in the
presence of many witnesses, you made
your noble profession of faith. Before God,
who gives life to all, and before Christ
Jesus; who in bearing witness made his
nobel profession before Pontius Pilate."
1 Timothy 6:11-13

Flee from evil.
Come to Jesus for safety.
Be a person of integrity.
Stand fast.
Be a gentle spirit.
Fight for your faith.
Speak the truth.
Hold on to the promise of
everlasting life.
Before God make your profession
to be faithful.
Do what is right.
Who are you following?
Stay close to Jesus.
He will stay close to you.

(May 17, 1998 6:20 AM CDT)

"We brought nothing into this world,
nor have we the power to take
anything out. If we have food and
clothing, we have all that we need.
Those who want to be rich are
falling into temptation and a trap.
They are letting themselves be
captured by foolish and harmful desires
which drag men down to ruin and
destruction. The love of money is
the root of all evil. Some men in
their passion for it have strayed
from the faith, and have come to
grief amid great pain."
1 Timothy 6:7-10

All is gift.
You are blessed.
The Lord will give you
all that you need.
Do not be trapped
by the things of this world.
You are meant for the next world.
Do not stray from the faith.
Keep on the narrow road.
Jesus is your leader.
Follow him.
He cared about the forgotten people.
Be like him.
Be aware of evil.
Overcome evil.
Go in the name of Jesus.
Change your world.

(May 16, 1998 6:26 AM CDT)

Yesterday around 9:30 AM we had a
powerful storm go through Omaha .
The sky turned so dark that the
street lights turned on in downtown.
I went outside the building to get
a closer look.
This one guy standing next to me
remarked that it was like
the end of the world.
Later we found out that there were
very high winds that knocked over
at least 5 semi trucks on Interstate 80
east of Omaha. Many tree branches were
blown down, but no where as many at the
October 26, 1997 storm
.
There were two windows broken downtown
on revolving doors. I wonder why.
Lord, we pray for protection from the
storms.
Keep us safe, Lord Jesus.

"This explains why we work and struggle as
we do; our hopes are fixed on the living
God who is the savior of all men, but
especially of those who believe.
Such are the things you must urge and
teach. Let no one look down on you
because of your youth, but be a
continuing example of love, faith, and
purity to believers. Until I arrive,
devote yourself to the reading of Scripture,
to preaching and teaching. Do not neglect
the gift you received when, as a result
of prophecy, the presbyters laid their
hands on you."
1 Timothy 4:10-14

Continue your work.
Continue the struggle.
God is with you.
Our hope is in God.
He is living and true.
God loves you.
If you are young,
you will be misunderstood.
(Read what Roy had to say.)
Draw near to God.
No one may understand you,
but God understands.
Give him your problems.
You may think that you have
no friends.
Jesus is your best friend.
He has given you gifts.
You are blessed with many talents.
Be open to what God wants you
to do with your life.
You are blessed.
You are loved.

(May 15, 1998 6:13 AM CDT)

"And the truth is this:
'God is one. One also is the
mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus,
who gave himself as a
ransom for all.'
The truth was attested at the fitting
time. I have been made its herald
and apostle (believe me, I am not
lying but speak the truth),
the teacher of the nations in
the true faith."
1 Timothy 2:4-7

Jesus is the truth.
He was our ransom.
We are captives of sin.
Jesus will set you free.
You are to be a herald of good news.
Speak the truth.
There are so many lies.
Our God is the only one.
Seek the Lord.
Be faithful.
Believe Jesus.

(May 14, 1998 6:19 AM CDT)

"First of all, I urge that petitions,
prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving
be offered for all men, especially for
kings and those in authority, that we
may be able to lead undisturbed and
tranquil lives in perfect piety and
dignity. Prayer of this kind is good,
and God our savior is pleased with it,
for he wants all men to be saved and
come to know the truth."
1 Timothy 2:1-4

Let us pray for our leaders.
We pray for the leader of India .
Nuclear weapons is not the answer.
Jesus is the answer.
We pray for all elected people
that they will do the will of God.
We pray for peace in the world.
We pray for peace in our neighborhoods.
We pray that all people will share, so
that no one will be hungry or homeless.
Let us pray to know the truth.
Jesus is has come to save us.
We pray for holiness.
May all of us do what God asks of us.
Amen.

(May 13, 1998 6:12 AM CDT)

"After they had proclaimed the good
news in that town and made numerous
disciples, they retraced their steps
to Lystra and Iconium first, then
to Antioch. They gave their disciples
reassurances, and encouraged them to
persevere in the faith with this
instruction: 'We must undergo many
trials if we are to enter into the
reign of God.' In each church they
installed presbyters and, with prayer
and fasting, commended them to the
Lord in whom they had put their faith."
Acts 14:21-23

Today I reassure you that you
can place your trust in Jesus.
I ask Jesus to give you the
faith to persevere.
If we hold out to the end,
we will triumph.
I encourage you to tell others
of the good news.
Jesus is the answer.
I ask you to endure the trials
that come your way.
Be strong.
Call on Jesus.
He will see you through.
Be a person of prayer and fasting.
We have way too much.
Give up something that is not needed.
A new car or house is nice, but
they can be distractions.
Do not build up treasures on this earth.
Live a simple life.

(May 12, 1998 6:16 AM CDT)

This was the Good News reading just
a few minutes ago on KGBI for today.

"One thing I ask of the Lord;
this I seek:
To dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
That I may gaze on the loveliness
of the Lord and contemplate his temple.
For he will hide me in his abode
in the day of trouble;
He will conceal me in the shelter of his
tent, he will set me high upon a rock.
Even now my head is held high
above my enemies on every side.
And I will offer his tent sacrifices
with shouts of gladness;
I will sing and chant praise to the Lord."
Psalms 27:4-6

Yes, Lord, we want to dwell with you.
We want to be in your tent.
We long for you.
Take us away to a quiet place.
Fill our soul.
Be our strength.
Give us peace.
We love you, Lord Jesus.
You are everything to us.
You are our treasure.
We will follow you.
We sing for joy.
We praise your name.
Take us home to you one day.
All our days.

(May 11, 1998 6:22 AM CDT)

"I will extol you, O my God and King,
and I will bless your name
forever and ever.
Every day will I bless you,
and I will praise your name
forever and ever.
Great is the Lord and highly to be praised;
his greatness is unsearchable.
Generation after generation praises your
works and proclaims your might.
They speak of the splendor of your glorious
majesty and tell of your wondrous works."
Psalms 145:1-5

How wonderful you are, Lord.
You are fantastic.
We give praise and honor to you today.
We bow before you.
We worship you.
You are everything.
We thank you for making us.
We thank you for food to eat.
We thank you for our shelter.
We thank you for our families.
You are so good to us.
We bless your holy name, Jesus.
We praise you.

(May 10, 1998 6:07 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Do not let your hearts be troubled.
Have faith in God and faith in me.
In my Father's house there are many
dwelling places; otherwise, how
could I have told you that I was
going to prepare a place for you?
I am indeed going to prepare a
place for you, and then I shall come
back to take you with me, that
where I am you also may be. You know
the way that leads where I go."
John 14:1-4

Do not be worried.
Jesus will take care of you.
He loves you.
He is watching over you.
Jesus is the way.
Follow him.
He has prepared a place for you.
He wants you to be with him forever.
He will come back to rescue you.
He will not leave you alone.
Trust in him.
He is your only hope.

(May 9, 1998 6:29 AM CDT)

I was just watching the sun come
up over the horizon. It is an
amazing thing to see the
earth turning in space.

"Paul and Barnabas spent considerable
time there and spoke out fearlessly,
in complete reliance on the Lord.
He for his part confirmed the message
with his grace and caused signs
and wonders to be done at their hands."
Acts 14:3

Nothing is impossible for God.
He is the miracle worker.
I see a lot of impossible situations
around me.
We can't resolve them.
They overwhelm us.
We call on you, Lord Jesus.
Help us, Lord.
Give us your message of grace.
Show us wonders.
We give you the glory.
All good gifts come from heaven above.

This week I went to class to learn
about Java .
It is very hard for me to
understand it.
Pray for me.

(May 8, 1998 6:13 AM CDT)

Please, pray for Alberta.
She is in the hospital.
Thanks.

"On one occasion, while they were
engaged in the liturgy of the Lord
and were fasting, the Holy Spirit
spoke to them: 'Set apart Barnabas
and Saul for me to do the work for
which I have called them.' Then,
after they had fasted and prayed,
they imposed hands on them and
sent them off."
Acts 13:2-3

Do you ever pray?
Do you fast?
Do you talk to God?
Do you seek his ways?
He calls you to be set apart.
You are to be different.
You are to follow his lead.
You are to pray for others.
Come, Holy Spirit.
Come and enlighten us.
You are all wisdom and knowledge.
Show us the truth.
You have called us.
We are yours.
Send us.

(May 7, 1998 6:05 AM CDT)

"Once you spoke in a vision,
and to your faithful ones you said:
'On a champion I have placed a crown;
over the people I have set a youth.
I have found David, my servant;
with my holy oil I have anointed him,
That my hand may be always with him,
and that my arm may make him strong.
No enemy shall deceive him,
nor shall the wicked afflict him.'"
Psalms 89:20-23

May the Lord reveal his inner most
thoughts to us.
May we see his vision.
May we share his hope for the future.
The Lord anoint you.
The Lord be with you always.
May you be strong.
May you see clearly and
not be deceived.
The Lord Jesus bless you today.
Be a champion.

(May 6, 1998 5:55 AM CDT)

"The apostles returned to Jesus and
reported to him all that they had
done and what they had taught.
He said to them, 'Come by yourselves
to an out-of-the-way place and rest
a little.' People were coming and
going in great numbers, making it
impossible for them to so much as eat.
So Jesus and the apostles went off
in the boat by themselves to a deserted
place. People saw them leaving, and
many got to know about it. People from
all the towns hastened on foot to the
place, arriving ahead of them."
Mark 6:30-33

You are sent by Jesus.
You are to work in the field.
The harvest is great.
There are millions of people
coming and going.
At the end of the day you
are to give Jesus a report.
What did you do today?
There is time for rest.
Go on a retreat.
Get away.
Be renewed.
Seek Jesus.
He is here today.
Go and meet him.
Come and see.
Hasten to see him.

(May 5, 1998 6:18 AM CDT)

"Peter said,
'Jesus commissioned us to preach
to the people and to bear witness
that he is the one set apart
by God as judge of the living
and the dead. To him all the
prophets testify, saying that
everyone who believes in him
has forgiveness of sins through
his name.' Peter had not finished
these words when the Holy Spirit
descended upon all who were
listening to Peter's message."
Acts 10:42-44

You are sent.
You are given the Holy Spirit.
Go and proclaim the Good News.
You are forgiven.
Your life has been changed.
Tell others of the love of Jesus.
Faith comes by hearing.
How will they know
unless someone tells them?
Testify.

(May 4, 1998 6:29 AM CDT)

This morning I received a chain letter
about a little girl that has cancer.
She has about 6 months to live.
So let's pray for her and her family.
Prayer changes things.

"One afternoon at about three Cornelius had
a vision in which he clearly saw a
messenger of God coming toward him and
calling, 'Cornelius!' He stared at the
sight and said in fear, 'What is it, sir?'
The answer came: 'Your prayers and your
generosity have risen in God's sight,
and because of them he has remembered you.
Send some men to Joppa and summon a
certain Simon, known as Peter."
Acts 10:3-5

Yes, the Lord calls you by name.
Over and over.
He is calling you.
Your prayers are heard.
Your giving to others is well noted.
The Lord is not out done in generosity.
He will bless you.
He sends you teachers and leaders.
Be open to the Holy Spirit.
Be inspired.
Do you see the vision?
The veil is very thin.

(May 3, 1998 6:34 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Again I tell you, if two of you
join your voices on earth to pray
for anything whatever, it shall
be granted you by my Father in
heaven. Where two or three are
gathered in my name, there am I
in their midst."
Matthew 18:19-20

Keep praying for Katie.
Let us join together in prayer
for her healing.
It will take a miracle.
The Lord hears our prayers.
He is always there.
He knows what we need before we ask.
Lord Jesus, hear our prayers.
Restore us to health.
Keep us safe from harm.
Be our protector.

(May 2, 1998 6:29 AM CDT)

Happy Birthday, Mary!
God bless you today.

"There was a disciple in Damascus
named Ananias to whom the Lord
had appeared in a vision.
'Ananias!' he said.
'Here I am, Lord,' came the
answer. The Lord said to him,
'Go at once to Straight Street,
and at the house of Judas ask for
a certain Saul of Tarsus.
He is there praying.'"
Acts 9:10-12

The Lord calls you by name.
He tells you to do something.
Do it at once.
He sends you to other people.
Go.
Be in prayer.
Follow the Lord's direction.
Listen.

"Be patient, therefore, my brothers,
until the coming of the Lord.
See how the farmer awaits the precious
yield of the soil. He looks forward
to it patiently while the soil
receives the winter and the spring
rains. You, too, must be patient.
Steady your hearts, because the coming
of the Lord is at hand."
James 5:7-8

Are you patient?
Do you plants seeds?
Is there growth in your life?
Receive the waters of life.
The Lord Jesus sends them to you.
Is your heart one with God?
Do you pray for Jesus to come again?
Are you ready to me him?
He will come again.
Be watchful.
Look forward.
