He is the holy one

(December 31, 2005 Sat 9:35 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"By patient endurance
you will save your lives."
Luke 21:19

Every day is important.
Each day counts.
Focus on that day.
Focus on what the Lord is asking of you.
Ask the Lord for the patience to follow him daily.
If you fail, get up and keep trying.
The Lord is there to help you.

(December 30, 2005 Fri 6:20 AM CST)

We won 32-28 .
Everyone in Nebraska should be happy today.

"Who has gone up to heaven and come down again ---
who has cupped the wind in his hands?
Who has bound up the waters in a cloak ---
who has marked out all the ends of the earth?
What is his name, what is his son's name,
if you know it?"
Proverbs 30:4

Read Proverbs chapter 30.
He came to earth.
He controls the wind and the sea.
He sees the entire earth and all that is in it.
He is the Son of God.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

The angel said to the shepherds:
"You have nothing to fear!
I come to proclaim good news to you ---
tidings of great joy
to be shared by the whole people.
This day in David's city
a savior has been born to you,
the Messiah and Lord.
Let this be a sign to you:
in a manger you will find an infant
wrapped in swaddling clothes."
Luke 2:10-12

Run and see.
Hurry.
The baby has been born.
Go and see him and his parents.
Search for him right away.
Go see him for yourself.
See him with your own eyes.
It is the birthday of our Savior.

(December 24, 2005 Sat 6:30 AM CST)

I just went outside to get the newspaper.
It is overcast with lots of clouds.
It feels warm.
37 F degrees and 93% humidity.

Yesterday I was watching this video called
The Hope .
It is the story of salvation in the Bible.

"For lack of wood,
the fire dies out..."
Proverbs 26:20

Read Proverbs chapter 26.
Jesus is your source.
He will keep you going.
He is the hope of the world.
He is the fire in life.
He was there in the burning bush with Moses.
He was a pillar of fire in the desert at night
for the Israelites.
He was there on Pentecost Day with tongues of fire
over the apostles.
Don't let the light die out.
Keep the fire burning.

Yesterday at about 4:30 PM near 42nd and Dewey in Omaha
I was talking to the pastor of a new church
to be built at 192nd and Giles in Sarpy County.
I asked him how the construction was going.
Was there a steel structure?
He said it was still a cornfield.
So pray for him and their church
to get off the ground and get going.

"By wisdom is a house built,
by understanding is it made firm;
And by knowledge are its rooms filled
with every precious and pleasing possession."
Proverbs 24:3-4

We pray for a church to be built.
May it be built on the rock of Jesus Christ.
He is the builder.
He is the architect.
Jesus, help build this church.
We need you.

(December 21, 2005 Wed 6:23 AM CST)

Pray for a relative of mine that is in the hospital.
My Mom and I went to see him last night.
God be with him and bless his family.
God bless the doctors, nurses and others
that work at the hospital.

Driving to the SFH yesterday at about 1:50 PM
I saw this license plate that said "Seek God"
at 52nd and Dodge Streets.
Very good.

A few minutes before that
at 88th and Dodge I saw "Santa Claus" driving
a convertible with the top down and
it was 32 F degrees at the time.

"Apply your heart to instruction,
and your ears to words of knowledge."
Proverbs 23:12

Read Proverbs chapter 23.
You are in school.
It is a time to study.
We are built by God to learn.
We want more knowledge.
Study.
Yes, seek God.

(December 20, 2005 Tue 6:22 AM CST)

The rebate from Western Digital arrived on December 16
at my house and my Mom's house.
That was 3 months.

Last night I was talking to a friend at the Westroads Mall.
Would you pray for her?
She burned her left hand cooking.
It was all taped up.
God be with her and heal her hand.

and apply your heart to my doctrine."

Feed your soul good things.

in their own eyes,
but it is the Lord who proves hearts."
Proverbs 21:2

Turn to him when you are lost.
He is there to help you every step of the way.

(December 18, 2005 Sun 6:41 AM CST)

Yesterday I was reading about
Carson Williams of Mason, Ohio .
He is the guy behind the Christmas lights and TSO music video
I told you about on November 29th.
You can watch a video on this link of him
on the "Today" morning program being interviewed
on December 5 with Matt Lauer.
Click to the left of "TV Interview with Carson Williams
(The Today Show)" to watch it.

If God had a radio station,
he would dedicate a song to you.
Something like this song by R.E.M. from 1987.
"This one goes out to the one I love" .
Click on the 3rd picture on the second line to
see/hear a sample of the song.
God loves you very much!

What is your Turkish Delight?

"Many are the plans in a man's/woman's heart,
but it is the decision of the Lord that endures."
Proverbs 19:21

Read Proverbs chapter 19.
You have all these ideas.
You have all these plans.
Are they from the Lord?
Are they what God wants for your life?
Seek the Lord.
He has the right decisions.
He is your guide.
He will endure forever.

(December 16, 2005 Fri 6:31 AM CST)

Last night we had our Bible Study conference call for 2 hours.
At one point we lost someone and had to add them back on.
We talked about Chapter 7 on the prophets
in the book
"Knowing the Bible 101" .
We even talked about my favorite book
in the Bible... Daniel

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the just man/woman runs to it and is safe."
Proverbs 18:10

Read Proverbs chapter 18.
Call on the name of Jesus.
Jesus, come and save me.
I need you.
Come and rescue me.
You are my hope.
Be with me.
Help me get connected again,
if I ever get lost.

(December 15, 2005 Thu 6:22 AM CST)

(December 14, 2005 Wed 6:21 AM CST)

In my new work location there are no windows near me.
I have no idea if it is day or night
or raining or sunny.
I have to get up and walk a little ways
to check out what is happening outside.

"Entrust your works to the Lord
and your plans will succeed."
Proverbs 16:3

Read Proverbs chapter 16.
Seek the Lord for guidance.
Ask him for help to know the way.
Offer up your work to the Lord.
Ask him to bless your efforts.
Success is found in knowing Jesus.
He is your window.

(December 13, 2005 Tue 6:13 AM CST)

Today is moving day.
Back to 19th street.
God bless the workers moving us
to another office building this morning.

This is highlighted in my Bible.

"A soothing tongue is a tree of life,
and a perverse one crushes the spirit."
Proverbs 15:4

Read Proverbs chapter 15.
Russell Sage talked about this back on October 9, 2005 .

Bless the Lord.
Worship him.

(December 12, 2005 Mon 6:21 AM CST)

We had a Christmas party for SFH last night.
That was nice.

(Update at 9:04 AM:

I just listened to the message from TC
on 12/04/05.
I mean... WOW... really... I am just in awe...
the message blew me away...
take a listen to what Pastor Les
had to say on this link above...

)

Billy Graham has a TV program tonight
in Omaha on channel 3 KMTV CBS at 6:00 PM.
Check your city for TV listings on the link above.

The other day Dr. Barnard said I was dismissed.
My bottom teeth are back in place.
I don't need to see him anymore
unless I need more adjustments.
He said to keep wearing the retainer
every two or three days instead of every night.
As I left the receptionist said
to have a wonderful life.
Bye.
I first went to see Dr. Barnard on March 18th, 2004.
About 21 months.

"From the fruit of their words
a person has their fill of good things,
and the work of their hands
comes back to reward them."
Proverbs 12:14

Read Proverbs chapter 12.
Use your words to bless others.
Encourage them.
Build them up.
Your fruit will come back to you.

(December 9, 2005 Fri 6:33 AM CST)

"He/she who trusts in their riches will fall,
but like green leaves the just flourish."
Proverbs 11:28

Read Proverbs chapter 11.
Riches can be a distraction.
They will distract you from the Lord.
You have too many things to worry about.
Focus on the Lord Jesus.
Then you will flourish.
Be green.

(December 8, 2005 Thu 6:22 AM CST)

"The Lord is a stronghold
to him/her who walks honestly..."
Proverbs 10:29

Read Proverbs chapter 10.
Be secure in the Lord.
He is your refuge.
He is your strength.
He is the truth.
Be honest.

(December 7, 2005 Wed 6:27 AM CST)

This morning I have to go see Dr. Barnard.
God bless him and everyone that works in his office.

I was the stamp man last night at SFH.
I put about 150 stamps on envelopes to be mailed out.
We lost one of the people that usually help us
on Tuesday nights.
Pray for God to find someone else to help us.

"The beginning of wisdom
is the fear of the Lord,
and knowledge of the Holy One
is understanding."
Proverbs 9:10

Read Proverbs chapter 9.
Have great respect for the Lord.
Honor him.
Wisdom will come in time.
Seek to know all you can about him.
Then you will understand.

(December 6, 2005 Tue 6:26 AM CST)

It is negative 6 F degrees outside.
It is a little cold out there.

"For he/she who finds me finds life,
and wins favor from the Lord..."
Proverbs 8:35

Read Proverbs chapter 8.
Find wisdom.
Find wisdom from God.
You need it.
Find life.
Find favor from the Lord.

(December 5, 2005 Mon 6:19 AM CST)

Happy Birthday, John!
God bless you and your family!

"My son/daughter, keep my words,
and treasure my commands.
Keep my commands and live,
my teaching as the apple of your eye;
bind them on your fingers,
write them on the tablet of your heart."
Proverbs 7:1-3

Read Proverbs chapter 7.
Read the words of the Lord in the Bible.
Treasure them.
Write the words down on 4 by 6 cards
to read them around your house or work or school.
Your heart will be changed little by little.
You will find life and peace.

(December 4, 2005 Sun 6:32 AM CST)

A Christmas tree is decorated at SFH.
It was a team effort.
It is a snowman tree with white lights.
Tony told us how to make the sets of lights blink.
You change one key light with a special light
and then that set blinks.
I did not know that.

On Friday the Bach organ music CD arrived in the mail,
but I don't need it.
The old CD is still working/playing right now.
I have an extra CD if anyone wants it.

Last night I watched the movie on TV named
Bruce Almighty .
The film is not for kids to watch.
There are some interesting points that the movie makes.
One point is that God can't make you love him.
He created you and you have a free will.
It is up to you, if you want to love him in return.
You can't make someone love you.
Another scene has Bruce say "Yes" to all
the prayer requests (over 3 million in Buffalo)
being made of God.
As a result many people win the lottery.
Do we really know what we want?
What really is best for us?
God usually says "No," so we can grow.
He knows what is best for us.
It is for our good.
Pray for him to give you what you need.

"Go to the ant...
study her ways and learn wisdom;
For though she has no chief
no commander or ruler,
She procures her food in the summer,
stores up her provisions in the harvest."
Proverbs 6:6-8

Read Proverbs chapter 6.
Plan ahead.
Work hard.
Don't sleep all the time.
Do the work of the Lord.
You will be blessed.

(December 3, 2005 Sat 7:08 AM CST)

It looks like more snow is coming our way this morning.

I read in the newspaper last night that
there were 3 record highs in November in Omaha.
November 2 with 82 F degrees.
November 12 with 74 F degrees.
November 23 with 63 F degrees.

Luis Palau has a special TV program tomorrow in Omaha.
It is titled "Living It: Unusual Suspects" .
It is on Channel 7 KETV (ABC) at 3:30 PM tomorrow December 4th.
Also, WGN at 8 AM CST December 4th.
It is on many other stations.
I heard about it on a Christian radio station
and saw it advertised in the newspaper last light.

The snow has arrived (8:02 AM).

Today I'm going to the Siena / Francis House
to help them decorate the place for Christmas.

"For each man's/woman's ways are plain
to the Lord's sight;
all their paths he surveys..."
Proverbs 5:21

Read Proverbs chapter 5.
Do what is right and pleasing to the Lord.
Walk in his ways.
He is watching you and encouraging you to greatness.
Stay near to the Lord.

(December 2, 2005 Fri 6:26 AM CST)

(Update at 10:11 AM:

Here is a fictional Thanksgiving story
that someone sent me.
The Folded Napkin .

)

We had a Bible Study conference call
last night for about 2 hours.
We are studying these books:
Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs.
That is how I got started with reading Proverbs with week.

"With closest custody, guard your heart,
for in it are the sources of life."
Proverbs 4:23

Read Proverbs chapter 4.
Have a pure heart.
May your heart be one with Jesus.
He is your source of joy.
Give your heart to him.

(December 1, 2005 Thu 6:21 AM CST)

Yep, time to flip the page on my 3 calendars
around the house this morning.

That stock I told you about went up yesterday 1.35%,
so that is 9 of 11 times (82%) to the up side
on the last trading day of the month.

We received more snow last night,
so I will get out the snow shovel
after I get done writing this.

Here is an often quoted Proverb...

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
on your own intelligence rely not;
In all your ways be mindful of him,
and he will make straight your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

Read Proverbs chapter 3.
We don't know it all.
We think we do, but we don't.
We need to trust the Lord with all our heart.
We need to look to him for the way to go.
He will bless us.
He will show us the path to life.
