Tomorrow is Easter.
Today we wait and wonder.
The first disciples also waited.
They did not know that Easter was tomorrow.
They could not understand why Jesus had to die.
Why?
He had the power to do about anything.
He calmed the storm on the sea.
He raised people from the dead.
He gave sight to the blind.
They wondered.
They waited.
There is a mystery to God.
Why does he do things a certain way?
"My thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways,
says the Lord."
Isaiah 55:8

Why were you born?
You are here for a reason.
You are here for a purpose.
God is calling you.
Spend some time today wondering...
and waiting.

It is Good Friday today.
We remember that Jesus suffered and died on the cross.
Why do they call it 'good' if Jesus died?
He died, so that you could live.
He conquered sin and death.
We no longer have to fear death.
Jesus has given us eternal life.

Jesus said (from the cross),
"Father, forgive them;
they do not know what they are doing."
Luke 23:34

Today is Holy Thursday.
We remember Jesus at the Last Supper.
He said,
"Do this in remembrance of me."
Luke 22:19
I wonder sometimes about why Jesus had
to come to earth and suffer and die as he did.
Couldn't there have been some other way to
redeem the world from sin?
God must have wanted to show how much
he loves us.
He loved you and me that much---
that he died on the cross.
Thank you, Jesus.

Last night I took a drive west of Omaha to see the Hale-Bopp Comet .
Wow!
If you have not seen it yet, go out tonight at about 8 PM and just watch it in the northwest sky.
It is beautiful!
We thank you, Lord, for such a beautiful sight.
The tails keep changing patterns.

The big news in Omaha is that an Interstate 680 bridge was destroyed a few days ago. A truck carrying an 80,000 pound transformer was too tall for the bridge. The bridge was damaged so badly that they tore half of it down. It reminds me of the story I wrote titled "The Bridge is Out" .

Last night on NBC I watched the video of the gun battle at the bank in Los Angeles . Heaven help us. Pray that the violence will stop.

Today I'm going to work on my taxes. In the USA you need to fill out a tax statement by April 15th and send it to the IRS . This year I think I'm getting a refund.
