All you need is God's love
Pray for peace

Love comes from above

"Ticket To Heaven" (Currently in progress)

(September 30, 1997 6:30 AM CDT)

"My brother,
what good is it to profess faith
without practicing it?
Such faith has no power
to save one, has it?
If a brother or sister has nothing
to wear and no food for the day,
and you say to them,
'Good-bye and good luck!
Keep warm and well fed,'
but do not meet their bodily needs,
what good is that?
So it is with the faith
that does nothing in practice.
It is thoroughly lifeless."
James 2:14-17

Check around you.
There are people in need.
Reach out in love to them.
Is your faith alive?

(September 29, 1997 6:26 AM CDT)

"The Lord brings to nought
the plans of nations;
he foils the designs of peoples.
But the plan of the Lord stands forever;
the design of his heart,
through all generations.
Happy the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he has chosen
for his own inheritance."
Psalms 33:10-12

The Lord has a plan.
You are part of the plan.
You are to live with God forever.
Do you ever think about Jesus?
Get to know him.
Open your heart.

Let us fast and pray this week for our nation.
May the Lord have mercy on us.
Give up TV all week or
skip a meal one day or two.
Spend that extra time in prayer.

(September 28, 1997 7:17 AM CDT)

Last evening I watched the sunset from
102nd Street just north of the Westroads.
The clouds just kept changing colors
of orange, pink and red
and the big orange sun dropped below
the horizon in about 4 minutes at 7:10 PM.
Take a look at what God has made.
It is beautiful.

"May the Lord increase you and
make you overflow with love
for one another and for all,
even as our love does for you.
May he strengthen your hearts,
making them blameless and holy
before our God and Father
at the coming of our Lord Jesus
with all his holy ones."
1 Thessalonians 3:12-13

God give you strength for the journey.
God bless you with his love.
Be holy as the Lord is holy.
Prepare for the coming of the Lord.
Seek the Lord.
God give you peace.

On Saturday, October 4, 1997, there will be
thousands of people going to
Washington, D.C. to attend the
Promise Keepers prayer service for repentence.
It is called "Stand in the Gap" .
Pray for them all this week and
listen on the radio or watch on TV.

Let us pray for the USA.

(September 27, 1997 6:24 AM CDT)

"For this reason,
I remind you to stir into flame
the gift of God bestowed when
my hands were laid on you.
The Spirit God has given us
is no cowardly spirit,
but rather one that make us
strong, loving, and wise.
Therefore, never be ashamed
of your testimony to our Lord;
but with the strength
which comes from God
bear your share of the hardship
which the gospel entails."
2 Timothy 1:6-8

Never hesitate to share your faith
in Jesus.
The Holy Spirit will give you
the words to say when you need them.
You are strong in the Spirit.
With the Spirit you can love.
Call on the Spirit for wisdom.
Share the gift.

(September 26, 1997 6:17 AM CDT)

"A discussion arose among them as to
which of them was the greatest.
Jesus, who knew their thoughts,
took a little child
and placed it beside him,
after which he said to them,
'Whoever welcomes this little child
on my account welcomes me,
and whoever welcomes me
welcomes him who sent me;
for the least one among
you is the greatest.'"
Luke 9:46-48

Jesus knows what you are thinking.
Do you think you are the greatest?
Are you better than others?
Let us be humble.
Let us live a simple life.
Let us serve each other.
We all need each other.
Let us help each other.
We are all sinners.
Call on the mercy of God.
Lord, help us.
Forgive our sins.

(September 25, 1997 6:27 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Be sure of this:
if the owner of the house knew when
the thief was coming he would keep
a watchful eye and not allow his
house to be broken into. You must
be prepared in the same way. The
Son of Man is coming at the time
you least expect."
Matthew 24:43-44

The Lord could come at any moment.
Are you prepared to meet him?
Welcome him.
Prepare your heart.
Keep him in your mind.
Think of Jesus during the day.
Tell him that you love him.
Jesus, I love you.
Come into my heart.

(September 24, 1997 6:19 AM CDT)

"God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him
may not die
but may have eternal life."
John 3:16

God loves you.
He died for you.
He loved you that much.
He gave his life so that you could live.
Read the Bible daily.
This is God's love letter to you.
Start with one of the Gospels:
Matthew
Mark
Luke
John
Read a chapter each day.

(September 23, 1997 6:25 AM CDT)

"Each one of you is a son of God
because of your faith in Christ Jesus.
All of you who have been baptized
into Christ have clothed yourselves
with him."
Galatians 3:26-27

If you have been baptized,
you are a child of God.
You are special.
You are a part of the body of Christ.
You are called to great things.
Live for the Lord.
Love the Lord.
Sing praise to God.
Give glory to the Father.
We are his.
His we are.

(September 22, 1997 6:24 AM CDT)

"When the Lord brought back
the captives of Zion,
we were like men dreaming.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with rejoicing.
Then they said among the nations,
'The Lord has done great things for them.'
The Lord has done great things for us;
we are glad indeed."
Psalms 126:1-3

The Lord has done wonderful things for us.
He is awesome.
He is an awesome God.

Rich Mullins died a few days ago.
He was a Christian songwriter.
He went home.

(September 21, 1997 7:21 AM CDT)

Happy Birthday, Matthew.
God bless you!

"Know that the Lord is God;
he made us, his we are;
his people, the flock he tends.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him;
bless his name, for he is good:
the Lord, whose kindness endures forever,
and his faithfulness, to all generations."
Psalms 100:3-4

We thank you Lord for your creation.
We thank you for making us.
We thank you for each other.
Thanks for your kindness.
Generation after generation gives you praise.
You are faithful and holy.
We praise your name.

It's getting colder here in Omaha .
I think today or tomorrow the sun
will rise due east and set due west.
This makes if difficult to drive your
car east and west directly into the sunlight.
The light is blinding at times.

(September 20, 1997 6:28 AM CDT)

Jesus called his disciples to him and said:
"My heart is moved with pity for the crowd.
By now they have been with me three days,
and have nothing to eat.
I do not wish to send them away hungry,
for fear they may collapse on the way."
Matthew 15:32

Jesus will give you the food for your journey.
You will not collapse.
He will give you the bread of life.
He will provide your strength.
Trust in the Lord.
He is all you need.

(September 19, 1997 6:20 AM CDT)

"We have come to know and to believe
in the love God has for us.
God is love,
and he who abides in love
abides in God,
and God in him."
1 John 4:16

God loves you.
The love of God abides in you.
Love God.
Love one another.
Love your enemies.
Forgive.
Think about others.

(September 18, 1997 6:34 AM CDT)

"The love of money
is the root of all evil.
Some men in their passion for it
have strayed from the faith,
and have come to grief amid great pain."
1 Timothy 6:10

Money has its place.
It is to help us and others.
We are to use it wisely.
We are to share.
We are not to hold on to it.
It will choke us.
Give to the poor.
Share the gift that God has given you.

I was at the Westroads yesterday with
3 friends. I saw a teenager that had
a white T-shirt that said "REPENT" in red
letters on the back of it.
Yes, we need to repent.
Amen.

(September 17, 1997 6:21 AM CDT)

Today is the day students gather at
their flag pole to pray.
Let us pray also for them
and their teachers.
The event is called
See You At The Pole .

(September 16, 1997 6:24 AM CDT)

"Blessed be the Lord,
for he has heard the sound
of my pleading;
the Lord is my strength
and my shield.
In him my heart trusts,
and I find help;
then my heart exults,
and with my song
I give him thanks."
Psalms 28:6-7

I heard this on the radio 2 days ago.
There is a story about a doctor on the way
to the hospital for an emergency.
He had to get there right away for surgery.
On his way his car was car-jacked.
He pleaded that he had to get to the
hospital, but the man would hear nothing of it.
The man took his car and sped off.
The doctor somehow made it to the hospital,
but it was too late. The nurse was asking him
why he was late. He tried to get there on time,
but his car was stolen from him. Then the doctor was
told that the boy had died. Who would tell
his Dad the sad news? The doctor said he would
talk to the man.
The doctor went out to the waiting room.
The two men had met before.
They knew each other.
The boy's Dad was the same man that had stolen
the doctor's car.

(September 15, 1997 6:24 AM CDT)

Jesus then said to her,
"Your sins are forgiven."
Luke 7:48

We are all sinners.
We all fall short of the glory of God.
We need forgiveness.
Ask Jesus to forgive your sins.
It is that simple.
Change your life.
Live for Jesus.
Seek after the things that
are out of this world.
Give your heart to Jesus every morning.

(September 14, 1997 7:38 AM CDT)

"To the King of ages,
the immortal,
the invisible,
the only God,
be honor and glory
forever and ever!
Amen."
1 Timothy 1:17

We give praise to almighty God today.
We praise his holy name.
How wonderful you are.
You are awesome.
We praise you for your creation.
Your stars shine bright.
Thank you for being faithful.

(September 13, 1997 9:02 AM CDT)

"Happy is he who has regard
for the lowly and the poor;
in the day of misfortune
the Lord will deliver him."
Psalms 41:2

Today is the funeral of
Mother Teresa .
She heard the call of the Lord
on September 10, 1946 to help the poor.
Do you hear anything?

(September 12, 1997 6:22 AM CDT)

"Because you are God's chosen ones,
holy and beloved,
clothe yourselves with heartfelt mercy,
with kindness, humility, meekness and patience.
Bear with one another;
forgive whatever grievances your have
against one another.
Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you.
Over all these virtues put on love,
which binds the rest together
and makes them perfect."
Colossians 3:12-14

Lord, help us to live as you want us to live.
Help us to love.
Give us humility.
Send us meekness.
Help us be patient.
Give us strength to do your will.

(September 11, 1997 6:18 AM CDT)

"The Lord is faithful in all his words
and holy in all his works.
The Lord lifts up all who are falling
and raises up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look hopefully to you,
and you give them their food in due season;
You open your hand
and satisfy the desire of every living thing."
Psalms 145:13-16

We give praise to you today, Lord.
You are so wonderful.
Thank you for the food we eat.
Thank you for lifting us up.
We thank you for the beautiful weather lately.

The Monarch butterflies are passing through
Nebraska now on the way to Mexico.
They are beautiful.

(September 10, 1997 6:25 AM CDT)

"We know that God makes all things work together
for the good of those who love God
and are called according to his decree."
Romans 8:28

You are called.
You are a son or daughter of God.
God has made you.
You belong with him.
Lift up your efforts to Jesus today.
Ask him to bless your work and studies.
May we learn eternal truth today.
God loves you.
All things work together,
if you believe and trust.

(September 9, 1997 6:25 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"One day a farmer went out sowing.
Part of what he sowed landed on a footpath,
where birds came and ate it up.
Part of it fell on rocky ground,
where it had little soil.
It sprouted at once since the soil had no depth,
but when the sun rose and scorched it,
it began to wither for lack of roots.
Again, part of the seed fell among thorns,
which grew up and choked it.
Part of it, finally, landed on good soil
and yielded grain a 100- or 60- or 30-fold.
Let everyone heed what he hears!"
Matthew 13:4-9

Jesus told many stories.
Why?
Why not?

(September 8, 1997 6:23 AM CDT)

"Then Jesus went out to the mountain to pray,
spending the night in communion with God.
At daybreak he called his disciples
and selected twelve of them
to be his apostles."
Luke 6:12-13

Jesus spent time in pray.
We should pray, also.
We need that communion
with God each day.
Talk to him and listen.
Be still.
This is the one that made the universe.
He is the one and only.
Give praise to him.
Before you make a big decision,
do you pray?

(September 7, 1997 7:37 AM CDT)

Mother Teresa died a few days ago.
She was a woman of God.
Let us remember her by remembering
the poor and needy in our midst.
Let us pray for an end to abortion.
Pray for strength to live a holy life.
We are called to be holy.

"You are
'a chosen race,
a royal priesthood,
a holy nation,
a people he claims for his own
to proclaim the glorious works'
of the One who called you
from darkness into his marvelous light.
Once you were no people,
but now you are God's people;
once there was no mercy for you,
but now you have found mercy."
1 Peter 2:9-10

(September 6, 1997 6:31 AM CDT)

I can hear the bells of Westminster Abbey
on the TV in the other room.
It is the funeral of Diana Spencer.
They read the following during the service:

"Love is patient;
love is kind.
Love is not jealous,
it does not put on airs,
it is not snobbish.
Love is never rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not prone to anger;
neither does it brood over injuries.
Love does not rejoice in what is wrong
but rejoices with the truth.
There is no limit to love's forbearance,
to its trust,
its hope,
its power to endure."
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

(September 5, 1997 6:28 AM CDT)

"This is what we proclaim to you;
what was from the beginning,
what we have heard,
what we have seen with our eyes,
what we have looked upon
and our hands have touched ---
we speak of the word of life."
1 John 1:1

You have seen it, also.
God is alive.
He is all around you.
The sunset last night was awesome.
He is there.
He is calling you.
Come and see.
Read the words of life in the Bible .
It is God's love just for you.

(September 4, 1997 6:28 AM CDT)

"By the might of his glory
you will be endowed with the
strength needed to stand fast,
even to endure joyfully whatever may come,
giving thanks to the Father for having
made you worthy to share the
lot of the saints in light.
He rescued us from the power of darkness
and brought us into the kingdom
of his beloved Son.
Through him we have redemption,
the forgiveness of our sins."
Colossians 1:11-14

We have been given so much.
We are blessed.
The Lord is so good to us.
We give praise and thanks to him.
Stand for what you believe.
Live with God's love.
Ask Jesus to forgive your sins.
It is a gift.
Receive the gift.

(September 3, 1997 6:30 AM CDT)

"O Lord,
hear my prayer;
hearken to my pleading
in your faithfulness;
in your justice answer me."
Psalms 143:1

Have faith.
Pray with confidence.
The Lord hears your prayer.
He will answer your prayer.
God's timing is perfect.
He knows exactly what you need.
He knows what is best for you.
Pray and expect great things.

The flooding is over for the moment.
Thanks for the prayers.
I saw a lot of water going down
the creek yesterday.
It was a little scary.

(September 2, 1997 6:35 AM CDT)

Overnight in Omaha we have
a lot of rain
(3 to 5 inches),
so pray we don't have flooding.
Thanks.

"Be on your guard lest you be led astray
by the error of the wicked,
and forfeit the security you enjoy.
Grow rather in grace, and in the knowledge
of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Glory be to him now and
to the day of eternity!
Amen."
2 Peter 3:17-18

I pray that grace will more and more
abound in your life.
Study the Bible.
Pray for knowledge and understanding.
You will be led by the Holy Spirit.

(September 1, 1997 7:47 AM CDT)
