March 1 to 31, 1998

Let all that is in me praise the Lord
"Return to me" says the Lord

Be forgiven

Love the Lord

Seek his wisdom

Receive his grace

(March 31, 1998 6:25 AM CST)

"I will give thanks to you, O Lord,
with all my heart, for you have
heard the words of my mouth;
in the presence of the angels
I will sing your praise;
I will worship at your holy temple
and give thanks to your name,
Because of your kindness and your truth;
for you have made great above all things
your name and your promise.
When I called, you answered me;
you built up strength within me."
Psalms 138:1-3

Praise the Lord!
We thank you, Lord.
We sing for joy.
We call to you.
You save us.
You give us strength.
We worship you.
We praise your name, Jesus.
You are the truth.
You are kind.
Thank you for your promises.
You are faithful.
You are wonderful.
We give praise to you.

(March 30, 1998 6:24 AM CST)

We thank the Lord for the beautiful
weather in Omaha
the last few days.
It is springtime.

"...let us draw near in utter sincerity
and absolute confidence,
our hearts sprinkled clean from
the evil which lay on our conscience and
our bodies washed in pure water.
Let us hold unswervingly to our profession
which gives us hope, for he who
made the promise deserves our trust.
We must consider how to rouse each other
to love and good deeds.
We should not absent ourselves from the
assembly, as some do, but encourage one
another; and this all the more because
you see that the Day draws near."
Hebrews 10:22-25

Be washed in pure water.
Have your sins forgiven.
Love.
Perform good deeds.
God has promised.
Have confidence.
Attend church.
Trust.
Encourage others.
What is "The Day"?
Be prepared.

(March 29, 1998 7:06 AM CST)

"As the hind longs for the running waters,
so my soul longs for you, O God.
Athirst is my soul for God,
the living God.
When shall I go and
behold the face of God?"
Psalms 42:1-3

There is a longing in my heart.
It can only be filled by God.
Money and things do not satisfy.
People do not satisfy.
Food does not satisfy.
Their effect is only for a short time.
The soul longs for eternal things.
These are things out of this world.
Only the Lord Jesus can fill
your empty heart.
Search and search and search...
only Jesus will fill your longing.
Let your search end today.
Jesus, come and fill my heart.

Yesterday I went on a ride to
visit the St. Benedict Center .
It is 4 miles north of
Schuyler, Nebraska USA .
It is a place for Christian retreats.
It is a beautiful setting.
It is about 60 miles northwest of
Omaha, Nebraska USA .

(March 28, 1998 6:27 AM CST)

"Jesus said to them,
'Why are you sleeping?
Wake up, and pray that you
may not be subjected to the trial.'
While he was still speaking a crowd came,
led by the man named Judas,
one of the twelve.
He approached Jesus to embrace him.
Jesus said to him,
'Judas, would you betray
the Son of Man with a kiss?'"
Luke 22:46-48

Are you awake?
Are you asleep?
Are you praying?
Are you faithful to the call?
Do you even hear the call?
Are you on the side of Jesus
or do you betray him?
I pray that you will hear
the call of the Lord
and be faithful.

(March 27, 1998 6:27 AM CST)

"Just as it is appointed that men die once,
and after death be judged,
so Christ was offered up once to take
away the sins of many; he will appear
a second time not to take away sin
but to bring salvation to those
who eagerly await him."
Hebrews 9:27-28

Come Lord Jesus.
We wait for you.
Come and save us.
Thank you for dying for us.
Thank you for overcoming death.
Thank you for your love.
Our hope is in you.
Forgive all those who are killing each other
for they know not what they are doing.
Forgive our nation, Lord.
We have sinned.
Help us to love each other.

(March 26, 1998 6:31 AM CST)

"I have waited, waited for the Lord,
and he stooped toward me
and heard my cry.
He drew me out of the pit of destruction,
out of the mud of the swamp;
He set my feet upon a crag;
he made firm my steps.
And he put a new song into my mouth,
a hymn to our God.
Many shall look on in awe
and trust in the Lord."
Psalms 40:1-4

The Lord hears your cry.
He comes down to where you are
and picks you up.
He loves you.
He will rescue you from destruction.
You are on the Titanic.
It is sinking.
There are no lifeboats left.
You are faced with certain death.
All your money will not save you.
What do you do?
Pray to God.
He will save you.
Jesus is the life (boat).
Call on his name.
Sing a new song.

(March 25, 1998 6:23 AM CST)

"Jesus has become the guarantee of a
better covenant. Under the old covenant
there were many priests because they
were prevented by death from remaining
in office; but Jesus, because he remains
forever, has a priesthood which does not
pass away. Therefore he is always able to
save those who approach God through him,
since he forever lives to
make intercession for them."
Hebrews 7:22-25

Jesus will be there forever.
He always was and will always be.
Call on the name of Jesus.
Jesus, have mercy on me.
Jesus, save me.
Forever.
He is alive.
Spring to life in 1998.
This is your year.
Live.

(March 24, 1998 6:30 AM CST)

"Lo, I am about to create new heavens
and a new earth;
The things of the past shall not be
remembered or come to mind.
Instead, there shall always be rejoicing
and happiness in what I create;
For I create Jerusalem to be a joy
and its people to be a delight;
I will rejoice in Jerusalem
and exult in my people.
No longer shall the sound of weeping be
heard there, or the sound of crying."
Isaiah 65:17-19

The Lord is a creator.
Each day is brand new.
Open your eyes and see
the wonder of God's creation.
Rejoice with the Lord.
Come with singing.
There is no need to cry anymore.
Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins.
Your past will be forgotten.
You can start again.
Today is a new day.
Be part of creation.

(March 23, 1998 6:28 AM CST)

"Jesus said to the one who had invited him:
'Whenever you give a lunch or dinner,
do not invite your friends or brothers
or relatives or wealthy neighbors.
They might invite you in return and
thus repay you. No, when you have a
reception, invite beggars and the crippled,
the lame and the blind. You should be
pleased that they cannot repay you,
for you will be repaid
in the resurrection of the just.'"
Luke 14:12-14

Do you ever think about the poor?
Do you think about those in hospitals?
Jesus says to invite them.
Do good to them.
Help them.
The Lord will repay you.

God bless you today.
The Lord be with you.
I ask the Lord to give you joy.
I ask him to show you his will.
He will help you every step of the way.

(March 22, 1998 6:44 AM CST)

Happy Birthday to Alice, yesterday.
God bless you.

"They even brought babies
to be touched by Jesus.
When the disciples saw this,
they scolded them soundly;
but Jesus called for the children, saying:
'Let the little children come to me.
Do not shut them off.
The reign of God belongs to such as these.
Trust me when I tell you that whoever
does not accept the kingdom of God as
a child will not enter into it.'"
Luke 18:15-17

To be touched by Jesus...
I ask Jesus to touch you today.
You may not even believe in God,
but I ask God to reach out to you today.
I'm praying for you.
I ask God to bless you,
as he did the little children.
I ask God to reveal the kingdom to you.
Open your eyes and see.
How wonderful is the Lord.
He is awesome.
Man makes a boat like the Titanic
and thinks it is such an achievement.
God makes a few billion galaxies .
Now that is something.
You may not understand today,
but someday you will.
There's only a few people still alive today
that were on the Titanic.
Many died in April of 1912 on that boat.
It sank to the bottom of the ocean.
It broke in two.
It was "unsinkable".
Maybe you think that you are "unsinkable".
Someday we will all die.
You will meet your maker.
He made you.
He made me.
Come.
Be touched.
Enter in.

(March 21, 1998 7:34 AM CST)

"Like a sure and firm anchor,
that hope extends beyond the veil
through which Jesus, our forerunner,
has entered on our behalf,
being made high priest forever
according to the order of Melchizedek."
Hebrews 6:19-20

Jesus is your hope.
He is your only hope.
You can't save yourself.
He is your anchor.
He will save you.
Come.
Enter in.
He has gone before you.
He has prepared the way.
Give your life to Jesus.
Forever.

Yesterday morning I was attacked by the
two little dogs next door again.
I was carrying a bag of newspapers
to the berm to recycle.
I thought the "mountains" of snow
would keep them away from me.
Not!
They came over the snow right up to me.
I kicked one away with my feet and
fell backwards into the snow.
Then the neighbor called the dogs
away from me and said he was sorry.
I had snow on my pants
and some snow got into my shoes.
My heart was racing.
Fight or flight reaction.
It happened so fast.
I got in my car
and was out of there very quickly.
I survived.
My socks were a little wet
when I got to work downtown.
God saved me again.
Back on May 5th, 1997
I was bitten by one of the dogs.
I wrote about it the next morning on
May 6th, 1997 .
I was not going to get bit again.
Now I need to forgive,
just as Jesus has forgiven me.
How many times should I forgive them?
What would you do?
Pray for my safety.
Thanks.

(March 20, 1998 6:14 AM CST)

"On the evening of the first day
of the week, even though the disciples
had locked the doors of the place
where they were for fear of the Jews,
Jesus came and stood before them.
'Peace be with you,' he said.
When he had said this, he showed
them his hands and his side.
At the sight of the Lord
the disciples rejoiced.
'Peace be with you,' he said again."
John 20:19-21

Jesus died.
No one expected to see him ever again.
And yet he appeared to his disciples.
He rose from the dead.
Amazing!
He is more powerful than death.
He wished them peace over and over.
He offers you peace and joy.
Sin has locked you up.
You are hiding.
You are living in fear.
Jesus comes today to set you free.
Unlock the door.
Welcome Jesus in.
Ask him to forgive your sins.
Be healed.
Rejoice.
He says, "Peace be with you."

(March 19, 1998 6:26 AM CST)

"Now, Israel, hear the statutes and decrees
which I am teaching you to observe,
that you may live, and may enter in
and take possession of the land
which the Lord, the God of your fathers,
is giving you."
Deuteronomy 4:1

The Lord offers you life.
He tells you to "enter in".
He tells you to take possession.
Can you receive this?
Can you open your hands?
Do you hear the commands of the Lord?
Our lives would be much more simple,
if we would do as God says.
If there was no sin...
(you complete the sentence.)

(March 18, 1998 6:12 AM CST)

"Bless the Lord, O my soul;
and all my being, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul;
and forget not all his benefits.
He pardons all your iniquities,
he heals all your ills.
He redeems your life from destruction,
he crowns you with kindness and compassion.
He fills your lifetime with good;
your youth is renewed like the eagle's."
Psalms 103:1-5

Give praise to the Lord.
He created you.
He forgives you.
He heals you.
He has saved you from destruction.
He is kind and merciful.
He will renew your life.
You will be changed.
Each day is an adventure.
Walk with the Lord.
Give praise to his holy name.

(March 17, 1998 6:26 AM CST)

Jesus called his disciples over
and told them: "I want you to observe
that this poor widow contributed more
than all the others who donated to the
treasury. They gave from their surplus
wealth, but she gave from her want;
all that she had to live on."
Mark 12:43-44

Lord Jesus, teach us how to be generous.
Show us how to give and give.
Be our guide.
Help us to let go of material things
and money.
Help us to trust in you.
You are our source.
You are our strength.
We thank you, Lord, for all your gifts.

(March 16, 1998 6:33 AM CST)

"Since, then, we have a great high priest
who has passed through the heavens, Jesus,
the Son of God, let us hold fast
to our profession of faith.
For we do not have a high priest
who is unable to sympathize with our weakness,
but one who was tempted in every way
that we are, yet never sinned.
So let us confidently approach the throne
of grace to receive mercy and favor
and to find help in time of need."
Hebrews 4:14-16

Turn to Jesus.
He will help you.
He is the Son of God.
He is God.
He is mercy and forgiveness.
He was tempted as we are,
but never sinned.
He was sinless, but died for us.
He loves you that much.
Hold fast to your faith.
Be holy.
Be a witness.

(March 15, 1998 6:50 AM CST)

Jesus said,
"The exact time is not yours to know.
The Father has reserved that to himself.
You will receive power when the
Holy Spirit comes down on you;
then you are to be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
throughout Judea and Samaria, yes,
even to the ends of the earth."
Acts 1:7-8

Jesus will return again one day.
It could be today or
1,000 years from today.
The idea is to be prepared.
You do not know the day.
Are you ready to meet the Lord?
Have you done all that you can?
Work.
Pray.
I pray for the Holy Spirit to come
down on every person in the world.
I'm praying for you.
If you have any questions about Jesus,
write to me .

(March 14, 1998 11:30 AM CST)

"Let us strive to enter into that rest,
so that no one may fall,
in imitation of the example
of Israel's unbelief.
Indeed,
God's word is living and effective,
sharper than any two-edged sword.
It penetrates and divides soul and spirit,
joints and marrow; it judges the reflections
and thoughts of the heart.
Nothing is concealed from him;
all lies bear and exposed to the eyes
of him to whom we must render an account."
Hebrews 4:11-13

Enter into God's resting place.
Come here if you are tired.
Enter in.
The journey is very long.
You need the Lord's help.
You need "God's word" in the Bible.
Read it every day.
It will change your life.
The evil in your life will be exposed.
Your heart will be revealed.
One day you will have to account for
all the time you have been here on earth.
Did you live for the Lord?
Did you think of others besides yourself?
Jesus will show you the way.
Call on his name.

(March 13, 1998 6:33 AM CST)

"Those preceding Jesus as well as
those who followed cried out:
'Hosanna!
Blessed is he who comes in the
name of the Lord!
Blessed is the reign of our
father David to come!
Hosanna in the highest!'
He entered Jerusalem
and went into the temple precincts."
Mark 11:9-11

Jesus entered Jerusalem.
They welcomed him with joy.
They cried out.
Welcome Jesus into your heart.
Be blessed.

(March 12, 1998 6:22 AM CST)

It is 10 below zero F this morning in Omaha .
This is a record low temperature.

"Strive for peace with all men,
and for that holiness without which
no one can see the Lord.
See to it that no man falls away
from the grace of God;
that no bitter root springs up
through which many may become defiled;
that there be among you no fornicator
or godless person like Esau,
who sold his birthright for a meal."
Hebrews 12:14-16

Be at peace.
Be a friend.
Seek holiness.
Do what the Lord asks of you.
Help the lost.
Plant good seeds.
Pray for the godless people.
Stay in the grace of God.
Jesus is your hope.
Be pure and undefiled.
Be born of the Holy Spirit.
Stay close to Jesus.

Thanks for your prayers for Kim
back on September 30, 1996 .
She is much better.
Praise the Lord.

(March 8, 1998 6:33 AM CST)

"In the name of the encouragement you owe me
in Christ, in the name of the solace
that love can give, of fellowship in spirit,
compassion and pity, I beg you:
make my joy complete by your unanimity,
possessing the one love,
united in spirit and ideals.
Never act out of rivalry or conceit;
rather, let all parties think humbly of others
as superior to themselves, each of you
looking to others' interests rather
than to his own."
Philippians 2:1-4

Lord, help us to think of others.
We only think of ourselves.
Give us compassion and pity.
Make us humble and caring.
Give us encouragement and solace.
Make our joy complete.
Jesus come and teach us your ways.

Today we are having a blizzard in Omaha .
We are getting about a foot of snow
with lots of wind.
Many of the churches are cancelling
their services this morning.
Interstate-80 is closed from
Greenwood to North Platte in Nebraska.
Pray for our safety.
Thanks.

(March 7, 1998 6:41 AM CST)

Jesus then said to them,
"Tonight your faith in me
will be shaken, for Scripture has it:
'I will strike the shepherd
and the sheep of the flock
will be dispersed.'
But after I am raised up,
I will go to Galilee ahead of you."
Matthew 26:31-32

Your faith will be tested.
Will you pass the test?
Maybe and maybe not.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd.
Follow him.
If you fall,
he will help you get back up.
He died and rose from the dead.
One day he will raise you up.
Have faith and believe.
He goes ahead of you
to prepare the way.

(March 6, 1998 6:26 AM CST)

"Give thanks to the Lord,
for he is good,
for his kindness endures forever.
Who can tell the mighty deeds of the Lord,
or proclaim all his praises?
Happy are they who observe what is right,
who do always what is just.
Remember me, O Lord, as you favor your people;
visit me with your saving help,
that I may see the prosperity of your chosen ones,
rejoice in the joy of your people,
and glory with your inheritance."
Psalms 106:1-5

Thank you, Lord, for your kindness and mercy.
Thank you, for your grace.
Help us to do what is right.
We see people getting drunk
or using illegal drugs.
Help us to be a good witness.
We thank you for your inheritance.
We do not deserve it.
Thank you, for blessing upon blessing.
You are our happiness.
We rejoice.

(March 5, 1998 6:12 AM CST)

"See what love the Father has bestowed on us
in letting us be called children of God!
Yet that is what we are.
The reason the world does not recognize us
is that it never recognized the Son.
Dearly beloved,
we are God's children now;
what we shall later be has
not yet come to light.
We know that when it comes to light
we shall be like him,
for we shall see him as he is.
Everyone who has this hope based on him
keeps himself pure, as he is pure."
1 John 3:1-3

God loves you.
You know it.
He made you.
You are his.
You are his child.
Do you recognize him?
Can you see him?
One day you will see him.
Come and believe.
Jesus is the light.
Be pure.
Hope.

Where are you at this Lent?
Have you begun the journey?
Have you fallen?
Get back up.
Continue.
Ask Jesus for strength.
Seek the Lord with all your heart.

(March 2, 1998 6:32 AM CST)

Jesus said to all:
"Whoever wishes to be my follower
must deny his very self,
take up his cross each day,
and follow in my steps.
Whoever would save his life will lose it,
and whoever loses his life for my sake
will save it.
What profit does he show who gains the
whole world and destroys himself in the process?
If a man is ashamed of me and my doctrine,
the Son of Man will be ashamed of him
when he comes in his glory
and that of his Father and his holy angels."
Luke 9:23-26

I see the stock market going up and up.
Are you getting rich?
Is that worth more to you than your soul?
Take up your cross.
Being a follower of Jesus is not easy.
Do the will of God.
One day Jesus will return in glory.
Be watchful.
Do not be ashamed of the gospel.
It is Good News that people need to hear.

(March 1, 1998 6:38 AM CST)

"The man instructed in the word should
share all he has with his instructor.
Make no mistake about it,
no one makes a fool of God!
A man will reap only what he sows.
If he sows in the field of the flesh,
he will reap a harvest of corruption;
but if his seed is in the spirit,
he will reap everlasting life.
Let us not grow weary of doing good;
if we do not relax our efforts,
in due time we shall reap our harvest.
While we have the opportunity,
let us do good to all men ---
but especially those of the
household of the faith."
Galatians 6:6-10

It is spring.
It is time to plant the seeds.
Plant the seeds of faith.
Listen to Christian radio.
Attend church each week.
Read God's words in the Bible.
The words will be planted in your heart
and they will grow.
They will have an impact on your life.
Tell others about Jesus.
If you know a lot about the Bible,
share that with others.
Do good to others.
Be thoughtful.
Bless them.
Pray for them.
In time there will be a great harvest.
Heaven and earth will rejoice.
