Love God
Be There For Others

Share What You Have

Pray

Be Positive

Love (as Jesus would do)

(October 31, 1998 6:25 AM CST)

Jesus told the Sadducees,
"You are badly misled because you
fail to understand the Scriptures
and the power of God."
Matthew 22:29

How little we understand.
We can be misled.
Do you study the Bible?
Do you pray for the Holy
Spirit to enlighten you
when you read the Bible?
Do you understand?
Do you fail?
Do you feel the power of God?
Come.
Come and see.
Come and read.
Pray.
The Lord is all powerful.
He is full of wisdom.
Seek the Lord Jesus.
He will not fail you.
He will not fail.
He will accomplish his purpose.
Will you accomplish your purpose?

(October 30, 1998 6:10 AM CST)

KGBI 100.7 FM made their goal last night.
All good things come from heaven above.
Praise the Lord.

"A good name is more desirable
than great riches,
and high esteem,
than gold and silver.
Rich and poor have a common bond:
the Lord is the maker of them all.
Train a boy in the way he should go;
even when he is old,
he will not swerve from it.
The kindly man will be blessed,
for he gives of his sustenance to the poor.
The Lord loves the pure of heart...
The eyes of the Lord safeguard knowledge,
but he defeats the projects of the faithless."
Proverbs 22:1,2,6,9,11,12

Do you have a good name?
Do you have a bad name?
Do what is right and pleasing
to the Lord.
All of us are brothers and sisters
for we all have one Father in heaven.
Say 'Hello' to all those strangers:
they are related to you.
What did you learn when you were young?
Did you pray?
Did you go to church?
Those seeds of faith were planted,
so let them grow.
If not,
start brand-new.
Learn more about Jesus.
Teach your children.
Give them something eternal
to hold on to.
Remember the poor.
Help them.
Be kind.
May your heart be pure.
May the Lord protect your thoughts.
May you walk in holiness.
May you be faithful.
Follow his ways.

(October 29, 1998 6:13 AM CST)

KGBI 100.7 FM is trying to raise money
to continue their ministry.
Help them out, if you can,
or help the Christian radio
station in your town.

Jesus began to address them,
once more using parables.
"The reign of God may be likened
to a king who gave a wedding banquet
for his son. He dispatched his servants
to summon the invited guests to the
wedding, but they refused to come.
A second time he sent other servants,
saying: 'Tell those who were invited,
see, I have my dinner prepared!
My bullocks and corn-fed cattle are
killed; everything is ready.
Come to the feast.'"
Matthew 22:1-4

Jesus invites you.
He sends you an invitation.
You can toss the invitation
in the trash,
or
you can come to the feast.
Please, come.
Please, come to the celebration.
You do not know what you
are missing.
He has prepared a place for you.
He loves you.
He cares about you.
He has made you.
He invites you to be with him
for all eternity.
Come.

(October 28, 1998 6:14 AM CST)

I'm told that when there is a hurricane
some birds get trapped in the
eye of the storm and travel
along with the storm wherever
it goes. That is like what the
Lord Jesus does for us.
He is the calm in the midst
of the surrounding storm.
He will protect you.
He will guide you in your travels.
He will keep you safe.
He has formed a wall around you.

"As Jesus entered Jerusalem
the whole city was stirred to its
depths, demanding,
'Who is this?'
And the crowd kept answering,
'This is the prophet Jesus
from Nazareth in Galilee.'"
Matthew 21:10-11

Jesus comes to your town today.
Do you see the crowds?
Do you hear the sounds?
Are you curious to meet him?
He is God.
He has come to earth.
It is unbelievable.
Jesus was fully man and fully God.
He walked on this earth
that he had created.
It must have been a very
interesting experience.
Jesus came to help these people
and some responded with great joy
and others tried to kill him.
Does Jesus stir your heart today?
Do you receive him?
Do you turn away?
Come and see.
Come and believe.

(October 27, 1998 6:11 AM CST)

Jesus told the parable of the laborers
in the vineyard. Some laborers
worked all day and some worked
just an hour. They were all paid
the same daily wage.
"The owner of the vineyard said,
'Take your pay and go home.
I intend to give this man who
was hired last the same pay
as you. I am free to do as I
please with my money, am I not?
Or are you envious because
I am generous?'
Thus the last shall be first
and the first shall be last."
Matthew 20:14-16

The Lord is very generous.
He is full of mercy.
He is kind.
Is it fair?
God can do whatever he wants.
He is God.
We do not understand his mercy.
Can a person lead a life of sin
and get in the door at the
last hour?
It is possible.
An example is the thief on
the cross next to Jesus.
The thief had led a life of sin,
but Jesus forgave him
as he was dying.
It is the 11th hour.
So are you first
or are you last?
Are you envious?
Will you turn from your
evil ways?
Will you ask God to forgive you?
He is very generous.

(October 26, 1998 6:05 AM CST)

"Jesus told the young man,
'If you seek perfection,
go,
sell your possessions,
and give to the poor.
You will then have treasure in heaven.
Afterward, come back
and follow me.'
Hearing these words,
the young man went away sad,
for his possessions were many."
Matthew 19:21-22

Will you follow Jesus
or go away sad?
Do you possess things?
Or do they possess you?
Travel light.
Give things away.
What do you need to survive?
Clothes, food, a car
and a place to stay.
Friends and family.
A Bible.
What do you really need?
You make a list.

Here is a another picture
from the thunder-snowstorm
of October 26, 1997.
It is a picture of my driveway.
It is scary, just to look at it.
There is a live electric wire
under the branches on the left.
The wire went to the light pole.

(October 25, 1998 7:02 AM CST)

We (in Omaha) are back on
CST (Central Standard Time) now.
The clock on my VCR reset itself.
Interesting.

"I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall be ever in my mouth.
Let my soul glory in the Lord;
the lowly will hear me and be glad.
Glorify the Lord with me,
let us together extol his name."
Psalms 34:1-4

We give praise to God today.
We bless his name.
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord.
He made heaven and earth.
He made you and me.
He is wonderful.
Be glad.
Give glory to God.
Praise the name of Jesus.
Go to church today (Sunday).
Praise the Lord with other believers.
Sing songs of joy.
Lift up your hearts.
Rejoice.
The Lord is here to save you.
Amen.

(October 24, 1998 8:25 AM CDT)

Happy Birthday, Bridget!
God bless you!

Jesus said,
"See that you never despise
one of these little ones.
I assure you,
their angels in heaven constantly
behold my heavenly Father's face."
Matthew 18:10

Never lead a child into sin.
Set a good example.
Encourage them.
Call them to greatness and goodness.
Pray with them.
Share your faith.
The Lord has given us angels.
They are messengers from God.
They are sent to protect us.
We are greater than them.
Call on the angels to fight
against evil forces.
Just a few angels
can defeat a great army.
They are subject to us.
We thank you, Lord,
for your goodness and protection.
We thank you
for angels.

(October 23, 1998 6:09 AM CDT)

The disciples asked Jesus,
"Who is of greatest importance
in the kingdom of God?"
He called a little child over and
stood him in their midst and said:
"I assure you,
unless you change and become like
little children,
you will not enter the kingdom of God.
Whoever makes himself lowly,
becoming like this child is of
greatest importance
in that heavenly reign."
Matthew 18:1-4

What does it mean to become
like little children?
Are there any little children
that have great wealth and power?
That could be a clue.
We are not clueless.
Jesus says to make yourself lowly.
That is pretty obvious.
Are you all puffed up?
Are you the greatest?
Jesus asks you to be humble.
Think of others as more important
than you.
Serve others.
Trust.
Look to others for help.
I wonder what happened to this
little child.
What became of them?
What did they grow up to be?
Some day we will know.
What will you be?
Are you trusting?
Do you have a simple faith
in God and others?
Do you believe in miracles?
Are you a child?

(October 22, 1998 6:11 AM CDT)

Did you know that in the USA you can
dial 1-700-555-4141 and check who
your long-distance carrier is?
I requested that both my phone lines
be changed to QWEST .
So far, one is and one isn't.

Jesus told his disciples,
"I assure you,
if you had faith the size of a
mustard seed, you would be able to
say to this mountain,
'Move from here to there,'
and it would move.
Nothing would be impossible for you."
Matthew 17:20

Move mountains?
Could you do that?
Do you believe it?
Not?
Well, then you can't do it.
It takes faith.
Ask the Lord Jesus today
to increase your faith.
Pick a mountain,
any mountain.
One mountain would be sin in your life.
Can you cast it out?
No?
Yes, it takes faith.
You and Jesus can cast out sin.
You can change (move).
Is it impossible or
is it possible?
You decide.
You change your life.
Move.

(October 21, 1998 6:07 AM CDT)

"Jesus then said to his disciples:
'If a man wishes to come after me,
he must deny his very self,
take up his cross,
and begin to follow in my footsteps.
Whoever would save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake
will find it.
What profit would a man show
if he were to gain the whole world
and destroy himself in the process?
What can a man offer in exchange
for his very self?'"
Matthew 16:24-26

Deny yourself?
What?
You mean give something up?
Do you deny yourself anything?
Follow Jesus.
Do you see his footsteps?
Where do they lead?
Are you even looking for them?
What would Jesus do?
Do you want to win?
Do you have a goal?
If your goal is to make all the money
you can and live a very comfortable
life,
you lose.
If you live for Jesus,
you win.
You have nothing to offer
except your life.
Is your life something to offer?
Is something there?
Is anything there?
Money has no eternal value ---
it is worthless.
Live locally but think eternally.

Yesterday, I wrote a letter to Christine.
I told her to:
be strong.
She lost her Mom on October 6.
Pray for her.
Thanks.

(October 20, 1998 6:07 AM CDT)

Please, pray for Bob that is sick.
Thanks.

(October 19, 1998 6:02 AM CDT)

The trees around Omaha
are turning all kinds of colors.
Some are very bright yellow or
very dark red.
It is a sign that time is short.
Winter is soon approaching.
The leaves one by one will fall
and be blown around.
It is a beautiful time of the year.

"Jesus directed the crowd to seat
themselves on the ground.
He took the seven loaves and the fish,
and after giving thanks he broke them
and gave them to the disciples,
who in turn gave them to the crowds.
All ate until they were full.
When they gathered up the fragments
left over, these filled seven hampers.
The people who were fed numbered four thousand,
apart from women and children."
Matthew 15:35-38

Jesus give us directions.
He tells us to do something.
So do you know what the Lord
is telling you to do?
Are you listening?
For example, Jesus says to forgive.
Do you forgive everyone
or are there "exceptions?"
He says to love everyone.
Are there people you need to
be nice to and care for?
Jesus gave thanks.
Are you grateful?
Do you say every morning:
"Thank you, Lord, for another day"?
Jesus feeds you.
He gives you food.
He gives you so much food
that you are stuffed.
He gives an abundance.
Do you say thanks?
It is a miracle.
Are you amazed?
Jesus can take your life
and the things that you do
and multiply it.
If you pray for someone,
Jesus prays right along with you.
Jesus, today I'm praying for
the people that read these words.
Bless them.
Bless their families.
Give them strength for another day.
Increase their faith.
Give them your peace.
Send your angels to watch over them.
Thank you, Jesus.

(October 18, 1998 7:06 AM CDT)

"King Herod sent the order to have
John beheaded in prison.
John's head was brought in on
a platter and given to the girl,
who took it to her mother.
Later his disciples presented
themselves to carry his body
away and bury it. Afterward,
they came and informed Jesus."
Matthew 14:10-12

John the Baptist died for what
he believed.
He told people to change.
He told them to reform.
King Herod was a sinner.
John told him so.
John was trying to save Herod's
soul and lost his life.
Jesus must have been sad
at this news.
John was gone.
He knew who he was.
He would be missed.
Jesus knew his relatives.
He knew that they would be
heart-broken.
He felt for them.
He knew how they would react
to this news.
Jesus was sad for Herod and
his family.
He was as good as dead.
Evil had "killed" Herod.
Evil can destroy you.
It can destroy your family.
Seek after holiness.
Do what is right and
pleasing to God.
The Lord Jesus will save your soul.
The Lord will save your family.

Billy Graham will have a TV program
this week.
You can search these TV Listings .
In Omaha it is on channel 15 KXVO
Friday, October 23rd at 7 PM.
In Sioux Falls it is on channel 11 KELO
Thursday, October 22nd at 8 PM.

(October 17, 1998 6:27 AM CDT)

I'm still having problems with getting
disconnected from Novia,
so I better call them.

"The reign of God is like a buried
treasure which a man found in a
field. He hid it again, and
rejoicing at his find went and
sold all he had and bought
that field."
Matthew 13:44

This is about Jesus.
One day he found you.
He saw how valuable you are.
Then he gave all that he had.
He gave his life for you.
You are a treasure.
You are purchased at a great price.

Thanks for praying for Natalie.
I asked you to pray for her
on September 18, 1998 .
I found out yesterday that she
decided to let her baby live.
She was considering abortion.
We praise the Lord for new life.
Prayers are very powerful.

(October 16, 1998 6:01 AM CDT)

I'm told that spring2life.com
has not been working for the
last few days.
Sorry.
Maybe that's why I kept getting
disconnected over and over
last week.
I did not even know there was
a problem, because I'm on
www.novia.net

which is where it is at.
In the future, if you can't get to
spring2life.com for a few days,
please let me know by email:
dan@spring2life.com
.
Thanks.

Jesus said,
"Blest are your eyes
because they see and
blest are your ears
because they hear.
I assure you,
many a prophet and many a saint
longed to see what you see
but did not see it,
to hear what you hear
but did not hear it."
Matthew 13:16-17

What does Jesus mean?
How could people see him and not
believe?
How could people hear him
and not understand?
It takes faith.
You can read the Bible
and miss the point.
You can study the words so much
that it becomes like a class
on any subject.
You need the Holy Spirit
to help you understand.
You need to use your heart
and your soul.
Don't miss the point.
Pray for understanding
and wisdom.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to
reveal the truth to you.
Then you will:
see
hear

(October 15, 1998 6:05 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"A good man produces good from
his store of goodness;
an evil man produces evil from
his evil store.
I assure you,
on judgment day people will be held
accountable for every
unguarded word they speak.
By your words you will be acquitted,
and by your words you
will be condemned."
Matthew 12:35-37

Words are very important.
Thoughts are very important.
Do you say words of love?
Do you speak the truth?
Watch what you say.
Your words give you away.
Be good.
Avoid evil.
Use your words to spread love.
Don't say anything hurtful.
There is a time to speak.
There is a time for being silent.
Pray.
Yes, say words of praise.
Thank the Lord Jesus.
One day there will be judgment.
Ask for forgiveness.
Speak words of forgiveness.
Lord, have mercy on my soul.

(October 14, 1998 6:07 AM CDT)

"A possessed man who was brought to Jesus
was blind and mute.
He cured the man so that he could
speak and see.
All in the crowd were astonished."
Matthew 12:22-23

What a sight that must have been---
to be there
and see a miracle take place.
Have you ever seen a miracle?
The man was blind.
Many of us are blind, also.
We do not see our faults.
We think nothing is wrong with us.
The man could not speak.
We say a lot of things,
but are we really saying anything?
We need healing.
We need the touch of Jesus.
We need to be changed.
If you think you do not have to change,
I'd be worried.
Seek the Lord.
Ask Jesus to change you.
Ask him to open your eyes.
Ask him to give you words of praise.
Be perfect,
as Jesus was perfect.
We can only do this with God's help.
Then you will:
see
speak
be astonished

(October 13, 1998 6:05 AM CDT)

I'm still having problems with my computer,
so pray that I figure it out.
I keep getting disconnected.

"On one occasion Jesus spoke thus:
'Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
to you I offer praise;
for what you have hidden from the
learned and the clever
you have revealed to
the merest children.'"
Matthew 11:25

You do not have to be a genius
to understand that God loves you.
He will reveal himself to you.
If you read the Bible,
you will see.
You will come to believe.
You will know the truth.
You will find hope.
You will see the light.
Keep things simple.
Say a prayer like:
Jesus, I love you.

(October 12, 1998 6:08 AM CDT)

Happy Birthday, Dad!
God bless you today.

"I sought the Lord,
and he answered me
and delivered me from
all my fears.
Look to him that you may
be radiant with joy,
and your faces may not
blush with shame.
When the afflicted man called out,
the Lord heard,
and from all his distress he saved him.
The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him,
and delivers them."
Psalms 34:5-8

The Lord bless you today.
You may be hurting.
I'm praying that God will
be your strength today.
You will not make it without him.
He is the only one
that will give you joy
in the midst of all your
pain and suffering.
Be strong.
Pray for my friend Lori's aunt.
She is in great pain from cancer
and near death.
Thanks.

What do you do when you
hear there is a funeral or wake?
The Lord has taught me in the
last week to go....
be there with these people.
Cry with them.
Give them a hug.
A few months ago I should have
gone to a wake and funeral,
but I did not.
I did not want to be there.
I was too busy.
It is too sad for me.
I would not know what to say.
I was wrong.
You can learn from my mistake.
Go.
Comfort them.
Be with these people.

(October 11, 1998 6:54 AM CDT)

"I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall be ever in my mouth.
Let my soul glory in the Lord;
the lowly will hear me and be glad.
Glorify the Lord with me,
let us together extol his name."
Psalms 34:1-4

The last few days I have been having
problems with typing in these words.
I would keep getting disconnected after
4 or 5 minutes from my ISP.
There is a problem with my computer
or modem or phone lines.
I'm trying my second line now.
It seems to be working better.
But I will bless the Lord.
The problems will come my way,
but God is here to help me
through them.
The Lord Jesus will help you with
your problems.
You will not survive
without him.
He will help you.

(October 10, 1998 6:07 AM CDT)

Yesterday was the funeral for my sister,
Joan, at 10 AM.
It was a beautiful sunny 65 F degree (18 C)
day.
You could not have asked for a nicer day.
I watched the sun come up from Boys Town
at 7:28 AM near the baseball fields.
The sun came up behind these trees south
of the Jewish Community Center on 132 and Dodge.
I don't think there was cloud in the sky.
A few minutes later when I was leaving my house there
was a "fly over" of about 40 or 50
Canada geese flying toward the east.
That was really cool.
The day before when I arrived for the wake
at 78 and Center there was a sun dog
in the western sky around 5:45 PM.
(Sun dogs are rainbows in the clouds caused
by ice crystals.)
Many, many tears I have cried the last few days.
The wake really helped me.
Many friends stopped by.
It was good to see them.
I needed that.
Many people came to the funeral.
At the end of the services in the church
on 44 and Bancroft I stood up and thanked
everyone for coming on behalf of the family.
I said, "We would not make it without you."
We need each other.
Thank you for your prayers, also.
We needed them.
We sang a few songs during the service.
One of the songs was
"On Eagle's Wings"
.

"We know that God makes all things
work together for the good of those
who love God and are
called according to his decree."
Romans 8:28

It is hard to understand death.
How can any good come from it?
Maybe it will get you to think about
your own death.
Maybe you will be touched by my sister's
death and find faith.
Jesus is the answer.
All things will work out in the end,
if you believe.
If you've suffered a loss in your family
recently, I'm praying for you.
May God give you peace
in the midst of all the sorrow.
Jesus is our hope.
Our only hope.

(October 9, 1998 4:02 AM CDT)

It's early.
It's too early for me to even say
"Good Morning" yet.
I have to create a new page here
in cyberspace called:
The Joan Cantwell Memorial
.
I want to share who she was
and what she did.

(October 8, 1998 6:15 AM CDT)

"But I am afflicted and in pain;
let your saving help, O God,
protect me.
I will praise the name of God in song,
and I will glorify him with thanksgiving."
Psalms 69:30-31

Yesterday we went to search the
place where my sister lived.
We found that she kept a journal.
She wrote daily (sounds like me).
Her last entry was for "10-5-98".
She had not slept the night before.
She asked "Why?"
In other places of her writings
she did say "Praise Jesus".
That was a comfort for me to see.
And it was a sunny day - thank God.
I prayed for that.
That did help.

My parents and I went to the cemetery
at 49th and Leavenworth at 1 PM.
It was like a scene from a movie.
It was an unreal experience to
pick out a spot of land to bury someone.
It was strange to be walking around
all these graves on a bright sunny day.
We saw the grave of my Grandmother and
Grandfather (Rose and Sebastian).
We sat down in this one-room office which
had 7 windows and signed some papers
to buy this plot of land.
You could hear the cars constantly
whizzing by on Leavenworth.

(October 7, 1998 6:08 AM CDT)

This morning I am in shock.
Yesterday at about 9:30 AM at work
I received a call from my sister,
Mary. She said that my other sister,
Joan, had died.
So pray for me and my family.
Thank you very much.

Jesus told Martha:
"I am the resurrection and the life;
whoever believes in me,
though he should die,
will come to life;
and whoever is alive and
believes in me will never die."
John 11:25-26

There is joy today.
Joan believed in Jesus.
Jesus welcomes her home.
There is sadness of the separation.
Death is big.
It is very big.
And yet I have my faith.
I believe in Jesus.
This life is not all there is.
There is more.
Joan had planned on going on a
retreat this weekend.
Instead she is now on an eternal retreat.
She lived her whole life with asthma.
She probably had an asthma attack.
Maybe this is what killed her.
We don't know at the moment.
Douglas County will do an autopsy.
This is part of life.
Sometimes we have to say good-bye.
It is hard.
It was hard for me to eat breakfast
this morning when I was crying.
Grief.
You do not feel like eating.
It makes you sick to your stomach.
But life goes on.
Sometimes I wonder just how strong
I am.
Can I handle this?
Probably not.
But I will make it --- somehow.
Jesus will be at my side.

(October 6, 1998 5:00 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Whoever acknowledges me before men
I will acknowledge before my Father
in heaven.
Whoever disowns me before men
I will disown before my Father
in heaven."
Matthew 10:32-33

Do you admit that you know Jesus?
Are you embarrassed to say anything?
You might want to think about it.
Share what you know.
If Jesus is your best friend,
wouldn't you tell others?
He is the best.
He is more than you could ever
hope for.
He is the one.
Share.

Here is a picture of the "fence effect"
on October 26, 1997.
Cool!

(October 5, 1998 6:04 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"The gift you have received,
give as a gift."
Matthew 10:8

What have you received from the Lord?
Many things.
Be grateful.
Thank the Lord.
Share what you have.
That is the way it should be.
Give.
Give the gift.

Yesterday at 2 PM I went to a church to pray
with about 10 others for an end
to abortion.
I firmly believe that prayer will
change the hearts of these doctors.
They will see the light one day.
My Dad went to 52 & Dodge to hold
a sign with a few thousand others
for "Life Chain".
Then I took a drive up to Blair
in the rain.
You would think I like Blair.
It is the home of Dana College .

(October 4, 1998 8:49 AM CDT)

Good morning it's 54 F degrees (12 C).
The wind is out of the southeast.
The flag at the Westroads shopping
center is really flying.

I think I made a big mistake with
"Preparation for year 2000"
.
The title was too small in the paper.
The advertisement was hard to spot.
Some people told me they were looking
for it and had problems.
Someone else said they read the paper
and did not see it.
Maybe it was just for a few people to see.
I don't know.
I won't do that again.
I tried to save money by making all the
fonts smaller.
It was not placed at the top of the page
that it was on could have been another factor.

There is a 1-inch advertisement on Page 7-R
of the "omaha.com" section today
in the newspaper .
It is in the upper right corner of
the page.
It says 3 lines:

spring2life.com
For Your
Spiritual Enrichment

"When Jesus arrived at the synagogue
leader's house and saw the flute players
and the crowd who were making a din,
he said,
'Leave, all of you!
The little girl is not dead.
She is asleep.'
At this they began to ridicule him.
When the crowd had been put out he
entered and took her by the hand,
and the little girl got up.
News of this circulated throughout
the district."
Matthew 9:23-26

The little girl was dead.
Her father had faith.
Jesus was there.
Faith can move mountains.
It can change things.
The news will spread.
If you awake from your "sleep",
many people will know.
People may not believe it.
Are you really alive?
Jesus needs to take your hand.
He will lift you up.
Awake!
Come alive.

Here is another picture from October 26, 1997.
This is from my front yard looking south.
As you can see, there was no way to
drive down the street this way.
This tree on the right was cut down
a few months after this.
(I'm sorry if I'm scaring you all
here in Omaha with this reminder.)

(October 3, 1998 6:28 AM CDT)

Renie had a baby boy on October 1st,
so thanks for praying for her.
She sits next to me at work .

I got a phone message yesterday from
omaha.com
. They want a banner for
spring2life.com
.
On October 4 we will have a 1-inch
advertisement in the section to
introduce omaha.com in the newspaper.

"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his mercy endures forever;
Give thanks to the God of gods,
for his mercy endures forever;
Give thanks to the Lord of lords,
for his mercy endures forever."
Psalms 136:1-3

I hear some people say that
God will never forgive them.
The Lord is kind and merciful.
He will forgive you.
He will welcome you back.
Call on the name of Jesus.
He will hold you.
He loves you.
His mercy endures for all time.

(October 2, 1998 6:09 AM CDT)

"Jesus continued his tour of all the towns
and villages. He taught in their
synagogues, he proclaimed the good news
of God's reign, and he cured every sickness,
and disease. At the sight of the crowds,
his heart was moved with pity. They were
lying prostrate from exhaustion, like
sheep without a shepherd."
Matthew 9:35-36

Jesus has a heart.
He seeks out the lost and tired.
Are you exhausted?
Are you out of breath?
Jesus comes to bring you good news.
He has come to lead you to safety.
He is concerned for you.
Give your problems to the Lord.
Lean on him.
He has come.

Here is a
picture of the bridge

at 16 and Leavenworth a few
weeks ago.
Yes, the bridge is out.

(October 1, 1998 6:17 AM CDT)

"As Jesus moved on,
he saw a man named Matthew
at his post where taxes were collected.
He said to him,
'Follow me.'
Matthew got up and followed him."
Matthew 9:9

Can you do that?
Can you follow the Lord?
He says to come after him.
Stop cheating people.
He asks you to be honest.
Be fair.
If the money or property is not yours,
give it back to who owns it.
Keep life simple ---
then there is nothing to hide.
Jesus is the way.
Follow him.

Here is a
picture of my 3 African violets
.
The two on the left will make it,
but I'm not sure of the one on the right.
No one watered them for 2 weeks when
I was away on strike duty in
Albuquerque and Sioux Falls.
