God loves you
Trust in the Lord

Place your heart in God's hands

Change your life

Look up to heaven

Sing for joy --- your salvation has come

(July 23, 2008 Wed 6:08 AM CDT)

I helped to serve dinner last night at SFH .
We had about 10 young boys from Mary Our Queen church helping.
I was surprised.
They did very well.
God bless them and their families.

"'Cast your net off to the starboard side,' Jesus suggested,
'and you will find something.'
So they made a cast,
and took so many fish
they could not haul the net in."
John 21:6

Listen to Jesus.
He will make suggestions.
Will you respond?
He will give you more than you expect.
He knows what is best.
Ask Jesus what he would do.

(July 22, 2008 Tue 6:10 AM CDT)

"When a Samaritan woman came to draw water,
Jesus said to her,
'Give me a drink.'"
John 4:7

Jesus will ask you to do something.
It can be something very simple.
Listen to him.
Be ready to respond.

(July 21, 2008 Mon 6:15 AM CDT)

Jesus taught,
"For this reason
a man shall leave his father and mother
and cling to his wife,
and the two shall become as one."
Matthew 19:5

Pray for everyone that is married.
God bless them.
May they be one.
God bless their children and grandchildren.

(July 20, 2008 Sun 8:18 AM CDT)

"Let my heart rejoice in your salvation;
let me sing of the Lord,
'He has been good to me.'"
Psalms 13:6 or 5-6

Yes, the Lord has been good to me.
He is wonderful indeed.
He is awesome.
Thank you, Lord, for saving me.

(July 19, 2008 Sat 10:02 AM CDT)

"Therefore, since we for our part
are surrounded by this cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every encumbrance of sin
which clings to us and persevere
in running the race which lies ahead;
let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus,
who inspires and perfects our faith."
Hebrews 12:1-2

We are not alone.
We have many brothers and sisters in the faith.
Turn from sin.
Persevere.
Our inspiration comes from Jesus.
Focus on him.

(July 18, 2008 Fri 6:19 AM CDT)

"We wish you the favor and peace of God our Father
and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
who gave himself for our sins,
to rescue us from the present age,
as our God and Father willed ---
to him be glory for endless ages.
Amen."
Galatians 1:3-5

We were/are in trouble.
God sent his Son to save us from our sins.
We need help.
Jesus, thank you for coming to earth.
You died for our sins.
You rescued us.
Thank you very much.
We give glory to you.

(July 17, 2008 Thu 6:19 AM CDT)

"When I arrived in Macedonia I was restless and exhausted.
I was under all kinds of stress ---
quarrels with others and fears within myself.
But God, who gives heart to those who are low in spirit,
gave me strength with the arrival of Titus."
2 Corinthians 7:5-6

Are you under stress?
Do you have fears?
Ask God for help.
He will comfort your heart and soul.
Jesus, come and help me.
Lift me up.

(July 16, 2008 Wed 6:18 AM CDT)

"Jesus told Martha,
'I am the resurrection and the life;
whoever believes in me,
though he should die, will come to life;
and whoever is alive and
believes in me will never die.
Do you believe this?'"
John 11:25-26

Do you believe it?
Do you believe in Jesus?
He is God.
He came to earth to save us.
Put your trust in him.

(July 15, 2008 Tue 6:11 AM CDT)

Dr. Dowell said yesterday that the pressure
in my eyes was 16 and 17 mm.
Normal.
God bless him and those who work in his office.
He asked about the bump on my forehead.

Jesus taught,
"To you who hear me, I say:
Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you;
bless those who curse you and
pray for those who maltreat you."
Luke 6:27-28

There are some difficult people.
You will run into them.
Treat them with respect.
Love will overcome hate.
Jesus, help us to love
those who are difficult to love.

(July 14, 2008 Mon 6:16 AM CDT)

"After John's arrest, Jesus appeared in Galilee
proclaiming the good news of God:
'This is the time of fulfillment.
The reign of God is at hand!
Reform your lives and believe in the gospel!'"
Mark 1:14-15

Today is the day.
Change your life.
Start in a new direction.
Listen to Jesus.
Follow him to a new life.

(July 13, 2008 Sun 7:48 AM CDT)

"God had made a better plan,
a plan which included us."
Hebrews 11:40

God needs you.
We need you.
Do your part.
You are called for a special purpose.
Help those around you.
Make the world a better place.

(July 12, 2008 Sat 9:16 AM CDT)

On Thursday I was showing my mom some videos on the Internet like...

Singing in the Rain with Gene Kelly.
In the Mood with the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
They invented "the wave" as you can see starting at 1:28.
Moon River sung by Andy Williams.

"Each of you is a son or daughter of God
because of your faith in Christ Jesus."
Galatians 3:26

You have a father.
You are his child.
Sing to your father in heaven.
Give praise to him.
Have faith.

(July 11, 2008 Fri 6:26 AM CDT)

"'Come and eat your meal,' Jesus told them.
Not one of the disciples presumed to inquire,
'Who are you?' for they knew it was the Lord."
John 21:12

Strange.
It was very strange after the resurrection of Jesus.
They knew who he was but he did not look the same.
He was changed.
Come and meet the risen Lord.
Have supper with him.
Get to know him all over again.

(July 10, 2008 Thu 6:24 AM CDT)

Jesus said,
"Scripture has it,
'Not on bread alone shall man live.'"
Luke 4:4

You need more than food.
You need faith.
You need hope.
Read the words of Jesus in the Bible.
They will feed your soul.

(July 9, 2008 Wed 6:14 AM CDT)

"I find myself thinking of your sincere faith ---
faith which first belonged to your grandmother Lois
and to your mother Eunice,
and which I am confident you also have."
2 Timothy 1:4-5

Pass your faith on to your children and grandchildren.
Encourage them.
Be with them.
Pray for them.
Answer their questions.
God bless them.

(July 8, 2008 Tue 6:14 AM CDT)

"I am not ashamed of the gospel.
It is the power of God leading everyone
who believes in it to salvation..."
Romans 1:16

It is the words of God.
Read the Bible.
It will change your life.
It will change the world.
Jesus, come with your power into our lives.
Change us.

(July 7, 2008 Mon 6:09 AM CDT)

The City of Omaha picked up the tree debris
on our street yesterday morning.
God bless them and the work they do.
It looks much better.
The tree blocking 45th Street south of Center is gone.
They were working in that neighborhood yesterday also.

"Jesus said,
'Father, forgive them
they do not know
what they are doing.'"
Luke 23:34

Forgive, forgive, forgive.
Jesus forgave those who hurt him.
We must do the same.
Jesus, help us to forgive those who have hurt us.

(July 6, 2008 Sun 7:56 AM CDT)

After 5 trips to Tranquility Park (120 & Maple) to dump tree debris
I can see my front sidewalk again.
The grass underneath survived.
Yes, very good.
I hit my brother in the head with one of the branches
as I was unloading them from his truck.
Sorry about that.
A truck is very very helpful.
I don't own a truck.
I talked to one of the guys that work for the City of Omaha.
He saw my bumper sticker ("Spring Back To Life With Jesus").
He said Amen to that.
He goes to Salem Baptist Church
at 32nd & Lake Streets.
I have seen it.
I have never been there.

"The next day when they were leaving Bethany Jesus felt hungry.
Observing a fig tree some distance off, covered with foliage,
he went over to see if he could find anything on it.
When he reached it he found nothing but leaves;
it was not the time for figs.
Then addressing it he said,
'Never again shall anyone eat of your fruit!'
His disciples heard all this."
Mark 11:12-14

The Lord comes when you don't expect.
Will he find any fruits in your life?
Dead leaves are not a pretty sight.
You want to be alive.
Jesus, keep us connected to you.
You are the vine.
We are the branches.

(July 5, 2008 Sat 9:48 AM CDT)

"Jesus said to them,
'Who do you say that I am?'
'You are the Messiah,' Simon Peter answered,
'the Son of the Living God!'"
Matthew 16:15-16

Who is Jesus?
The disciples talked to him face to face.
They saw what he did and said.
Simon Peter was there.
He says that Jesus was God.
What do you say?

(July 4, 2008 Fri 8:28 AM CDT)

Here's a Bible question from the crossword puzzle for
Jun 30, 2008 .
22 Down: Biblical reformer, 4 letters.

"O Lord, God of Israel, you are just;
yet we have been spared,
the remnant we are today.
Here we are before you in our sins.
Because of all this,
we can no longer stand in your presence."
Ezra 9:15

Jesus, forgive our sins.
We have done wrong.
Teach us to turn around.
We need your love and your grace.
Forgive us, Lord.

(July 3, 2008 Thu 6:08 AM CDT)

"Then I saw new heavens and new earth.
The former heavens and
the former earth had passed away,
and the sea was no longer."
Revelation 21:1

The world as we know it is changing.
The old is going away very fast.
We are overwhelmed by constant change.
Hold on to Jesus.
He is your anchor.
Focus on him.

(July 2, 2008 Wed 6:10 AM CDT)

"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord,
who has strengthened me,
that he has made me his servant
and judged me faithful."
1 Timothy 1:12

We find our strength in Jesus.
We can't do it ourselves.
It is only with his power
that we make it through the day.
Jesus, help me.
I am tired.
I am under stress.
I need your grace.
I want to be faithful to you.
Help me.

(July 1, 2008 Tue 6:17 AM CDT)

There are still thousands of people without power in Omaha.
Pray for them.
It is very difficult without it.
Pray for the workers restoring the power.
Lord, bless them today.
At 55th and Dodge there is still a tree blocking
one of the lanes of traffic.
The traffic lights are out at 93rd and Dodge Streets.
The 4th of July came a week early with "fireworks."

"This is a great foreshadowing;
I mean that it refers to Christ and the Church.
In any case,
each one should love his wife as he loves himself,
the wife for her part showing respect for her husband."
Ephesians 5:32-33

Pray for those who are married.
May their relationship reflect the love of God.
May their faith be strong.
Love one another.
Respect your spouse.
